Gigi can climb up on her glider all by herself. We are in trouble, she already nearly fell off the side 😂

New Renovation Project!

2015-06-22T20:56:00.001-07:00

Our little family is on to our next adventure, we sold our house in San Luis Obispo and bought a duplex in Atascadero! Each side of the duplex is a two bedroom one bath unit, however, we are working with a contractor friend to expand one of the sides to a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath. Once finished we will live in the expanded side, and rent out the other. It's all very exciting, but as we know from previous experience, this is going to be a very long process to reach the finish line.

The rental side is currently being worked on and should be finished by 4th of July. Yippee! Here are some pictures of the progress.

This is the front of the house, it's on a half acre. We will live on the left side, the rental is on the right. The front door for the rental will be moved to the side of the house so it less like a duplex.

This is the main room. The foundation for the entire house was completely shot, so the insides were gutted, fixed, and now everything is being put back together.

Soon this will be a super cute little kitchen for our renters 😊 You have to focus on the big picture with these things when your project starts off like this...

The hallway to the left of the kitchen is where the new front entrance will be. The closet there will house the laundry. In the back of the house are two small bedrooms flanking a bathroom. The whole unit is small, but it would work well for a young couple.

Our contractor hasn't even touched our side yet, the plans are being reviewed by the city. Hopefully they will be approved soon!

Father's Day

2015-06-22T20:12:00.001-07:00

Eric is a great dad to Georgia! We spent the weekend celebrating him by going to the beach, playing at the park and then enjoying some burgers and fries downtown. Happy Father's Day Eric!

Run baby run!

Georgia goes as fast as her little legs will take her and doesn't stop ALL day!

Avila Valley Barn

2015-06-22T20:04:00.001-07:00

We took a trip to Avila Valley Barn last weekend and Georgia had a fantastic time making friends with a the barn animals there.

Here she is feeding the goats

It's actually a fun place for kids, you can visit the animals and then go pick whatever fruit is in season around the farm. They also have an ice cream saloon, which is always a hit with Georgia!

13 Months

Georgia is growing growing growing. She truly is a busy body these days, always in motion! We took a few moments the other day to capture some sweet photos of her.

Over the last few weeks we discovered that Georgia is gaga over blueberries, especially if she gets to pick them herself!

Mouthful of blueberries

Here she is sporting a dress I wore as a baby, so adorable!

Georgia is walking! We have begun a new stage and I'm loving it! After falling down a few times trying to walk Georgia decided to do 'knee walking' for several weeks, which is shown in this video below

And here she is walking, talking and tactfully avoiding the dogs

One last video of her 'vacuuming' the dogs earlier today

Hopefully all the videos work!

1 Year Old

2015-05-18T20:31:00.001-07:00

Gigi is one year old! I can hardly believe that a year ago I was getting to hold my newborn baby for the first time. What a year it has been full of learning and growth for both her and I.

We are so thankful for her!

Good morning Princess Gigi!

Eating her birthday cake, she loved it!

Water Fun!

2015-03-28T22:13:00.001-07:00

It has been warming up around here and we've been loving going outside more often! Since discovering our yard a few weeks ago I can hardly keep her inside during the day. Georgia loves playing in the dirt, crawling in the grass, finding and throwing dog toys, running in the sprinklers with momma and splashing in her pool.

What's cuter than a baby in a swimsuit?

This weekend we enjoyed a family picnic at the beach. Even though I live here I forget how beautiful the central coast is!

I've been working on making an Easter dress for Georgia. This is the first piece of clothing I've attempted for her and it's turning out pretty good!

This little cutie is 10 months old! We had a short photo session since her outfit was so stylish

Today Gigi tried to take some steps unassisted, she didn't make it very far but I think she will be walking before her first birthday!

Not forgotten!

Hello everyone, it has been awhile but I'm back to post some updates!

Georgia turns 10 months on Friday! I love this little firecracker 😍😍

She is crawling everywhere, pulling up on furniture, cruising, and of course getting into trouble 😊.

Gigi currently has two teeth and is working on some top ones, hopefully they will be in soon. Teething is hard for baby and momma!

We went to Shaver lake with Eric's company this month and almost got snowed in! This was Georgia's first experience with snow!

We've been playing with the idea of a country house and have been looking at properties for the past year or so and have made offers on several properties. Finally, it looks like one of the properties may work out! If so, we will be embarking on a new stage of life...remodeling with a baby! Wish us luck 😄

Holidays!

2014-12-13T21:56:00.001-08:00

Boy, have we been busy! We packed up everything and spent two weeks at the Smiley grandparents house for Thanksgiving and it was great!

Georgia got to spend some time with her cousins which was entertaining and overwhelming.

We have been trying lots of new veggies and fruits, which Georgia is still loving. Thank goodness, I never realized feeding a baby could be so difficult!

Baby girl has been working on some teeth this last week, which has made for a lot of cranky days but I think we are past the worst of it and she has two cute little front teeth popping through. However, she won't let me take a picture of them, or touch them for that matter. They still must be sensitive, poor thing. We are slowly transitioning Georgia out of her baby bath tub to the regular bath, this child loves bath time!

We are all decked out with Christmas decor over here, going through the holidays with a baby is definitely different and wonderful.

I can't believe Georgia is already 7 months old, time is flying by even though sometimes the days feel so so long.

Lastly, because Eric and I don't already have enough on our plate with a baby, a dog and two bunnies we decided to try out a second dog thanks to my parents. Ha ha. Yes we are crazy. However, so far for a puppy he has been very good. Looks like we will probably be keeping him. Archie is thrilled about his new puppy brother.

Tomorrow is Eric's birthday! And we will be attempting our Christmas picture, stay tuned for that!

Sick

2014-11-08T19:47:00.001-08:00

With Eric's return from a week long business trip has come a week of everyone being sick. Eric and I had very light colds, Georgia however seems to have gotten it the worst. Poor sweet baby is full of snot.

Thankfully it seems like she's finally starting to improve. Needless to say there's been a lot sniffling, crying, whining and carrying around this week. In between getting sneezed and coughed on I managed to go through and pack away some of Georgia's newborn clothes. I already forgot how tiny she use to be! Georgia was a good helper and enjoyed playing with the hangers, probably not the safest toy.....but she was supervised :)

Hopefully this next week we will all be healthier and happier!

We can't wait to go to Grandma and Grandbob's house and see all the cousins for thanksgiving! Yippee!

Halloween

2014-11-03T07:44:00.001-08:00

Eric was away on business for Halloween, but Gigi and I had fun celebrating. Baby girl was a sweet lady bug, I was a butterfly and Archie was a bumblebee. We trick or treated at our neighbors house and then went to a baby Halloween party with our friends. There seems to be a baby epidemic in San Luis Obispo....everyone is getting pregnant here! We experienced our first rain here in a year and unfortunately we had to walk home in it from the party. I'm hoping for a wet winter!

Happy Halloween!

High chair

2014-10-24T19:32:00.001-07:00

In the last two weeks I started Georgia on rice cereal, so far it's quite a hit! She's been eyeing and grabbing for my food for awhile now so after she turned five months I decided it was time. I quickly discovered that trying to hold and spoon feed a squirmy baby is an impossible task so we got her a high chair, she's very excited about it.

We watched our friends dogs this week, it was definitely a circus at our house with three rambunctious pups and a cranky baby.

Lastly, sweet Georgia is getting dedicated at church this Sunday, yippee!

5 Months Old

2014-10-17T20:54:00.000-07:00

Sweet baby Georgia is five months already! We love her more each day. This little girl already has some spunk, she has strong opinions about what she likes and dislikes, and makes sure we know it! Here's a quick look at my cutie.
