Hello hello yet again people! So here am I, Bryan Ng Yih Miin on my quest to find food again. Yay! Read the quote from Mark Twain above. Something different eh? It's true what it says there. We need time to adapt. To be accepted for who we are. Or in any case, different people need various amount of time to adapt to one's situation. How about you? Have you ever thought of how long did it take you to adapt to your school life, college life or work place? It's always good to be able to adapt in a particular place for a short period of time, so less culture shock or whatsoever. Right? Well, I believe many of you out there, struggles with so many things as you grow older and as time passes by. It's the same for Bryan Ng Yih Miin as well. Life ain't easy. Life ain't a bed of rose. But one can make his life better by staying positive, be close to God and have friends! Friends, I believe strongly, are important. Whether to just help you out with things or just to share your feelings to them. But of course, you must know you limit. True friends will stay with you forever and will even take a bullet for you, or "Catch a grenade for you....", right? SO,back to TIME.. It's precious.

Now, this time Bryan Ng Yih Miin is bringing you back to a historical state, Melaka!! Weee!! But this time Bryan is going to share on Nyonya food (wahh..I'm so hungry -Adel-). Famous Nyonya Restaurant in Melaka Raya..

First, drinks! Well, Bryan Ng and Adel ordered just plain Chinese tea, which is good for the body.

They gave some chips a.k.a keropok as well. And Bryan and Adel saw many huge packets of keropok on the shelf and we felt like bringing some back! LOL! So kerlian(pitiful) like that..

Now, back to basics! Some information on the founder of this restaurant as well as about Bibik Nyong's recipe..

Slurrrrppppp!!!! Oh yeah oh yeah! Food!! This delicious and mouth-watering Chicken Curry Debal brings a new taste to the beholders mouth! Yummilicious! Bryan and Adel likes it very much as compared to other food they ordered. It brings a special taste that Bryan Ng Yih Miin couldn't figure out what is it, or what is the ingredient. You know lah, sometimes when we eat some food, we will automatically know what taste and what ingredient the cook used, right? So,yeah, do try it. It's pretty right? It tastes Good as well. Do try. Highly recommended! :)

Curry Debal

Okkayy..I'm officially hungry now.. This Tauhu Minced Chicken made Adel hungry, although, it doesn't taste any special or super good, but hey, when you are hungry, don't you crave for EVERYTHING??! =) This tastes like normal tauhu minced chicken anywhere you can find outside or even make yourself. But hey, why not try. It may be you liking! :)

All in all, the food here, tastes normal, except for the Curry Debal. Well, folks, do try out some other food, as it may be nicer than what Bryan Ng Yih Miin and Adel ordered. You'll never know. Up above is the environment of the restaurant. It warms us up as we look at the place, how it was decorated and maintained. It's such a nice feeling, the feeling like your great great grandmother or ancestor was here :)

Well, it's just a few days after Chap Goh Mei.. Awwww, noooooo, CNY is finally over.. Of course, one must have wished that it was longer ea? (Me too..:() Can get more angpau if longer. Hmm, who doesn't want extra angpaus.. If you dont want, pls hand one to Bryan Ng Yih Miin or Adele, thank you :) So how has your CNY been peeps? Fortunately, Bryan Ng Yih Miin and Adele got to collect a few extra angpaus as compared to last year. That was also because of them liking to travel around to relatives house and all. CNY, once a year, it's a get-together event! :) How about Reunion dinner? Bryan Ng Yih Miin had tasted awesome food with family..(steamboat, yummylicious prawns and yadaa yadaa)- making me drools particularly when I'm starving now :D It was indeed a good time at home. Hope you guys did as well. But hey, "Our holidays aren't enough" :( SADNESS, oh yes.

Teppanyaki is fantabulous! =D Adele would definitely wanna go again. Chicken teppanyaki tastes nice but quite normal as well tho'.. but salmon teppanyaki is super nice as when you eat, you get to taste the sweetness of the fish a little bit. Plus they cook with margarine. And tauge(vege) and rice, it is indeed a filling food! The only food Adele thinks Bryan Ng Yih Miin can say, "FULL!" :D

Hello again and hello to 2012! It’s a brand new year and oh!as usual, good food brings the smile that we always see everywhere we go, ain’t it? J This brand new year, Bryan Ng Yih Miin started off well with the joy of spending time with loved ones, how about you out there? Make sure you did that as well, if you haven’t, it’s not too late.. J it’s important to make some time for your family, to share experiences and tell them how much you love and appreciate them.. Well, set your goals as well yea peeps! J So, where did you have your New Year celebrations? As for Bryan Ng Yih Miin and Adele, they went to celebrate New Year in Taiping, Perak.. Yeay! J Bryan Ng Yih Miin initially wanted to travel to Genting or Cherating and some other places but however, due to the Monsoon season and public holidays, Bryan Ng Yih Miin had to go somewhere else, so, he went to Taiping, but nevertheless, it is a good place to go.. It is somewhat like Muar town but with a little bit more.. Let Bryan Ng Yih Miin tell you what is good there!......And, the search for food begins again! J

Awesome food for Day One trip! Food glorious food! All for only about RM15, for two person.. For big-eater like Bryan Ng Yih Miin, these were a fulfilling meal actually.. The Asam Laksa is good! Must go try...And you have various stalls to choose from! This place is usually packed with people almost all the time! However, the one thing Adele found interesting was that it is situated in Pusat Hiburan Larut Matang! (Pusat Hiburan...oooohhh..) Near to The Store actually..

West Inn Hotel may look small to you, but hey it's only RM80 per night and it's fully booked that day! Conditions good.. Definitely clean, you can boil water there, and there is Wifi service too. Single room has two single beds, one bathroom, tv, aircon, table...... it's nice

and cheap! It's definitely the budget hotel, and not only that! It is situated nearby Tesco and Taiping Sentral.. Around that area also, it has Starbucks! A nice place to stay! :)

IT'S COMING TO THE END OF DECEMBER! :( Awww...

Well folks, its just about 10 days away from the brand new year, 2012.. So, its time to reflect on what you have done for these past few months since 2011 first started till now.. For Bryan Ng Yih Miin, this year is a tough year.. Why? it's coz Bryan Ng Yih Miin had more downs than ups, but well, Bryan Ng Yih Miin knows for many of you all out there, it's the same too. Surely you have went through lots of obstacles and challenges in order to survive through this year.. Before we get to topics of what to reflect on, lets go one round with Bryan Ng Yih Miin of what had happened in 2011 :

January : Estonia officially adopts the Euro currency and becomes the seventeenth Eurozone country, Le Tour de Langkawi

March : 9.1 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami hit the east of Japan

April : 6.7 magnitude earthquake stroke off the coast of Java in Indonesia

May : British musician Sir Paul McCartney gets engaged to American businesswoman Nancy Shevell

July : 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays

December : Christmas! :D

And for those who didn't know what 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays meant was.....let Bryan Ng Yih Miin tell you :)

WOW, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays??

It is perfectly true that July 2011 has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. However, such a combination actually occurs far more often than every 823 years. It occurs every few years actually. For those who didn't realize, the last occurence was in July 2005 while the next occurence will most probably take place in July 2016. But...

In any case, there is nothing unusual about the months that have such an interesting combination of days. In fact, any month that has 31 days will have three consecutive days that occur five times in a month. Such combinations are common actually..Awww, so much for excitement :( Having doubts? Oh, do take a look and count the number of Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in July 2011 and you will know that Bryan Ng Yih Miin is talking the truth :)

Anyways, learnt something? :)

Well, back to business.. Like Bryan Ng Yih Miin said earlier.. lets reflect on what we've done these whole year..

Did you achieve your goals and targets you set during the starting of the year 2011?

Did you managed to get what you aimed for?

Did you spend more time for family?

Did you save well for your future?

Did you work hard enough to survive the future or just for this year?

How is your relationship with friends, family...?

There are so so much things to reflect on about the things you did this year. Are the bad experiences going to help you build a better future or are you just going to ignore the bad experiences and pretend like it never happened and never did change your life? For Bryan Ng Yih Miin, the experiences he had gotten from university, friends, family, society etc made him realize so many things he didn't know the past few years. Yes, the experiences may be very tough, hard and sad, but we must always remember to hold on strong and only the strongest can survive. Not talking only about strength physically but as well as mentally. To be able to face the new 2012, each of us need to take better actions and planning to ensure the next year will be better. For Bryan Ng Yih Miin, many bad things had fallen on him but somehow through the courage and determination he has, he managed to look through things in a bigger picture and this made him take those bad experiences seem like a lesson to learnt. Well, we should try to be happy all the time although yes, the world may fail us. But hey, stand strong and pray :)

Now now.. toughen up and lets enjoy something we do best! FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD! :D

IT’S DECEMBER!!!

Hurray, finally it’s December.. It’s time to close the chapter of 2011 and enter into a new year in 2012.. Awwww..That’s super fast, ain’t it? Well, lets end this year well and gear up for the new year! Surely, for a few of us, we will be spending a lot this month as Christmas is in this month.. U guys are definitely not alone! Bryan Ng Yih Miin and Adele spent a lot as well getting pressies(presents) for family.. Well, it’s just once a year, so, why not? J BUT, the bigger problem apart from money out of pocket is…… “What should I get for them?”

Well, a few things Bryan Ng Yih Miin and Adele suggest you get for your family:

Mom: Perfume / Cooking utensils / clothes / handbag / face treatment / or simply treat her to a spa or facial therapy.. you’ll never know how much she would love it! For Ng Yih Miin and Adele, they found out that HABA products are the best though they are really expensive, especially the serum for pigmentation, its uses water and pure ingredients without the use of paraben..

More info: For those who doesn’t know what is paraben, it is a class of chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Parabens are effective preservatives in many types of formulas. Paraben is not really a good chemical to be used in long term. You may find paraben in most of the cosmetics and face treatment products you may find outside..

Dad: Shirt / Tie / Belt / Wallet / Cologne / Watch / Car stuffs / or simply makan-makan.. Haha, well, most of us know that everyone likes to eat, hence to make things easier, just treat your family with FOOD, glorious Food!

But! before that, here is something you may bring your family for a treat or just to taste something hot and spicy and extremely GOOD!

Honestly, it's the best and cheapest food Bryan Ng Yih Miin can find. Only RM5 for each food!

There are also Ka-ra-bu mango, mango and sticky rice, ka-ra-bu maggi, chicken noodle.... :)

Hey peeps, Ng Yih Miin’s back with something good for you to know especially as this festive season (Christmas) is nearing really soon.. Well well well, what is the first thing that comes to ur mind when the word ‘Christmas’ is heard? Shopping? Presents? Santa Clause? Thanksgiving? Holidays? Movies? Sleeping time? Or simply, Jesus? Hmm, Arthur Christmas is coming out soon, for those of you who didn’t know that yet.. And, hmm, yes, December is just exactly 27 days to go!! Woohoo!! In fact, the lights itself made tired-Bryan Ng Yih Miin and friends excited and awake hence, they decided to stop by at the roadside to take a few photos for memories :) Little did we know, many of the tourists and other Malaysians too were taking photos during that night.

Situated in Tanah Rata, it is also a breathtaking scenery, surrounded by lush greenery, rolling hills as well as Tudor-styled cottages. They provide Deluxe Room, Junio

r Suite, Two-Bedroom Suite as well as Cameron & Jim Thompson Suite.. Not forgetting,it also caters for people who are there for business trips as they provide conference and meeting rooms :) Awesome eh?

Fanta-bulous-tic places in Cameron Highlands PART II

Ng Yih Miin and friends of Ng Yih Miin went to T House or now known as The Lord’s Cafe in Cameron Highlands and discover that the scone here is the best!! Apart from that, the chicken pie is also good! The chicken pie is good as it is served hot in the inside (the contents of the pie). It does not taste like normal pie with chicken curry, however, this one is more unique as there are sufficient amount of chicken and potato inside the pie to make it taste really awesome. The strawberry jam made the scone tastes even better than without it. The scone is not hard either on the surface or inside the scone BUT however, the inside of the scone is soft, giving the this-is-the-most-awesome-scone-ever look on Bryan Ng Yih Miin’s face, not forgetting his friends too! Here are some of the good delicacies you can try when u get there:

Chamomile tea.. Free of sugar, add as u wish..

WOW WOW!! Looks good right? Indeed it is..

Apple pie, real apple inside the 'puff'..

Orange juice.. Good start for the day!

RM6 + strawberry cheese cake, moist, YUMMEH!

Only RM2+, really cheap, affordable yet super nice scone, you’ll never be able to find it anywhere else than here! Look to your left, there is Strawberry Jam!! Awesomeness.. :)

After long hours of journey from Kuala Lumpur, they finally reached their destination!

One of Bryan Ng Yih Miin's neighbours staying in Eight Mentigi Guest House in Tanah Rata.. A cosy and homely place to stay!

A good place to study while vacation-ing! :)

And it's really REALLY cheap here as compared to other hotels u can find in Cameron.. Plus, its cosy like home too.. Nothing feels better than staying close to home :)

Dessert!!

Mille Crepe layered cake in Nadeje Cake House in Plaza Mahkota. An awesome way to end the meal! U can eat layer by layer from the top to experience more “yumminess” !! there are also plenty of other flavours available:

Chocolate banana Mille Crepe, Strawberry slice, Tiramisu Crepe, fruit tart cake, etc.

Soon after dinner and dessert, Bryan Ng Yih Miin went to explore more about Melaka by going up into Menara Taming Sari to be able to view Melaka at night. It is an exciting thing to do if u have not been up higher than rooftops! J Bryan Ng Yih Miin is able to see how the real structure of Mahkota Parade from the top. It is actually round/circular at the centre court.

One of the main attraction to Bryan Ng Yih Miin is Casa del Rio-Boutique hotel situated in Jalan Kota Laksamana, Melaka. It’s an awesome place to chill especially at night as it is really really beautiful. With the correct lightings and situated near Melaka river,it is a romantic place for two. Check it out:

Next, Bryan Ng Yih Miin went on a journey to find food, glorious food! Guess what food he tasted this time? Jeng3(drum rolls)..

Best satay celup in Ong Kim Wee restaurant. Why is it the best?? Bryan Ng Yih Miin found that this shop has the MOST kacang in the satay celup sauce! And it’s not the average MOST amount of kacang but its really really REALLY a lot!! Really WOW!! And its slightly cheaper compared to other satay celup shops. Its usually packed with many many people, but however, the good thing about this shop is that although the tables were filled/fullhouse, they still provide a special place at the back of the restaurant to allow more customers to be able to sit comfortably and eat their satay celup! Bryan Ng Yih Miin went on a Friday night at about 11pm and found that the shop was still full of people eating happily there. Hence, it’s a good idea to have extra seats/tables at the back of the shop! J there are plenty of food to choose:

Fish balls, quail eggs, kerang, vege, jagung, crab balls, mushrooms etc.

Dinner is done! What’s next? Of course! No meal is complete without a great adventure of finding……DESSERTS!! No matter how full a person is, there is DEFINITELY somewhere somehow someplace a stomach can be filled with desserts! Weeee!! To be continued....

Ng Yih Miin: Attractions in Langkawi 1

Hi again,

This time around Ng Yih Miin will show you all the interesting places that Ng Yih Miin had visited in Langkawi.

Langkawi is a great place for sightseeing as you can find all different types of nature elements such as mountains, river, waterfall as well as beach as everyone knows.
The first place that Ng Yih Miin will introduce is the Langkawi Cable Car.
Ng Yih Miin and his friends went to this place via the scooter provided in the Rainbow Lodge they were staying.

The Oriental Village near Pantai Kok is where we enter the road heading towards the cable car. It is upper northwest of the island. The cable car took Ng Yih Miin and his friends up to the Mount Mat Cincang which is the second highest summit of Langkawi.

It is very refreshing at the top and you could see almost every part of the island especially the beautiful sea and the contour of the island.

This is the hanging bridge you can find at the top which the scenery is spectacular. Ng Yih Miin and friendz stayed there for quite sometimes before we proceed to the other part of the peak.

In langkawi, ng yih miin came to this very beautiful backpacker lodge named Rainbow Lodge.
It is located in Pantai Chenang.

It is a simple and clean hostel where you can find both dorm and individual rooms.
Rate per night is also very affordable. It was about rm 15.00 per night for a dorm bed.

Honestly, Ng Yih Miin found the dorm way nicer than staying alone as you get to know most of your dorm mates.

What else Ng Yih Miin likes about the hostel?
They have a very close knitted group of ppl especially with the lil louge we have there, it is a great ambience to know people around and get to have some pool game as well as internet access... free wifi especially is great.

In addition, is located pretty nearby to the shops around which is very convenient and best thing of all, it is located at the heart of Pantai Chenang where it was just about 5 minutes walk to the beach.

It is not too crowdy in the dorm and the staffs are very very friendly.
Just love it so much.

That is the fun and the tips for most traveler, it would be great to find company along your journey, male or female, Like bryan he found a group of friends as you can see below...

Alot of times , you meet people from different region around the world. This is the time when you get to know more about other people as well as get to know where else is nice that they have been to.
Most of the time, Ng Yih Miin found that these backpackers really kind and they love to spend time together.

Ng Yih Miin really loves and learnt alot from the days in Langkawi. It is a great experience to be shared further in next post.

Ng yih Miin's Adventure 2:The beach in Pantai Chenang

NG YIH MIIN is back..... these are the few photos of the beach in Pantai Chenang which I would like to share with you all...

The beach in Pantai Chenang was one of beautiful beaches you can find. There are so many different type of watersports provided there such as water ski , banana boat and many more.

They are all provided for a minimal charge of Rm100 for a water ski for approximately 45 minutes or so.

It was amazing. Look at the photos below, where Ng Yih Miin after trying the water ski. too bad Ng Yih Miin got no other photos of him in Action.

It was the most amazing scenery of sunset that Ng Yih Miin had ever experience. Can you see the color contrast? this is no prank or result of photo shop... is purely from Ng Yih Miin's camera.

Most of the time , Ng Yih Miin will just strolled or sit at the beach with his buddies as you can see the next few photos!!!

Above are the buddies of Ng Yih Miin consists of Australians, English and a French lady who reside in Australia. Ng Yih Miin did enjoy alot during those days with the cheap liquor on the island, there is nothing better than a sunset on Pulau Langkawi!

The girl standing on the right is one of ng yih miin's buddies, Fiona from Australia...... staying in the same dorm in Rainbow Lodge.

No doubt it is the greatest memories on the paradise that ng yih miin had ever gotten in years.

Langkawi adventure 3

First and foremost, how to get to langkawi from kl??

Firstly, you shall take a train from Sentral KL to Alor setar which is around rm46.00 for a bed economic cabin.
It is very clean and airy and comfortable. Ng yih miin and his friend Inge took the night train which is most recommended in the way that you will not waste the daylight time which you can use to go for sightseeing!

some mosquitoes bit her.... got no idea y didnt bite me... coz i smell like local malaysian??? lol in the 2nd class cabin

As ng yih miin reached in Alor setar, it was dawn about 6.30 am after approximate 6 hours trip by train.
From there, ng yih miin took a cab (car pool with other passenger) as most ppl stopping at Arau or Alor Star is heading to Langkawi as well!!!! this will be cheaper... a trip there will cost u approximate rm18 to rm20. Dont forget to ask question to the taxi driver of interesting places and cheap lodging available!!

Then, ng yih miin and inge took a ferry which cost for rm 23.00

This is my buddies that stayed together in the Rainbow Lodge!

It was my pleasure to have met from the left Inge Seger, A german guy, then ME, NG YIH MIIN, simon phang and Lauranza Harvey.

We rode on the motorbike around the island. It was NG YIH MIIN's first time riding on motorbike in his twenty years life, it was fun although five minutes out of the lodge , guess what happeneD???? AMUSING see below

Langkawi : Bryan Ng Yih Miin And Frenz

A few months ago

Bryan Ng Yih Miin and Inge from Denmark embarked on a great journey to Langkawi Island in Malaysia

for the very first time in their lifetime. Inge's a great acquaintance and buddy.

It is a very simple trip. On the first day, Bryan Ng Yih Miin and Inge took a long haul train from Sentral Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Perlis

which took approximately 8 hours and it was a night train.

The condition of the train of the 2nd class cabin was surprising good, airy and clean.

After reaching in Perlis, Bryan Ng Yih Miin took a ferry which was approximately an hour to Langkawi Island.

The scenery there was spectacular and it was Bryan Ng Yih Miin first time to the beautiful Island.

Important map of langkawi island that Bryan Ng Yih Miin printed out in a rush day before the trip. It is very useful.

It was so great that Bryan Ng Yih Miin met a couple from France. They are old but they are very nice people.

Although they barely speak English, the old french lady is absolutely friendly.

Once all of us reach the island, we took a taxi to our motel- Rainbow Lodge in Pantai Chenang.
