18 Electrifying Lightning Brush Strikes

Electrify your artwork with these 18 stunning lightning brush strikes! They're easy and come in 3 of the most useful formats:
• Photoshop lightning brushes (512px, 1024px, 2048px)
• Photoshop lightning patterns (64px, 128px, 256px, 512px 1024px)
• JPEG images (2048 px)

Because these graphics are seamless, you can repeat the same lightning on top of each other to create lightning strikes of any length. Use this technique to create long lightning lines then use the Puppet Warp feature in Photoshop (Edit Puppet Warp) to distort it.

BONUS: Retro curves preset to complement these lightning strikes!

Environment Brushes

A collection of all the brushes I find myself dabbling with when doing environment artwork. Typically a select few are used much more than the others but they all certainly have their uses. The image in the background is made entirely using the brushes found in this set, with every brush being used at least once. I normally don't use them so extensively or so exclusively when painting and I certainly don't encourage it, but in the very least it shows what they can achieve. Please remember folks that good art is not all about the brushes you use. They are as much a tool as photoshop itself and should be viewed as such when you're still learning.

Some of the brushes have been made by myself and the rest have been tweaked from others that are freely available on the internet.

They should all work in Photoshop CS3 and above but I cannot vouch for older versions, sorry

Hopefully some of you will find them as useful as I have over the years

Ooh so sexy hair brush

Many have been asking about how I render Oghren's body hair. This is the brush! I made this with PSCS5. It is inspired by a brush in a collection I downloaded from the web. Unfortunately, I can't recall where I got the original download, so I made a new version of the brush from scratch. I would suggest that you try to recreate your own hair brush to give your work a personal touch. Either way, this is free to use as you wish.

Another set of halo brushes! People did some gorgeous things with the last set, and I hope this one is as much fun!

This is a PhotoShop 8 brush set with 8 large-scale brushes. It should work with Gimp, Corel, etc. All halos are hand-drawn with ink.

More goodies for my lovely watchers, consider this one a holiday present! @ u @
I made these brushes while enjoying a pot of coffee a while ago (which later killed my insides) and decided to turn them into brushes! And shame on me for just getting around to posting them. These were all created using coffee straight from the pot (watered down here and there) and salt to get some textures and variety of darkness as well as design. These were created in Photoshop CS2 and should be compatible from CS2 and onward~

Rules - If you use them, please give me credit and a link back to either this deviation or my page would be greatly appreciated! :D You can use these for anything you want, including commercial work. The only thing I don't allow is selling the brushes exactly as they are, so that means don't stamp them on a plain white bg and try to make cash off them.

Today I created a new brush package which includes free Cool Arrow Brushes. You can download this brush set for free here. These brushes can be used for personal and commercial use and you don’t have to link back to us. This package contains 4 brushes “between 600px and 1000 px wide” and are created with Photoshop CS4, so you will need Photoshop CS4 or up to use these brushes.
