  1. Purpose of the role

  and#x2022; Develop and execute account management plans for each customer which secure existing business and generate growth for the Gas Sensors andamp; Devices business and the customer

  and#x2022; Liaise with the customersand#x2019; product management functions to support and develop the Gas Sensors andamp; Devices business and the customersand#x2019; product range

  and#x2022; Liaise with the customersand#x2019; sales and marketing functions to identify future product needs and current market needs

  and#x2022; Develop new product proposals based upon the Voice of the Customer

  and#x2022; Develop commercial agreements and handle annual contract negotiations with the customer

  and#x2022; Co-ordinate activity between the relevant departments of the customer and the Gas Sensors andamp; Devices business

  and#x2022; Develop and maintain a market awareness of key customer markets

  The Sensors andamp; Wireless Lab (SWL) is one of the three global Labs that support the seven ACS businesses. The lab is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager with experience working with US government agencies. Prior experience in advanced technology development is a must. Experience in product development is a big plus.

  Primary responsibilities include the development and management of US government Randamp;D contracts for SWL. External responsibilities will include building customer relationships and maintaining regular communications in order to position SWL for key follow-on programs. Responsibilities will also include understanding Randamp;D program objectives and plans, managing the external contract funnel and related processes, managing the preparation of technical and cost proposals, and providing management oversight for Randamp;D programs for US government customers. As part of the internal development of contract pursuits, you will work with section managers and key technical leads to develop new and innovative concepts that can help to drive the release of BAAand#x2019;s/ solicitations from government sponsors. Responsibilities also include ensuring that the programs are consistent with the strategic technology and business growth roadmaps of the Automation and Control Systems business, and providing leadership for the development of business plans to transition technologies into new products.
