true reconciliation and a lasting heritage. The Walk His Trail Movie Message Series was inspired by the true story of five American missionaries speared to death in the Amazon jungle in 1956. EGM captured the fullness of this transformative story in their three films, Beyond the Gates of Splendor,End of the Spear and The Grandfathers. The spirit of these films and this program is best revealed in the words of Mincaye, one of the tribal killers: “We acted badly, badly, until they brought us God’s carvings. Now we walk His trail.”

“While the story may be more than a half century old, it continues to positively impact individuals, families and communities,” explains EGM’s president, Bill Oechsler. “Our hope is that the Walk His Trail Movie Message Series will align with ministerial programs, cut across cultures and generations and reach out beyond the church to those in the surrounding communities,” Oechsler continues. “It’s a way of helping their congregations experience this true and incredibly inspirational story in a new way and, perhaps, for the first time. But the real impact of this program will be realized in the teaching and preaching experiences at the local church level.”

Designed specifically for pastors as a teaching/preaching resource, the Walk His Trail program contains three parts that can stand alone or work as a complete “movie message” series. Creative and archival assets from the making of the feature film and two documentaries help illustrate and dramatize essential biblically based themes and messages. Steve Saint, son of one of the martyred missionaries, serves as a first-person storyteller throughout the series. Recalls Saint, “Over the years, many have sympathized with our loss, but they could never have imagined our gain.” Of course, pastors have the option of disabling Steve’s narrative to lead the message themselves.

The Walk His Trail Movie Message Series is a one-of-a-kind program with the ability to draw large, diverse audiences into the church, connecting on a heart-level around the messages of sacrifice, reconciliation and heritage. Beginning in late May 2012, 50,000 U.S. pastors will begin receiving the complete DVD program.

EthnoGraphic Media is an educational non-profit organization that explores the critical issues of our time. As a community of artists and filmmakers, EGM uses media to tell true stories of hope and compassion in the midst of suffering and strife. EGM believes that gaining a deeper understanding of the human condition inspires positive action. Q. How would non-Christians benefit from reading Globequake?

A. In addition to working and teaching in churches, I am also a leadership speaker and management consultant for businesses and other institutions. I present management and employee workshops based on the principles outlined in Globequake, but without “religious-speak.” That’s because these principles are applicable everywhere. They don’t belong to any one culture, but are ancient, enduring, and relevant to all.

Q. What is your greatest hope for the book?

A. My greatest hope is that readers would see that the Kingdom of God and its eternal principles are our true and only hope midst a world in upheaval. I would hope people would grasp that biblically revealed Kingdom principles are not “religious” truth reserved for theologians and preachers, but for everyone—church leaders, parents, school administrators and teachers, politicians, corporate executives, their managers and employees. Finally, my hope is that readers will take practical steps to implement the Kingdom principles described in Globequake, and find strength and stability while the world around them is in upheaval.

Q. Is Globequake a “gloom and doom” book like so many others on the current upheaval or do you give your reader reason for hope?

A. In the introduction to the book, I wrote it was my prayer that the reader would see that the end of the journey for a person anchored in Christ is the realization and consummation of hope— no matter how hard the shaking along the route.

The joy on people whose worldview is framed by Christ as they ride the roiling tsunamis spurred by the Globequake is not because they live in denial, or simply don’t know what’s going on. They do know, at a level the rest of the world doesn’t. And in that knowledge they have found the kind of hope that gives them strength, sanity and stability in a crumbling world. Hope is being sought by all of us and just as it has been present in all of turbulences that have occurred throughout our history, it can be found in this current Globequake.

Globequake: Living in the Unshakeable Kingdom While the World Falls Apart

Q. What inspired you to write Globequake?

A. The Houston Baptist University Center for Christianity in Business asked me to do a conference on the impact of global change in business. In the course of preparing for the conference, I realized that the dynamics and principles I was writing about impact, not only business, but all the spheres of human endeavor. From that realization, the idea for the book was born.

Q. You worked as a White House aide during the troubled Nixon administration, yet you say that the current upheavals in the world are even more troubling. Could you please elaborate?

A. The upheavals of the early 1970s brought on by scandal at the highest levels of our government did not result in long term redefinition. They were intense, especially to those at the epicenter of that “quake” but did not alter the civilizational landscape. The changes now are redefining our core worldviews, personal lives and institutions. Compared to what is happening now the Watergate turbulence was a minor tremor.

Q. Many believe the rapid changes in the world today mean we are on the threshold of Christ’s return. Does Globequake address that belief?

A. Globequake is not a book about the end of the world, but rather a book on living through times of upheaval with strength and stability. There are certainly apocalyptic implications. Rapid changes leads up to history’s climactic event —the Coming of Christ and His Kingdom. In Globequake, I discuss the nature of time, and where we might be historically. I also cite specific signs of approaching apocalypse that are taking shape in our era, before our very eyes.

Q. What makes Globequake different from other books currently being written on world change?

A. I have read and benefitted from many of these books. However, almost all of them are written on the “macro” level. That is, they focus on declining civilizations, disappearing societies, a “flattened” world, and sweeping cultural trends. Globequake covers the “macro” issues, but its primary focus is the “micro,” the gritty tasks of being people of integrity, raising strong families, educating children with truth rather than cultural propaganda, electing principled governments, and building companies that succeed and endure despite the constant changes in the marketplace.

Pear Butter

2 qt. pears
1 qt. sugar (white)Half and core pears.

Do not peel. Cook unpeeled pears and sugar together in saucepan for 20 minutes. Then put thru sieve. Put in jars and cold pack for 10 minutes.

Delicious spread on homemade bread!

Favorite Amish Recipes

Still have a craving for a midnight snack while you finish your latest Wiseman page turner?These recipes have been graciously given to me by my Amish friends. Enjoy!

Cabbage Casserole

Cut up 1 head of cabbage. Cook until amost tender. Drain and put into baking dish.Sprinkle salt and pepper over top. Add 3/4 cup of grated white American cheese and 1/2 can of cream of muschroom soup. Cover with buttered Ritz cracker crumbs and bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.

Also very good using asparagus!

Rhubard Pie

1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. diced rhubarb

Mix together and pour into pie shell. Sprinkle with topping and bake at 425 for 15 min. on bottom rack. Then turn oven down to 350 and put pie on middle rack for 10 min. Next, remove pie and cover edges with foil. Bake 20 more minutes at 350.
Rhubarb only has a refrigerator shelf life of 3 days, so be prepared to cook the pie within 3 days after you buy it.
I recently discovered that not all grocery stores carry rhubarb.

Shoofly Pie

Crumbs:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. lard or shortening

Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Reserve 1 ½ c. crumbs to mix with liquid mixture

Liquid:

1 c. molasses
½ c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 c. hot water

Combine molasses, brown sugar, eggs and soda water. Add reserved crumbs and mix well. Pour into 3 unbaked pie shells. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

Cheese Spread

3/4 c. milk
1 lb. white American cheese
½ c. water
½ tsp. soda

Heat milk and water, add soda. Do not boil. Slowly add cheese until it is melted.

“Delicious topped with peanut butter spread on homemade bread!”

Tomato Pie

For the crust:

2 c. Bisquik and ½ c. milk, or until right consistency to press into bottom of dish.
For the filling:

Slice tomatoes in the pie crust. Sprinkle with basil, parsley flakes, thyme leaves, oregano, onion powder, brown sugar, salt and pepper – just a little of each.
For the topping:

Mix together 1 c. mayonnaise and ¾ c. orange American cheese (grated).

Bake at 350°for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.

Baked Corn Casserole

2 c. creamed corn
2 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 Tbsp. white sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs (beaten)
Butter casserole dish.

Mix corn, flour, milk, sugar, pepper and salt together.

Then add eggs. Dot with butter. Bake at 350 for 1/2 hr. and then put buttered ritz cracker crumbs on top and bake 15 min. more.

Molasses Crinkle Cookies

3 cups vegetable oil
4 cups brown sugar
1 cup molasses
4 beaten eggs

Mix above together well, then add:

8 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. ground cloves

Mix together. Then mix the following in with your hands:

2 cups whole wheat flour

6 cups all-purpose flour

Roll into one-inch balls and roll in white sugar before baking. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Makes 10 dozen – plenty for sharing!!Note: The mashed potatoes in Lancaster County were great! The secret – adding cream cheese and drizzling browned butter on top.

HEAVENLY CHICKEN CASSEROLE

4 c. chopped chicken
1 1/2 c. diced celery
1 sm. onion, chopped
2 c. cooked rice
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. water
6 chopped hard boiled eggs
2 cans cream of chicken or celery soup
1 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Layer ingredients in large shallow casserole coated
with non-stick cooking spray. Top with 2 cups corn
flakes, tossed in 1/3 cup melted butter. Bake
uncovered at 375 degrees or 25-30 minutes.
May substitute Pepperidge Farm herb stuffing mix
for the corn flakes.

Are you ever a bit envious of our friends from other cultures who faithfully honor their children turning into young adults on their 13^th birthdays? As Christians, we may not hold Bar or Bat Mitzvahs or Quinceaneras, but we can certainly recapture the spirit of this unique age by commemorating this milestone with a Christ-centered celebration. While many American families are throwing slumber parties for their 13 year olds, one woman in California decided to throw a “Blessing Tea” for her daughter—and the trend is taking off among Christians.

Roxanne Packham, President of InspiredDesign Ministries, had the idea several years ago to put on a “Blessing Tea” for her then 13-year-old daughter. The concept is taken from the Jewish tradition of celebrating this momentous year of “becoming a woman” with a huge party, centered on the Jewish Scriptures. Roxanne invited several of the most influential Christian women in Hannah’s life (mentors) to join them for a tea to honor her daughter. While she used her love for table decorating to create a beautiful environment, the real beauty lay in the hearts of the women who came to “bless” Hannah. Each special mentor woman shared a note/letter to Hannah. The notes included encouraging words, favorite memories, prophetic insights, special scriptures, and wise teaching/advice for the teenage years. This day served to cement in Hannah’s mind who “had her back”, who loves her, who will be there for her in the future and a memory that she could take with her into her high school years which are so often filled with identity-searching and emotional struggles.

The concept of a Blessing Tea began to take off in homes of people who had heard of Roxanne’s experience. One woman Camille, a long time friend of Roxanne’s, loved the idea so much she has now done it with two of her teenage daughters. She added an additional layer of giving each of the mentors their own blessing and scripture as a way to honor the women who have helped to guide and shape her daughters spiritually. According to Roxanne, “Especially because I only have one daughter, I wanted to make the most of every moment of her life. I was inspired to use my gift for creating a beautiful table and practicing hospitality with my love for my daughter. My biggest desire was to create an environment where very dear Christian women could pour into my daughter blessings and encouragement to carry her through the next phase in her life. Often, a mother’s impact alone only goes so far!“

Roxanne’s book Inspired Design has a chapter about this Blessing Tea and serves as inspiration for other mothers looking to recapture the age old tradition of “coming of age” for young women. For most of my 23 years, my refusal to take part in the sparring wars that happened daily at the dinner table had made me an outcast in my own family. I survived many battles by escaping to my attic room, wondering if I would ever truly find peace. I sought the answers sometimes from music, sometimes from a deep dream, many times by praying. When my mother – my protector – lost her battle with cancer and was called home by God, I knew my continued existence in our Richmond Hill house was fragile.

On a cold November night, my father asked me to leave.

It wasn’t long before my more affordable shelter was a subway token and an overnight ride on the E-train in New York City. I continued to seek employment, sometimes landing a job interview, then waiting outside by a pay phone for hours for a job offer.

While riding the trains at night, I reflected on my motives, my goals, and most importantly, my faith.

Who was Jesus Christ to me?

I thought about what He meant to me as I would sit huddled at the end of the subway car, warming my feet. I avoided eye contact with the other passengers whenever possible, embarrassed by my dirty appearance and fighting off the nausea that accompanied the realization that this was now my bedroom.

And I asked the question again: Where are you, Jesus?

On some nights, I pulled a notebook and pen out of my green garbage bag of belongings and started to write. Was there something more to my relationship with Jesus than just my reciting of the Lord’s Prayer?

On New Year’s Eve that year, as I walked through the streets I had biked as a kid, I started to cry. It was frigid and the wind spit into my face. I didn’t want to spend another night on the dangerous subway. I walked to a familiar church in the neighborhood, waited until the last service of the evening ended, and hid in the back under a pew. I waited anxiously for everyone to leave, hoping no one would notice. I felt a sense of relief as the doors were locked.

I was alone. The wind creaked eerily in the old church. The slightest sound echoed loudly, causing my heart to skip a few beats. But was I really alone?

I walked to the front of the church. There was a makeshift manger with the baby Jesus lying in a wooden cradle. I knelt beside it and wrote and wrote. I looked at the innocent baby. His life lay ahead with so much promise, hope, and dreams. I spoke softly, telling the baby how sad I was. I even picked Him up and kissed His cheek. He was so beautiful, the dim light from above shining proudly on His face. I sat there for a couple of hours and reflected. I wondered why my life had become a complete mess without any hope. I wondered if there would ever be a day where I would lie down again in my own bed, under a warm and sturdy roof, surrounded by loving people.

Then I realized who Jesus is. He was there for me whenever I needed Him.

The spiritual conversation I had during this bleak period inspired me to send my characters back in time. In my latest novel, Everybody’s Daughter, the main character, Michael Stewart travels back to the time of Christ when He was preaching. I wanted the main character to witness the Sermon on the Mount. What would Jesus say? How would the main character react? What would he say to Jesus later when they met? How would Jesus address a man of the 21st century? Would it be any different than when He had spoken to people back in first-century Jerusalem? What would it feel like spiritually to look into Jesus’ eyes and say The Lord’s Prayer with Him?

In Everybody’s Daughter, the fictional Michael Stewart is given an incredible gift – a chance to say the Lord’s Prayer with Jesus, an opportunity to speak to Him, a few minutes to visit his deceased wife and ask for forgiveness, and a chance to truly understand why Jesus was walking this same earth with us many centuries ago.

I allow Michael Stewart to honestly express his anxieties, fears, and concerns to Jesus as he struggles with his own faith and the challenges of raising a teenager daughter in modern day America.

Everybody’s Daughter allowed me to heal and regain my faith in many ways. While the fictitious Michael Stewart was taking this trip, I was alongside him for the journey, expressing my thoughts and fears, speaking to Jesus as I had done on that cold winter night inside the old church by the makeshift manger.

Favorite Amish Recipes

These recipes have been graciously given to me by my Amish friends. Whip up something good to snack on while reading "Need You Now" by Beth Wiseman. Enjoy!

Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad

1 head broccoli (chopped)
1 head cauliflower (chopped)
2 cups grated cheese
6 or more pieces bacon (fried)

Mix above ingredients, then add dressing:

1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonaise
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vinegar
A “little bit” of bacon drippings

Barbecued Stringbeans

6 slices bacon, cooked, drained, and crumbled
1 1/2 qt. stringbeans
3/4 c. ketchup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 large onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. mustard

salt and pepper to taste

Fry onion in bacon drippings. Combine rest of ingredients, except beans, and bring to a boil. Add beans and put in casserole dish. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Garden Chow Chow

1 gallon cubed unpeeled zucchini (about 4.5 lbs.)
1 qt. sliced onions (one and a half large onions)
3 cups carrots (shredded)
2 head cauliflower (chopped)
4 red peppers (chopped)
¼ cup salt

Mix chopped vegetables in large container with salt and let stand 2-3 hours. Drain and put in sterilized jars.

Cook syrup.

Syrup:

1 1/2 qt. water
1/2 qt. vinegar
1/2 qt. sugar
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. celery seed
3/4 tsp. garlic powder

Heat until boiling. Fill jars with syrup, leaving ¼ inch. Then cold pack for 10 minutes. Makes 12 pints.Cold Pack: to put jars of food in water (up to the neck) and boil for a required amount of time. Lids need to be put on tightly before putting in water.

Raisin Puffs

1 ½ c. raisins
1 c. water

Boil raisins in the water until the water is gone, then add:

1 c. butter
1 tsp. soda

Heat the following together:

1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 ½ c. white sugar

Add to raisin mixture, then also add 3 1/3 c. flour and ½ tsp. salt.Roll in cinnamon and white sugar before baking. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.My Amish friend said these cookies are her husband’s favorite!

Zucchini Bread

2 c. sugar
1 c. Wesson oil
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. grated zucchini
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. cinnamon
3 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Mix all together. Grease 2 bread pans. Pour batter into pans and bake at 325° for 1 hour

Peanut Butter Spread

2 c. water
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. molasses

Mix and bring to a rolling boil for 2 minutes. Let cool. Then add 2 ½ lbs. peanut butter and
2 c. marshmallow crème. Mix well.This recipe is always prepared for the lunch meal served after Sunday church service, along with the cheese spread.

Meatloaf

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 c. tomato juice
3/4 c. quick oats
1 egg (beaten)
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Combine all ingredients and mix well. For into loaves and put in baking
dishes. Pour sauce over top:

1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. water
2 Tbsp. Liquid Smoke
1 c. ketchup

Bake for 1 1/4 hr. at 350. Let stand 5 min. before slicing.

Green Bean Casserole

Pour 1 qt. string beans (drained) into a casserole dish. Dot with cream cheese.
Mix 1 can cream of mushroom soup and 1 cup sour cream and pour on top of cheese and string beans. Top with buttered ritz cracker crumbs and bake at 350 for 35 minutes.

(A new twist on Green Bean Casserole. I recently made this. It is really good, but very rich.)

This Mother’s Day, take a new look at your Mother - Daughter Relationship Cont.

There is not a perfect mother-daughter relationship. I have good relationships with my 70 year old mother and my 90 year old grandmother. I also have a pleasant relationship with my 18 year old daughter. However, none of these relationships are perfect and all of them have a different dynamic.

Starting a ministry that was inspired by my relationship with my daughter, insirped31.org, I have seen many mother-daughter relationships, which has confirmed that not one of them is perfect either. However, through my experience, I have learned three very important lessons about the mother/daughter relationship:

3. Focus on God’s truth. God is the author of both of your stories. He is the designer of your dreams. If both of you focus on His truths, you can have confidence in the creation of each other’s uniqueness and purpose in life and understand there is a divine plan for your relationship, which is a direct blessing from Him.

CBA’s International Christian Retail Show July 15-18

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (April 30, 2012) – “ More” is the theme for the 2012 CBA International Christian Retail Show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., July 15-18. In a culture that constantly demands more, we, as Christians, have more than we could ever need through the redemptive work of Christ and the Scriptures. But, as an industry, what more can we do to inspire our communities, our culture, and our world? This year’s ICRS highlights ways we can do more with less, have more ministry impact, and cultivate more compassion and love for our brothers and sisters through the store.

The event will emphasize Christian stores as ministry connectors in their local communities, said Curtis Riskey, CBA executive director. He said the annual summer event also gives Christian store retailers previews of new Bible, book, film, and gift-and-specialty product releases that will launch in the second half of the year and next spring. It’s also a time to learn about and solve challenging business issues; connect with leading Christian pastors, authors, musicians, and artists; and interact with fellow retailers, suppliers, and industry leaders.

“The harvest is white and we need more workers in the field,” Riskey said. “This theme will be evident in every aspect of ICRS.”

Christian Stores on Mission:Christine Caine, founder of anti-sex-trafficking ministry A21 (A21Campaign.org), is the keynote speaker at the General Session Sunday, July 15. She will talk about her global ministry to bring justice to victims of this horrible slavery and degradation of mostly women and children. She will set the stage for ICRS’s special emphasis on fair trade business that can extend Christian stores’ ministry outreach from their local communities to around the world.

The Fair Trade in Action special exhibition on the exhibit floor is a multimedia, experiential walk-through presentation that tells the story about missional outreach and shows how stores are and could be participating in it. Sales of products contribute to economic development in emerging economies – development that often helps people escape human trafficking, prostitution, drugs, and other ills common in impoverished nations. It also connects Christian stores as ministry partners to churches, ministries, and missions both locally and around the world.

Fair trade items are a relatively recent addition to Christian stores. This emphasis will encourage more retailers to get involved, offering insights from those who have done it or who provide special missional products.

ICRS Resonate Film FestivalICRS is a key launching pad for new Christian media with preview screenings and interviews with the people behind the productions, including directors, actors, producers, and others. CBA is working in cooperation with Propeller consulting of Nashville to launch the inaugural Resonate Film Festival to highlight new faith and family-friendly films and DVDs that bring positive life messages to a struggling culture. DVDs and related resources are a growing part of Christian stores’ outreach and sales. ICRS makes it easier for retailers to see new works and be prepared to answer customers’ questions or tell a richer story about these projects to increase understanding and sales back at the store.

The festival will compile comprehensive information on all ICRS Christian film events and known film releases for easy planning.

Children’s Trends

In a time when some parents delay naming newborns until they check domain name availability -- the first step toward Internet identity -- the family is being reshaped and redefined. Mary Manz Simon, Ph.D. and early childhood education expert, will explore implications of screen-hopping digital natives at the beginning of the digital age in a special session featuring research findings, product-trends examples, and free samples to retailers.

New Consumer ResearchCBA will present findings from new Christian consumer research developed in cooperation with The Barna Group. The research focuses on how consumers view Christian stores and what they are expecting from stores in the future. David Kinnaman of The Barna Group will provide a video report, and a panel will discuss research implications, especially relating to stores as ministry connectors in local communities.

Thomas Nelson also has graciously agreed to share some of its commissioned research on Christian fiction readers. A new event, Christian Fiction: Authors, Retailers, Readers, not only will present the research but also provide free product and opportunities to engage with authors. Suzanne Kuhn of SuzyQ event management will facilitate the event 1-2:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, with research presented by Thomas Nelson’s Eric Mullett, fiction marketing director. The research will reveal surprises regarding reading habits, especially among young readers.

New International General SessionCBA in cooperation with ChristianTrade Association International will present the inaugural International General Session: International Business Vision focusing on international business issues. Keynote speaker Wes Stafford, Compassion Intl. president, will speak on the value of international relations and economic development. A panel will discuss findings from an international business survey conducted by CBA and ChristianTrade. Panelists include Chris Johnsen of Christian Art Distributors, Paul Bootes of Koorong Books, Modupe Ehirim of CBA Nigeria, Melvin Rivera of United Bible Societies and Thomas Tang of Christian Communications Ltd.

Retailer RX: Ask the ExpertsA new session offers an informal time for retailers to meet with experts or retail veterans to discuss specific business concerns or issues. On Tuesday, July 16, a panel will highlight key retail trends, and then participate in an informal dialog time for questions and answers.

Church Store Summit

Working to better understand the relationship between church bookstores and church administrators to help improve operations and ministry impact, CBA is hosting a Church Store Summit 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 17. A panel will help understand implications of two surveys being prepared to address lingering issues that have been challenging church bookstore managers. One survey aims to identify key issues from a church administrator’s perspective and the other to identify how church congregants view church bookstores.

Author Engagement and DemonstrationsChristian authors are working hard to partner with Christian stores to increase book and e-book sales because they have common mission with retailers.

American Christian Fiction Writers will host a special area near Town Center to talk with retailers and present information on the power of fiction as a ministry and outreach tool. Readers often send authors testimonies of how a novel transformed their lives and impacted their faith. Retailers will get a glimpse of those responses as part of ACFW's booth presence. ACFW authors also are offering scheduled discussions there about recommending, promoting, and selling fiction to amp up sales.

The Christian Authors Network will demonstrate live, online store events in Town Center, July 16 and 17. Using Skype, authors will show how retailers can bring in guest speakers via the Internet to engage and interact with customers in the store. Each day’s presentation ends with a drawing for a selection of CAN-member books.

AwardsThe Christy Awards and The Golden Scroll Awards will be announced at special events during ICRS, and the American Christian Fiction Writers will announce nominations for the Carol Awards in a special press conference.

Special AppearancesIn addition, Michael Card (InterVarsity Press) will lead worship at the July 15 Sunday evening Worship Him service that is open to the public. Voddie Baucham (Crossway) will deliver the message.
