So here’s how you do it:

1. Obviously you need to start with a killer headline. It may be the most important element of your article simply because if it doesn’t grab attention, no one will bother to read the rest and then your content, links and everything else don’t serve a purpose.

Your headline should be compelling but not full of hype. Readers love headlines that have numbers or ask questions. For example, “10 Ways To Slash Your Credit Card Debt” would be a compelling headline because the reader knows exactly what he is going to get. Asking a question compels them to read the rest just to find out the answer. This is a great method for capturing potential customers.

2. In the first paragraph of your article, you want to introduce exactly what you are going to be telling your reader and why you are sharing this information with them. (People always want to know the why!) Encourage them to read further by letting them know how important your information can be to them.

3. The body of the article should contain the main points you want to make. Keep this to just a couple paragraphs. This part of the article consists of detailed information that your reader will find useful. This is very important – if you provide something of value to the reader you are a million times more likely to get sales.

Many people make the mistake of writing bum marketing articles just for the sake of inserting keywords. These articles contain nothing useful for the reader and a lot of times they don’t even make sense! Put yourself in the shoes of your readers. Would you want to waste your time reading an article that contains nothing but a bunch of sentences strung together for the sake of keyword density?

You want to read something that is going to give you the information you were searching for in the first place when you came across the article. Always provide useful info and you can quickly develop a fan base. People will recognize you as someone who provides great information and as someone they can trust (expert!).

4. The last part of your bum marketing articles will be the conclusion. This can simply be a paragraph where you restate the most important main points and wrap everything up.

And here’s a hot tip – don’t write a final conclusive line – you know the ones that begin “In conclusion…”. This indicates that the article is over and readers will move on. If you skip this part people are much more likely to keep reading right into the super important resource box.

5. This little box is almost as important as your headline. Your resource box should contain four things. First of all include your name. Second, a workable link to the webpage or blog that contains an affiliate, products of your own, ads etc.Third, a brief sentence or two that explains the benefits of what your product has to offer. Imagine yourself with just 30 seconds to convince someone to visit your site. What would you say to them? (Also known as your USP.) Fourth, you need a call to action. This just tells your reader what to do. Tell them to click on your link to get a free offer or more information.

Bum marketing articles are massively effective if done correctly. Follow the above tips and you’ll be well on your way. Remember: Always provide useful information to your readers. And please… remember to proof read and spell check your articles!

In truth, most super affiliates use resources beyond the average marketers’ reach. They can make a lot of sales very quickly thanks to their massive email lists. They also often pour huge sums into pay per click campaigns. While these tactics are simply not an option (yet) for the vast majority, there are many things you can do to get yourself that much closer to your own super affiliate award.

Fix Your Website

Some people say that you can be an affiliate even if you don’t have your own website. While you can be an affiliate, you are missing out on the full income potential if you don’t have your own site. This gives you multiple ways and opportunities to sell to prospects, greatly boosting your sales.

Not just any site will do though. Users like websites that are clean and easy to use. You should limit your use of superlatives, glaring colors and large text for example. And make sure that all your pages have links to every other page for easy navigation and that all your pages feature helpful information and not just advertisements.

You should also organize your website according to content. Place affiliate product ads on the pages that have related content. Study click through and conversion statistics and reposition items or discard or replace items that are not earning.

Make Your Own Advertisements

Do not stick with your affiliate marketing program’s pre-set sales page and ads because other affiliates have the same ads. Write your own sale page, promotional content, follow up letters and ad content. Then test, track and tweak these to further increase your response and conversion rates.

Advertise Using Pay Per Click Programs

Advertise through PPC programs like Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing or Microsoft Adcenter. You only pay every time a user clicks on your ad. This is the most effective and fastest way to send targeted traffic to your website.

Starting a PPC campaign is easy enough, but for it to be profitable you have to do your homework. Do proper keyword research and be sure that your ads are interesting enough to get clicked. Make sure you continuously track and update your ads or you’ll just be throwing money away. As you get a solid ad campaign going, you can put some of your profits back into it, and eventually you’ll build a massive and highly profitable income stream.

Advertise On Related Sites

You can also advertise through multiple websites that have been indexed and ranked high by search engines. Enter keywords on a search engine to find sites related to your affiliate products. Check out these sites and inquire about the possibility of advertising through text links and banner ads.

Write Content For Search Engines

Internet users most often look for items and topics of interest through search engines. You should therefore put relevant content on your web site that will be easy for search engines to locate and rank. Search engines filter duplicate content so use only original content or edited PLR content. Make your content useful, informative and update it frequently so that users will keep on coming back to your site once they’ve found it through a search engine.

Build An E-mail List

Visitors to your website may not immediately buy an item on their first visit. Invite them to leave you their email addresses in exchange for free reports, ebooks or a newsletter related to your product topic. Use their email addresses to later invite them back to your affiliate site and stake another look at the products you are promoting.

Here’s the rundown on how to best use Squidoo for bum marketing:

Once you’ve signed up at squidoo.com just fill in the blanks that are provided to create a lens. Basically each lens you create will be a collection of articles / posts, with a few bells and whistles.

When building a lens you want to break up your information into several ‘modules’. Make sure the first module is a great introduction that makes use of all your keywords.

Your bum marketing keywords will become your Squidoo tags. Make sure you use these well in order to get the best search engine rankings. You should spend a decent amount of time optimizing your Squidoo lens for your chosen keywords.

Do you niche keyword research before you start creating your lens, and remember to make use of your long tail keywords. This is the key to successfully using Squidoo for bum marketing.

Include images, banners, videos, and of course the affiliate link in your lens to help sell readers on the niche product you are promoting. Be sure to make all your images, banners and pictures clickable… to your affiliate link. It’s also advantageous to link to quality sources of information that relate to your lens and include good descriptions for each link. If you have a related blog, website or anything else link to it.

You can link to related articles you’ve submitted to article directories through your bum marketing efforts, as well as other people’s websites on the subject. Once you’ve got multiple Squidoo lenses, you can also link those together for additional traffic.

In order to get the best use of the Squidoo lenses you’ve created, you should frequently add new content. This will have Google coming back to your lenses often, which will benefit you in the rankings. By having multiple modules in each lens you can add fresh content quite easily. You can also use an RSS feed to add new content to your lens.

And lastly, you should also create a bio for your Squidoo lens. This needs to include a picture of you and links to your sites. If you do this you might just wind up with your lens listed in the top Squidoo lenses. This would be a fantastic advantage for bum marketing on Squidoo – just think of all that traffic!

10. Another great Bum Marketing tip is to write a FAQ article. Visit Yahoo Answers or forums and find the most frequently asked questions concerning your niche. Then write a FAQ article around these questions.

11. Here’s another great Bum Marketing tips that most people don’t think about. Use a pen name when submitting your articles. This does two things. First of all, unless you are a natural born writer, your first articles may not be that great. A pen name will keep you from being embarrassed about the quality of your articles. Secondly, once you get well known in the Internet marketing circles, using a pen name will keep your competition from searching out your niche markets.

12. One of the most important tips of all. Be persistent. If you really want to make a decent living online it is going to take some hard work and persistence.

Research Keywords

You need to use the right keywords that people are actively searching for. Once you think you have one, an easy way to be sure you’re targeting the right long tail phrases is to check the number of searches and the competition for those keywords. Use a keyword tool to do your homework such as the one offered by Google or Overture. Be sure that your keywords are getting at least 500 searches a month or they may not be worth it. Check the competition by typing your keywords into a search engine (Google is best) and look at the number of results in quotes – make sure there are at least 1,000 and no more than 50,000.

Keyword Density

We all know the general idea. Write articles and submit them to article directories that rank well in search engines. But even if your articles get accepted to directories, you still have to make sure that your articles are keyword rich.

Keywords are the basic key to Bum Marketing articles. While you should of course write articles that offer great information you need your main keyword phrase to show up enough that the search engines will notice. Some Bum Marketing article writers set a standard of one keyword for every 100 words while some Bums slap a 3% to 5% keyword density on their articles – ideally, you’ll want to keep it somewhere in the 1% - 3% range, but remember to keep your articles legible.

Write A Lot Of Articles

Bum Marketing is a numbers game. That means it’s less about quality and more about quantity. That’s not to say you are allowed to write poor quality content. It just means you need to crank out as many acceptable articles as your poor fingers allow. The more articles you have out there, the greater the chances are of them getting read and your site being visited.

Choose Best Sites To Submit To

Not all article directory sites are created equal. EzineArticles.com, for example, may be one of the most popular sites to visit but they do not allow affiliate links. This may create a problem for you if you have to lead your readers to a landing site such as a blog first instead of directly to the product site. It will mean that you have to write both for the article directory and your blog. That’s a lot of writing.

A lot of Bum Marketers therefore prefer to also use alternative sites like Squidoo.com. This is because a site like Squidoo will allow affiliate links and has no long approval process, but they still rank relatively high in search engines.

Bookmark Your Articles

Register with some social bookmarking sites and bookmark your own articles and blogs. You can even use online services that will allow you to bookmark on a number of bookmarking sites all at once. This is an easy way to create backlinks to your articles and blogs.

Classified Ad Sites

Free ad sites like Craigslist.org and USFreeAds.com are also very popular with search engines. As such, Bum Marketers can make good use of these sites by submitting keyword-relevant ads to these sites redirecting readers to your affiliate link or other website.

“A niche market is a focused, targetable portion (subset) of a market sector.

By definition, then, a business that focuses on a niche market is addressing a need for a product or service that is not being addressed by mainstream providers. A niche market may be thought of as a narrowly defined group of potential customers.

A distinct niche market usually evolves out of a market niche, where potential demand is not met by any supply.

Such ventures are profitable because of disinterest on the part of large businesses and/or lack of awareness on the part of other small companies. The key to capitalizing on a niche market is to find or develop a market niche that has customers who are accessible, that is growing fast enough, and that is not owned by one established vendor already.”

Although exercise is by definition not a niche, a subset of exercise such as lower back exercises could be a niche. But is it profitable? You bet, but it also had a modest amount of competition.

With Bum Marketing, the goal is to find a niche where there isn’t a lot of competition, but there are enough buyers to make it profitable. If there’s a ton of competitors around, it’s going to be that much more difficult to dominate the niche and show up in search results. But on the other hand, if there aren’t enough people actively searching for a product similar to the one you’re promoting, as a result you’re not going to make many sales and earn much in the way of income. You need to find a healthy balance of the two and for most people, that’s one of the harder and more time consuming aspects of Bum Marketing.

So where do you find a niche that has enough buyers but not enough sellers? The easiest way is to look around you and your life. Look for and identify a problem that you’ve had or people around you have and find a solution to it. Ideally you’ll want to write about something you already know about so you don’t waste precious time with research and fact finding.

Maybe you lost some files on your computer recently and needed to buy file recovery software. You probably didn’t buy the very first software program you came across – you likely compared them a little including differences in price, features/benefits, ease of use and so on. File recovery software is a niche that you know enough about from your research you should be able to write 5 or so articles on it.

Some other placed that I regularly get ideas from include online forums, television, newspapers, advertisements, conversations, wanted ads and so on. Or if you’re really stuck, you could even go to eBay or Google and search for private label rights niche articles to get good ideas for topics. You can buy them if you like, then simply rewrite the articles to save time, or you can just borrow the niche or topics and write your own from scratch.

All in all, simply keep your eyes and ears open and a pen and paper handy, and you’ll come across more niches than you could ever utilize.

You might not have guessed it, but this blog is an integral part of my Bum Marketing success in just one of the many niches I’ve tapped into. What’s the niche you ask? Bum Marketing!

On the sales site for my ‘Advanced Bum Marketing Tactics & Techniques’ Report (www.BumMarketingTechniques.com), I’ve been averaging around 40 sales per month for the last 2 months or so at $37 each.

40 sales x $37 = $1,480 US per Month

I’ve spent less than 5 hours, setting it up (not including writing the report) and promoting the site. Here’s what I’ve done:

1. I registered a couple of domain names (www.BumMarketingTechniques.com & www.BumMarketingBlog.com using my existing hosting account. I also installed the necessary plugins, added a Google Sitemap, added links from several of my other blogs and submitted the blog to 10 relevant blog directories.

Total cost: about $16 for domain names.
Total cost: just under an hour for the domain name registration, blog installation, customization, plugin configuration and directory submission.

2. I then outsourced the writing of 20 Bum Marketing articles to a somewhat competent writer.

Total cost: about an hour communicating with writer and giving detailed descriptions of all 20 topics.
Total cost: $5 / article for a total of $100.

3. I quickly edited the 20 articles and started posting them to this blog at random intervals.

Total cost: around 2 hours or so.
Total cost: $0

4. I took 2 or 3 of the articles and submitted each one to 3 different high PR article directories.

Total cost: 30 minutes
Total cost: $0

Grand Total Time: 4.5 hours
Grand Total Cost: $116

Of course you can write the articles yourself, use a free Blogger or WordPress account and promote an affiliate product to save on the domain name registration costs, possible web hosting costs, outsourcing costs and product creation, but my time is more important than a the $116 dollars I paid.

I get most of my traffic from Google (and some from Yahoo and MSN), and a decent trickle also comes from the links on my other blogs and the articles I submitted.

BTW, I also had the www.BumMarketingTechniques.com site designed for $47 (which I bought as a WSO), but I didn’t include it (and the product creation time) because in most cases, to make the most out of Bum Marketing and save time you’ll likely want to promote affiliate products and earn commissions.

Anyways, that’s just a quick example of how I make just under $1,500 US per month using my Bum Marketing Techniques, or over $300 per hour of time spent, per Month… AND there’s no reason you can’t do the same!

1. Write as many articles as possible.

Bum Marketing is more about quantity than quality and common sense dictates that the more articles you have floating around in cyberspace, the more signature click you’ll get and the more income you’ll earn.

2. Write shorter articles.

The internet search, because of the immense quantity of information, requires a fast and focused search. That is why harboring the internet searchers’ short attention span is of utmost importance in being a Bum Marketer. Plus this goes hand in hand with tip #1, if you can write two 400 word articles instead of one 800 word one, you’ll have twice as many articles to your name.

3. Using keywords prominently in your article’s title.

For example, a person in a hurry looking specifically for ‘Golf Swing Strategies’ will generally stop to read an article if that word sticks out at them because it’s displayed prominently in the title.

4. Capitalizing on people’s emotions and passion instead of their every-day needs.

People buy things online based more upon their desires than their needs so only promote products which cater to wants or desires rather than on what people need.

5. Promote more expensive products instead of cheaper ones.

This tip hints to the age-old marketing principle that expensive products usually yield more profit than cheap ones. Your sales will be probably drop a little if you choose to make the switch from expensive to cheap, but increasing your overall commission is the goal here. Plus you’ve probably heard the saying. It’s not much harder to promote a $100 product vs. a $1,000 one… certainly not 10 times harder.

6. Go for products with recurring commissions.

This only makes sense. Why not sell them once and make money on a recurring basis? As with the previous tip, it’s not much harder to sell someone a recurring product vs. a one time sale. The combination of the two methods above may prove to be the most profitable, thus getting you a long-term residual income and keeping the amount of work to a minimum.

7. Sample the affiliate programs’ sales page yourself.

Check out the page. If it doesn’t compel you to buy (if you were in the market) will it compel the traffic you send? Probably not. Don’t waste your time.

8. Write review based articles.

Writing an unbiased review using your own thoughts on the product, highlighting both advantages and disadvantages can easily compel someone to buy the product linked in your sig, especially if you’re honest and it shows through in your writing. It also helps to include information about the producer or author of the item on sale. That way if someone is searching for such a product, there’s a good change they’ll buy through your link and you’ll bag the commission.

9. Only promote quality products with quality sales sites.

Writing a compelling article on a product is often never enough. The potential buyer needs to find a quality product and sales page after reading your article, otherwise you have wasted good article on low quality product, and worked in vain.

10. Write “How To” articles

These articles provide information on how to solve a specific problem “in a few simple steps” without having to be a specialist to do it. You can use these to promote a product that solves that exact specific problem without giving everything away in the article. Use the “how to” article as a primer for the product in your sig.
