Pet shop adventure

2014-09-03T22:00:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone J One of the duties of having a pet is to feed it, thus today me and Daphne and Efi went to our closest pet shop to get some cat food. Daphne also feeds some stray dogs and cats and got tons of food that made her car smell terrible.

Everytime we visit this pet shop we get excited to see the animals there. These little guinea pigs were so cute and adorable and we thought it would be a a nice idea to take a video with them. Unfortunately while the camera rolled these cute little animals decided to mate. This was a quite awkward event.

Happily this hamster was alone in a corner and wasn’t in a mood to mate. I love how hamsters eat and then clean their faces with their hands. I could watch it all day chilling and eating.

Last but not least the parrots stole the show not only because they are extremely beautiful but also because they were utterly noisy. When I tried to snap a picture most of them got scared by the camera except this one little hero who stood surprisingly photogenically out of the crowd.

End of summer vacation

2014-09-02T21:00:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone. I returned from my vacation to the Ionian sea. Last week was the most relaxing week of this year. I was lying on the beach and eating as many ice creams as I could. I might be a couple pounds heavier but definitely worth it.

Now I am back in Athens and ready to prepare everything I need for this year, but there is a tiny piece of me that is really sad that August is over. Summer is always suck a joyful period that when it ends it’s impossible for me to avoid some feelings of melancholy.

I have heard many people say that they feel emptiness and discomfort after the end of the summer mainly because they know they’re gonna miss the hot , long, golden summer days. The smell of the seawater and the sounds of the waves are always what’s left in my memories.

The days are getting shorter and shorter and despite my panic I am excited that this year is gonna be so much different now that I am moving to London.

Procrastination Problem

2014-09-01T21:00:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone! I am back from my vacation and now that I recharged my batteries I am ready to work hard. Today I was looking for air tickets to London! Daphne has already booked everything since she is so neat and organized but I keep procrastinating. Sometimes I feel that even the simplest tasks are too hard for me, like booking tickets or even answering the phone. I get anxious and almost paralyzed with the most insignificant things, I think about them over and over and most of the times I convince myself that I can’t do them at all.

This is the thing that I would like to change this year. I should set goals and try to achieve them without panicking. Maybe I should keep a journal with everything I want to accomplish and break them down so I could do them step by step. Sounds so easy but I already feel my palms sweating. I know that I create barriers in my mind and sabotage myself but the feelings of incompetence are strong. Do you have any thoughts on how to fight procrastination?

Part 3: Vacation in Rhodes

2014-08-22T11:30:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone, as I promised in my previous post, today I'll upload some photos from the Old town in the city of Rhodes. I'm wearing another two-piece dress that I've made. This one has little ice creams on and a cute scallop edge at the top.

I love how this entrance to the castle is leading us straight to the port/beach. When I visited the island last year in the winter I had taken loads of photos here. It is even more beautiful now with the flowering plants.

As I was taking photos, a cute cat appeared nearby. She totally reminded me of Ella only hairier. I wish I could bring her home. She was unfriendly just like Ella as well. They would have a blast together ignoring me.

Another entrance of the castle. Less glamorous this time but with cute stairs. One of the central points of Old town. I can't say it is particularly beautiful but the rest of the town is. This is one of the "hottest" nightlife spots for the locals.

And of course parrots randomly sitting around. I don't even know. I'm pretty sure parrots aren't common in Rhodes or anywhere in Greece, But here there were at least 7 parrots lazing around. Maybe they had an owner? they were an attraction? I don't know.

Here is me in front of the main entrance to the castle. Please excuse the low quality of the image but I had to upload it. I waited so long for the tourists to clear up the scene to let this photo die.

The magnificent castle. So so beautiful. I could totally picture myself living here. I wouldn't even mind the tourists, I would creep on them from above lol.

Greeting from my new home! There is only one part left of my Vacation to Rhodes series. Have a great rest of summer everyone!

Ella a cute cute cat

2014-08-20T20:00:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone :) Today I spend a day with Ella and she was adorable as always. I love it when she looks at me with those big round eyes.

I wanna hug her and pet her all the time. She is the most adorable cat I have ever seen. Sometimes she bites and other times she doesn't want to be pet but I can't help it loving her so much.

She thinks that she is the master of the house and everyone should hear her orders. She demands to be fed every morning and she wants her massages while she is relaxing late in the afternoon.

She is a demanding female but I would never call her bossy, she just knows what she wants when she wants it.

Awww those eyes are killing me.

Have a great day!!

Packing my bags for vacation

2014-08-19T22:30:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone :)
Today I am packing my bags for a small trip! I will go to the Ionian sea and visit some islands. I really wanna go to Ithaki and Kerkyra or even Paxos but I am not sure yet! I don't think I will be able to see all seven islands of the Ionian sea!

I am super excited but also anxious that I am gonna forget to put in my suitcase something really important, like enough bathing suits! Doing a checklist is not easy neither is picking what outfits to get. I wish I could carry all my closet with me!

Ionio here I come! I wish you have an awesome time!!!

Part 2: Rhodes vacation photos + handmade two piece dress

2014-08-18T10:30:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone, today I'll be sharing another two piece dress I've made. It has cute mermaids all over! Of course it's made out of fabric best suited for children's sheets. However I'm at a point in my sewing career where I don't care what kind of fabric I'll use, as long as it is cute!

The city of Rhodes has this amazing ancient castle. It's so large that on average you'll need about a day to walk around, check out the little shops, eat etc. There is a little town is thriving inside the castle.

With so many tourists I found it hard to take any decent photos of the inside. In my next post I'll upload my favourite ones. Seeing these pics now is making me nostalgic. I had such a magnificent time in Rhodes and it will be a long time till my next vacation.

I've made about 3-4 different two-piece dresses for my vacation and I had a blast parading around town in them. The construction of the dresses isn't the best but they did their job. Now I want to start sewing my autumn/winter clothes 'cause I won't be able to take my sewing machine in the UK. It makes me sad but sewing is a hobby that takes a LOT of time and space all of which I won't have next year.

What is your favourite hobby?

Summer Ella cat

2014-08-15T20:00:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone :) Ella today was so desperate to find a cool place in the house and she ended laying in the balcony floor.

Sometimes she prefers to stay in a little room in the house that is really warm, she sleeps there for hours and she enjoys staying there because it's dark and quite. Other times she seems extremely disturbed by the heat.

So the question remains. Is she feeling the heat like we do? This summer is one of the hottest and I am not sure how she manages to stay in a room in the temperature of an oven.

I am guessing that she has a high tolerance in heat. I have asked her several times if she enjoys cold water or ice in the summer but she has never really gave me an answer.

Ella doesn't meow often. She prefers to look at you straight in the eyes and blink slowly her huge eyes. I know that's a sign of love but sometimes I wonder if she wants to murder me. I mean look at this half closed eyes..she seems suspicious.

So what do you think, can cats feel the hot weather like humans?

Ella is wishing you all a happy weekend!

Pink Handmade Leopard Dress

2014-08-13T21:02:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone :)
Today I decided to wear my new handmade pink leopard dress! It's a two piece again and it's one of the easiest dresses I have ever made!

The fabric is elastic so I didn't even use a zipper, and actually the most boring stuff is trying to put a zipper especially on the top. It's quite tricky when you have to adjust the length of the zipper and you are forced to cut it.

I am extremely impressed with the result since this is the first time I tried to do a tight dress. When I saw the fabric on the store I imagined myself as a pink cheetah and I loved it.

Have a great day!

Ella the lion cat

2014-07-31T23:20:00.001+03:00

Hello everyone, today I spent a lovely day with my cat Ella. During the summer she enjoys staying at the balcony chasing cicadas or lazing around on the cool floor.

However despite all this exercise, I've noticed that she got fatter and fatter. Her once little belly now looks like a balloon. She has such a small face for that big round body. I really don't mind her being voluptuous but I'm concerned about her health and eating habits.

Here you can see that huge mouth that consumes large amounts of food whenever it has a chance. I have tried multiple times to get her on a diet but everyone else is keep giving her treats even behind my back. There is a lack of synchronisation of her feeding schedule especially when I'm away for hours.

I know it is hard to resist these huge round green eyes when she is begging for an extra bite. But more importantly, if you do manage to resist she will bite you mercilessly like a lion she is. Or she will keep meowing during the night time disturbing your sleep.

Ella's doctor told us not to worry about her weight yet but at this rate she might be in trouble soon. This makes me anxious since I'll leave in September for my master studies in the UK and I will have no control over her eating. Do you have any tips for keeping a cat fit?

Part 1: Vacation at the beautiful Rhodes island

2014-07-24T04:48:00.001+03:00

Hello everyone! Today I'd like to share with you some photos of my recent trip to Rhodes. Rhodes is a one of the largest Greek islands and is located at eastern Aegean Sea. We stayed at the city of Rhodes where the Medieval Old Town is located which is a declared world heritage site. Prior to my vacation me and Gracie sew several two-piece dresses so I had a whole new wardrobe with me.

The first one is this cute vintage-printed dress. I really really love the print. It is one of the fabrics I wanted to sew in a long time and I'm happy that I finally did. It makes me really sad having unused cute fabric.

Our hotel was near the "Elli" beach so I was able to enjoy swimming every day. Most beaches in Rhodes have sunbeds that you have to pay but you can also just place your towel and your own umbrella wherever you want. I try to avoid the sun as much as possible so I usually have my own just in case a beach isn't organised.

Rhodes is such a huge city and attracts tourists all year round. I have visited the island before in winter but honestly its so much more beautiful in the summer.

Have you visited Rhodes or any other Greek island? Which one was your favourite?

Life Changes

2014-07-18T00:34:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone. These days I am super excited yet really anxious about my future. As you may know, me and Daphne were looking for masters programs in the UK and we finally decided where we wanna go. The fact is that we are gonna drastically change our lives.

I am thinking over and over that this is just a small step and I try to convince myself that I am not anxious but now that the summer is almost over the dramatic voice inside me hopes I had more time.I wish I had the chance to talk to the future me just to reassure me that everything is gonna be ok. I am not sure what is the point of this post since I can explain if I am afraid of leaving or if I am anxious about the unknown. I am a shy person and I was never too social, I kinda hate being thrown into a new environment. On the other hand I wanna meet new people and start a new life as a real adult. I guess that I am really confused right now because I bet I am coming across like an extremely scared person, which is far from the truth. Wow as I am writing this text I see how I contradict myself. I guess I am done with thinking for the day.

Pink Heart Handmade Two Piece Dress

2014-07-15T20:30:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone :) Today was a cloudy day in Athens and it was such a relief cause I can't stand the hot sun forever. I try not to get a tan this year so I am using a ton of bronzer.

So today I decided to wear my new two piece dress. Me and Daphne were sewing day and night last week and finished many dresses. Fortunately we have endless fabric to sew till death do us party. This is the first dress I finished last week and it's one of my favorite! Daphne sewed 5 or 6 dresses, she was on fire. I can't compete with her skills. I am slow dressmaker like a sloth but my last creations are more professional looking and I made less mistakes.

I also did my make up in a drag queen style. My inspiration was a mix of Adore Delano and Roxxxy Andrews. I know that the make up seems conservative in the photos but it's really heavy.

I wish you have an awesome day!

Playing with cute cats

2014-07-14T21:48:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone! Now that the weather is super hot we don't dare to go out for long so we are going from house to house. This Saturday we were at Efi's house and we were playing with her cats. She has a wonderful garden and her cats are enjoying so much to play in the dirt.

Here you can see sir Meowlis looking like an aristocratic cat. He is so huge and cute. He is not fat but he has an enormous body. He is also terribly kind and although he doesn't like to have his pictures taken he poses tentatively.

He is the most calm cat I have ever seen. He wants to be pet all the time, sometimes he is a little winy when we cook cause he is hungry 24/7!

In the picture above you can see Satanitsa. She is truly a little devil! She likes to get dirty that's why she is always rolling around in the garden. She extremely playful and sometimes we hug and pet her but if she's not enjoying it she will show it right away with her claws. Apart from that she is friendly and she hangs out with Meowlis everyday, they bath together and the sleep together!

Satanitsa was so little when we first found her! She was begging for food and seeking hugs from strangers. Now she is a lady and she owns her own garden.

The two cats are living harmonically together for over a year now. They are both neutered so they are close friends.

I love it when Meowlis is doing that pose! He is the cutest! :)

Have a nice week!

Hello everyone :) These days I've been missing my shorter hair. I don't dare to cut them again but I miss my old bangs. I was feeling retro and cute.

Now I let my hair grow mainly because I haven't decided if I want to keep this color. Maybe I will bleach my roots or maybe I will dye them dark brown..

Rupaul's Drag Race Controversy

2014-07-02T20:08:00.002+03:00

Hello everyone, these hot summer days all I wanna do is drink cold tea and watch Rupaul's Drag Race over and over again. I know that this show is really popular in U.S. but in Greece not many people can recognise Rupaul. That feeling of expressing yourself in every possible way even bending stereotypical gender rules seems extremely liberating. Drag performances are funny and entertaining thus I don't see the reason why someone can't enjoy the show. Unfortunately there are people who feel offended when they see Rupaul.I love it when it happens, I love the way boys can't explain what is so offending about it and they just claim that the show doesn't match with their aesthetic, as if their camouflage pants and the stained tank tops are avant-garde of aesthetic that can't be compromised.

Last week I showed the video "Sissy that Walk" to a guy and when he realised that Rupaul was a man he started shaking, he asked me multiple times why I showed him that video, I calmly answered that since he was playing some music I wanted to show him a song that I liked. He didn't liked that explanation, he was red as a baboon's arse and thought that I implied he was gay. What is wrong with straight boys? Why they always feel the need to declare their sexuality and get offended if someone else is gay? Maybe they are afraid that the sexual orientation can be contagious and if they turn gay they will be really sick. Well it's kind of disturbing trying to explain to a straight guys that there is nothing wrong with the drag queens but it is always hilarious seeing them getting furious. The last this guy told me is that if he hears this song again he will shoot himself... well I am always here to help.

A date with Sir Miaoulis the Cat

2014-05-20T04:44:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone! Yesterday we went to Efi's house which is always great since it has plenty of food and cats. I usually bring Ella along since she adores Efi's male cat Miaoulis (who doesn't). When I got back home she kept sniffing and licking my hands. So today I'll present you Miaoulis the sleep master himself. This photo shows exactly how perfect Miaoulis is. Look at that belly and that face of disapproval. That is his regular face. So cute! "Leave me alone human I'm sleepy/hungry".

He is such a handsome cat. Here he is looking away wondering when is he getting fed as a reward for this photo shoot. I'm so used to the small size of Ella that this cat seems huge to me. Holding him up is not easy either.

His talent is sleeping. I mean we were sitting in Efi's kitchen and I jokingly asked Gracie if Miaoulis is dead since he was sleeping so much. She started shaking him and shaking him, we could see he was breathing but was not opening his eyes! I thought he was in a comma. But no, he finally opened his eyes looked at our panicked faces with annoyance and went to sleep on another chair. Such are the hardships of Mr. Miaoulis life.

Throwback Thursday #8

2014-05-16T01:44:00.003+03:00

Hello everyone, today I'll be sharing with you the first photo we ever took for our blog 3 years ago.

We had just created the blog and we wanted photos for our banner and user pic. I used to rock the really short bangs back then. A few days after the shoot we both went and cut our hair at about chin length resulting in looking like twins for a long time. Note the that this color is not my natural color since I've been dyeing my hair for the past 6-7 years.

Cat in the Sun

2014-05-14T23:44:00.000+03:00

Ella the cat is no different than other cats. She just loves to sleep all day and only takes breaks to bite me. Nowadays her favorite place to sleep is this sunny spot in our living room. Everyday around 5 the afternoon she has just lays there in the sun and sleeps. But first she poses like an adorable kitty she is.

Look at her! Her big green eyes are so cute I'm so happy I was able to capture this photos. Here she looks like a calm angelic creature which we all know it is a lie.

You would think that because she enjoys napping with her belly exposed like this she would enjoy belly rubbing? of course not. She will bite you no matter how sleepy she is.

So so so pretty. I've showed this photos to nearly every person I know by now. I mean, just look at her!! So photogenic (I'm so jealous). Just a few hours ago she was trying to kill our parrots. Who would have guessed.

Good girl! Have to make sure to clean those paws after all. I wish she would be that calm whenever I try to take photos with her. Oh well. She is almost 2 years old now. When will she calm down?

A day at the Attica zoological park! Part 2

2014-05-13T22:30:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone :) As you may know one week ago was Daphne's birthday and we went to the Attica zoological park.

Daphne's hair was so pink that day that not only the animals but also the trees felt a slight envy. I loved this photo because her hair tone is matching so well the flowers behind her! I am wondering if the flowers use the same silver shampoo as Daphne does.

I also loved the above photo cause this cheetah reminded me of Ella. It was resting so peacefully under the tree with this huge tail and the soft belly. I actually didn't touch the belly of the cheetah, I am just imagining that it would be extra soft.

But the most friendly animal in the park was by far this Hyacinth Macaw parrot! He was so blue we had to take a picture together!

He let me touch him little nose and he enjoyed my company. I've never seen a parrot so happy in my life!

His cage was really big so he could fly away if he wanted to be he decided to stay with me. I knew he was attracted to me!

One of the most awkward moments was when we mixed up this little red parrot with the chattering lory. Daphne said "Excuse me little mister are you Chattering lory?" and the he got offended. I guess his name is Lorius but I am not sure.

This white-throated toucan posed naturally for us. I guess he is some kind of bird model!

After all this walking we were exhausted and we sat for a while to admire the park.

Meeting and greeting all the animals was a really hard work! Luckily we had with us some amazing cookies which I stole from Daphne's house so we gained some energy to continue our trip!

Conchita Wurst-the equality issues

2014-05-12T23:01:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone :) Today's post is dedicated to the bravest person of the year, Conchita Wurst. She is a the Austrian singer who represented Austria and won the Eurovision song contest in Copenhagen. She is a fierce drag queen with an incredible voice and a huge talent, she deserved to win not only because she's an awesome performer, she wore a beautiful dress and sang like an angel but also because she handled with grace and respect all the hate against her.
First of all I would like to mention that I don't consider myself a spoke person for LGBTQA community and I wouldn't dare to compare myself and my everyday problems with their struggles. I just feel a deep love for people like Conchita who are true fighters.

These last days I have seen multiple people writing mean comments on Conchita's facebook page. Also many of my facebook "friends" declared with pride that drag queens are freaks of nature. I was so shocked with all this hate, I can't comprehend how it is possible people in their 20's to have so closeminded and misanthropic opinions.I even heard people say that these people will corrupt young kids. I never knew that a performer would be able to destroy innocent lives and contaminate the society. But besides the fear of the unknown I find it really disturbing to live a life based in hate. There are people out there who are haters, who want to tear apart the LGBTQA community mentally and physically. This time the message that the European people gave is loud and clear, we demand equality since we live in 2014. It is unacceptable to hear death threats and hatefull comments when we should be all united. It is time for some people to grow up and accept that not everything society taught them is right. Conchita was elegant, refined and had the best song in the contest, I can't see any reason why she shouldn't have won. Her sexuality is no ones business, she's an artist and she should be judged just for that.

Ella on the keyboard

2014-05-07T23:00:00.000+03:00

Hello everyone :) Today I tried to work all day but Ella kept distracting me..She is the kind of the cat that wants attention but pretends that she doesn't.

Well when she lays on my computer is pretty obvious that she begs me to rub her belly. But she doesn't want only my attention..

She is the leader of the house and demands to be pet from both of her owners.

And then she lays again on the keyboard ready to sleep.

I really can;t help it, I'm in love with this cat!
