        Three Dutch musical acts&mdash;<a href="http://www.varekampjazz.com/">Michael Varekamp</a>&rsquo;s Caribbean jazz ensemble, the&nbsp;rock band <a href="http://www.evenimusic.com">EveNi</a>, and Lee-Ursus Alexander&mdash;create a <i>gezellig</i>, or cozy, atmosphere.  This program is made possible with support from the Consulate General of the Netherlands in New York as part of its NY400 Celebration.<br /></p>

        <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0139714/"><i>La Vie du Christ</i></a> (<i>The Life of Christ</i>) (Alice Guy Blach&eacute;, 1906, 34 min., NR). This silent film by the first female director draws on James Tissot&rsquo;s paintings of the life of Jesus Christ as inspiration for its backgrounds. Judith Dolkart, former Associate Curator of European Art and curator of the exhibition <a href="/exhibitions/james_tissot/"><i>James Tissot: &ldquo;The Life of Christ,&rdquo;</i></a> and Joan Simon, Curator at Large at the Whitney Museum, introduce the film and answer questions following the screening. Presented in conjunction with the <a href="http://www.whitney.org">Whitney Museum</a>. Live piano accompaniment provided by <a href="http://www.silentfilmmusic.com/">Ben Model</a>. <i>Free tickets are available at the Visitor Center at 5 p.m.</i><br /></p>
