I am chomping at the bit to get a new place to live. My friend from our old church has planned to give us some contemporary coffee tables to go with our couch once we do move and settle for real. It is really crazy to see how much people want for apartments up here. I am glad there are a few that include everything for the price. Pray for us I can’t wait to get all settled in with our old and new treasures.

The saints won

And it’s easy to see how. The game was mostly boring, but I was glad to see the cinderella story come true on live television. It was a great victory. I really hope it helps the morale of the city and allows them to get more revenue coming through so they can rebuild.

Football and testosterone

I am at church watching the superbowl (barely) and it looks nasty so far. The problem is that the Saints are not doing as well as people thought they would, but then again this is only the 2nd quarter. We will see if they are going to turn it around or not. They have time but they gotta play better than they have been

In the mean time, I will sit here and listen to the guys scream while jumping around in each other’s faces.

Apartment hunting

We are looking in the area for apartments to rent now. I was hoping we wouldnt have to, but that is the route in which we are heading now. I am really praying for that miracle place that includes everything, is in our budget, is beautiful, in the perfect location, and allows us to work freely in ministry. It has to be close to the job that my hubby is getting and our church. It would be nice if it had a room specifically for our video games, studio, and game tables… but as long as we have 2 bedrooms I will be happy

Got new shirts

SO happy to have found a sale!! I bought myself a dress and 3 shirts all for 16 dollars total last night. It was an unexpected bargain. I was happy to find it, especially since one of the shirts is really good for when we travel for shows. The dress is great to have for any event where I want to look nice. The other 2 shirts are fun and functional. LOVING it

Learning new songs

Here I am 5 years after buying my guitar realizing how much better at playing it I should be by now. I hate that. I still have time to fix this problem. I actually know more than I think, I just lack the confidence to execute said learned things. Now I am working on learning new songs. Hopefully one day I will play like I can in my head.

Why you crying?

, I am here with yet another season of crying while watching American Idol. Last year was my final year to be able to try out if I wanted to, but I keep asking myself WHY would I want to do it? Is it just for my ego? For pride? For fame and riches?

Why would I WANT to be so famous? I don’t want my family torn apart by the media or my child scrutinized for being my son. I don’t want our lives lived in the public forum like that.

AND THE PRESSURE!!! AUGH!!!

Looming deadlines, public opinion, tour dates, physical wear & tear on your body, having to look perfect/be perfect every stinking moment! Waxing, hair appointments, high heeled shoes!!!

No no no no no.

I am happy to be independent, with no deadlines save the ones God imposes. I am happy to have my own means of making music without having to please anyone but God. I am content with my son living a semi-sheltered life where he can learn about the world safely without paparazzi snapping his eyeballs silly.

So I really don’t understand why I still cry over American Idol. I mean, a heartfelt song or gut wrenching story…ok…but just to sit and bawl while people sing?

Job hunting in NY

My husband is currently looking for a contractors/construction job in New York. It isn’t just going to be a job, but this is to set him up for his careers dream. He wants to once again own a construction business. It is not easy finding a job in New York, though. SO many people are out of work, vying for the same jobs. Even with his years of experience and excellent work, it is not an easy feat.

Review: Book of Eli

I must admit, we went in with a few preconceived notions. Husby thought that the main character was going to be Elijah the prophet. I thought that the movie would be about the book of Elijah the prophet, like an untold epistle.

We were both wrong.
Extremely wrong.

The movie takes place after the apocalypse and is based upon biblical truths. There are elements that remind me of these movies:

“Castaway”
“Resident Evil”
“I am Legend”
“Blade”

If you like any of those movies, imagine them all wrapped into one plot. There was an unexpected twist to the story which really made you want to stand up and cheer.

We watched it in a theater with very few people, but they were animated. When crazy things happened, we all gasped.

Denzel was impeccable. One of the best movies he has made.

WOOT for my little sis

I am so excited! My sister will soon be handing out her own college graduation announcements!!! Her pictures are gorgeous. I can hardly wait to attend my very own sister’s college graduation. She has worked so hard and diligently pursued her degree. She has gone over, through, and around so many obstacles. I am beyond proud of her.
