Isn’t it annoying when you know you had a really good idea, but did NOTHING about it?! Well…it stings a little… But on another note, cheers to all the amazing foodies that HAVE done something about their passion for food and have decided to share their knowledge with the world by giving some of the best tours you can get in Buenos Aires… Food Tours!

fuddis Tours

One of the first according to my records, these gals take around town with different bites across the city. They were also involved in the first Buenos Aires Food Week ever.

Outtrippin

These guys take it up a notch and combine food, with scenic views of the cities art. They take you off the beaten path, and even through in an empanada cooking lesson!

BA Food Tours

Tours are organized according to neighborhoods. They focus on the most traditional areas of the city such as San Telmo, and La Boca. These neighborhoods are good for touring in groups as they can be tricky on your own.

*Photo featured is courtesy of BA Food Tours

Landing Pad BA Tours

One of the first expat based tours in the city. LPBA takes you around town, teaches you how to cook and makes sure to include wine tasting in their repertoire.

Pick up the Fork – Food Tour

Allie Lazar shares her knowledge of food and her local expertise on her BA Food Tour. A great way to get shown around by a true insider, Allie is an expat that has been living in BA for several years.

Am I missing someone amazing? Let me know!

To be held from April 15th through 21st, all meals will include 3 courses and cost $99 for lunch or $169 for dinner. This is a great way to try different restaurants in the city.

It’s not secret that Argentine’s are huge fans of american fast food. We have about 2 McD’s per city block and Starbucks has spread like wildfire in the last few years. Joining the ranks as of 2013 are two big names in fast food, KFC and PF Chang’s.

KFC Argentina :

KFC is a staple fast food venue pretty much everywhere in the US. Their first restaurant in Buenos Aires can be found on the 3rd floor of the Alto Palermo Shopping Mall. In the past few years a few fast food delivery and take away restaurants have been doing well selling fried chicken. In my neighborhood, they even offer hot sauce! We will see if Sanders can take away from Ronald… In a country where chicken vs. beef hardly ever favors poultry, it will be interesting to see how the public responds.

PF Chang’s:

Entering the market as the first major Chinese food chain outside of a shopping mall, (most asian food chains in Bs. As. are japanese style cuisine). Porteños love their chinese food and sushi, which would indicate that this could be a big success. PF Chang’s is looking to make as big a splash in high end neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, following the example of the japanese eatery Benihana another foreign franchise. PF Chang’s is currently located in the residential neighborhood of San Isidro, which might put a dent in Kansas‘ popularity in that area.

Another brand expanding in Latin America is Dunkin Donuts. While their attempt to enter the argentine market failed back in the 90′s one could argue that our current love of all things Starbucks may have affected consumer tastes enough to make a new attempt. I guess time will tell. (info courtesy of: Infobae)

His menu is quite original for Argentina. I especially love the inclusion of a sides menu with options such as sauteed radicchio with raisins and almonds or thier potato pancakes. Thier Wednesday Jazz and Thursday all night long happy hours are quite enticing as well…

Finding a good healthy meal downtown can sometimes be a challenge. If you are looking to skip the Sandwich de Milanesa and empanadas, Dill and Drinks has a few originals options. Their Bistro’s menu is heavy on seafood, which is not easy to find in Buenos Aires.

Their decor helps distract the mind from the hustle and bustle of the city streets, which lots of white and bright color accents. The Bistro is open for lunch weekdays, and for dinner service on Saturdays. You can also stop by in the late afternoon and enjoy their drink selection.
