“Time to Build” is the first single from the forthcoming DJ Czarny & Tas second album – the follow-up to their debut “Passion, music, hip-hop” from 2011. The track features rapper/singer Ozay Moore (formerly known as Othello of Lightheaded). New LP will be released on the June 7th, 2013.

Dedicated to “the lover in you”, Pelican Fly released a short preview of Sam Tiba‘s forthcoming The Saddest Show In Town EP. Tiba showcases tweaked his usual hard hitting club style to a more subdued, 4 track collection of vibes that also feature a collaboration with his Club Cheval partner Canblaster, who lays down some amazing Nujabes-esque keys and vocoded vocals. May 20th is the day we finally get new material from Tall Black Guy. Raised on a healthy diet of Motown, Jazz and early Hip Hop – Terrel Wallace (aka Tall Black Guy) has established himself to be one of the most influential producers working today. His debut album 8 Miles To Moenart takes in low-slung hip hop, downtempo house and jazz-tinged street soul. Largely instrumental, he’s also added some choice collabs with Ozay Moore (formerly known as Othello) and Diggs Duke, bringing their own unique styles to the melting pot. This record encapsulates the musical heritage of Detroit, through the looking glass of Tall Black Guy’s own signature sound.

Latin Concrete is a double CD compilation comprising one mixed and one unmixed CD  featuring a selection of modern producer-led Latin dancefloor cuts, amongst them you will find a bunch of Brooklyn Radio affiliates, like Captain Planet, DJ Center and Nickodemus. The mix below is a half hour extract from the full one hour mix featured on the album. With this month’s passing of Jamaican sax player Cedric ‘Im’ Brooks, we recall his legacy as not just another reggae musician, but a true ambassador of what he himself referred to as “third world” music. I pay a small tribute to him at the beginning of this new mix, then leading into other artists from genres that he touched on (and was influenced by), such as Afrobeat and Carribean funk and disco. The end result is another 60 minutes of me mixing beats and blurring the lines.
