UPDATE: Bogut is out 8-12 weeks after an MRI came back revealing a fractured left ankle.

Bucks center Andrew Bogut sprained his left ankle in last night’s 105-99 win over the Rockets in Houston.

He logged less than ten minutes and registered three points, four rebounds, and three blocked shots.

The best-case scenario would be a severely sprained ankle, but even that would be likely to sideline Bogut for a week or more.

“Once we know what the diagnosis is, we’ll know how to treat it,” Bogut said. “But it’s going to be ice-massage, ice-massage, ice-massage.

“I’m not optimistic. With my history of unlucky injuries I’m hoping this one can do me a favor and (go away). Most of my injuries are unfortunate things and this goes in the same boat as that. It’s frustrating.”

Bogut has already missed five games this season.

“Right now we should really be 3-0,” Brandon Jennings said. “We were up at halftime against Charlotte, and we lost a lead. And tonight we were up (24) at half and let a team come back. That is something we really need to focus on, especially going on a West Coast road trip. On the road in hostile environments you have got to be able to contain the lead and take over.”

Jennings led the Bucks with 22 points — 15 of which came in the second half.

The electrifying point guard has scored 22, 24 and 22 points in three games this season.

“He has been very efficient,” Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. “He is doing a good job in the first half of the games of moving the ball around and seeing people and kind of taking his scoring opportunities as they come. And then as the game has gone on he’s gotten a little more aggressive, especially when we’ve struggled a little bit in those stretches.

“That’s what the good players do.”

Andrew Bogut notched 13 points and 15 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

Milwaukee was up on the Wizards 65-41 at halftime.

The Milwaukee Bucks are still in the market for a backup center and Joel Przybilla appears to be their main target.

Bill Duffy, Przybilla’s agent, attended the Bucks-Minnesota Timberwolves game Tuesday night at the Bradley Center.

Afterward, Duffy told The Journal Times that the Bucks are still pursuing his client.

“They made it clear how much they want him,” Duffy said. “I think it would be a good fit.”

The 31-year old Przybilla is drawing interest from several teams, including the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat, according to league sources.

The former Minnesota Golden Gopher standout played in only 36 games last season — starting nine with Portland.

He was traded from the Trail Blazers to the Charlotte Bobcats last February in a deal that involved Gerald Wallace.

The 7-foot-1, 245-pound center was drafted by the Houston Rockets ninth overall in 2000 and then shipped to Milwaukee, where he played his first three-plus seasons in the NBA.

Behind starting center Andrew Bogut, the Bucks do not have a true center on their current roster.

Second-year man Larry Sanders, who’s a shot-blocking presence at 6-foot-11, is their only other legitimate option to play the position behind Bogut.

Drew Gooden of the Milwaukee Bucks has been suspended one game without pay for his Flagrant Foul Two against Gerald Henderson of the Charlotte Bobcats, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations.

The incident, in which Gooden made excessive contact with the head of Henderson, occurred with 27.3 seconds remaining in the third quarter of the Bucks 96-95 loss to the Bobcats on Monday.

Gooden will serve his suspension tonight when the Bucks host the Minnesota Timberwolves in their home opener.

Brandon Jennings led the Bucks with 22 points.

Stephen Jackson made his debut with the team starting at small forward, logging 17 minutes and six points.

Newcomers Shaun Livingston and Beno Udrih were more successful in their debuts, as the two point guards both played more minutes than Jackson — Livingston collected 14 points and six assists in 35 minutes and Udrih had 13 points in 23 minutes.

Mike Dunleavy also made his debut as a Buck, hitting a go-ahead three-point shot with 1:20 remaining to put Skiles’ squad up 90-89. Dunleavy finisehd 3-12 from the floor, 3-8 from beyond the arc, and had 13 points in a team-high (tied with Andrew Bogut) 38 minutes.

Bogut added 17 points and nine rebounds.

The Bucks were outrebounded 52-39 on the glass, 15 to 8 on the offensive boards, and were outscored 30-14 in the third quarter after leading 52-41 at halftime.
