How to install Turbo C on Windows 7(32bit & 64bit)

To install Turbo C on Windows 7 64bit :
Many of my friends having Windows 7 64bit, are using Virtual Window installing softwares to run Turbo C by using Windows XP.But here`s the simple solution for this.
This problem can be resolved using a mere 1.38MB software named DOSBox thus saving your lot of pc hardware and software utilization. So inorder to get things work we need to follow these steps :
- Install the software DOSBox. download here
- Download and extract TC. download here
- Make sure that the DOSBox and TC are in the same directory and the TC.exe application is in the Folder TC>>BIN>>TC.exe for this to work.
- Run DOSBox
- Type the following commands at the command prompt mount d c:
- Now you should get a message which says: Drive D is mounted as a local directory c:
- Type d: to get into d:
- Next follow the commands below:
cd tc

cd bin

and tc or tc.exe [This starts your Turbo C]
- [Important Step] In Turbo C Editor, go to Options>Directories>Change Directories>Change the source of TC to the source directory [D](i.e. virtual D: refers to original c:).

For Full Screen : ALT + Enter.
Do not use CTRL + F9(Keyboard Shortcut) to run and execute programs.

Now to start Turbo C everytime, you need to follow the above steps, so to save your time :

Go to Program Files.
Get into DosBox folder.
Find “DOSBox 0.74 Options” and edit it using notepad(move to the end of file).
And paste the code as shown in image below.

By the end of this step, Turbo C will load automatically as you click on DosBox icon.

Programs Description
B.Tech Programme

                   The Academic Programme of B. Tech. Is spread over four years (8 Semesters). The First Year Course curriculum is common for all the branches of Engineering. Due weightage is given to Language, Social Science along with the basic sciences along with the professional Courses of each discipline.

                   From the Second Year onwards-professional course are taught in phased manner. Along with the basic core Courses, emphasis is given to elective from within the Course structure and pool electives i.e. from the outside the course structure. This helps students to attain proficiency in subjects of his / her interest also.

                   Inhouse training of 6 weeks is provided to students in the college campus after 2nd year, Students are sent for industrial training during the Third Year so as to expose them to the real engineering application of design, manufacturing, quality control etc.

                   In Final Year, the students are required to work for six weeks on project assign to them by the College. During the course of the project work, the students have to make use of the knowledge gathered during the Four Year studies and design, developed prototype, testing of the Project to the design specifications. The student has to submit the detail on the Project implementation. This improves the Engineering skills of the student and also helps him / her working independently on a task.

                   The institute organizes regularly this integrative module exercise which typically leads to experiences that enhance participant’s ability to express and apply their ideas clearly and convincingly: a valuable personal asset in business life. The institute is tying up with Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Rational, Microsoft and other leading companies (for MCA program) to ensure that the students have exposure to the latest technology before they post graduate.
Training and placement
                   Technical Education System plays a critical role in shaping the growth of the Indian Economy. Even through the Technical Education System in the country is one of the largest in the World, the demand for talented Engineering Graduates far exceeds the supply.

                   In view of this it is important to introduce reform in the development of students who join Engineering Institutes. Babu Banarasi Das Group of Educational Institutions which comprises Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology and Management, Northern India Engineering College and several other Institutions has undertaken lead in developing the quality of education & thereby the quality of the pass outs.

                   Campus interviews are organised by the institute for final placement in the corporate world. The trac record of placements in the institute has been very satisfactory. All the pass outs in first batch of Engineering were absorbed in public, private and MNC, note-worthy amongst them were Indian Army, Indian Air Force, DRDO, Reliance Global, Infosys, TCS, Technosys etc. In the Pharmacy, all students found employment even before their results were announced.

                   All Management Post Graduates also found placements in leading companies. For the year 2003, companies numbering sixteen have visited our campus for selecting candidates for their organizations. About 700 students have got opportunity to present their performances.

B.Tech College Rankings

I'm sure as soon as you would have opened this post you would have expected the rankings.
Well friends I must tell you then, there is no particular system using which we as students, ex-students or others can give a college rankings. Many sites like techbits, entrance-corner etc. give their own rankings.
But how these rank points are awarded is still a mystery. This has been explained below.

Now if you notice above carefully, the ranks above are all messed up. There is no particular basis on which the points have been distributed. Firstly, NPTI which is a relatively new institute offering only one course has been put above USCT which has the university placement cell and a far better infrastructure. Next to be noticed is ANSAL which is again a relatively higher rating than expected. It is now ANSAL University, the infrastructure might be good but placements are pretty average. Another weird thing that I noticed here was that HMR and ANSAL have the same rating for placements considering the fact that HMR doesn't even have a placement cell! An astonishing fact to be noticed here is that location is not even considered a parameter. Adding to that, it has not been explained how they evaluate "Academics" and "Others". AMITY, a lesser known institute, though often slammed for its poor infrastructure, has placements equivalent to any of the top ranked colleges here. 60 companies come to recruit students from AMITY every year which clearly beats any institute's record. Consider all these factors, I would say such rankings are all but sham.

If you really want to judge which college is better, it is better not to believe in any site records or rankings.
First you should visit the colleges you would prefer to take admission in. This will help you judge INFRASTRUCTURE and LOCATION. Mind you, infrastructure doesn't mean how big your college is. It also includes the various facilities like labs inside your college. Location is one important factor if your not planning to stay in the Hostel. Next thing is ACADEMICS. Well as far as academics is concerned, let me assure you do not expect your professors to spoon-feed you like in school. At most you would be able to clear your doubts once in a while. In my experience of B.Tech, I have never understood a single word taught in class. Maintaining a good academic record is in your hands. Last but not the least come the main factor, PLACEMENTS. Even if you are planning higher studies, it is always better to be in a college with better placements. A good on-campus placement means you need worry about getting a job after B.Tech. Often we are mislead regarding placements by the brand names like ANSAL, AMITY, etc. but then only passouts of such colleges can tell you how good placements of these colleges are. It is always better to opt for an institute which it's own placement cell and offers at least 70% recruitment. Other factors that can be considered while choosing colleges are accommodation, extra-curricular activities etc.

Introduction

This Session gives an overview on campus placements (particularly on-campus, still the most of the ideas will apply for off-campus selections too) and preparations for the placements. You might already know most of the information given here, but we think there is no harm in giving it.

What Companies ExpectThe IT field is a constantly growing one, where the technology of yesterday is a relic today. There is a wide gap between the requirement and supply of the skilled manpower. So there is a very high demand for such capable people. They are looking forward for such people and expect their employees to be dynamic enough to have the aptitude for continuous learning and a willingness to work more. Software development is teamwork, so the companies expect reasonably good communication skills. It’s enough that you have the capability to express your thoughts freely.

The Selection ProcedureMost of the companies follow the similar methodology for campus selections. We feel that the companies adopt more a filtering approach to selection strategy in initial stages.

Many companies mandate a 60%-75% average in the qualifying degree. Few companies look for good track record from school days itself. Consistent performance is also sometimes taken into account: some companies require that the candidates should have no arrears.

Next comes the written test. The test topics and weightage given for each of the subject tested varies between the companies. The aim is to select the candidates with good aptitude that includes C aptitude and general aptitude (analytical aptitude and reasoning). Depending on the companies the other subjects tested varies. When you are selected in the written test, some companies have Group Discussion for further filtering of the candidates.

Finally you have personal interview. Depending on the company there may be one or two interviews; in case of technical session and HR/Stress interviews. Performance in interviews is crucial in the selection process because it is where you are evaluated fully and final decision is made on your selection.

What to prepare and How to prepareProper planning for placements will help a lot in improving your chances for getting placed. Identify your strong points and weaknesses and plan accordingly. Preparation should start well ahead of the placement dates, and 6 months time will be more than enough.

There are many facets that are to be considered for preparing for placements. The preparation should constitute: improving technical capabilities, increasing the general aptitude, developing good communication skills and mental preparation.

Technical Capabilities:Long before placements start, you should have clearly identified your areas of interest and specialization. There is more possibility that the interviewers will ask questions in those areas.

As far as technical capabilities are concerned, it’s more a long-term preparation. You can go through the textbooks of the concerned subjects once again and know the subject better. Don't mug-up; this is not for your semester exams. Concentrate more on concepts than data; employees prefer good thinkers to RAMs.

If you don't know C language basics, start learning C immediately. Knowledge of C language is a must and almost all the IT companies test C aptitude. C++, Java and UNIX aptitude will be an added advantage. It is worthwhile investing lot of time improving your aptitude in these areas; they are here to stay in IT field for a long time.

General Aptitude:Good skills in general aptitude is a must to pass the written test, and sometimes in interview also general aptitude skills are tested. You can perform better if you prepare well for improving the aptitude. Both short and long term preparation shall be useful. Know the shortcuts for answering these questions since time is an important factor in answering these questions. Now lets look at few tips on solving the general aptitude questions.

- Each one of you will have your own positive and negative aspects in problem solving. First identify your gray areas and work on them assiduously.

- The two most important attributes when we go for any aptitude test is speed and accuracy. One without the other is meaningless.

- Remember that it is almost humanly impossible to solve all the problems in the stipulated time because it will then reflect poorly on the standard of the question paper being set and no company will ever allow that. So don't be in too much of a hurry to answer all the questions and in the process make some stupid errors.

- Reasoning ability is more important and not our mathematical skills. Almost 95% of our problems do not require too much of a mathematical intellect on our part.

- When you sit in for a test try to identify those problems that take more time to solve. Remember that all the questions carry equal marks and it doesn't make sense for us to solve one problem in say 30 seconds and another in, say 3 minutes. Skip such questions in the beginning and come back to them later if and when you have time.

Communication Skills:Having good oral communication skills is a must for success in the personal interview. It’s enough that you are able to communicate your ideas effectively without any inhibitions in English.

English is a language in which you can achieve a considerable fluency in a short time span. This requires a conscious effort on your part, and thus, a good command over the English language can be achieved. Make it a point that you speak in English with your friends and ask them to point out the mistakes you commit while you speak.

Mental PreparationMental preparation plays a vital role in the placements. We should have the confidence that we can get placed. This is the basic and most important point to be noted. Build a positive self-image and project the best in you.

ConclusionThe problem India faces is not the problem of unemployment; it is rather the problem of 'unemployability'. We should make ourselves capable and improve ourselves to make suitable for being employed. For that preparations will help a lot.

Overview
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee comprising faculty from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The overall coordination and responsibility lies with Indian Institute of Technology, Madras designated as the Organizing Institute for GATE 2011.

Admission to post graduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship/assistantship at engineering colleges/institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE. GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy or Master degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications are eligible for Master/Doctoral programmes in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must additionally secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. GATE qualification, however, is not required for candidates with Master degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy who may be seeking scholarship/assistantship for relevant doctoral programmes.

Some institutions specify GATE as the mandatory qualification even for admission of self-financing students to postgraduate programmes. GATE qualified candidates in Engineering disciplines are also eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship in CSIR Laboratories. Some government organizations prescribe GATE qualification as a requirement for applying to the post of a Scientist/Engineer.

A candidate can apply for only ONE of the 21 papers listed in the table given below. In the tables given below, the columns titled 'Paper Title' and 'Title of the Section' provide links to the appropriate syllabus.

The choice of the appropriate paper is the responsibility of the candidate. Some guidelines in this respect are suggested below.

GATE Examination Type

The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3 hours duration which contains 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only objective questions. In all papers other than AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF, all the questions are of multiple choice type. In AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF papers, the question paper will consist of questions of multiple choice type and also some questions of numerical answer type. For multiple choice type questions, each question will have four choices for the answer. For numerical answer type questions, each question will have a number as the answer.
The examination for the papers with codes AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF will be carried out ONLINE using computers where the candidates will be required to enter the answer for each question using mouse. For all other papers, the candidates will have to mark the correct choice on an Optical Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening the appropriate bubble against each question. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer, except for the numerical answer type questions.

Each GATE paper shall have a General Aptitude (GA) component carrying 15 marks

EXAM PATTERN

The examination for the papers with codes AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF will be carried out ONLINE using computers where the candidates will be required to enter the answer for each question using mouse. GATE 2012 would contain questions of four different types in various papers:
* Multiple choice questions carrying 1 or 2 marks each.
* Common data questions, where two successive questions use the same set of input data.
* Linked answer questions, where the answer to the first question of the pair is required in order to answer its successor.
* Numerical answer questions, where the answer is a number, to be entered by the candidate.

Examples of such questions can be found in Question Types.

In all the papers, there will be a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying 15 marks in General Aptitude (GA) are compulsory.
In the papers bearing the codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, GG, IN, ME, MN, MT, PI, TF and XE, the Engineering Mathematics will carry 15 % of the total marks, the General Aptitude section will carry 15 % of the total marks and the remaining 70 % of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.
In the papers bearing the codes AR, CY, GG, MA, PH and XL, the General Aptitude section will carry 15 % of the total marks and the remaining 85 % of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.

Marking

For 1 mark multiple choice questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Likewise, for 2 marks multiple choice questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. However, for the linked answer question pair, where each question carries 2 marks, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer to the first question only. There is no negative marking for wrong answer to the second question of the linked answer question pair. If the first question in the linked pair is wrongly answered or is unattempted, then the answer to the second question in the pair will not be evaluated. There is no negative marking for numerical answer type questions.

Pattern of Question Papers

General Aptitude (GA) Section: In all papers, GA questions are of multiple choice type, and carry a total of 15 marks. The GA section includes 5 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 5 marks) and 5 questions carrying 2-marks each (sub-total 10 marks)
Question papers other than GG, XE and XL:
These papers would contain 25 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each (sub-total 25 marks) and 30 multiple choice questions carrying two marks each (sub-total 60 marks). Out of these, two pairs of questions would be common data questions, and two pairs of questions would be linked-answer questions. In the ONLINE papers, the question paper will consist of questions of multiple choice type and numerical answer type. For multiple choice type questions, each question will have four choices for the answer. For numerical answer type questions, each question will have a number as the answer and choices will not be given.

GG (Geology and Geophysics) Paper:
Apart from the General Aptitude (GA) section, the question paper consists of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A is common for all candidates. Part B contains two sections: Section 1 (Geology) and Section 2 (Geo-physics). Candidates will have to attempt questions in Part A and either Section 1 or Section 2 in Part B.
Part A consists of 25 multiple choice questions carrying 1-mark each (sub-total 25 marks). Each section in Part B (Section 1 and Section 2) consists of 30 multiple choice questions carrying 2-marks each (sub-total 60 marks). Out of these, two pairs of questions would be common data questions, and two pairs of questions would be linked-answer questions.

XE Paper (Engineering Sciences):
In XE paper, Engineering Mathematics section (Section A) is compulsory. This section contains 11 multiple choice questions carrying a total of 15 marks: 7 questions carrying 1-mark each (sub-total 7 marks), and 4 questions carrying 2-marks each (sub-total 8 marks).
Each of the other sections of the XE paper (Sections B through G) contains 22 questions carrying a total of 35 marks: 9 questions carrying 1-mark each (sub-total 9 marks) and 13 questions carrying 2-marks each (sub-total 26 marks). Out of the 2-mark questions, 2 pairs are common data questions and 1 pair is linked answer questions.

XL Paper (Life Sciences):
In XL paper, Chemistry section (Section H) is compulsory. This section contains 15 multiple choice questions carrying a total of 25 marks: 5 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 5 marks) and 10 questions carrying 2-marks each (sub-total 20 marks). Out of the 2-mark questions, 1 pair is common data questions, and 1 pair is linked answer questions.
Each of the other sections of the XL paper (Sections I through M) contains 20 multiple choice questions carrying a total of 30 marks: 10 questions carrying 1-mark each (sub-total 10 marks) and 10 questions carrying 2-marks each (sub-total 20 marks).
