Brown + Wallace have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious qualified building surveyor to join our busy expanding building surveying team with excellent opportunity for career progression. The candidate should show enthusiasm and commerciality in all aspects of building surveying, and be a team player. The successful candidate will have the ability and ambition to promote the business and be a key part of our team.

The role will involve a mixture of professional and project based building surveying work on all types of commercial property for high quality public and private sector clients.

Duties will include undertaking building surveys, defect investigation reports, schedules of conditions and planned maintenance surveys, dilapidations, including preparation of schedules and negotiating settlements, recording schedules of condition. Acting as Lead Consultant for various refurbishment projects, briefing clients, design specifications, coordinating specialist consultants, obtaining local authority consents, budget cost advice, tendering, and contract administration.

The candidate will be expected to show a professional attitude and appearance in this client facing role, be well organised and self-motivated. Candidates should also have good written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop on a personal and professional basis.

An attractive remuneration package commensurate with the candidate’s level and experience is offered.

Kevin Stewart MSP, the Scottish Government Minister for Local Govt & Housing cut the ribbon at Kippen Dairy on Tuesday this week to mark the completion of the development by Caledonia HA on behalf of Cordale HA and Dunbritton HA. B+W provided Cost & Project Management services on the project delivered under the SCAPE Framework. Providing 72 new build and 14 refurbished homes as well as public realm enhancements across 6 sites, the development is a key part of the regeneration of Renton & Alexandria town centres. Robertson Construction worked in partnership with the Client group and the Design Team to deliver these energy efficient homes.

The Clydeside Distillery

The Clydeside Distillery for Morrisons Glasgow Distillers Ltd has started on site.

Brown + Wallace are providing Quantity Surveying services on this exciting development which involves the refurbishment of the existing Pump House Building and the construction of a new whisky distillery and visitor centre at the Queens Dock on the banks of the River Clyde in Glasgow.

The project is expected to finish in Autumn 2017 with the first batches of whisky being made later in the year.
