There couldn't have been better timing for me to try Packaways Reusable Storage Boxes! My family is in the process of moving into a new home. I was sent 2 packaways boxes for review. These boxes came in handy and were a much better option than a traditional box. They fold flat when they are not in use, so they were easy to set aside until we were ready to pack. They have a place on the side for a label, which was perfect for labeling which room in the house the box would need to go into. They are re-usable, so it is a much better option than cardboard boxes. They also come in multiple colors, which makes color coordinating organization easy. I wish that we would have had enough of these to fit all of our belongings. I would recommend them to people looking to organize and store their things, or to use them for a move.

I was sent a One Size Pocket Diaper for review. This diaper is designed to fit from birth to potty training (about 10-35lbs). The adjustable rise snaps on the front and the snaps along the top make that possible. The diaper can be adjusted to the size of the baby as they grow. This diaper is a great fit on my itty bitty skinny little baby. I also have friends with babies who are large and this brand of diaper also fits them well. I used this diaper for a few weeks and it has been through many washes. I haven't seen even one sign of a leak. This diaper can be used for day time wear or night time wear. The great thing about the pocket style is that more material can be added for extra absorbancy. So, if you would like to use this diaper at night or on a child who tends to be a heavy wetter, just add more into the pocket. The material of the insert is a mix of other materials and zorb2. It folds easily to fit inside the pocket and provides many layers of absorbency. We have never had a leak with this diaper. I would personally recommend this diaper to anyone looking for a great fit, ease of use, and no leaks.

My toddler daughter also loved them. She thinks that they are toys. So, I let her have one of them and took the ink out of it. So, I can say that it makes a great toddler toy. She was fascinated with it and carried it around with her for about an hour.

I'm back!!! I took a leave of absence from the blog for about a month. I suffered from an artery dissection and multiple strokes. I am so blessed to be improving each day. I may not post as much at first, but I am hoping to slowly return to the blogging world, starting today. Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, and support. Stay tuned for future posts about what happened, where I go from here and how you can help.

In the meantime, here are some adorable photos from the 4th of July. They are a few weeks late on being posted, but, better late than never right?

Awesome Gun T-shirts! Review

My husband is one happy man! Why? Because he received 2 awesome gun t-shirts for review! He is a combat veteran that sure loves guns, so these shirts are perfect for him. The first is a shirt that says AR-15. He loves this one because that is the gun that he used in Iraq. The second says "Bullets Make Me Happy" and that couldn't be more true! Both of the shirts are a great fit. They aren't too wide like many other t-shirts the he complains about. They are also both very soft, which is very important to him. Since receiving the shirts, he wears them both about twice a week. So, they make up almost half of his wardrobe at the moment. I think it is safe to say that they are his favorite shirts.
The shirts also look great on women. :) I may or may not wear them as sleep shirts on occasion. Check out these cute ladies wearing the shirts.... a woman can totally pull them off too. I bet your husband would love to see you in a gun enthusiast shirt! These really are the best gun shirts!

Where Has Brookie Been?

Hi. I just wanted to let you all know that I am still here. I am taking a leave of absence from my blog for a bit because of a recent medical issue. I suffered from an artery dissection that lead to multiple strokes. I am improving each day, but it will be a long road to recovery. I do still have a few product reviews that I will be writing soon. I had received products before my stroke. I should have those up soon, and then I will be gone for a little while, but I do plan to come back after I have had some time to recover. I appreciate all of the love and support that I have received and thank you for being understanding.

I first became interested in couponing when I watched Extreme Couponing on TLC. I was fascinated with how theses people were getting enough free groceries to feed an army. Some of them even MAKE money by doing it. I was instantly hooked and had to learn how it was being done. I had heard that some people in my area were offering classes, but none of them were at times that were convenient for me. I tried to figure it out on my own, and I got a few really good discounts and free items, but only a few dollars worth. I knew that there was more to the process that I was missing. Copy-Kids is a DVD series designed to get very young children excited about eating fruits and vegetables. It shows kids having such a good time eating fruits and veggies, that when children watch it they want to join in. Featuring well-known pediatrician, Dr. Jay Gordon, this product is a positive approach in the quest to get children eating healthy from the start.
I was sent a copy of this DVD to review. As some of you may know, baby M is a VERY picky eater. Getting her to eat anything, let alone fruits and vegetables, is a big accomplishment. In the past few months, I have started to get worried that she may not be getting the nutrition that she needs. So, we have resorted to pediasure for now. So, when I saw the opportunity to review a product that may get my child more interested in eating healthy (or eating at all), I jumped at the chance.
Baby M loves the DVD. Her favorite part is the bird. Every time he comes on screen and says and signs "bird". She also loves to watch other children. It is one of the things that really draws her in about this DVD. Even though all that the kids on the DVD are doing is eating - she loves to watch. I like to put this DVD on when she is eating, so that she will see the kids eating and be encouraged to do the same. Watching a program in general does help to distract her enough to get her to eat without throwing a tantrum. But, this DVD takes the extra step in showing other children eating healthy foods and it makes her want to do the same. As of now, we have accomplished a few bites. I am hoping over time she may eat even more fruits and vegetables.

Copy-Kids has won two children's excellence awards, One from Dr. Toy & one from MACT. They were approved by the USDA and added to their Education and Training Materials Database for pre-school nutrition.

Weekly Weigh In - Round 2 - Week 10

Well, it came and went. The first round of the 10 year high school reunions was this weekend (I went to 2 high schools). I lost another pound! That is a total of 16 pounds since re-starting my weight loss plan and 65 pounds since baby M was born. I am now only 5 pounds away from my goal weight! It feels great. It was so fun to be able to go to the reunion and feel great about the way I looked rather than be self concious. I now have just over a month until the next reunion, I really want to be at my goal weight for that one! This one will be with the people that I went to school with from 6th-11th grade. It will be great to see everyone.

Weekly Weigh In - Round 2 - Weeks 8 & 9

I apologize that I didn't check in last week. It's been a great 2 weeks for weight loss. Since I last blogged, I lost another 2 pounds! I have lost 15 pounds since re-starting my weight loss plan and 64 pounds since baby M was born. I have 6 pounds left until I meet my weight loss goal.
I have been taking a lot more stroller walks since the weather has been nice. M loves to see the birds and the cars and I love to get the chance to spend time with her while getting some exercise. My husband went with us on a hike this weekend, it was so beautiful. I had my birthday over the weekend, so I let myself have a break from diet and exercise, but I am back on plan starting today. My first high school reunion is this weekend. We aren't going to the official reunion, but my friends and I are going to a reunion party the night before the official reunion. I still have a few weeks until my second reunion (which is for a different school that I went to from 6-11th grade before it was closed, it was a private school). Hopefully I will meet my weight loss goal before that reunion. With only 6 pounds left to go, I really think I can do it!
