Roll up! Roll up! Because Bright Club is back for 2013, bringing you another bunch of clever folks to make you smile, and if you’re lucky we’ll even throw in some of the musical stuff for a proper shindig. This time the theme is “Bodies”,  so as usual expect wide interpretations and tenuous links.

Amazing work by Dan Everett last Thursday night, as our songwriter for Bright Club: “Vintage”. Via Wikipedia, he came up with about a hundred different ways to define vintage. “Cupcakes, tweed and strife” was our favourite. Here’s the song. Let it wash over you as you soak yourself in cheap, very-much-the-opposite-of-vintage, wine this Christmas.

The lovely Katey Brooks, who performed for us recently at Bright Club: “BRAAAAINS!“, has gone away and recorded a live-esque version of her BRAAAAINS-themed song for us. At the show, the audience obliged Katey by doing a little whoop at each vaguely brainy word she sang… so “cerebellum” – “whoop!”, “nervous system” – “whoop!”. A bit like that. Anyway, this version doesn’t have the audience participation, but it’s still MOST excellent and you’re welcome to add your own whooping while listening.

Amazingfuntimes were had at Bright Club Bristol’s fourth show, “SUPER!”, last week. We smelt the smells of animal glands, learned about magical pixie poo and failed on ABBA jokes. We also heard from the rather brilliant Martin Austwick, who wrote a song for us about his own “super” powers and some other rubbish super powers that no one really wants. He’s now recorded that song so you can all have another listen. Thanks Martin!
