Black Cherry braved the cold and wet November weather to catch the last of the daylight in Brockwell Park. Whilst suffering with colds and winter ailments they still managed to smash out a couple of beautiful acoustic numbers. ‘Penguins and Moonboots’

Parisian trio We Were Evergreen were born in 2008, and have been creating a dedicated following since. There light, pop perfection has certainly captured the imagination of Brixton Sessions. When we are asked to join them for an afternoon at the Ice Bar it was no real surprise. Battling the freezing conditions the band still managed to produce some wonderful tracks, with harmonies and a mini piano. Please enjoy.

A first for BrixtonSessions, well in fact a second. Well, Jacques Labouchere is the first artist to do a second Brixton Session and we are very pleased to have him back. Jacques has been playing festivals this summer in and around his hometown of Gothenburg in Sweden, including the prestigious Peace&Love Festival. Jacques took a break from his mad UK tour to waltz down to a little park between Camberwell and Brixton to add some music to the summery scene. He is currently recording his third album…keep your ears to the ground.

Brixton Sessions caught up with talented Jack Savoretti to capture a performance in his dressing room before a recent London show. Jack’s sinuous, husky, emotive voice synthesises with his fluid, inventive guitar playing, so much so that you can hardly tell where one begins and the other ends. He sings and plays like a man born with a guitar in his hand.

We were filming with our friends in Brother recently, and couldn’t resist seizing the opportunity to grab a Brixton Sessions performance for our cameras. These lads have been everywhere of late, having just returned from the USA following a series of sell-out shows, and now heading out on the road with Morrissey, before hitting up the summer’s major festivals.

Here, they deliver a sterling acoustic performance of Still Here, taken from there debut album Famous First Words, released 1st August 2011.

Jamie Lawson took five minutes out of his hectic shoot schedule, on the set of his latest music video, to perform The Last Time for brixtonsessions. We’re all looking forward to seeing the music promo which sees Jamie and his travelling living room venture across the country. This rendition took place in a 8000sq ft warehouse, which makes a change.

The Daydream Club perform their single ‘The Record Shop’. Released on limited edition vinyl aimed to coincide with Record Store Day 2011.
‘The Record Shop’ was written as a tribute to the golden years of vinyl and independent record stores. It reflects on the current state of the industry, noting the demise in the value of the physical product in favour of digital technologies.

Dirty Goods are an Newport based, indie-electronic trio who came to Brixton in March to play a gig at the infamous “Roof-Dog” music bar, The Windmill. This acoustic version of their song Honest was recorded in the afternoon prior to sound check. The band are looking to release their debut album this year on Necessary Records and are looking forward to touring, a lot.
