Summer is finally here and after some unexpected rain early January, the Buller River is holding up at an awesome level for the summer white water rafting! No chance of running out of water on the big volume ‘Earthquake Rapids’ section in the Upper Buller Gorge, where our entertaining roller coaster rapids will provide you with some ultimate white water fun and adventure. Our white water rafting trips depart daily at 10.15am from our Buller Adventure Tours base near Westport and at 10.30am from our White Water Action Rafting base in Murchison. Today stong winds and rain are keeping us all inside - including the horses! The Buller River is rising and will be up and pumping – big white water! Red ready for action!

The horse trekking at Buller Adventure Tours has been busy the last few days probably due to the warm, sunny weather – ideal for our 2 hour horse trek along the banks of the Buller River. Had quite a number of customers from the Kiwi Experience buses, many who have done heaps of riding in the UK, so plenty of cantering and galloping along the sand were enjoyed by those adventurous riders and of course our guide Nikki! Most horse riders came back with their gumboots full of water after going for a deeper than expected dip in the river on the homeward bound journey. The challenge is a 600 kilometre (372 mile) bicycle ride through Death Valley California+Nevada to raise US$1 million for the care of New Zealand children with cancer.
