KsE Frontman Quits

Killswitch Engage's frontman Howard Jones has called it quits. After having a couple of rough years, the singer who has gotten a soft-core porn-star pregnant and has recently been diagnosed with Diabetes is leaving the metal-core act. The singer has been part of the outfit since 2002 and has since had a certified gold record (The End of Heartache) and been nominated for a Grammy (The End of Heartache). Howard Jones (who was also the frontman for early 2000s metalcore act Blood Has Been Shed) has issued the following statement:

"Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I've had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me.

"Recently we've all been in writing mode but somehow I couldn't get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight I now realize that my heart wasn't in it. I have had an amazing decade with KSE. I love Justin, Mike D, Joel and Adam for hanging in there and standing by me no matter how bad it was. I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep. Will I be involved in music again? Sure, I have been in bands for a little over half my life, can't stop now. Until then, get the new KsE album, it's going to be good. Thanks everyone for letting me try to entertain you, and I wish myself well in my future endeavors. Gone fishin' Howard."

One could only hope that this could bring back the original front man of the band Jesse Leach (a key component of KsE I feel has been missing since his departure). Stay tuned for more news on this issue.

After three major film releases and god knows how many direct-to-dvd releases of the American Pie series, the gang is getting back together for a new release. This time with the original cast. It will be about eight years since the last theatric release (American Wedding). The official synopsis of the film is the following:

"It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim (Biggs) and Michelle (Hannigan) married while Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) and Vicky (Tara Reid) said goodbye. Oz (Chris Klein) and Heather (Mena Suvari) grew apart, but Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) still longs for Stifler’s mom (Jennifer Coolidge). Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about—and get inspired by—the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend."

I must admit there was a part of me that thought this film is going to majorly suck. Seeing how the American Wedding wasn't nearly up to par with the original two. However, after watching this red band trailer my opinion changed; this could be the best one yet! Check out the red band trailer below. The film is set to be released on April 6th 2012.

New Avengers Trailer

The trailer for next years "The Avengers" has been released. "The Avengers" stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgard.
The film will feature such characters as: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Nick Fury. You can check out the new trailer below. If this trailer is any indication of what we can expect when the film comes out, then this film is bound to be a great one. You know that this film is bound to have Marvel release more films with characters from within the film. Maybe they can actually make a Black Widow or Hawkeye film; meh... I think that's wishful thinking. Anyways, "The Avengers" will hit theaters on May 4th, 2012.

Mick Jagger And Martin Scorsese Team Up Again

Coming off of the success of Boardwalk Empire, Marty Scorsese has plans to bring another show to light on HBO. This time he will be working with Mick Jagger. They both worked together on 2008 Rolling Stones documentary "Shine A Light".
The new project (which would have them both on as producing and more than likely Scorsese in the Director's chair for at least the pilot episode) " chronicles the late-1970s music world through the eyes of a drug-addled record executive, as rock, disco and the burgeoning hip-hop scene began to change the landscape of the industry – seemingly ready to embrace the encroaching ‘80s"
You can also add Terence Winter to the Producers list as he has also been announced as another producer for the show. Terence Winter and Marty Scorsese both produce Boardwalk Empire which you can see every Sunday night on HBO at 9pm.

Metallica/Lou Reed Update w/ Song Preview

Metallica has posted a 90 second clip of a new song of their record with Lou Reed. The song entitled "The View" is from their new record Lulu.
The songs from Lulu are inspired by inspired by German expressionist Frank Wedekind’s early 20th century plays “Earth Spirit” and “Pandora’s Box”. The songs are also inspired by a rewrite of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic “The Raven".
This song clip makes me think of The Doors song The End. The vocals are telling a story while the music is smashing you in the face. I can't really say its amazing or that it is bad because I definetly need to hear more.
I hope they put up a couple more previews of the record before it is released. Lulu will be released on November 1st via Warner Brother Records in North America and one day earlier in the rest of the world. Check out the tracklisting, cover art, and preview after the jump.

A crowd of 45,470 people were on their feet tonight at Citizen's Bank Park to witness a spectacular point in Phillies history. For the sold out crowd (211th straight sold out crowd to be exact) in Philadelphia it was a barehanded grab and throw to Ryan Howard that had Rafael Furcal goin' back to the dugout to end the game.
This makes the fifth (yes.. FIFTH!) consecutive year that the Philadelphia Phillies have won the NL East Pennant.
The 9-2 win will be celebrated for days to come. This was the fastest time the Phillies have won a pennant. It only took 150 games (with the old record being 156 games set by the 1976 Phillies team). Now that they have won the pennant and are in the playoffs, what's next before we hit October?

I hope the Phillies don't let up and try to break the record that the 1976 and 1977 Phildealphia Phillies set with a 101 win season. The one thing that makes me nervous is are they going to be to tired? The 1976 and 1977 teams both lost in the NLCS; only time will tell. But for now let's sit back and have a cold one for the boys! Sheen airs at 10pm Monday Night on Comedy Central.

Charlie Sheen may not be on next week's Two and a Half Men Season Premiere but he will be on television that night. On Comedy Central at 10pm next monday night (September 19th) to be exact. The Charlie Sheen Roast is bound to be a spectacle and something you shouldn't miss.

WINNING!

The Roastmaster for the evening will be that guy from Family Guy (Seth McFarlane), William Shatner, Mike Tyson, Jeff Ross, Steve-O, Patrice O'Neal, Jon Lovitz, and many others. All these people will be coming out o roast the most "WINNING" actor of our time... Charlie Sheen (well maybe not truly winning but hey he may be doing a tv show based on the film Anger Management".

8:02 pm Seth Macfarlane reading off a possible Sheen Obituary. Tyson roars “I LOVE CHARRLAAY!!”. All in attendance nervously laugh so as not to have a hole punched in them by Mike.

8:06 pm “Fix your teeth Mike, at least Foreman is making money off his shitty grill” – Seth starting in on the ex-champ. You can tell Tyson has the makings to be the Andy Dick/Courtney Love of the evening.

8:08 pm Movie Montage being shown of Sheen’s career (Platoon, Wallstreet, Hot Shots, Major League etc) set to “Eye of the Tiger”. Mr. Sheen himself is introduced on a throne shaped like a train engine with Slash playing a VERY average guitar solo behind him. Cameraman falls, I laugh aloud.

8:13 pm “A dick with cocaine on it is called a Sheenis” – Seth Macfarlane.

8:16 pm Mike Tyson’s demeanor leads you to believe he GENUINELY doesn’t like Macfarlane. “I ain’t tell you SHIT!” screamed when Seth makes a light barb Mike’s way. First Roaster Jon Lovitz is up!

8:20 pm Steve-O has the laugh of a 3 pack a day smoker who lives UNDER a coal mine. No clue how he’s still alive. Iron Mike again shouts out gibberish.

8:21 pm “How much blow can Charlie Sheen do?…enough to kill 2 and a half men!!” – Lovitz.

8:28 pm Commercial break, people scurry away from Tyson the minute they have the “all clear” from the stage manager. Odds are +300 that he takes a swing at an inanimate object, and tries to get Jon Lovitz pregnant. I smell a future roast.

8:31 pm Kate Walsh is up next. I just felt it move.

8:35 pm Tyson suggests a gangbang between Shatner, Ross, Walsh, and himself. No bullshit. Kate Walsh is tripping over jokes in a serious way. Good luck Comedy Central post production staff. Not “The Situation/Trump” bad…but close.

8:40 pm Kate Walsh pulling out of her spiral with some good barbs, Patrice O’Neal throws her a courtesy laugh after a “black people love grape drink” joke. She gets a great pop for doing a Mike Tyson lisp impression. You cannot fathom how incredibly fragrant she was on the red carpet. Fresh cut flowers fragrant. Kate wraps up to tepid applause.

8:45 pm JEFF ROSS IS UP!!

8:46 pm “I f*cking scared of that guy” Jeffrey Ross referring to Tyson.

8: 48 pm “Charlie’s nostrils are so snotty and full of coke, they should be called the Hilton Sisters. He got f*cked so hard by Ashton Kutcher, he should be called Demi’s Vagina. Charlie Sheen is to stand-up, is what Larry Flynt is to STANDING UP”. Ross is throwing HAYMAKERS on stage right now!!

8:52 pm I am seriously laughing so hard at Ross I can’t keep up. This is an awesome performance. Calls O’Neal a “Sickle-Sellout” for doing a roast after saying he would never do one. Patrice belly laughs. I feel bad for the poor person who has to follow Ross.

8:56 pm “If you’re willing to do that to your face, I can only imagine what you’d do to mine” – Ross explaining why he’s scared to make fun of Tyson…then proceeds to DESTROY Mike with about a half dozen jokes.

8:57 pm I can’t help but miss Lisa Lamponelli on this roast. I get the feeling she’d verbally chainsaw Mike Tyson in half with no reservations, no hesitations.

9:01 pm Someone in the back of the press lounge applies Axe Body Spray to themselves between roasters for NO good f*cking reason. The entire room turns and stares at him like he took his pants off, and draped his penis over the cheese tray. Un-f*cking-real. It smells like an Affliction commercial in here now. Super.

9:13 pm Tyson slowly reads off a joke that was written by someone he’ll most likely never meet, then launches into a heartfelt “Stewie is a faggot” tirade. The balance between the pre-written material, and his genuine stream of consciousness is hilarious. Seriously entertaining stuff.

9:15 pm Tyson is a candy-coated trainwreck. Essentially, imagine what Comedy Central WISHED The Situation would have done during the Trump roast but couldn’t, and you’ve got it here. Creepy, effective, horrifying, and captivating. I never wish to meet this man.

9:19 pm Tyson exits to major applause. Best person they could have selected to follow Ross due to the sheer absurdity. Can’t wait to see how they whittle that down for TV. Mike is yelling at someone in the audience, and has to be shown his seat.

9:52 pm Commercial break, Steve-O grabs the podium mic to say something, producers cut his sound. I high five the guy next to me, we share a warm chocolate chip cookie. The smell of “Axe: MUSKY BASEMENT MATTRESS” has finally subsided.

9:56 pm My press lounge chocolate chip buddy (real name: Bobby) makes a great point…the night has become 45% Sheen roasting, 45% Tyson roasting, 10% everyone else. The more the night goes on, the less it becomes about Sheen. I assume that will be balanced out in post production. Interesting observation though. He’s also incredible at math and sharing baked goods.

9:58 pm Shatner is on deck!!

10o pm “Keep it going for Chaz Bono…” – Shatner to Seth Macfarlane. Crowd cheers.

10:07 pm William Shatner doing a laid back, advice laden set for Sheen. Not always laugh out loud, but its William Shatner, so it’s entertaining. Tyson…AGAIN…gurgles out gibberish that sounds like Paula Dean trying to beer-bong a gallon of melted butter. Shatner yells at Tyson to shut up and show some manners!! I loosen up my belt-buckle with joy.

10:08pm Shatner exits…he and Tyson share a long, slow, greasy embrace. Things are whispered. Secrets shared. Passion is in the air. Here comes PATRICE!!!

10:10 pm Patrice O’Neal on the podium…decides to toss out his jokes, calls Shatner “a racist dick, and an old asshole”, and you can tell he means it. He is loaded for BEAR. This is going to be awesome.

10:12 pm “In my world, Anthony Jeselnik is an open micer. I ain’t learning his shitty last name. I don’t know who the f*ck he is. Fuck him. You people laughed at him??” – Patrice. He is pure riffing, and it’s exactly what you’d want out of Patrice. Awesome.

10:15 pm Patrice is going for the throat on the panel. Schumer, Macfarlane, Jeselnik, ANYONE who talked about him tonight. Hasn’t even LOOKED at Sheen yet. He genuinely compliments Tyson, and the ex-champ responds with “F*CK. YOU”. This is getting weird.

10:19 pm Patrice O’Neal is giving SERIOUS critiques of Steve-O and Tyson’s sets now. Calling them weak, boring, etc. This is riveting to watch. I’m a huge Patrice O’Neal fan, and this is straight-from-the-heart pissed Patrice at certain points. Camera pans over, Jeff Ross is laying Tyson’s lap. I feel like I ate mushrooms and drank an entire box of white wine.

10:21 pm If you ask the crowd, Ross had the set of the night thus far…if you ask ME, O’Neal is talking from the heart, and killing it. His unwillingness to just dance to the music, and play along is what makes him so great. Can’t wait to see what Comedy Central does with that material. Bravo Patrice.

10:22 pm Up next…Sheen with the final word.

10:30 pm Charlie Sheen comes up to the “Wild Thing” theme. My drunken uncle who thinks the WWE is real, and rebuilds weed-whackers for charity got misty eyed with reflection, I’m positive.

10:34 pm “Scrotum Tuck & Taint augmentation” – Sheen referencing Macfarlane’s plastic surgery. He then asks Seth “What’s Comic-Con pussy like? Fat chicks in Spock ears with Funyon breath?”…I spit out my Fresca laughing.

10:37 pm Charlie Sheen to Anthony Jeselnik, “I like the way you were savoring the moment up here, because years from now when you’re locking up at Radio Shack, you’ll be saying…I….wish…I…was…funnier…”. Patrice HOWLS with laughter.

10:43 pm – Sheen is calmly bouncing from roaster to roaster, giving them the what-for. He looks like he’s having fun, and joking conversationally. Nothing ground breaking, but all seem to be smiling having fun. He’s giving a play by play of his career dominance in both TV and film. Takes a “F*ck off boss” shot at Chuck Lorre. Says he done with the “WINNING” talk…because he’s already WON.

Beetlejuice Trying To Pull A Fast One

Could Michael Keaton be putting on the suit again? Batman you ask? We hope not. We are talking about Beetlejuice. There have been rumors going on for years about a remake of the original Beetlejuice. Will it have the original cast?
Well, apparently there are a lot of rumors to sort through. Geena Davis and Michael Keaton have expressed interest in being a new film. As well as Deadline just reporting that Warner Brothers is in the process of moving the film forward.

Beetlejuice 2 is supposedly not going to be a remake. The film will take place right after the ending of the original. I would take this story with a HUGE grain of salt because I don't think they should even bother making the film unless Michael Keaton is one hundred percent committed to the film. Here's to hoping that there will be a sequel staring the "ghost with the most babe". Check out this hillarious clip from the original film featuring Beetlejuices introduction below:

There have been rumors of a Three Stooges movie for the past decade. The Farrelly Brothers (Dumb and Dumber, Me Myself and Irene) have been attached to this film for quite some time. Even names such as Jim Carrey (Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura) were rumored to be starring in the film as one of the iconic characters.

Now it is final. Sean Hayes (Will and Grace), Chris Diamantopoulos (Wedding Daze) and Will Sasso (Mad TV) will be playing the iconic charactere of Larry, Moe, and Curly. The Three Stooges will be based off of original Three Stooges shorts. The storyline will show the guys as newborns outside an orphanage and will show the trio into adulthood. It is also rumored that the Stooges will be getting caught up in a murder plot and even appearing on a reality show. The full film is being planned on being divided into three half-hour shorts. The release date was just announced as hitting theaters on April 4, 2012.

The Cast Of Entourage

On Sunday at 10:30 PM we say goodbye to the guys of Entourage as the Series Finale will be airing. Check out the trailer for the last show of this great series. After eight seasons, we will finally see where the end of the road is for Vince and the boys. Hopefully, the writers of this show don't take after the series finale of shows such as Seinfeld that failed to deliver on their last show.
It is being rumored right now that a movie spin off is being talked about being made. So maybe this won't be the end of the road for the guys. We will have to wait and see! Entourage airs Sunday Nights at 10:30 PM only on HBO.

Metal group Times of Grace featuring Adam D from Killswitch Engage and Jesse Leach from Killswitch Engage, The Empire Shall Fall, and Seemless have released a new video from their 2011 released "The Hymn of a Broken Man". The video for Live In Love can be seen below.
If you are a fan of Killswitch Engage's record "Alive Or Just Breathing" then I highly recommend picking up this record. In my opinion, I think it is one of the best records of the past year and may even be one of the best metal records to come for the next couple years. You can pick up "The Hymn of a Broken Man" at your local record shop.

1980's Classic "Wargames" Getting A Remake

Anyone who was a kid in the 80s will remember the classic film Wargames. Well, as it turns out, Wargames is getting a makeover. The website deadline.com is reporting that the 1983 John Badham (Saturday Night Fever, Wargames, Short Circuit) classic is getting the reboot. As you may recall, the original starring Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Glory, The Cable Guy) told the story of a young computer genius who hacked into a government system and (thinking that it's a game) accidentally initializes a computerized countdown to a nuclear weapons launch which could in turn cause World War III.
As of right now, Seth Gordon is attatched to direct. You may recall Seth Gordon as he is no stranger to films about video games. Gordon directed the documentary King of Kong. More recently, he helmed the film Horriable Bosses. Let's hope that the remake isn't as bad as the 2006 direct-to-dvd sequal Wargames: The Dead Code.

It isn't very often that you hear a band on the radio these days that will "WOW" you. Most of the garbage on the radio today doesn't deserve all the airplay they receive. Most radio stations play the same songs hour after hour after hour. Bands today forget how to rock and they wind up sticking to the same formula that has been used for the past ten or so years. Even when you go to bars to see local bands, not much stands out. The band you see on one Friday may sound exactly the same as the band you saw the previous week. A local band from Philadelphia has changed that way of thinking; that band is hard rockers Sinners Saints.

Sinners Saints bring back the classic rocking riffs of Crue and mix in blistering solos that would make Slash proud. No matter what song of theirs you listen to you will be sure the chorus will get stuck in your head (I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been sitting at my desk at work catching myself singing "GIMME ROCK... GIMME ROLL" (Whiskey Train)). Also, these five crazy dudes know how to party hard. In June of 2010, the boys destroyed hotel rooms in Atlantic City with rock legend Sebastian Bach and MTV's Jackass crew as part of an even created by Philadelphia's 94.1 WYSP. Sinners Saints have shared the stage with bands such as LA Guns, John Corabi, Molly Hatchet, Taproot, Blue Oyster Cult, and even Skid Row.

If you ever have a chance to go see them live don't miss out on the presence they have on stage. Donny's commanding lead over the crowd is something to see. They don't stop moving on stage from the start to the finish of their set. Joe and Bones know how to get the cheers from the crowd when they lean up against one another rockin' harder than the bands they share the stage with that night.
Their new song (entitled Livin' It Up) is their newly released song that makes me wanting some more. Livin' It Up opens with Donny singing the chorus that will have you screaming TOO MUCH IS JUST A STATE OF MIND by the songs end. Once Donnie lets out the last note of the chorus, it's off to the races. The rest of the band (Bones, Joe, Dave, and Rob) come in harder than ever blasting you in the face with pure rock. The heavy guitar riffs and blistering solos from Bones and Joe will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up while Rob and Dave keep it all together on drums and bass. Dave's fills match up perfectly with the rhythm of Donny's vocals. Livin' It Up proves that Sinners Saints is a well-oiled machine that is ready to give an onslaught of heavy hitting Rock N' Roll to the masses.

If Livin' It Up is just a sliver of what we can expect from the band's next record, then you can damn well be sure that it will be just as good (if not better) than their first EP (2009's "Bad Habits"). When asked about when we can expect this song to be released, Joe (rhythm guitar) stated:
"Right now we're just releasing this one on its own. This fall we're going to be hitting the studio and completing an "EP" but we just wanted to get something out there fast since we haven't released anything since Dec of 2009."
For right now, this sample (check out the widget below) will have to hold us over. Hopefully, we will hear the new EP at some point in 2012. Check out their dates below and if they are playing in a town near you; go out and support them. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Buddies Harold and Kumar are coming back to theaters this christmas. They will be burning up the screens (literally) just in time to spread some holiday joy. The new installment in the series entitled "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" is set to be released on November 4th.
The new film picks up six years after the duo last were seen in Amsterdam. Of course we can expect Neil Patrick Harris to be back for the follow-up to 2008's "Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay". The film will be coming to theaters in 3D. The wonders of what they will do in 3D alone makes me wanna go see this film as soon as it comes out!
You can be sure that they will try to utilize and take full advantage of the film being in 3D. I'm almost thinking kind of how Jackass 3D utilized the technology. By showing how absurd the technology is more than trying to make a great film with amazing effects.

After several years of growing apart from one another, Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) have replaced one another with new friends. While preparing for the festivities of Christmas, a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar's front door step on Christmas Eve.
Harold tries to redirect it to Harold's house which winds up with the "high grade" contents and Harold's father-in-law's Christmas tree (that he is oh so proud of) going up in flames.
With the Harold's in-laws out of the house for the next day, he decides to try to cover his tracks rathar than risk coming clean to them. Harold decides to embarq on another journey with Kumar through NYC, as they try to find the perfect replacement tree.
