of freedom of expression explaining that "F***K Isalm" group at facebook should not be taken literally. Rather, she explains :" F****ck simply means that we don't like Islam. We don't like what it is doing in the UK and we don't like the Sharia Law in the UK".

The controversial "F**ck Islam" group was deleted by Facebook yesterday and fears were expressed by most of the 7000 plus group members who said that this was Facebook's way of pandering to sensitivities of only one religion. The group noted that other F**ck sites such as F***ck Christianity; F***ck Judaism and even F***ck Buddhism should have likewise been deleted. Facebook members are now fearful that their favorite F**uck groups, where most of them exchange ideas on the wall, may also be deleted. Some have opted to consider joining other social networks instead like Multiply or Ning where they claim : "freedom of expression is real."

Reading Brian Gorrell's blog and the angry reactions of people against an Aussie who fired a Filipino for unAustralian toilet habits (or whatever that means) should THINK again about their "misplaced sensitivities". Frankly, Brian is right when he points out that there are dickheads and assholes everywhere in the world. He also is correct is pointing out the Filipino penchant for anything that has to do with "skin whitening".

How about watching this video and see how the people who really NEED OUR RAGE can sure use some of it? At least the Filipino who was fired because of his toilet habits had the MEDIA and some bloggers behind him. Another truth is that Australia (as a whole) is NOT a crazy fanatic abusive government which encourages this kind of abuse. The Australian system is not evil.

What about Saudi Arabia and Filipina maids who like this girl Jessica has been raped, tortured, forced to work THERE? Why does the supposed "democratic governments" keep diplomatic ties with a CRAZY EVIL state like Saudi Arabia? At least 300 Filipina maids are daily running to the Philippine Embassy there to seek refuge and no one seems to care. This isn't anything like the petty episode of "Desperate Housewives". This is a matter of life and death and it isn't only about ONE Filipina!

Why does President Arroyo keep sending Filipina maids to one of the most barbaric states in the planet? At least in the case of Flor Contemplacion some years ago, Fidel V Ramos had enough GUTS to cut off ties with Singapore.

Perhaps, our government can make a deal with Israel...instead of these wackos! While it sounds racist to rant about Sharia Law and Saudi Arabia, I can't help it after watching things like these. I blame the Philippine government for exporting "slave labor" much as I wish that Bibi Natanyahu wins the Israeli elections to give some Arabs in Saudi Arabia and in the Middle East 'something to think about like.. This blog supports TWO sites which aim to put a STOP to cyber-terrorism. They are The Jewish Internet Defense Forces and Smackdown.

WHY? This blog happens to be a member of the JIDF at Facebook, and most of my buddies are RATIONAL Jewish people who are called "apes and pigs" by the so-called "oppressed" Palestinians who continue to ridiculously insist that Jesus was a Palestinian. I mean, how wacko can that be? Some even insist that "there was never any Israel" despite the historical evidence that Israel existed more than 3,000 years ago. Then there are the psychos who insist that "the Holocaust never happened".If they weren't bent on murdering us ALL and doing another Mumbai or 9/11 they would simply be called "insane". The problem I have is that their insanity KILLS innocent people ALL AROUND THE WORLD! Remember how the same type of crazies rejoiced and partied in the streets when 9/11 happened? Or are we to forget that?

Most of these candidates for the funny farm cannot be forcibly be given the psycho-therapy they extremely need. After all, no real psycho would admit that they're mad... not even if they have no qualms in declaring that they want to kill every "infidel" (me included) because my grandmother was a Jew -- but hey, they wanna kill you too unless you convert to Islam and wear that outfit which aims to make women look like some "black ninja" (with only the eyes popping out).

I know the people behind the JIDF and I OPENLY support them and their efforts to "shut down" terrorist sites. After all, the internet can be used for both EVIL and GOOD. These GOOD people have taken the moral stance to choose GOOD instead of EVIL. If we do not "get our acts together" , the internet can be misused and we don't wish another terror attack being planned over the internet. Yes, as a proud member of the JIDF -- I feel it is RIGHT and MY RIGHT to support them.

See them at my links and realize that these are courageous people.

<a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/BugseysBlogsurditiesThistimeAround" rel="alternate" Anyway, this is for fans of Martin and Pops who have been part of most of our "teen years" and who wish to see them once again. Sure, so they're not married anymore -- but they were always one of the best teams we'll ever see in a long while.

The Martin-Pops Reunion Concert, "Missing You", will be held on February 6 (Martin's birthday) at the Araneta Coliseum. It has been such a long while since we've watched these two "twogether". Thus, for those who can attend their concert, why not see them together again!

Here also are some videos that are rather rare.... watch it and see what two people who were once in love (or who still are still in love but bullheaded?) looked like. I mean, after those psychos wanting to kill a British school teacher in Sudan over a Teddy Bear, now we have another of those funny Al Quiada edicts declaring some veggies "sinful". Thus, cucumbers are not allowed to be purchased by women because they are too "sexy" and by some warped twist of logic- it is now deemed that "tomatos" are women and therefore, men should not purchase them.

How the heck can I even believe Arab media if the spin on veggies is so illogical that it boggles my mind? What kind of human beings can rationally declare a type of vegetable sexy? It seems that Israel is depicted as the "war bully" despite the FACT that Hamas (which is NOT a state but plain goons) has been using Gaza as a breeding grown for flaky Islamic fanatics who make no secret of their ultimate desire to destroy the Jewish state. In fact, it is NO SECRET that they have publicly announced that they wish with ALL THEIR HEARTS, to the last drop of their blood (blah! blah! blah!) to push the state of Israel to the sea or "somehow" make it vanish no matter what the cost.

Now, that's hardly a rational desire, isn't it? These psychos have been sending rockets to S'derot and other israeli cities and towns since 2001 and they take pleasure in harming any Jew. They reason that to kill a Jew is okay because ALL Jews are consripts and thus there are no Jewish civilians. Nevermind if it's a "funny farm" or an "old aged home" that their rockets hit. After all, they are so damn sure that they are RIGHT -- they seem to have allah's cellphone number and this "allah" of theirs have been giving them rather violent instructions for years. Of course, they also have made no secret of the FACT that after obliterating Israel off the planet, their ultimate desire is an Islamic Palestinian State. How.. rational .. is .. that?

Of course, when one sees those little kids bloodied because Hamas have "misused" them as human shields, one naturally percieves Israel as the "brute". The fact is that rockets EVERYDAY to KILL and MAIM Israeli civilians (and kids too) but Israel has too much dignity to make a spectacle of bloody murder.

What I think ? Get mad.. I have no sympathy for Gaza or Palestine. WHY? Hamas is NOt a state and there should be no negotiations between a legitimate state and a terrorist organization. If the world were to deal with Hamas they might as well cuddle the Somali pirates! And Palestine? When was there ever a Palestine considering that Israel existed 3000 years ago! Palestinians made it clear with glee that they rejoice anyway at bloodshed and murder. Remember those 9/11 video clips of Palestinians REJOICING over the attack on the World Trade Center? They have danced in glee before, now they're crying.

Life sucks. Shit happens. If there is ANYTHING that these Palestinian sympathizers need, it is a reality check plus a one week vacation trip to some Islamic state like Iran or Saudi Arabia.
Yes, I love Israel much as some people hate it. xmlns:app="http://www.w3.org/2007/app">2008-10-20T10:56:48.293-07:00

Laugh !

Do we need humor on a daily basis?

Only the dead do not laugh. Or maybe zombies if the really exist. We do need humor everyday because it is the most natural way to show that we're happy about something. Living without humor is like living six feet under while we're still alive. Humor helps us not take ourselves too seriously. It helps us forgive ourselves and others for our petty mistakes. It makes us more tolerant of other people's mishaps and it makes our lives a comedy more than a tragedy.

Laughter is the best medicine, King Solomon declared. That is literally true.Take the case written about by Dr.Norman Cousins who studied the effect of laughter as an alternative pain management method. He subjected his patients to watching comedies and almost all of them did not feel pain after the "laughing session".Laughter is also better than a Valium. Thus said Arnold Glasgow, "Laughter is a tranquilizer with no side effects." When a person laughs, he releases endorphins which gives out that pleasant "high".Laughter has been proven to heal anxiety, panic attacks, even Cancer and a myriad other chronic diseases.Perhaps, it is because laughter greatly reduces stress and enables us to to be a ten notches happier than before we laughed. I don't know but there must be something "magical" about the laughter cure.

Laughter therapy is no joke. Today there are so many so-called "laughter clinics". The patient does nothing but laugh and watch comedies. Even CNN reports that Laughter Therapy should be taken more seriously and accepted as legitimate medicine after an Illinois clinic reported that most of the sick who participated in laughter therapy were free of chronic pain after several sessions.

Stress is reduced, blood pressure drops, depression is lifted, the immune system is boosted and often pain goes away after watching an hour of Mr. Bean or any comedy. Also most people do become calmer after a good laugh. Laughing is part of living and an expression of joy.

Aside from being therapeutic however, we all need laughter in our lives as much as we need to express ourselves. Laughing is like a prayer of thanksgiving that tells our God we thank Him for your joys no matter how difficult living in an imperfect world with imperfect people may be.It is seeing that humor in the most frustrating situations which make us divine.

So laugh now! Even wit no reason at all, and soon you'll laugh at the thought that you're laughing. You're alive! You've got a sense of humor. You're both human and divine. Isn't that feeling great?

Subscribe in a reader

And they ask "WHY"?

A twelve tear old boy born with only a leg is told by his Sunday School teacher that God loves all the children of the world. His heart desperately wants to believe that but he's old enough to ask WHY was he then born with only one leg? Somehow, his faith takes over as he puts on his prosthetic leg and tries to walk. Though he is constantly teased, he subconsciously chooses "faith" and believes that he is special - and because he has been taught the positive message that God loves him he instinctively knows that there MUST be something more than having two whole legs to live a fulfilling life. He ends up as a great Orthopedic surgeon years later. How familiar are these cases! Does anyone recall the name Jim Abbott, the one-armed pitcher for the California Angels? Or Adam Bender, the one-legged Little League pitcher? Does anyone know that Franklin D. Roosevelt had polio was an able Commander on Chief but he needed his wheelchair? Has anyone wondered how Helen Keller, born deaf and blind became one of the best writers in the world?

Helen Keller gives is her personal testimony in a few words : "Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light"? And her secret in her own words : "Unless we form the habit of going to the Bible in bright moments as well as in trouble, we cannot fully respond to its consolations because we lack equilibrium between light and darkness." Instead of choosing to wallow in self-pity and playing the "victim-role", Helen Keller defined herself in terms of her uniqueness which she found in her faith. Keller believed a hundred percent that the God of her Holy Bible would make help make her "see" and she did "see" the world better than most of those who could literally see. She took comfort, inspiration and motivation from the Bible and internalized the positive scriptural quites in her psyche.

Embracing the role of the victim is the game for "losers" - even if they're physical condition seems whole. Physical obstacles are not REAL obstacles as much as ones attitude and lack of faith in God and yourself are. Studying the lives of people who reached "greatness" even if "everything that was wrong the moment they are born.." is inspiring and motivating. One should always assume the "victorious" role - the "I can do it attitude"- and lean on God when discouragement seems to hit your gut.

It doesn't really matter what one believes because faith and determination does not recognize any "dogma". There is some truth to Oprah's "Law of Attraction" that what you positively expect usually turns out good.So is there truth in one of Joel Osteen's teachings that one must have the courage to visualize even the impossible to make it possible.

But what if we have our crummy days when we don't feel like believing anything? That happens. Even King David had his "depression days" but there is always the MOMENT AFTER when you begin to wipe the tears again and resume the fight. That is exactly the difference between religion and spirituality. Religion gives you RULES while spirituality UPLIFTS your heart and gladdens your soul.

Physical and spiritual obstacles aren't obstacles, they're challenges. They're like gold nuggets you can find in the most unexpected places that only you can recognize and pick up. WHY? - because they're only meant for you despite who or what you think you are.

Subscribe in a reader

The Perfect Wife???? Duh?

To be a perfect wife one must be made in Japan by some A-1 robotic manufacturing company. This perfect wife should not only have robotic movement functions but should likewise have a micro-chip embedded somewhere in that Barbie head that functions by (preferably) solar power remote control. Suggested functions of this remote control should include : 1. cooking 2.cleaning 3. massage 4. washing 5. automated sex skills 6. budgetary skills (or be a calculator). I doubt however if anyone would wish to marry this kind of perfect wife, but aside for the robotic kind, I think that the "perfect wife" will never be human.

Humans are not perfect, never will be. That is exactly why there is also no perfect husband. Adam and Eve weren't perfect because they were BOTH too fond of fruits. Had they been perfect, they wouldn't have been talking to snakes. Instead, they would have had the good sense to have chosen a dog for a pet instead or something normally domestic.

If by some miracle, there was one perfect wife, I wouldn't want to spend my life with her if I were a guy (and the other way around). What would my life be like if I were a contented man whose wife made no mistakes and who completely pleased me? Contentment can be boring and usually, contentment doesn't last. Is there any one human being here who can say that he/she is completely content? Besides, being married to a perfect wife would make me feel utterly and devastatingly flawed!

If I were a man, I'd want to be married to someone who drops the toothpaste cap in the bathroom floor sometimes and burn a few meals. I desire to have passionate arguments sometimes only to make up later and have hot sex! If I were a man, I'd love to be married to a woman who would share junk food with me sometimes then jog with me the next day to get rid of the calories.

There is no perfect wife. Well, some can dream on. But only the deluded would really believe that there is one perfect one exactly fit for him - that's like being 100 percent sure that you'd be the next power ball lottery winner. I take that back. There are more chances to win the power ball lottery than to be or to marry the perfect wife.

Of course, if a man wishes to hang-on to his delusion of finding that ONE perfect wife, he can save his lifetime earnings or rob several banks (or casinos) and find the best robot designer in the planet. I am sure that with the advances in technology plus millions of dollars, he can find the perfect wife.

Except that she won't be human.

And she won't really love him.

Subscribe in a reader

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/BugseysBlogsurditiesThistimeAround/~3/hIJxq-oqJEM/perfect-wife-duh.html" title="The Perfect Wife???? Well, her “brothers” may call her that, but you’re not one of her “brothers” and that may be a complication if you’re in love with her. Accept that you’re different because you don’t belong to her sub-culture. Neither should you “act out” something like your idea of “it” or you could look absurd.Sure, it can be initially difficult but remember the cliche’ that true love knows no bounds? Or no guts no glory. Anyway, if you are lovesick over a black woman, it is better to take the plunge than forever live in tormenting angst.

Understand that she isn’t a damsel in distress and she doesn’t need a White Knight. Besides, if she has real troubles, she usually has enough pride NOT to let you know until you’ve won her heart. Most black women are capable of taking care of themselves and others too. They’ll figure out “any given situation” their way. After all, the black woman of today is the result of a grand line-up of feisty mothers and grandmothers who were “Jills-of-all-trades” and experts of any “given situation”.Never call yourself her White Knight because she’s not THAT juvenile. Most black women are realists and pragmatists when it comes to love and choosing that special man to spend forever with. They know that knights exist only in fairy tales and that life isn’t one.

Thus,if you’re a white man in love with a black woman, make sure that you are totally in love with her. Anything less than being totally in love, is unacceptable. Most white men are awed by black women because they are naturally exotic but there is a vast difference between fascination and love.Loving a black woman means commitment and accepting her sub-culture,family, friends and what you may term as “sub-cultural eccentricities”.Most of what you may think are “eccentricities” are a their flair of creativity and independence.

If you think you’re definitely in love, cut the obsequiousness during the courting phase. Remember that black women are highly intelligent creatures who are gifted with an internal radar. They can tell if you are trying to manipulate their feelings and responses or if you’re being absolutely honest.

Being honest with them about yourself will save you from a lot of future issues.Love naturally demands complete honesty. So, if you really are in love with a black woman you should be courageous enough to be tell her only the truth.Be direct about your intentions and assure her that you’re giving her all the time to decide on it. Be open and express your feelings. If you feel intimidated because of “sub-cultural differences” ask her to help you understand the complexities.

Black women respect men who keep promises no matter how “small” the promises seem to be. If you say that you’re calling her on Saturday morning, make sure to give her a call. No, you won’t get away with : “Something came up and I just couldn’t get hold of a phone..” No matter how inconsequential your promise seems to have been, your word does matter. A man’s word of honor, may sound passe’ in today’s quick paced world but that is no excuse for black women. If you have a date and a real emergency arises ask someone to call her and inform her but never leave her waiting for no one. Never promise her gifts you can’t deliver even if it’s only a pizza. Establish your reliability from the start.

Truthfulness is a biggie. Most back women aren’t drama queens and may not say anything when they detect a “little lie” about a wee thing or two, but they aren’t forgetting it either. The only way to say something to a black woman is to tell it like it is. These women respect men who are truthful and secure enough to tell the women they love about their past indiscretions, their hang ups, and their families.Do not try and impress her by making-up tales like you’re a College graduate if you’re not. Neither should you tell her that you’ve never been married if you’re divorced. Be specific and truthful about your “facts”. Do not assume she won’t do a check on you.She may not check your story, but remember that a black woman recalls every story you tell her years later. You wouldn’t want to quarrel ten years later over the fact that “you said you had a College degree” a long time ago.

Family is a major for the black woman. Appreciate it when she tells you anecdotes from “Momma” or “Poppa”. Most black women treasure family ties and try and keep in touch with their parents and siblings no matter how independent they seem and how adult they are. There is no such thing as complete independence from their family.

Part of the virtues of a good black woman is recognizing her immediate roots and being part of her family’s support system. It isn’t unusual for a black woman to stay on the phone for hours to encourage a “sister”. Sister can mean any of her literal siblings of her closest circle of friends. Respect her uniqueness and admire the generosity of her soul instead of being annoyed.Calculate her feelings and if you feel that it would not make her feel awkward or uncomfortable, ask her if you can meet her immediate family. Show her that you are eager to be counted as part of her family and that you share her concerns about family and friends. On the other hand, do not be pushy and insist that you meet them unless she’s comfortable with the idea.

If you love her realize that some black women have deep Church roots. Despite their favorite red color manicure and pedicure and their stylish flair, most are attached to their Church and their “fellowship” friends. If you want her to fall in love with you, do something like taking her or fetching her from Church. Ask her questions about her faith and show that you are sincerely enthused by her spirituality.

Tell her about your work and job. There is nothing a black woman respects more than a man who can hold a great job and who makes it clear that he has big dreams and ambitions “for both of you and your future family”. On the other hand, share and clarify that you likewise respect women who are intelligent and steeped in their work or careers like her. If she is a career woman, make sure to complement her for every achievement she’s accomplished. Make it clear from the start that you admire career women. Somehow make her know that should you both decide to get married or live together you would consider a working or career woman as a partner rather than a competitor.

You do not have sex with a black woman, you make love with her. You gently touch her, hold her hand, hug her and show your affection by being touchy-feel and telling her that you love her. The wonderful thing about black women is that you can be mushy and vulnerable about telling her what you feel about her. Put on the dreamy music and open the wine.Don’t be timid.Be bold and ask her for a dance if she seems to be in the mood “for all the works”. You don’t have to call her Princess to treat her like one.Make her know that it is more of your desire to please her than to be pleased by her. When making love to her, give her the best foreplay before the “main event”.

Introduce her to your family and friends and show her that you mean business: that you are serious about her. Nothing touches the heart of a black woman more than being a real man who undoubtedly loves her.Do not brag about your family achievements or your family corporation. She may get the wrong impression that you’re showing her your family only to impress her.Instead make her feel like a special guest when she meets your family. Black women can be super-sensitive. Before you take her to your family, talk to your parents and siblings and ask them to help you make your girl feel part of the family even before you’re married.

Loving a black woman and being loved by her in return is rediscovering THE real life.Only this you have finally found your forever loyal friend, partner and lover to share it with.

Subscribe in a reader

Bugsey

Six years ago, there was this basket with 2 puppies literally shoved into my "care" because their mother died and they looked more like little "bunnies" to me rather than puppies.
I had no clue about how to take care of puppies so I decided on the dropper first... that didn't work for me until I decided to get and EVENFLO bottle and try Bear Brand milk. The two "babies" were like MY babies, but even so, it was difficult to keep two of them because they are endlessly crying like infants and one can only bottlefeed one-by-one. Anyway, one was a male and one was a female pup who both looked so much alike, except that the male one had a mask, like that of Beethoven and he was ALL white except for the mask and his bushy tail. I decided to call him BUGSEY(the male one). When a friend ofmine asked if she could have one I said, "Yes, but whatever is left I will take care of with all my heart". The one left in the basket was Bugsey.

WHY Bugsey? Because he looked more like a rabbit when I first saw him.Because he was a fast learner- he could poo poo at the newspaper when his eyes was still to open. He was one of the most intelligent new born pups that I ever knew or will probably ever know. There was no reational reaso why I loved him... or "favoured" him. I had a better dog with a full breed that he had... perhaps it was a basic example of "grace" ( unmerited free love).

Bugsey was and will always be my friend. during his puppy days, he would always stay in my room and as early as a month people were scared at him because he was extremely posessive. For some reason I loved that. He was an excellent ALPHA DOG --- yet he has always been affectionate in his own way. If he wanted food, he would place his head on my lap which meant he wanted SOMETHING like MY FOOD... (EVEN IF IT WAS SEX WITH THE FEMALE DOG OUTSIDE)

Bugsey will always be special - reminds me of an Exupery quote " " It is the time with your rose that makes her so special" and "One understands only what one tames" -- plus - "To Tame means to establish ties" :) Bugsey, was a dog, but he was likewise my friend, "my little prince". He was the one who wagged his tail when I come home sniffing for the chiken ( "kiken babes!", it was he who accompanid me through the dark nights when I felt alone, it was he whom I talked with, it was he who made me merry even when he stole my food or sprinkled "pee" (territorial) on anything new I came home with, it was he who looked at m with those soulful eyes as if he could say something.. it was he who could show me love and "naughty arrogance" at the same time, it was he who was mine for a long time:)

Bugsey could have "gone" earlier last year but it was the new year then and I did ask God for a miracle and God healed him then. He was a distemper survivor. I asked God to lend him to me for a year more and God listened to my heart. I prayed the same prayer last week, and perhaps, God wanted to tell me that Bugsey was "tired" or that there is now a better place for my Bugsey with him and those whom I have loved.

Bugsey will always be alive. There is something in investing love that never dies- it's immortal. He was such a proud and brave doggie that he didn't want me to even see him HURTING -- he didn't whimper. He was suffering trying to pee for 2 days then would try and try again and then strangely, wag his tail. He did not show weakness even if he knew I was crying. He decided to pass alone like the GREAT guard and friend that he was.

The day Bugsey died, after cleaning the "mess" and crying ... my other dog Blessie was biting on something in my vcd collection. I picked it up .. the vcd movie was called "PARADISE".

Bugsey simply wanted to comfort me (typical of him) and tell me that he's happy. He's in paradise:)

Thus I am thankful to God -- for that one dog who taught me that courage is good. Love may hurt but we can always love again because love never dies, really. I thank God for making me THINK that we are ALL HIS CREATURES with the same unlimited "time" on this earth and that the real life isn't really HERE -- it's in paradise :)

I did not lose a friend. He hasn't lost me. I now where Bugsey is and he knows where I am:)
I praise OUR Creator and can only say -- "God is good all the time! "

Subscribe in a reader

Diane

It would be common-even wrong- to call Diane my friend because she belongs to a different category than those whom I call "friends". She is "uncategorized", meaning MORE than a friend and closer to a soulmate.

Perhaps, I knew her in another life which explains why the first time we talked years ago it was as though we knew exactly what each other meant. If I were a man, she would be my ideal bride. If I were a rose, I would choose her garden to show my flair. If I were a dog, I would choose her lap to rest on. I am extremely comfy with her.

That is despite the fact that she is FOR the death penalty and believes that Scott Peterson is guilty and should die.I hate the death penalty. I think it's "state sanctioned murder". I love Diane despite her utterly unobjective views :)She believes in ALL of the laws, I find some laws unreasonable. But we are both democrats:) I love the fact that she lives in a blue state.

I love Diane because she is fun. Despite her fears of breaking the law when I sent her one pirated dvd, we intend to rob Fort Knox. We relish the thought of the excitement - even a virtual one - as we discuss how we would go about it. I love Diane because she is as cheap as I am, we love rushing to ebay to purchase those Mary Kay samples and we have no pretenses like : " Oh because we heard that samples are better". No-- we know-- we like it because they are cheap and we say so. I love Diane because of her Midwestern pride and work ethic. Like, when she keeps her YM open at the office and tells me :" sorry, will have delays in replying.. boss was here!" I love Diane because we BOTH love food, we both have weight problems, we are BOTH not perfect and we openly discuss it with jest.

I love Diane because she has incredible wit and we love the repartee. I love Diane because I can call her at 2:30 am her time and say : " I forgot... you aren't here.." And we would both laugh and chat anyway. I love Diane because I can trust her and she can trust me and we BOTH know it.I love Diane because she and I can be kids again and we do not pontificate about such huge issues as immaturity, saneness and serious matters.

I love Diane because she is Diane.

"Grown-ups never understand anything for themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them."

Antoine de Saint-Exupery, "The Little Prince", 1943

"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye."

-Antoine De Saint-Exupery

Subscribe in a reader

I Held Her Hand at a Funeral

The internet was "new" then, some seven or eight years ago. We found ourselves somehow in a chatroom where everyone "knew each other" and one of our "friends" had died in a car accident.
We attended the wake at 3 am. Everyone was there. Even "Meagan".

Meagan felt alone and so did I. My grandmother had just taken leave to the Pearly Gates and she was "everyone's life" so we all felt dead and empty. That was when I decided it wouldn't hurt to hold Meagan's hand in what was probably the first virtual funeral rites held at the internet.

I typed for some reason.. " holding Meagan's hand". There were no emoticons then.

After that, I would open my chat and find her there. She was always there. I was always there. It was as if we had TOO MUCH of a cosmic connection. I knew what she would say, she knew what I would say. It was too weird. That was when I decided she was my friend, not my online buddy.

One Christmas Eve and I was feeling miserable I called her while binging over pizza and we chatted for hours. I still do the same now, maybe not for hours.

I can say I have known her for all my life. She can probably say the same.

In the vastness of the universe, how can one explain two people on different parts of the world finding each other and pouring all the trust and love for the other? That's love I guess.

That's MAJOR ! I would think she is my truest friend and this we both know : we are never alone nor will ever be again.

"Meagan" and "Ruby" reach out from the vastness
of the planet called Aloneness
It was though Providence had ordained it
and that their souls knew it-- their keyboards click
And everything was no never so bleak...

Subscribe in a reader

Sally

Sally. You would think that everyone has a Sally because, well, almost everyone knows anyone by that name. I have three Sally's, all human. The Sally I am talking about though is an online buddy whom I THINK I know because it is assumed that we all know our online buddies.Right?

I think that it is all a matter of perception. But the strange thing about Sally is her sensitivity to the most minor "undercurrent". How the heck do I put it? This way : "She just knows". Period. It must be the dog-loving instinct because that is the seemingly cosmic thingy that we both share. Thus, she detects when I am in my "grrr-ing moods" I guess? I detect when she is in the same. Convenient, but we we also love to go into "clever" word exchanges during these "undercurrents".

That is exactly what makes this Sally unique however. I write : " I think I am a bitch so be warned" She replies "yup", and she does mean it as much as I do and I love that! After all, what would blogs be with just the boring sugary cliches? Let's get real once in a while! Something like " I think, therefore, I exist" or "I am annoyed, therefore I exist".

Sally blogs REAL and at times, as "raw" (NOT rawdy though) as I do. Yet, she has a penchant for angels and her blog entries overflows with love for the human race. Something, I admittedly lack. Why? Because there is too much war and global warming in this planet to make me love my crummy litterbug neighbor or George Bush.

Which is why this Sally is a rare creature.

Heck and yes, I love her even if she irritatingly wishes to "spread all the love".

Her cup runneth over. Mine remains full, because I am perhaps scared to "let it flow". But I assure you, we are BOTH only human.

I have a strange feeling that she will soon be my friend.

" To tame means to establish ties" - Antoine de Saint Exupery

Subscribe in a reader
