Australian Censors clear Sexing The Transman

The Classification Board has this morning given Melbourne Queer Film Festival the go-ahead to screen Sexing the Transman.
“The trans community will no doubt be rapt to finally be able to view a sex-positive trans documentary among the safe and supportive environment of the MQFF — it’s the first public screening of its kind in Australia, and hopefully the first of many,” MQFF director Lisa Daniel said.
“Full credit goes to the Board for acknowledging the adult film festival-going community of Melbourne is mature enough to decide what they would like to view.”
Earlier this year the Classification Board refused exemption for two films in Sydney’s Mardi Gras Film Festival line-up, Community Action Centre and In Their Room: Berlin.
The board determined the films would have been granted an X classification had they been put through the classification process in Australia.
In Sexing The Transman the world’s first transman porn actor, Buck Angel, interviews other trans men about their bodies, transitions and sexual orientation.
INFO: There are still a limited number of tickets on sale for Sexing the Transman, which screens at 10.15pm on Friday, March 16 at ACMI. Details at www.mqff.com.au

This year I was asked to come and perform at the Dallas Fetish Ball. My first time to Dallas so I was super excited as I have lots of fans there. I made it a pretty fast trip because I just returned from NYC the week before from a 2 week trip of late night shows and my body was super tired.

I flew into Dallas on Friday and picked up by Don the promoter. Taken to my hotel to chill out because I was going to the Meat and Great later to sign and sell merch. I got to meet so many great people. Dallas is a super cool place( except that the roads are a mess) . I was treated super and even taken out to BBQ at Peggy Sue's. Yummy Yummy!

I did two interviews while there. One with my buddy Richard Hunter. Who has interviewed me before in Vegas. Here is that interview.

The next day I did a fast rehearsal for my show because I had to remove the "sex" part of it. I was performing in the USA and Texas, And there is none of that allowed! Finished up and then off to the gym for a quick workout.

FTM Seeking Advice

So today I received this email from a young FTM. In the wake of all these gay suicides it really makes me feel that I am doing a good service. It is strange in one respect, That I started out just by making my adult films. That I was focused on making something sexy. Showing another side of sexuality in the adult entertainment world. I never in a million years would think that I would be the one that a younger generation would be coming to for advice. Advice on how I became so ok with myself. I have to tell you that it feels so amazing to be able to be in this position to maybe help to stop this crazy suicide stuff that is happening. It really makes me so mad and so sad. That shit was going on when I was going to school a million years ago. The fact that is still happens is not ok.

We need to do something!! We need to fight harder. I for one am determined to make a difference. Just watch me!

Here is the email I received this morning:

Dear buck,

I am writing to you in hopes that you could possibly help me. I am some one who looks up to you and is inspired to see who you are and intereseted in your journey to getting there. My name is XXXX, but I go by B. I am 23 year old and I am transgenderd, FTM as well. I have been seeking guidance and some one to relate to for my entire life. I currently have only had the chance to meet one other transgendered person my entire life...I understand that youre busy, but maybe if you had some free time one day you could call me, or if you are ever in the chicagoland area maybe to meet. I would really want to know how you got the confidence to be who are you are and to be proud. I've been struggling with how how I can experience who I am, I'm losing the battle terribly and aqm becoming hopeless. I feel like no one understands me, and no one relates to my everyday experienec...and I don't understand how to come to a solution...youre an inspiration to eveyone in the transgender community. Thank you so much for showing me that it is possible to be who you are. Thank you for taking the time to read my email.
