OMG I am going to get right to it. I freaking LOVE (L-O-V-E) these Curls products! I received them for no cost at the Let Down Your Hair Expo that took place in Brooklyn several weeks ago.

The scent of these hair products by Curls is intoxicating. They smell SO good. Even better than the scent, these two products play nicely with my natural hair.

It is such a pleasant surprise for me to be pleased with the products I received because a couple of years ago I purchased Curls Creme Brulee from Target and gave it away at a swap meet. It left my hair so tangled I never thought I’d use another product from Curls again. Then, I was advised by a curl friend that Curls distributes lower end products at places like Target (where I purchased the Brûlée). The Lavishing Curls and Blissful Lengths is also sold at Target so that leaves me more shocked at how much my hair likes these products.

Curls Lavish Curls Moisturizer

The Lavish Curls Moisturizer took so well to my hair which is shocking because it contains glycerin  I purchased a bottle of Nothing But Curl Wakeup Spray a while back and my hair hates the stuff. I thought it was the high glycerin content (it’s right toward the beginning of the ingredient list) but now that must not be the case because the Lavish Curls spray also contains glycerin at the beginning of the ingredient list.

I’m not sure what caused my hair to hate Nothing But’s curl reviving spray but I don’t even care now. I gave it away and I’m in love with Lavish Curls!

Curls Blissful Lengths Oil Elixir

This blend of natural oils is delicious! It contains Soybean, Coconut, Sweet Almond, Kakunut, Evening Primrose, Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter, Grape Extract, vitamin E and Silk Amino Acids.

While these are yummy oils for your hair, it’s not clear that this elixir is fully natural It does contain fragrance (no other info than that). I’m not concerned though. i’m too in love at this point and my hair is happy

My skin has gone through some changes over the years. I used to have very clear skin when I was younger. Then, when I hit my early 30s, I caught an awful case of acne.  I think it was hormones but I digress.

Fast forward to today and I’m back to almost having perfectly clear skin again (minus some old blemishing).  What I’ve discovered is never under estimate the power of a good facial mask.

Having skin that’s prone to being oily in the summer and dry in the winter, I had to discover a product that would tone and tighten my skin while also removing impurities. I think I hit the jackpot.

Aubrey Organics Green Tea & Green Clay Rejuvenating Mask

Now, you know I love me some Aubrey Organics. My weekly indulgences of Glycogen Protein Balancing Conditioner, Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner and Green Tea Cream Rinse is almost cult-like. My hair just loves the stuff (see the links in the related posts below). It’s no wonder my skin feels the same aura of emotion. It IS however,  a wonder I didn’t think to try Aubrey Organics facial products sooner.

Wait.

I didn’t know Aubrey Organics made facial  products! Duh

I’m so happy that they do because this facial mask is the business. It leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean and…toned. After use, my skin stays balanced with oil and moisture for the day. On top of that, I notice my skin clarity improving. I’m a happy camper.

I purchase all of my Aubrey Organics hair and skin products at the Vitamin Shop. It’s convenient to get it from there but not as cost effective as I would like. I need to find a new supplier for my crack products. Any suggestions?

This summer I’ll be exclusively using Aubrey Organics’ sunscreen. I used to use Neutrogena sunscreen and while I was happy, I’m even happier to use my beloved brand of choice, Aubrey Organics.

Chances are you wash your face and moisturize it at least daily. (You do, don’t you?) Especially, if you wear makeup. Even if you don’t, the daily practice of washing and moisturizing is something that’s necessary for the health of your skin.

So, is that it? Of course not.

Washing and moisturizing your skin is only the start of a solid skin care regimen. There are other habits to acquire that are essential to making your skin care routine complete.

Toning

This is an often skipped step in many skin care regimens. Yet, it’s very important. Toning closes your pores after your face has been washed or steamed open. It’s the step that should be done before applying your moisturizer.

Exfoliation

There’s much debate surrounding how often you should exfoliate. Some women exfoliate every day while some don’t do it all.

Exfoliation is a necessary part of any healthy skin regimen because it removes dead skin cells that make your complexion appear dull. It should be done at least once a week but no more than twice a week depending on your skin type. If your skin is dry and/or sensitive, once a week is sufficient.

Using Eye Cream

Some younger women fall prey to thinking that eye cream is only for old ladies. It’s a myth. The skin around your eyes is very sensitive. It’s prone to damage even while you are sleeping. Age has nothing to do with that. Then, there are environmental factors to consider like sun exposure.

Regardless of your age, adding an eye cream to your nightly routine can be beneficial. Adverse to cream? It’s rumored that Jamaican Black Castor Oil can help repair damaged skin around the eyes. I’ve not tried it yet but plan to.
