Being a ticket seller for Broadway for a long time now, I make it my business to watch the "goings on" in the theater district.

After 32 years of selling Broadway tickets at Applause Ticket Agency (license #71AP1001028), I often wonder if this type of street marketing works. What I witness is that most of the tourists and 9 to 5'er's walking around seem to ignore these folks promoting the shows. Don't we have enough advertising when we turn on our televisions and radios?

Still, one of my colleagues, Todd- seems to think that the folks wearing the signage stand out better than the folks that simply hold show flyer's in front of people's faces. He feels that the signage resembles a billboard and if people are interested in a particular show, they can simply take a flyer. Then possibly go to the theater and purchase tickets. He may have a point when you think about it.

I spend lots of my time marketing my company Applause and every Broadway Show that ever plays in New York City. It is a difficult job sometimes as there seem to be more people and companies selling tickets than ever. I often wonder why many of the shows don't simply approach Applause and some of the other legit ticket sellers in New York City and ask us to sell their shows with some special marketing like e-broadcasts to our database of ticket buyers or sponsor mailings to our travel agency clients.

I guess this type of marketing is helping the shows, otherwise they wouldn't spend the money doing so, right? Still a bright business marketing expert by the name of Seth Godin probably would question whether this type of marketing is simply interruption marketing or whether it makes sense.

What do you think?

Sincerely,
Rich Gladstone
Applause Ticket Agency
311 West 43rd Street, suite 601
NY,NY 10036

Become a Facebook fan of Applause
Follow us at www.twitter.com/applausetickets

The 2006 Tony Award winner for Best Musical. Unlike most people I didn't get a chance to see the show until almost two years into it's run. At first it was because it was so hard to get a ticket. Then when I finally had the chance to see it I really wasn't sure if I wanted too. Yes I know the show was a big fat hit and everybody was calling looking for tickets. Didn't mean I was going to like it.

So there I sat in the last row of the Rear Mezzanine waiting for the show to begin. By the way the last row is still a good view no matter what you might have heard. So the show begins and I have to admit that from the very first song I was hooked. Now going into the show I knew at least the music would be good. It is Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons after all.

Anyway back to the show. What a fun night in the theatre. It's got great music. One of the most talented ensemble of actor's on Broadway and a story that will move and inspire you no matter who you are. That includes all you tough guys from Jersey who have been flocking to the show ever since it opened in 2005.

All in all you can't go wrong with Jersey Boys. It is a great show that I guarantee you will love. By the way good seats are available for most performances so don't delay. Get your tickets to see Jersey Boys on Broadway. It is a night that you will never forget.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

These native New Yorkers who have been going to a Broadway shows since they were kids called to get tickets to see the revival of Finian's Rainbow. In fact they had both seen the original production back in 1947.They were looking for tickets for the first weekend in December which is everybody knows is one of the most popular times in the city. I asked them if they had a preference of where they wanted to sit and they said they didn't care they just wanted the best view possible. I told them that in that in the St. James Theatre the first row of the Font Mezzanine overhangs very close to the stage so if you had a choice of Rear Orchestra or Mezzanine then upstairs would be better. He loved that. An hour later I called him back with two tickets in the third row of the Mezzanine a few seats off the aisle. Not only that but I got him an insider deal as well. Another satisfied customer. On November 16 Mary Poppins will celebrate it's third anniversary on the Great White Way. The show which is based on the beloved 1964 movie and the book of the same name first premiered in London in December 2004. Growing up as I child Mary Poppins was one of my favorite films. Although I was bit skeptical when they announced a live stage production. Not that I didn't think it would succeed. I was just afraid that nobody could ever live up to the amazing and Oscar winning performance of Julie Andrews.

It turns out I was worried for nothing. The show was better than I could have ever imagined. Now those of you who have read my blogs know my disdain for Disney on Broadway. This is different. First of all this is not one of their animated movie musicals that was transformed into a big splashy and over produced Broadway musical. Second the movie is a classic. The ticket industry is filled with hundreds of companies that consider themselves "legitimate" ticket brokers. Although there are many that in deed are legit, if you search for a list of ticket brokers- one by one you'll find out that many just want to sell you tickets that are listed on lots of other web sites. The price varies from site to site but if you want to talk about a show or the seating description, my guess is that you'll have a difficult time.

And why does this happen? Why are there hundreds of people/companies all claiming to sell Broadway theater tickets? Is it really possible that they all could possibly know what they're talking about. I say no way.

Today's technology allows for anyone with a few hundred dollars to start their own ticket agency. The problem I have with it isn't so much that it brings competition to companies like mine. It's that it is making it really confusing for the public to understand what they are getting for their hard earned money. The people that want to go to the theater and spend money on food and drinks and parking and hotel rooms. These folks are spending lots of money when they plan a visit to Broadway. Why should the ticket buying experience be one of confusion for them?

I personally speak with dozens of people every day about buying Broadway Show tickets. Very often by the time the public finally gets to us, they think tickets should cost them an arm and a leg. My concern isn't so much that I wish they had our company information so we could be of service, so much as it upsets me that most of these ticket companies really don't provide a good service.

When shoppers ask me how we can provide good seating in most of New York's theaters for reasonable prices after they were quoted outrageous rates from other ticket agents, I simply tell them Applause has been doing this for a long time. And we want our customers to return again and again. Hopefully sending referrals our way of course.

It's not easy being a small ticket company anymore as the larger ticket companies simply spend a ton of money on advertising. Still we keep moving forward as allot of these guys don't realize, is that in these recessionary times, the public doesn't like being taken for a fool. No way, not going to happen.

So our staff comes in day after day not really worrying about working hard to make a sale, even during these tough business times. We feel our competitors are doing our work for us.

Although we don't like the public getting beaten up with high prices and shoddy service when shopping for theater tickets, we do welcome the opportunity to serve the theater-going public.

Just to prove my point today, if you are looking for tickets for Broadway Shows, shop around then consider calling Applause. We guarantee the best prices and you'll be talking to your friends and family about our brand of service for a long time to come.

I hope this information was helpful.

Sincerely,
Rich Gladstone
Applause Ticket Agency
311 West 43rd Street, suite 601
NY,NY 10036

phone 212-307-7050
toll free 800-451-9930
Facebook fans of Applause
Follow us at www.twitter.com/applausetickets

The show which won seven 2008 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival, continues to delight audiences eight times a week at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. I had the pleasure of seeing the show during it's preview period and thought it was wonderful.

I had first discovered the show back in high school when I understudied the lead role of Emile de Becque and played Stewpot who was one of the sailors. Of course I never got to go on since there were only three performances. Regardless I fell in love with the show. So you can imagine my excitement when it was announced that South Pacific was returning to Broadway for the first time since the original 1949 production.

What an amazing night in the theatre. Classic songs, a stunning set, and a cast of Broadway veterans and newcomers who help to transform the audience to a small island in the South Pacific. Sounds like a winner to me. Get your tickets to see South Pacific on Broadway. They don't make shows like these nowadays so call now. You won't regret it.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

Not anymore. Two productions of Gypsy have come and gone in the last five years and recently it was announced that a new revival of La Cage aux Folles will be returning to Broadway this Spring. The last production which won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Revival ran less then a year and lost it's entire investment.

Now here we are and a new production of Ragtime is set to open less then ten years after the original production closed. The show while very popular lost any chance it had of a long run when it lost the Tony Award for Best Musical to The Lion King. Now I personally did not care for the last production. While I enjoyed the music it was a tad long and a little over produced for my tastes.

This new production which comes fresh off a very well received and sold out run in Washington D.C. is on a smaller scale and from what I have been told by my coworkers just as powerful as the 1998 version. I think I'll give the show another chance. I mean it wasn't all that bad. Maybe I'll see you there. The show which won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical is one of the most entertaining and touching shows to hit Broadway in many years. Ironically I was one of the last one's in my office to see the show as they had seen it during it's premier Off-Broadway in the Summer of 2007. Not that I wasn't interested. I just never got around to seeing it. Cut to February 2008 and the show moves to Broadway and becomes a smash hit. I finally got around to seeing the show about a month into it's run and fall in love with not only the message but the entire show as a whole.

First of all it has an eclectic score that features everything from hip-hop to salsa to your standard musical theatre fare. The cast is electric and the story touches your heart and makes you realize that nothing is impossible if you really believe in yourself. The show which is now in it's second year on Broadway still continues to pack them in eight times a week at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre. Call now to get your tickets to see In The Heights on Broadway. It is a night that you will never forget.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

It is a new musical which features a wide assortment of musical styles and subject matter that is rarely seen nowadays on the Great White Way. Going into the show I had heard some of the songs but that was pretty much all I knew except that it dealt with a family in crisis.

First off let me say that I loved the score. Not only is the music fresh and different but it really touches you in a way that most musicals of today do not. Yes the subject matter can be depressing and somewhat serious at times. Big deal. That's life. We have all gone thru things at one time in our life that have changed who and what we are. Some good. Some bad. It's how we cope with these changes that make us not only stronger but into the people we are today.

Sure the show may not be mainstream like Mamma Mia or Wicked. That's what makes it special. Shows like these don't come around too often. I applause the producers for taking a chance. Will the show be around in say or year or so? I don't know. I would like to think that there is a place on Broadway for a show like Next To Normal. Hopefully six months from now I will still be blogging about this amazing show. It's up to you.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

You only have thirty-two more chances to see film and stage star Jude Law perform the title role in William Shakespeare's Hamlet. The show which has been a big seller on Broadway and in the West End will play it's final performance on Sunday December 6 at the Broadhurst Theatre. The show which received rave reviews from the critics recouped it's entire investment last month. Not bad for a three hour show that most people have already seen either on Broadway before or at a regional theatre around the country. I guess having a star in the role helps. I personally have not seen the show. To be honest Shakespeare's not really my thing. Now maybe if they had somebody like Kate Winslet in one of his shows then I might change my mind. Regardless Hamlet is a big fat hit and should continue to sell well for the remainder of it's run. Get your tickets to see Hamlet on Broadway. It will be gone before you know it.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

Sure the show may not be perfect but it is a lot more entertaining then a lot of shows out there right now. I'll be the first to admit that I went into the show not expecting much.

I had never seen any of the movies so I wasn't really sure what to expect accept a singing ogre and his friends. I was not only pleasantly surprised but I had a great time. It's got great music, a funny yet touching story, and a cast that entertains and warm's your heart all at the same time. What more could you ask for in a Broadway musical? It's a shame that a show as good as Shrek couldn't find an audience. I guess Disney won the battle of the cartoon musicals after all. Can anyone take down the Mouse? The future looks bleak.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

Today marks the Jersey Boys fourth year on Broadway. I remember when the show was first announced back in early 2005 I wasn't too excited. Don't get me wrong. I like their music. I just wasn't sure how they were going to incorporate it into the show. Was it just going to be a concert or were they actually going to tell their story? It turns out I was worried for nothing. The show opened to rave reviews and became a massive it. Not only that but it won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical. Not too bad for a show that most people didn't think was going to be all that successful.

Two years into it's run I finally got a chance to see it. You see even thought it was a hit I was still a bit skeptical about whether I would like it or not. Once again I was proved wrong. I loved it. In fact I would put Jersey Boys up there with my favorite Broadway shows of all time. Now while the show was entertaining what really got me was the story.

Being a composer myself I know what it's like to have to work your ass off to get someone or anyone for that matter to hear your stuff. After seeing the show my struggles are nothing compared to what these four boys from New Jersey went thru to achieve their dreams. Enough about me. You can hear more about my show when it opens on Broadway in 2011.By the way that is wishful thinking on my part. Anyway back to the reason for my blog. Go see Jersey Boys. It is an amazing show that I know you will love if you just give it a chance. By the way you don't have to be a fan of their music or be from New Jersey to appreciate the show. Although it helps. Until next time theatre fans.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

This should be one of the bright spots for the current Broadway season. Let me explain why.

Firstly you will get to see two amazing Broadway regulars, Victor Garber (Damn Yankees, Lend Me a Tenor, Little Me, Deathtrap) and Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cry-Baby and many others). Present Laughter will play a limited engagement at the American Airlines Theater from January 2 through March 21, 2010 and is a Roundabout Theatre Company production.

This very funny comedy tells the story of a matinee idol called Garry as we witness him planning for an upcoming trip to Africa. Before not too long, Garry finds his beautiful London flat invaded by several people who turn his life upside down, including his estranged wife and a young playwright. All hell breaks loose before Garry gets to escape on his trip.

Direction of Present Laughter is by Nicholas Martin. The show is 2 and 1/2 hours long including 2 intermissions.

If you feel like just talking about Present Laughter, obtaining tickets to the show or need some restaurant suggestions when planning a visit to one of the many Broadway Shows, Applause Ticket Agency looks forward to your call.

I hope this information is helpful to you or someone you know.

Take care now.

Regards, Rich Gladstone
Applause Ticket Agency (NY State License #71AP1001029)
311 West 43rd Street, suite 601
NY,NY 10036
local phone 212-307-7050
toll free 800-451-9930

Become a fan on Facebook
Follow us at www.twitter.com/applausetickets

It's a place on my way walking home from work in New York City but very much within walking distance of many of the Broadway Theaters.

So I thought I would suggest you consider having dinner at Ristorante Il Melograno, located at 501 West 51 st Street on Tenth Avenue. Sure it is a 10 minute walk or very short cab ride to most of the Broadway theaters but very much worth the trip.

The restaurateur is Alberto Tartari who opened his first restaurant in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy in 1991. Mr. Tartari opened this restaurant some 20 years after visiting New York, always planning on returning to Hells Kitchen and doing so. He prides himself on using only the freshest of healthy ingredients in his cooking, the very concept that he used way back in his first restaurant experience. Most of the products used are imported from Italy. His breads and pastas are homemade and you would be hard pressed to find better in my opinion. Mr. Tartari doesn't use any MSG or trans fats in either of his two establishments. The Chianti and other wines are very tasty and inexpensive and don't even get me started about his desserts. they're awesome.

Tonight I had a Cesar salad, the Monk fish and risotto special and a glass of Chianti. It was a hearty meal and cost only $43.00 or so. Although I consider Il Molegrano a neighborhood restaurant, I know in my heart that many of our customers that we provide Broadway Show tickets to will love this place. Although the atmosphere is on the ordinary side in appearance, the excellent food and very capable and extremely friendly staff easily makes up for it.

Il Molegrano's web site is http://www.ilmelogranonyc.com/ . Their phone number is 212-757-9290. They are open 7 days a week with Brunch offered on Saturdays and Sundays.

This information is brought to you by Rich Gladstone from Applause Ticket Agency in New York City. And being from New York City all my life, although we usually have pretty cold weather at this time of year, we don't always have a White Christmas. With this in mind, I must tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed seeing White Christmas on Broadway when it played here last year. The show did so well wowing audiences, and making money of course, that it looks like White Christmas will be coming back each year around this time. So although it sounds kind of corny, it looks like there will be a White Christmas in New York City this year. Well at least the Broadway kind for sure.

Since this is an article about the Broadway Show called White Christmas, which was a very poplar show last year (2008), I thought I'd share some useful information with you regarding this years production. Right now you can consider contacting Applause Ticket Agency (License #71AP1001029) and obtaining tickets for this great show at reduced prices for many of its performances. Do bear in mind that during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, discounts are not valid as the show will sell out all their inventory. Still White Christmas on Broadway in conjunction with Applause Ticket Agency will hold great seats for you for this limited engagement of only 64 performances.

White Christmas is based on the wonderful classic film starring Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby as two former army pals who go onto become a very successful nightclub act. They find out that their former commanding officer who runs a little Vermont ski lodge is having troubles of his own and decide to pitch in and help stage a variety show that will help keep the "old man's" business afloat. Of course the two guys are both searching for love in their lives and lots of interesting things begin to happen when the guys meet up with a "sister act" that have plans of their own.

White Christmas on Broadway will have direction from Walter Bobbie with a book written by Paul Blake and David Ives. Randy Skinner provides the choreography with music supervision by Rob Berman. Irving Berlin wrote the music for the show which include many famous classics that you'll recall for sure.

White Christmas has a very talented cast of performers. They include James Clow (Assassins, Company, Blood Brothers), Melisa Errico (she's done lots of Broadway including High Society, Amour and My Fair Lady), Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy), Maria Davi (The Drowsey Chaperone, A Chorus Line), Ruth Williamson (White Christmas, La Cage Aux Folles), Peter Reardon (Urinetown, Passion), Remy Auberjonois (Frost/Nixon), Cliff Bemis (The Drowsey Chaperone, White Christmas), Madeline Rose Yen (Annie Get Your Gun, Peter Pan, Beauty and The Beast)and David Ogden Stiers (from the hit TV series MASH).

Here are some excellent reviews I've come across.

"This Cozy Trip Down Memory Lane Should be on Your Wish List."- Charles Isherwood-The New York Times

"A Holiday Card come to Life."- Joe Dziemianowicz-Daily News

"The Perfect Gift! Then there are people that love some of his work and don't like some of his other works.

Mr. Mamet has written some really good ones that were very popular runs on Broadway. They include Speed The Plow, Glengarry Glen Ross and American Buffalo.

Race is a new play by Mamet. It is about 3 lawyers, two are black and one is white. Their firm is about to defend a white man that is being charged for a crime against a black woman. I think we will be witness to there being some problems that develop on the lawyer's side regarding possible racial allegations.

Race has quite a talented cast that include James Spader (Boston Legal), Richard Thomas (The Waltons), David Alan Grier ( A Soldiers Story, In Living Color) and Kerry Washington (Lakeview Terrace, Ray). Race will be the first time Mr. Mamet will direct one of his own plays. This should be exciting for sure.

A local Broadway ticket agency called Applause has the inside track on discounted tickets of admission for Race. In conjunction with the producers of Race, Applause is able to obtain orchestra, front mezzanine and some mid mezzanine seats at prices that are Below Face Value. We call these our BFV ticket deals. Click here to see a current listing of several other Broadway shows you might want to see.

Right now these specially priced seats are good for performances through December 23, 2009. If the show is reviewed in a very positive way, it is possible that discount tickets will have to be stopped.

Being a huge fan of the hit TV series Boston Legal, I am looking forward to seeing James Spader play a lawyer in Race. He's one of the great actors of our time I think.

I hope you find this information about David Mamet's new show Race helpful to you or someone you know. If you want to talk about Race coming to Broadway, you can call Applause locally at 212-307-7050 or toll free at 1800-451-9930. There is never any pressure to buy tickets. We just consider ourselves folks who know Broadway Theater and love helping people make their plans.

Enjoy the Broadway Theater.

Sincerely,
Rich Gladstone
Applause Ticket Agency (license #71AP1001029)
311 West 43rd Street, suite 601
NY,NY 10036
website

Become an Applause fan on Facebook
Follow us at www.twitter.com/applausetickets

The only catch is tickets need to be purchased by December 20, 2009.

Bye Bye Birdie is a production of the Roundabout Theatre Company which also has a few other shows playing in New York right now including After Miss Julie and Wishful Drinking. This production is the first revival in 50 years for Bye Bye Birdie and stars some of my all-time favorite actors- John Stamos, Gina Gershon, Bill Irwin, Jayne Houdyshell, Dee Hoty and Nolan Gerard Funk (who plays the lead Conrad Bridie). Bye Bye Birdie is a cute story about an emerging rock star, his manager and what unfolds as the lead in the show-Conrad Birdie is about to join the military. The show has a book written by Michael Stewart with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Lee Adams and direction and choreography by Robert Longbottom.

I've seen the show a few weeks ago and although I think they could have made some artistic changes in the show, for the most part it is an enjoyable little musical. Although many songs may seem memorable to those who choose to buy tickets for this version of Bye Bye Birdie, the best thing about the show seem to be its lead stars, Gina Gershon (gorgeous and talented) and John Stamos, an actor who has made quite a name for himself on stage, in film and in television as well.

If you think you or someone you know might want to see this Bye Bye Birdie, we can help you score some top priced seats, at prices that won't scare you away. Interested ticket buyers can contact a local Broadway ticket agency called Applause. Tonight will mark the official start of the 2009-2010 New York City Opera season. Included in this season's offerings are such classics as Don Giovanni and Madame Butterfly. It's funny but in all the years that I have lived in New York I have never been to an opera. I had always wanted to see La Boheme because it was based on my favorite show of all time Rent. Considering it plays here every year I figure I'll eventually get around to seeing it.

Now while we specialize in getting tickets for all Broadway and Off-Broadway shows we do have access to tickets to all events in New York as well as Nationwide. So if you are looking for tickets to Opera, Ballet, Sports, or Theatre than Applause is the place for all your tickets needs. Why not give us a try? So, short of inviting everyone over to my apartment I have put together a list of reasonably priced restaurants close enough to the theatre district. I also chose restaurants with a child price and menu as many who have been asking are families. So here they are:

Brasserie 44 (212-944-8844)
We will be offering a traditional Thanksgiving dinner w. all the trimmings ($70/adult; $35/child).

Brasserie 81/2 (212-829-0812)
Make your Thanksgiving feast a breeze this year & indulge in Chef Julian Alonzo's delicious 3-course prix-fixe menu ($49/adult; $24.50/child). I am of course talking about Wicked. The show which celebrated it's sixth year on Broadway just last week continues to sell out nightly at the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway. Not only that but it continues to break box office records at theatres all around the world.

I saw the show during it's preview period in 2003 and while I enjoyed it I never expected it to become the phenomenon that is has become. I don't think anybody did. Every year there are rumblings about them turning the show into a movie but I think it would be wise to wait a few more years. A movie is not going to make them sell any more tickets than they already have. Regardless Wicked is here to stay. It is Broadway's most "Popular" show after all. Get your tickets to see Wicked at a theatre near you. Don't forget. We are just a phone away.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

The tag line was "Broadway's Sure Thing". It got me thinking. When it comes to Broadway nowadays the term "Sure Thing" doesn't really apply anymore. Gone are the days when any big musical from London was an automatic hit. Yes Billy Elliot is very popular and was showered with awards but seats are usually available for most performances. In the state that the economy is in people simply can't or won't shell out a $126 to see a show that may or not be any good.Look at something like Memphis. It got great reviews across the board and yet last week they were at 60% capacity. What does that tell you?

Look Broadway isn't going anywhere. There will always be plenty of new shows or revivals coming in each and every season. That will never change. However if Broadway is going to thrive then the price of the ticket either needs to go down or the costs of the productions do. When a show like Spider-Man needs to spend $52 million on a show then something needs to change. It is just one man's opinion. Until next time theatre fans.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

Well look no further than Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific. Not only does the show contain some of the most beautiful music ever written for the American musical theatre but it is also one of the most romantic shows on the Great White Way. The show which won seven 2008 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival continues to enchant audiences eight times a week at Broadway's Vivian Beaumont Theatre.

I had the pleasure of seeing the show right before it opened last year and thought it was one of the most visually stunning productions I have ever seen. Not too mention a cast of Broadway veterans and newcomers who made the stage come alive. If you get a chance on your next trip to New York I highly recommend you see it if you get the chance. Well what are you waiting for? Now is the best time to see one of Broadway's biggest hits. The show which first premiered in London is not only a huge hit on Broadway but all around the world. In fact it's been estimated that over 30 million people have seen Mamma Mia since it first opened in 1999. Not bad for a show that nobody thought would make it in the first place.

Now I personally have never seen the show. Mamma Mia is here to stay. That you can count on.

JWB
Applause Theatre and Entertainment
311 West 43rd Street
Suite 601
New York,NY 10036
212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930

http://www.applause-tickets.com/

Follow us at http://twitter.com/applausetickets
Facebook: Applause Theater and Entertainment Service,Inc

The celebration includes Lincoln Center Theater's show now in previews at the Lyceum Theater called In The Next Room, or the vibrator play. Although I have plans to see the show personally within the next week or so (I see them all), it sounds like In The Next Room, or the vibrator play should be a very funny, touching, provocative and entertaining story. It's about a young doctor and his wife. Dr. Givings is played by Michael Cerveris and his wife Catherine by Laura Benanti. I last saw Ms. Benanti in Gypsy and she was amazing.

Sarah Ruhl is the writer of this play. Ms. Ruhl must have wondered why back in the 1880's that medical doctors used "vibrator therapies" on some of their female patients to treat episodes of hysteria. It appears that hysteria was a real diagnosis. One that was often given to women in that era. It seems that it was a common way to treat this medical condition was with electrical stimulating machines or what is commonly thought of now- vibrators.

In the show, apparently Dr. Givings is one of those people who is completely obsessed with all the latest technology. With this in mind, the good doctor is always seeking to find out how this technology can help his female patients. Although he doesn't quite understand exactly "how the vibrators help", his patients always come back for more treatment. Catherine, his wife, only gets to hear sounds that come from the doctor's treatment room. Catherine wants to be closer to her husband but not necessarily by electric means. I guess you may want to get some tickets to find out exactly what happens.

In The Next Room, or the vibrator play is directed by Les Waters with set design by Annie Smart. David Zinn, Russell Champa, Brad Poor and Jonathan Bell are responsible for costume design, lighting design, sound design and original music.

In The Next Room, or the vibrator play opens officially on Broadway on November 19, 2009. Prior to its opening, the local ticket experts at Applause Ticket Agency (NY State license #71AP1001029) can offer the public amazing seats in the orchestra section of the Lyceum Theater for below face value prices. What this means is we can get you into the show for below the regular cost price of the tickets. In fact, if you purchase your tickets before the shows opening night, we can extend the special offer through January 10, 2010.

Where else can you obtain tickets for In The Next Room, or the vibrator play or any of the other Broadway Insider Price Shows for less than the regular cost price. Oh and did I forget to mention the outstanding personal service Applause has?

Our toll free number in New York is 800-451-9930 or you can call us locally at 212-307-7050 seven days a week.

What are you waiting for?
