#5 Mature Skin:

People sometimes find it hard to understand that we age day by day. It ages in due time.. If you smoke or drink you are more likely to undergo your skin to dry up much quicker then others where other can have young healthy glowy skin.

You have to look after your skin. YOU have to WANT to keep your skin hydrated.

It's normal to start developing wrinkles, dark circles.. but there are ways to prevent them from developing early. In true honesty you can't control but you can at least try to.

Drink a lot of water at least two liters a day!
Keep your skin moisturised all day long!
Vitamins help
MOST IMPORTANT SPF PROTECTION!! (Especially in summer)

Look after your skin. Don't let it age before it's time, wear sunglasses when it's sunny, protect your eyes from the sun rays.

Moiturise your face to keep the face moist and drink alot of water to keep it hydrated!

Tip: Use Matte eyeshadows when dealing with mature clients, any sparkle or glitter or shine can make the wrinkles or dark circles show up much more then they should!

Remember, Don't be afraid to try new things, Be YOU, Save your SKIN.

#4 Red Lips:

Red Lips. Most people would not even dare try out a red lip as they find red too much.

Red come in different shades and tones, there are coral reds, orange reds, dark reds, cherry reds so many different shades to choose from as not every red suit every skin tone.

I have tried quite a number of different red lipsticks and it always depends on what you think suits you.

Important: always use a lip liner because red lipstick bleeds and will look horrible.

One Good thing about Red Lips is that it lasts longer on the lips compared to any other coloured lipsticks.

Popular Red lipsticks are:
INGLOT : 127 or 126 which are bright red cherry toned red lipsticks
MAC : Russian Red or Ruby Woo, i currently own russian red which is a matte finish lipstick and is lovely.

Here are two different red lipsticks used on my skin tone;
1st one is with a cherry red
2nd is with a plum red

Remember, Try out red lipsticks before purchasing, find the right colour for you.

You learn a lot from others through books, blogs well anything really.

Like an example, i've always loved Lauren Conrad's style, i love her hair ideas, simple yet sophisticated makeup her fashion sense and clothing line.

Reading how to's and how to create your own style helps you yourself learn what style you have and what creates your personality and style.

If there is a hair style, makeup look you are looking for look for inspiration from books, tv or magazines and create your go on it.

Remember, be unique be yourself follow trends but with a twist of your personality.

#2 Long Lasting Foundation:

Do you want long lasting foundation? Do you want it to last all day for you?
If you want the answer to be a YES, then you have to use POWDER to set the foundation for it to last longer, very important!

It can either be a Loose Powder, this will give you the coverage that you need with a natural finish

or

You can use Pressed Powder, this will set the foundation but at the same time add colour to the skin.

The key to long lasting foundation is not the product itself, remember if its cream or liquid these foundation will not last long unless they are set with a powder.

The only foundation that will last long without the use of a powder is a mousse foundation that has the properties of a foundation and a powder in one as this sets as a foundation. Example: INGLOT Mousse Foundations

Use a big fluffy powder brush (ex 1SS from INGLOT) to set the powder all over giving it either a matte finish or a little bit of sparkle to the face and you'll be glowing.

Remember, Foundations will only last if you set the foundation, therefore powder is very important, without it you will not experience the full long lasting effect of a foundation.

Most Wanted Handbag & Purse/Wallet

My most wanted ever designer bag and purse. Im honestly not fussed on Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci or what not with labels all over the bag telling the whole world you own an expensive bag and you can afford one. In fact I love Balenciaga for one reason no Branding all over the bags!

WHY Balenciaga?

Balenciaga have their special touch, i just love the whole exterior of their bags and their simple gold touch to the bags and wallets. Back in '09 i think, they came out with the Black and gold hardware purse/wallet matching the handbags and till this very moment i'd love to grab my hands on one. But right now my current favorite at the moment is the Papyrus Colour the nude/beige Balenciaga.

I must admit, i first fell in love with this brand when Richie Nickel showed off his "First" Bag in Anthracite the lovely gunmetal grey. From then onwards i fell in love with the brand.

This year i said i'll put aside some money and instead of makeup which i think i have way to much of it honestly and do not need any more of it and instead use that money to save and treat myself to the one and only one designer bag and wallet.

My intention was to put away as much as i can a month and get it by the end of the year if i succeed which i know i am able to!

When you want something push yourself as hard as you can!!
I love how there are very little women going around with these bags.. I remember seeing one lady back in december '10 and she had the Black " First " Balenciaga bag and it looked ravishing! No one else knew it was a designer bag, as one would think it's just a normal bag .. I love the fact that i won't have that worry that someone will want to steal my bag as one would have to worry if they had a chanel " jumbo " handbag for example.

Vintage Finds

I love finding cute vintage pieces in boutiques around the place. Recent purchases bought by yours truly.

Camel Black Satchel:

A Mini Haul on what i bought today, a friend and I had a lovely drive to Bugibba then headed to Baystreet in St Julians for lunch at Hard Rock then wondered through the shops.

We stumbled upon a boutique downstairs and i spotted this lovely vintage bag in a shop window.
They had loads of different colours and i fell in love with this caramel/black satchel bag.
I loved how vintage it looked, and it reminded me of something i'd find in Topshop or Miss Selfridge.

Reaching one of my Goals

Having reached one of my goals at a very young age in 2011, being a makeup artist for the only professional company in Malta is quite challenging cause you're up with competition, but i was lucky enough to be chosen and i am grateful that i get to be apart of this wonderful road ahead.

Goal Reached:

I cannot express what an achievement it is to be wearing a badge like this. I've always wanted one and always thought of having one and i finally do.

It's amazing being part of an amazing team and working in the industry i've always wanted to be in.

I wear my badge with pride as i never thought i'd ever have one as my own, it feels good like i studied for it, had enough experience in the field to get where i am today.

Always follow you're hopes and dreams, Reach every goal and you will succeed if you want it bad enough!

#1 Foundation Disaster:

Yes, thats right my first one is for everyone out there who wears foundation and that is at least everyone of you reading this blog post!

Have you ever seen someone walk past you with a mask on their face? Well that is what it looks like having a dark coloured mask of foundation up to the jawline then white pale neck with NO BLENDING what so ever.

TIP: BLEND LADIES AND GENTS BLEND THAT FOUNDATION DOWN TO YOUR NECKLINE!!!!!!!

If you see someone you know you're friend, relative, colleague do not hesitate to tell them, "hey i think if you blend that piece down your neckline it would look better". You'll probably get a thanks for the heads up!

And if it looks THAT bad, then they surely are using their SUMMER foundation for the WINTER when honestly you are supposed to have a summer foundation and a winter foundation cause its obvious in winter we are nearly all pale as a ghost compared to summer with a tan!

Remember, You are taking the time in the morning to apply foundation so might as well spend that extra 5 seconds blending then having a two toned disaster!

December Purchases

Just a couple of purchases that i purchased in the month of decemeber. I finally got my River Island order included the gorgeous Camera Bag! A couple of dresses and my all time favorite blazer from Topshop!

Products:

Miss Selfridge Dresses Nude Dresses one for NYE and the other for my upcoming birthday on the 5th January, followed by my all time favorite grey blazer from Topshop for €91! Being there was only one size 8, i looked at my mum saying what to do?! and every single purchase bought were the last item in that style! So i couldnt leave anything behind cause i'd feel guilty! Specially the blazer i have been eyeballing the same one since Laura from Buy now Blog later showed off her's in a post last year.

My Gorgeous Camera Bag, My canon now has no excuse of being out and about in my bag anymore, having everything including my charger and usb everything in one bag. It's amazing cause most people wouldn't think there was a camera in that bag!

Cannot forget these! (yes my mum did write that!) We all love our Mr Kipling's Cherry Bakewell Tarts as they all remind us of home back in Nottingham. Being they are so hard to find in MALTA and mum managed to find a packet we still managed to split the box both mum, sister and me had 2 each as dad didnt mind not having! Lucky us!

I pretty much had so much makeup the day before that for new years i really wanted to focus on just my face products rather my eyes, so from the pictures you will know that the only eye product i have on my lids is the eye base from INGLOT and that's it! I spent the day at Radisson at Golden Sands it was amazing with country views and later that night we went out to Mdina to Fontanella for something to eat. This morning we had breakfast and OMG The food was delicious! Best mini Holiday yet!

Makeup Look - Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

I Thought i'd do a little post on what makeup look i decided to go for the New Year @Work as we were allowed to change it up for the day! It was an amazing busy day with loads of clients coming to get their makeup done and to all look fabulous getting everything done with nails, hair and after their makeup.

Overview:

I decided to go for a very smokey black/brown look with a pink/peach tinge in which i used the Pure Pigments no 50.

For those asking yes i do have extensions in! I decided to treat myself to some volume clip on's and they do wonders. The braid was used with three 1clip extensions using this video tutorial from FoxyLocksExtensions here

My 20th Birthday is coming up on Thursday the 5th! so i'll have some time to prepare some posts for my lovely readers out there!

I finally made my first order from RIVER ISLAND Online as they now ship to over 100 countries and Elle from http://maltabeauty.blogspot.com/ tweeted that they ship and i couldn't believe it! I went online yesterday night and made up a bag and then this morning i added and removed some things and rounded it up to 4 things to a total of £66 including postage. I Purchased 2 blazers, a camera bag as my camera has been neglected for some time now and i never got around to buying a bag for it and a keychain for my car key as it needs some glamour!

Review:

I already own alot of eyeshadows from INGLOT Cosmetics but i didnt own a pink shade for the look we were all wearing at the time. The pigmentation of their eyeshadows are amazing and range in different textures like matte, AMC shine, Pearl, Double Sparkle etc.

The pink shade is a pink-red shade with some shimmer and can be blended into a pale pink or packed onto the eye for a more intense shade of the colour, as for the purple you can have a very washed out purple where if you pack on the colour you'll end up with an intense purple shade that will make any eye POP! I love my base colour as i already own the beige colour in a single eyeshadow pot but i repurchased it again as the one i own is coming to an end.

The Rainbow eyeshadows were the ones i was dying to try! They come in so many colours and they are so pretty! I decided to opt for a more natural colour just to try it out and this shadow alone does wonders! The lightest shade as a base colour, the middle for the second colour and the third for the crease colour and they give such a natural look! Next i'll probably purchase the brown tones!

Review:

Having been given this set as a present, i am trying my best not to ruin them even though they are used in my daily routine including all my other INGLOT brushes used on a daily basis.
The bristles are soft and easy to work with.

They are used on a regular basis and are a great set even for beginners. My boyfriend knows i own too much makeup and now working at INGLOT im spending my monies there too! Therefore he went for something that i will use regularly and be able to try out myself.

Good morning blogette's,

Today is a new day but unfortunately i am abit unwell and stuck inside as i'm suffering from laryngitis and have a couple of days off work to heal.
But i have some news to share with all of you today.

I have a new job starting next Monday, which sadly means i am on my last days with Debenhams Malta and it's been an amazing time working with them as i have for the past year and 9months.
I was a sales supervisor and have now passed my duties onto a fellow team player there.

But non the less i am now going to be a regular face at.. INGLOT MALTA which is situated in Sliema.

My position is of course as a MAKEUP ARTIST and i have already met all the staff which were very welcoming.

Having bought alot of products from there myself, i'm very excited to be using them on a daily basis and seeing for myself the difference on other skin types.

Will keep you all updated on the whole scenario as i'm very excited!

Obey is a peachy bright pink thats creamy yet matt finish.

I see these lipsticks as long wearing as they sink into the lips like a dream.
