Whenever we are going through or have gone through horrific circumstances, we can often feel like it was all for nothing. But what if I can tell you that there is, in fact, a purpose to what you've gone through.

A diamond is created by going through an intense process:

Bury carbon dioxide 100 miles into Earth.Heat to about 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Heat to about 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Squeeze under pressure of 725,000 pounds per square inch.

Quickly rush towards Earth’s surface to cool.

We can apply those same situations to our lives:

Bury - Buried pain so deep that it now shows up in all sorts of ways: promiscuity, anger, addictions, etc. Burying emotions so that life feels numb.

Heat - Being burned by way of physical, emotional, sexual, and all sorts of other types of tragedies. Or just feeling like life is a living hell.

Squeeze - Being under pressure all the time. Anxiety, stressed, and depressed.

Quickly - Never settling down and being calm. Always having to go, do, be...

This stone has a brutal process to become what it is intended to be. A beautiful diamond that shines bright and it's value is worth more than all other gems.

The same is said for you! You have overcome obstacles to become the beautiful woman that God has intended you to be. A beautiful, spiritual, woman that shines brighter than the rest. Because of what you've been through, your shine is now a glimmer of hope for others still going through.

So shine on ladies...

A Damaged Flower Still Blooms

Many women suffer from being abused from such a young age. They are abused mentally, physically, and sexually before they even had the chance to grow into the woman that God has called them to be. When your innocence is shattered at such a young age, it has the potential to damage you for the rest of your life. You can become bitter, hurt, ashamed, guilty, angry, distrustful, guarded, etc. All of these emotions are of the devil. They hinder you from experiencing what the love of Christ feels like which is,

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Think about a flower! When in spring, it is in the beginning stages of life and is very vulnerable. It needs time to develop, mature, and grow into something beautiful. It it delicate and soft and the process can't be rushed or it will damage the flower before it had a chance to grow into its full potential. Now let's imagine that that flower bud represents your young spirit. When you were born and took your very first breath, the angels in heaven rejoiced because they knew your potential and knew the plans that God had for you. At that same moment, the demons in hell shuddered because they also knew the plans that God had for you. So even in your early beginning the devil knew what was just released into the world and had his demons from hell on assignment to you.

When you were molested and/or abused, it was designed to stop you from becoming the woman of God that you were called to be. BUT GOD!! See you are an over-comer and you can and will continue on your path that God has assigned you. The devil is a liar!! He is scared to death of you, that's why he sent attacks on you from the very beginning to stop you. But he can't stop what God has already put in motion. The devil doesn't attack what's already his or what is not a threat!!

If you have been molested/abused: pray that God will restore you, ask for the strength to forgive those that have hurt you, and rejoice because you are now a new creature in Christ! What the devil meant for harm, God is using for your good! Now you have become the kind of woman that when you open your eyes each morning, all the devils in hell will mourn and say "She's up!!!"

Ladies, let's talk! It breaks my heart to know that many of you are struggling with feelings of "not enough". You feel that you are not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, strong enough, sexy enough, worthy enough, and so on and so on. Here's the good news, "You are ROYALTY!!!" Your father in heaven is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! So that, my dear, automatically makes you a princess. The best part about all of this is that you don't have to do anything to earn it. Your crown has already been bought and paid for by the precious blood of Jesus.

See life can make you feel not enough. Bad relationships(Lord knows I've had my share) can make you feel not enough. Failed goals(I've had lots) can make you feel not enough. That's just the enemy trying to make you put down your crown, or lower your head so that your crown falls off and breaks. See he can't take your crown off of your head, he can only send situations, hardships, etc to make you remove it yourself. The devil is a liar!! Pick up your crown and know that no matter what the circumstances are, you are still royalty!!

Get a Divorce!!

How many single people understand that you may first need to get a divorce in order to have the Godly spouse that God has for you. Let me explain... Whenever we are intimate with someone we have now created a soul tie with that person. When we lay with someone, we have just entered into an agreement of spiritual connection.

As in marriage, Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh....Genesis 2:24

Or in sin, What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.... 1 Corinthians 6:16

Soul ties are strongholds created to torment your mind, body, and soul!!

Ways that soul ties are created are sexually, spending time, flirting, talking to, relying on etc... They are mental strongholds that create a blockage in your love life and prevent God from giving you the person that He designed for you. God will not send a righteous child of His to you if you're still laying up with so and so. In other words, you can't say you're waiting for Boaz while sleeping with Bozo in the meanwhile!! God will not bless that mess!

Prayer for broken strongholds, fasting, and covering by a spiritual leader will help you regain control back over your love life.You have to divorce those ties in order to gain a healthy relationship. If someone is still present in your heart but not present physically, their is still no room for them emotionally. This also applies to a person that's married! You are NOT fully present with your spouse if someone else shares your time, your mind, your heart, or your bed.

GET A DIVORCE!!! Set yourself free so that you can have the love that God ordained for your life!

How you treat your spouse is a direct reflection of you! When you are married you are essentially one in the same according to the word.

Mark 10:8~and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

So why then would someone treat another, who they vowed to love honor and cherish, like anything less than? The answer is simply that's how they usually feel about themselves. See "like" attracts "like". For example, if a woman consistently cheats, then she feels she is not worthy of being faithful to. So she has a "get them before they get me mentality" because in her mind it's going to happen anyway. So why not be the first one because she will never be anything but a side piece and in turn treats him as such. Another example is a man who abuses a woman. It's because he feels broken and worthy of abuse and maybe has been abused himself. His weakness is reflected in her eyes when he hits her. He then attacks her but is actually attacking his own weaknesses and the pain he feels toward himself or the abuser that was once abusing him.This is just an attack on the mind by the enemy!

You have to first love yourself before you can then love others. Because no one can give what they don't have for themselves. You have to accept God's grace, love and forgiveness for yourself so He can heal any brokenness within you. "Hurt" people "hurt" people but "healed" people "heal" people!

Treating your spouse well means you directly benefit from this. If you want to feel valued, value her. Think of it this way, you can't treat someone like a jester and expect king behavior from them. You can't treat someone like trash and expect them to smell like roses. If your wife smells with bad behavior; clean her with compliments and wash her with the word.

Remember, if you treat her like a queen... she will feel like a queen. The man that is married to a queen is always a king!!

Ride or Die Consequences

There's a saying that goes, "ride or die." The saying implies that someone will be there for a person when they're down, or stay with them no matter what. This quality is admirable and should be a balanced, give and take, part of any relationship. But there can come a time when it can become one sided and not benefit you. Know when enough is enough!! A person can ride with someone way past time; you can wait for financial assistance from them that never comes, you can tolerate cheating for way too long, you can be abused both mentally and physically, etc. Examples of this is when you're faithful to someone in prison for years that won't even be faithful during your shift at work! Or when you ride with someone ten years who won't ride to the jewelry store to buy an engagement ring? God did not create ANYONE to be somebody's fool!! It's one thing to help somebody when they need you but make sure you ask yourself if they would do the same for you? If you have trouble answering that then remember what they have done "for" you or "to" you recently and that should answer your question. Don't ever constantly give to someone who never gives back, this includes both family and friends. You'll know when you have given too much because you can feel it in your spirit that you are drained, tired, and worn out. When you ride too much you could die spiritually, mentally and even physically.

Whenever you see a single mom and kids that are acting out of control, its because they are. They are simply missing the head(man) from the body. 1 Corinthians 11:3~ "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God."

Nothing can function without the head!! Any animal that has its head cut off goes into a chaotic frenzy; running wildly, falling over things, stumbling over itself before it lays dead. This is also the chaos that families are in without its head. This frenzy manifests itself in many ways; partying, self medicating with alcohol and drugs, kids acting out, fighting with peers, etc...

It is not God's desire for women to be left alone to fend for themselves and their children as they are the weaker vessels. They are vulnerable to the enemy's attacks; spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Remember, the goal is to cut off the head and the end result is death.
Genesis 2:18 says, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." But that also works both ways! Proverbs 18:22 says, "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD."

Families are under attack and need to stand united against the enemy!! We need men to take their place as the head of the households and women have to allow it to take place. This is not to say that all will be perfect, but so that God can stand with the family! Ecclesiastes 4:12~Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Pimps in the Pulpit

There is an epidemic of men in ministry who are pimping from the pulpit. Ministers, clergy, music directors, etc. are leading many a women to bed instead of to the bible....Some men in ministry are treating the ministry as their own personal harem of concubines.

Ladies, Matthew 7:6 says, "Do not give what is holy to dogs." And some men in ministry are barking! Remember, if you lay down with dogs, you'll rise with flees. Are you scratching? The scripture also says, "don't cast your pearls to swine." Let's not continue to play in the mud with pigs and expect not to get dirty.

We have to close our legs and open our bibles so that we can resist, or break free from sexual sin. Let's not ride that train straight to hell behind a false prophet. And if you're not sure if he is a false prophet, then remember this, if he's trying to sleep with or or has slept with you, that's a hint and a half!

Men in the ministry, I'm asking that you pull up your pants, push down your ego and be about the business of the Lord. Don't just preach about it, be about it!! Get your flesh under subjection, resist the devil and he shall flee.

Fasting and prayer are ways to have freedom from the past and to walk toward your glorious future. Even if it was yesterday, that's still the past. Both men in ministry and their participants can both be set free and made whole in Him that they serve.

I now declare and decree that whomever has been involved in this has now been released of this bondage!!! Be free, walk in your newness and praise God!

Handle Your Business

1) This first step is to simply, handle (YOUR) business!!

And you know what that means.... you can't handle your own if you're too busy in somebody else's! So you can't be looking over here, or looking over there, if your trying to handle (your) business. What that looks like is when your praising someone's house instead of cleaning up your own. Or coveting someone's position at work, instead of climbing the corporate ladder right from where you are.

Matthew 25:23 says, His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Listen...You just have to make it work, and make it work for you and not nobody else. The saddest thing in the world is when you want something somebody else has and you don't even really want that thing. For example, you're working two jobs to pay for a house like "whomever", but you really want an apartment.

You have the ability to have the life YOU want. It may take you a few extra steps than it did someone else, it may take you more work than someone else, but you can have it... NOW GO GET IT!!

2) The second step is, to (KNOW) your business!!

You can't handle what you don't know. God has given each and every person a purpose. And when you can identify that purpose, you can now start to walk in it.

Psalms 138:8 says, The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me:(or ESV version-The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me) thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

If you don't know what your business is, then ask the Lord to guide you so that you wont be lost in life.You have a mighty work that has to be completed and it can ONLY come through you. How many ministries are not yet started because they're waiting on YOU. How many people are missing a need because YOU haven't supplied it yet... NOW GO DO IT!!

3) The third step is, (PREPARE) for your business!!

There is a saying that goes, "Can you stand to be blessed?" And this is very much still true. You have to be ready for your purpose before you can walk in it. If you give a gambler a million before you've given him treatment, financial advisement, etc. he will just gamble it all away on a weekend trip to Vegas. We are the same way with any situation.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We have prep work to do before we can handle our business or we will lose it all. Prep work saves you time, energy, money, etc. so do the work so that you won't have to start over again. When you focus on God, He will transform your mind so that you can handle your blessings. NO GO RECEIVE IT!!

Giuseppe Shoes DIY

I was going about my merry little way screen-shopping(window-shopping, but online) as usual, when I spotted something that made me squeal. It was the mother of all shoes, the spring/summer line of Giuseppe Zanotti featured a pair with "Crock Rock jewel" on them!!!

Oh My Goodness!!!

I wanted these shoes, and especially since I'm from the bayou state of Louisiana. But there was one HUGE problem, the $ 1,595.00 price tag.

So, the wheels in my head got to turning, and I say to myself...self why not try a DIY. (Kids make you talk to yourself from time to time...lol) And this is my version in a step by step process.

unfortunately I couldn't find gators,

but I did find lizards...eh close enough

old pair of shoes, I was going to donate

I gave my little lizards the old "Midas Touch"

with paint I had on hand

I just removed the bunched ribbon detail

All done!!!

I love these!!!!

So glad I was able to DIY them.

My version was only $2 for the two lizards at $1 each.

A lot less than $1600....(umm YEA!)

New Testament in 30 Days

Please note this is the original post, and that this reading will start in 2014!!

This year I would love to start off on a spiritual awakening!!! I have been led by the Holy Spirit to study the New Testament and apply the teachings to my everyday life as a wife, mother, and child of God. Wouldn't everyone love to get closer to God through his word and living by the scriptures to enhance their walk with Him. This is why, I'm starting a 30 day reading plan for the new year of 2012!!

I will read the new testament in 30 days starting Jan. 1, 2012. I plan to start the day with my reading and prayer, but you can designate your own time schedule with whatever works best for you. God has given me this assignment, so that I may revive my life according to His word and apply the practical teachings to help me be a light for my children and all that surround me.

If you would like to join us please do so and link up!! My reading plan averages about 5 chapters a day and has a catch up day on Jan. 31 if you miss a day. Even if you finish later on, don't feel bad. This is not a race! Just keep going until you can complete the entire reading, no matter how long it takes. The most important part is getting into God's word and I know that you will find what God has for your life in the scriptures! Have Fun and Many Blessings to You!

$10 Laundry Room redo

I've been really wanting to redo my laundry room. Maybe it's because I'll feel more "inspired" to do laundry. Hey, whatever helps right...

Here is where I started...

nothing exciting...

I knew I didn't want to spend much or do any time consuming repairs for now. I just stuck to quick fixes, to give it fresher update...

I made a trip to the Dollar Tree and bought a small hamper, black rug, shelf liner, 3 metal suns, and black wire basket totaling $7. Then I had to go to the Family Dollar because D.T. was out of flower baskets. F.D. was out too, but had flower basket stands. So, I got 2= $2. Using what I already had my laundry room total was a whooping $9!!!

I saw an incredible scarf at a store while shopping and was just about to buy it when I had a notion. Hmmmm, this would make and easy and ~~cheap~~ inexpensive DIY project!! So I ran to Hobby Lobby and found all that I needed for around $3, YEAUUUUH(Regular Show voice)!!

place metal tip over end and wire...

Voila....

Not bad, not bad at all!! So, for under $3 bucks I got a custom scarf that rivals any fancy one I saw, but without a fancy price.

My fridge can get really piled up with leftovers, foods, etc... I have tried to organize it but to no avail. I finally took at trip to my Dollar Tree and found some ~~cheap~~ inexpensive items to help me get and keep my fridge in order.

Here's what it looks like now...

These baskets hold my lunchables, yogurt and small leftover containers...

Small wire shelf holds breakfast meats(top) and lunch meats(bottom),

while the the other shelf holds sour creams, dips, and butter underneath.

There's still plenty of room in front for other foods...

This upside down basket keeps my breads in order...

glass bowl to keep eggs...

Not only does it look better, but it now has a place for everything and everything in its place. I "LOVE" the fact that I can rearrange these as I need them. The best part of it is...wait for it....everything cost $1 each!!!!

I am a mother of four girls ranging in different ages and stages. I'm so proud to be able to raise them and guide them in life. But what is becoming more and more difficult to deal with, is the worlds view on women and the horrible influences on our daughters.You don't have to look far to see half naked women on billboards, hear provocative song lyrics on the radio, and see the sexual innuendos in commercials already.

But even the younger girls are being shown sexualized on T.V. also...

Not to mention the reality shows that promote bad behavior in a glorifying light...

I fear that the world is giving girls a false sense of reality! The world has ruled that sex sells and it shows! That bad behavior, drinking, drugs, teen pregnancy, vulgar speech, underage sex, fights, etc. is good and should be seen as typical way of life. I pray for my daughters and the world I have to release them into someday when they are adults. Until they are, I have to protect their little minds and hearts from being damaged as much as I can. I sit down and explain these myths that the world has given them as truth.

myth #1=your beauty is your worth

My husband and I often reassure them that they are beautiful because they are children of God. It's not what's on the outside that matters, but the inside.

Proverbs 31:30 Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

1 Peter 3:3-4 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

myth #2=if you got it, flaunt it

Videos, ads, songs, commercials, etc... do not show how real women who value themselves dress. This is merely a marketing tool based on sex sells, and in our society it does. But I remind them that we are in the world not of it.

Proverbs 11:22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

myth #3=bad behavior is revered

Only in so-called reality shows where this behavior makes for great ratings, or among chaotic minded people is this acceptable. I also explain that in real life, fighting, threats, DUI, drugs, etc... has real life consequences because there is a little something called the law that makes this unacceptable. But even more important is how you handle yourself before God!

Titus 2:3 older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. I assure you that I am not blaming the media! I know that raising our girls is a parents job, not the media. That's why I teach them to resist the devil and he will flee. I teach them that all of these images, songs, ideals, etc.. are available, but you don't have to follow them. And I'm not delusional to the fact that they will ultimately live their lives their way once they leave my home. But I'm a firm believer in God's teachings on raising children, and lifting them up in prayer!

homemade banana bread

I was looking up some easy recipes last night and came across this one on youtube and decided to try it! The ingredients were things I already had on hand in my kitchen, so I got to work.

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 eggs, beaten

2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas

the nanners...

soft ingredients...

then add dry ingredients...

transfer to a greased pan...

bake...

let cool and you're done...ENJOY!!!

It's time to unpack

My daughter runs track and she's also a distance runner. How many of you out there know that when you run, you don't feel the pain or emotions that that come with it until you actually stop! This is what is happening to me at this point in my life. I have been running from past situations for sooo long that I forgot they were even there. Now, I have decided to stop and not on my own might I add.

Because how many of you know that when you run, your body, mind, and emotions(stamina/endurance) runs out and you have no choice but to stop. And that is when all the pain, hurt, anger, disappointments, fear, shame, frustrations etc... catch up with you. Then you go through life trying to walk on your path carrying tons of baggage with you. You can't be successful with the unnecessary weight of burdens!

It's time to unpack ladies!! These baggages aren't going anywhere until you unpack them and deal with them. How many of us have boxes with clothes we can no longer fit, old keepsakes, piles and piles of stuff, stored away in our home. You have to know that they will not unpack and sort themselves, YOU have to do the work!

I know you get tired just thinking about how big of a chore or how much time, or how big of a nuisance this is going to be. But it's not going to disappear and when you least expect it, you will stumble over those boxes from time to time. Yes, it will be smelly because you haven't opened them in a long time. It will probably have mildew and mold from siting dormant for so long. And you will have hard work to do to get it all done. But once it is dealt with, its done!!

You will no longer have to face stumbling over it anymore. No more having anxiety over someone finding out what you have hidden. No more will your issues show up in your life, work, marriage, children, etc...You won't have to carry these burdens anymore and you can breath a sigh of relief knowing all is well!! It's time to not just take our issues to God, but to bring God to our issues! Once you tap into the spirit of God and use the holy spirit, you now have authority over what once had authority over you! With prayer, fasting, exhaling yourself, and speaking a word over your situations you can now stop running from it and stroll through life!

DT tile mirror~DIY

Ever since my picture was broken in the stairway of my home, I've been on the look out for a ~~cheap~~ thrifty alternative. I finally found what I was looking for at my ole trusty Dollar Tree!! I found some 8 1/2X11 mirrors for $1 each and got to work.

This is what I started with...

I laid them out on the floor how I wanted,

As you can see, I had a little help

I positioned the mirrors the way I wanted...

Got out my duck tape and taped it up...

Here is the final product...

I loved how it turned out and was even more impressed with the price

of eight dollars for eight mirrors...Gotta love dollar tree!!!
