The show was a blast, but very very long. 10 days is a long time to work an event like that, but the infamous Magic Cooler at Laguna's booth made it go by much quicker. For our first big show here at home I was more than pleased with the results. We sold virtually every Devil Eye and Big Eyed Mullet that we brought, along with a lot of the B&L Original Tails, every single Quick Connect Clip we could find and the new Bismuth Jig Heads were also hot. It was interesting how many people looked at the jig heads and were amazed at how light they are.

We learned a lot at this show, and I'm definitely looking forward to the Fishing Show at the George R. Brown Convention Center now. We will still be nearby Laguna Rods but will have our own booth this time--anyone that came by on Saturday and waited in line to look at a pack of lures or a rod should understand why--and we are going all out with making an impact on this show. I won't say too much this early on, but we could have some new product(s), displays and all sorts of other goodies ready when the Fishing Show starts on February 28th.

Mobile post with pics.

This is a test to see if i would be able to do live reports from the water. This could be really interesting. Especially because this instantly goes from the water to every subscribers email or homepage. I think i can set it up so that subscribers comments are also forwarded to my phone, which of course is with me while fishing!

Upcoming Events

Hopefully all of you have had a nice holiday break so far, and maybe even got a chance to go fish once or twice. Unfortunately, all of us here have been stuck in the shop trying to fill orders and stock up for all of the upcoming shows so there won't be any fishing trips for the next few weeks. Since I won't get a chance to do any testing for a while I gave some more prototypes of our newest lure (the name shall be revealed soon...) over to the guys (and gals) from Team Paddlecast and Team Reelin' Chix to test out. If you haven't already watched it yet check out the film we got from the Paddlecast boys (Click here). Matt and his wife Beckie also went again just a few days ago and had a very productive day. Take a look at the 39" Redfish he pulled in on the new lure over on Five-O's blog.

A quick reminder on some upcoming events:

January 5-14 Houston Boat Show @ Reliant Arena
(We will be sharing a booth with Laguna Rods)

February 28- March 4 Houston Fishing Show @ George R. So far on two trips it has produced very well and now it's time to get it ready for production. On the first trip with Team Paddlecast, Five-0 and Foulhooked both had fish on their first casts, and I hadn't even anchored up yet! This last trip yesterday was also productive despite poor conditions and almost all of our fish were on the new lure. The top producing colors on both trips were Amber with a Chartreuse tail, Pearl and Chartreuse, and a solid Chartreuse color.

We did manage to get some film yesterday. At BrownLures.com you can see clips from Five-0 and Jake's trout caught on the new lure, plus a trout Foulhooked pulled in off a small shrimp tail and my redfish on our small mullet tail.

28 Inch Trout

One of our great friends Charlie King aka "FlatfishCharlie" posted his great catch on our lures at 2coolfishing.com.

"I caught this beautiful trout yesterday.
