Claremont Collage – Photo Collage Project

asundesign — Fri, 03 Dec 2010 00:10:01 +0000

Using photos of a location of our choosing, reconstruct the scene in a different way by the way you assemble the photos together. It’s supposed to be a new way of looking at a location or something like that. It was basically a project to have us work with photos in Photoshop. It was pretty fun.

The Old Couple – Vintage Tin Toy Illustration

asundesign — Wed, 03 Nov 2010 07:01:48 +0000

Take an old tin toy and give it life by putting the toy into a scene. Then give it an old look by using Photoshop brushes.

I used the inspiration of the 1950s housewife to create this scene. The girl robot is a crazy psycho housewife who lives to serve her robot husband.

Verisimilitude

asundesign — Wed, 20 Oct 2010 07:10:57 +0000

veri·sim·i·lar
1 : having the appearance of truth : probable
2 : depicting realism (as in art or literature)

Through framing, in-camera manipulation, contextual shift, and/or staging—introduce implications that question impulse to accept veracity of image.

In a nutshell, the objective of this project is to make the viewer question what they are really seeing in the photograph through in-camera manipulation (ie. Raw) and/or staging the objects before shooting. Basically, make the viewer go “Is this for real?!”

I had this idea to play with perspective but, due to the weather, I wasn’t able to re-shoot so I had to change my idea. I started shooting randomly around my front yard and I ended up with this shot below.

This was shot in between the raining. At first glance, you think that they may be a landscape. They’re rocks in a river or beach. It’s not. In actuality, this shot shows raindrops on top of a car. Amazing right? =) I’m surprised that I did so much with so little.

Digital Illustration Project One

Punk-rock inspired poster to advertise the class. I had the hardest time illustrating the character but I think it came out pretty good. =)

Bibliographer Website

asundesign — Sun, 03 Oct 2010 06:41:36 +0000

Right now, I’m working on my first project for my web design class. We’re making a website for a book. I’m doing The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Here are the different layout versions I came up with. I’m going to go with the first one. And I am very excited to be doing the coding right now for it. I feel like such a geek because I find so much joy in doing the coding. Lol.

Detournement: The New Mona

asundesign — Thu, 30 Sep 2010 23:45:58 +0000

Project for my Digital Studio class. From what I got, detournement is to take something and give it a new meaning by changing the context its in or adding something to it.

So, what I did was i juxtaposed different celebrity body parts onto the Mona Lisa. It’s supposed to be a commentary on beauty and fame. Even though the Mona Lisa is so famous and world-reknown, she would have to change things about her to become famous in today’s society.

This was fun to make =)

Kilusan Pilipino Shirt Design

asundesign — Mon, 27 Sep 2010 04:00:53 +0000

My brother’s girlfriend is in the Filipino Club at her school. They were accepting t-shirt designs so I made this one. It didn’t get picked. =/ I only wished I had more time to make a better one.
