Back on the 26th July 2003 I came across KKE 736N a Bristol VRT/ECW parked next to a kiddies funfair at a shopping centre in Villebon sur Yvette in the southern suburbs of Paris. In Summer 2005 it turned up in a French TV programme about the French underworld. An ex-gangster was using the VRT as a caravan and living in it with his wife (presumedly Sandrine Becquaert & Emmanuel Caldier). I guess that he also owned it in 2003 when I took the photos. This odd looking coach (to British eyes) is a Heuliiez GX57 948TQ24 - basically a Heuliez bodied Volvo. At first the B10M model was used, but this appears to be on a B10B chassis. This rare Renault/Saviem E7 with Padane 2 body dumped at the back of Duverneuil's depot on the 19/05/02, was still there when I visited in August 2008. But originally in the same role with Midland Red following the take over of Harper Brothers by that concern. A diverse duo here. Metropolitan GJF 286N was one of the very few sold on for further service ending up with Grettons of Peterborough. Back in 1980 as a 10 year old I was using a 1950's Agiflash with obsolete 127 film. This Metropolitan, possibly from the GJF ---N batch is waiting time at Cort Cresent, Braunstone. SRB 424 a Daimler CD650, which was an export model, carries a Willowbrook body. It is now part of the BaMMOT collection, parked here at Wythall on the 26th September 2003. Both the bus and the scene are no longer around, 325YNU, a Daimler Fleetline/Northern Counties, featured here running for Blue Bus Services was later acquired with the business by Derby City Transport. It was destroyed in a depot fire on the 1st January 1976 along with many other vehicles. Derby bus station was demolished in 2006. The station was the first purpose built bus terminal in the UK being completed in 1933.

Ex Leicester City Transport 82HBC saw further service in Leicester with Astill & Jordan. This bus is a Leyland Titan PD3 with East Lancs body seen here at St Margarets Bus Station, Leicester.
