Thanks to all of you who volunteered your time to staff the BSSEF fireworks booth in Big Sky last week.  The preliminary report is that the sale was successful.

  • A special thank you to the Cox and Ueland families.  We appreciate all of the time you put in for the benefit of our kids.
  • Almost two-thirds of the available shifts were filled this year. 
  • Volunteers representing the entire team - Alpine, Freeride, and Nordic - participated in this year's sale.

Shifts are available from June 24th through July 5th.  Check the BSSEF online calendar to see which shifts are open.

There are three, three hour shifts per day:

  • The Early shift is 11AM to 2PM
  • The Afternoon shift is from 2PM to 5PM, and 
  • The Evening shift rums from 5PM to 8PM 

Please volunteer for at least two shifts. It's fun and easy. Details regarding access to the booth, sales materials, etc. are forthcoming.

The Silver Run Ski Team is hosting a Northern Division summer (Alpine) ski camp at Twin Lakes Headwall near Red Lodge, Montana, from June 14 to June 20, 2009.  The coaching staff will include Cole Greer (Silver Run), Roger Bay (Bridger Bowl), and Jeremy Ueland (Big Sky) plus others, depending on the number of participants.  A $200 non-refundable deposit is due May 1, 2009.  Contact Jeremy Ueland or Cole Greer (406-425-1474 or by e-mail) for more information.

Participants will arrive 6/13/09.  The first day on snow will be June 14th.  There will be three days on snow; one day off snow; and three additional days on-snow.  The last day of the camp will be June 20th.


There are three participation options:
  1. The full session including housing, meals, and chaperones is expected to cost around $1,100.
  2. The full session excluding housing and meals (i.e. athletes will stay with their parents) will cost about $700. 
  3. A half session (on-snow June 14-16) excluding housing and meals (i.e. athletes will stay with their parents) will cost approximately $350.
Final costs will be a function of the number of participants.

To hold your place, send a $200, nonrefundable check payable to "Silver Run Ski Team" to Cole Greer's attention at P.O. Box 126, Red Lodge, MT  59068.  Cole will send you a medical release, a liability release, a code of conduct form, and a term agreement.
