It is a very important tool for your organization, serving as a reference for all individuals working with the service or product. Keep in mind that the content should be very dynamic. Updating the document when significant changes are made is key, incorporating important learning along the product or service development.

Here is a basic and effective template:

I. Overview

1.Situation

1.1 Trends/Key Changes in the macro environment: economic and social facts that affect your industry and audience.

1.2 Customer profile.

2.Strengths and Weaknesses of your company and top competitors.

3.External Threats and Opportunities for your company during the designated period of time.

II. Targets: revenue and volume for the time frame. Break it down by shorter periods, if your business involves seasonal variances, and by sales channel, online, offline, etc. That will allow you to track results closely. In addition to numeric targets, try to establish parameters to measure the effectiveness of your programs. Determine what to evaluate, and establish standards of performance. That will allow you to take periodic corrective action.

III. Key Objectives: list here the broad actions that will lead your company to reach your numeric targets. List a minimum of three but no more than six or seven key objectives for the period. Be aggressive but realistic. As an example of a Key Objective, “Increase your online sales within the channel mix.”

IV. Strategies: now it is time to start planning how you will apply resources to implement and achieve those Objectives. As an example of a Strategy related to the Key Objective above, “Increase unique visitors to your website.”

V. Tactics: list the programs that will turn your strategies action oriented. As an example for the Strategy above, “Optimize the use of keyword search on top search engines.”

IV. Attachments: Add to this section your communications schedule, funds allocation chart, and any other charts that will help your team visualize and compare results.

When building your Marketing Plan, make sure you include your team members in the process, and pay close attention to what competitors are doing. Try to look at your brand, services, strategies and programs with the eyes of your audience.

by Renata Lerch

The Business Health Test

Which do you prefer - calling leads, including Matol leads or just buying customer's?

Are you a slave to your home based business, having to recruit people every month just to qualify for all the bonuses? If so, you are not alone. Although many network marketing companies offer good value in terms of products and services, many of them, including Matol have qualifications in place every month that distributors must have in place to receive all the compensation benefits. It's just a reality in the mlm industry.

I don't know about you, but I used to do that and hated that part of the requirements each month. I'm reminded about that each time I call someone I personally know in one of those companies at the end of the month and they are scrambling to make sure everyone is qualified. I was talking to someone the other day and she was telling me she had about 8 hours worth of calls to do because it was the end of the month. I was totally stunned, but glad I never have to do that.

By the way, I am not picking on Matol because they are a very good company with excellent health and wellness products. Matol has been a leader in the network marketing industry for 23 plus years. They have excellent customer support and management. Check them out at their Matol.com website for more information.

Speaking of Matol, how do you build your Matol home business? Do you make a list, talk to your friends and family, or worse buy and call your Matol leads? Wait a second, has anyone ever suggested there's a better way than calling your Matol leads?

If so, please read on to discover the new paradigm shift in developing a home based business and a residual income by buying an asset, as opposed to having a liability. Yes, you heard me correctly. The vast majority of mlm companies are set up so that you are actually buying a liability.

When you first get started in your new home based business, you have to buy some product, which I have no problem with. However, you have to pretty much do everything, including paying for advertising, recruiting customers/distributors, following up with each one of them, training them, and ensuring they are qualified so you can get all the bonuses etc.

There's a better way to do things and It's Good Business.

The New Business Model

Why not buy customer's instead of Matol leads? Yes, it's a reality today. Let the company do all follow up with the customer's. You see, when your organization consists mostly of customers, you have an actual asset. The new business model is called It's Good Business. Most people have not heard about it, but soon they will.
writtem by Darrell Lischka

Communicating Change to Internal Audiences

Developing a succinct message for any form of communication is one of the most important factors of success. But even a well-crafted message wont work if youre aiming it at the wrong people. Regardless of your role and the kind of nonprofit organization youre with, you need to be able to plan and deliver a clear, convincing and powerful message in all of your interactions.
This is especially important when communicating new initiatives to your staff, board and volunteers. They are your biggest ambassadors and agents for positive change. If you fail to get them on board, youve created an obstacle that will hinder your ability to achieve success. There is even greater risk when the very people who are on the front lines of your organization are misinformed or disengaged, which according to recent Gallup reports, represents an estimated 54 per cent of employees.
While the relationship between employee communications and individual career motivation is complex, we do know that the top two reasons for disengagement are poor relationships with and lack of clear communication and direction from managers. So investing more time in improving your interaction is well worth the effort.
Here are the most common traps organizations fall into when communicating change or significant news:
Too busy the reality is most effort is typically focused on the external announcement or event and spending much time on the internal announcement can become an afterthought.
Using the same message for all audiences whatever the message is, it needs to be meaningful and inspire a specific reaction. Staff will have different interests than media would, for example.
Leaving more questions than answers failing to anticipate questions and to prepare responses is a common pitfall.
Giving the wrong message what could be great news to one group can be cause for concern for another.
Failing to segment your internal audiences staff is not a single entity.
Not giving enough time for your internal audiences to digest the information expecting the audience to get up to speed too fast.

The simplest way to avoid sending the wrong message is to spend time in the early stages to consider your audiences and what will appeal or be meaningful to them, and to ensure good delivery and follow through.

Step 1: Fail to plan, plan to fail.
Planning is a journey, not a destination. The simple act of planning will bring forward issues and ideas you hadnt thought of. Here are some tips:
Start with your objective in mind although obvious, its easy to forget. The first step to any strategic communication is defining your objective. Each message you deliver should have a specific audience and purpose.
Make a list of all of your audiences. Divide your internal audiences up as much as appropriate to the project. This can be done by function, by role, by department or whatever works for your situation.
Identify the role each group plays in your initiative will they be go-to people for inquiries once the project starts? Are they a link in the chain? Do they just need to know, but wont be directly involved? Are they responsible for training other staff and volunteers? This helps identify what information each group will need. This might mean carefully ordering when you plan to give information to each group, for example, brief department leaders or go-to people first.
Identify the issues or concerns for each group anticipate any positive or negative reactions, and make sure you have answers for each. Remember the first question is always, how will this affect me?
Identify the action youd like to inspire in each group each audience needs to know their responsibility in the process and what you are asking them to do.

Step 2: Develop winning messages.
Consider each audience and develop a statement that addresses your intended action/response and the audiences issues or concerns.

Step 3: Watch your tone and body language.

An average of 90 per cent of verbal communications is transacted by your tone and body language, rather than words. This means how you say it is more important than what you say. This can be disheartening, but remember that your goal is to inspire. Be aware of the hidden messages you may be sending; get out from behind the table, uncross your arms, and make eye contact, for starters.
Step 4: Follow through.
When rolling out an internal message, there are other important things you should do.
Follow up with a written summary if youre presenting information at a meeting, commit to sending out a summary to all before the days end (tip: write this in advance; it will give you extra practice at staying focused on the message). This will cover anyone who couldnt attend, as well as fill in the blanks for people as they process the information.
Make information accessible ensure you have multiple methods of making information available to the organization. Distribute it, post it, store it centrally, and list contact people.
Provide more than one go-to person for questions and make sure they are available and equipped with the information needed.
Commit to future communications let people know how and when they can expect to get updates.
Remember to keep it simple, and repeat, repeat, repeat.

written by Sherri Garrity

Developing a succinct message for any form of communication is one of the most important factors of success. The politicians had it right with that famous saying that "all politics is local." It doesn't matter how they rank nationally; politicians need their hometown votes to stay in office. That logic makes sense for most businesses, too. Local clients and customers tend to be the most loyal, because they know you personally.

Since the inception of the Internet, every year there are more people on line searching for the product or the service they need. More than ever, their focus is local, right down to getting directions from Mapquest.com or using a Google map to find their way to the most conveniently located source.

To make your business stand out locally, include your business name, location, zip code and hours in all Internet directories. Key search words are important, but so is letting consumers in your immediate vicinity know that you are right next door.

To make it personal, get personal by inviting individuals and organizations to meet with you. Go to individuals and organizations within a 25-mile radius to meet with them. It works.

6 Smart Ways to Think Local and Grow Your Business Fast

1. Get your business listed free. There are several Internet search engines that provide opportunities to set up free listing accounts. There may be a company 1,000 miles away or overseas that offers what you do, but listing yourself as the closest local provider makes you the convenient choice. Here are a few places to start in setting up free accounts: Google Local at www.google.com/local/add/login?hl=en_US, Yahoo Local at http://listings.local.yahoo.com and YellowPages.com at www.yellowpages.com/sp/contact/update.jsp.

2. Follow the 25-mile rule. Get out a local map and draw a circle around a 25-mile radius from your front door. Target local consumers and businesses within that 25-mile radius that are your potential customers. Visit a local Chamber of Commerce directory on line to hone your search. Get out there in your local area some afternoon and look for businesses that don't belong with the local Chamber of Commerce. Instead of spending huge sums on direct mail that might bring you only a very limited return, invest in a targeted direct mail campaign focusing on those 10 to 100 potential customers within the 25-mile radius.

3. Host an event. Using the names and addresses of potential customers inside your 25-mile radius, create an invitation list to an event that will allow potential customers to meet you personally. Offer a free gift or service as an incentive. If you are a solo entrepreneur with limited or no space (and limited funds), partner up with another business or even a nonprofit organization to co-host an event. Both you and your partner should give away a freebie so that there are plenty of incentives for your affair. To get some ideas, look in your local paper for local happenings. Circle those that are co-hosted by similar and also dissimilar organizations for ideas.

4. Follow up. Send personalized thank-you notes to those who attend your event, and include a flier describing your services. Include a special offer of a personal invitation or an opportunity to subscribe free to your newsletter that will get their attention. Your personal touch tells your future clients that you are willing to get personal to meet their needs. For a smart guide to how to write business thank-you letters,
go to www.ehow.com/how_1378_write-business-thank.html.

5. Get out there! Set aside one afternoon or morning each week to meet with potential clients (and partners for future events). Search your local newspaper or www.craigslist..org for local events, and show up in person to say hello. Offer to be a guest speaker, and choose a general-interest topic that will sell yourself first, and then your product or service.

6. Participate. Join a nonprofit group for a good cause, and bring plenty of business cards with you. Write a letter to the editor of a local newspaper, and include your business title and business name. Would you like to increase your profits? There are countless strategies for marketing your business successfully. Keep reading for some great tips and ideas that can be used by seasoned marketers or complete newbies!
One of the most important marketing strategies you can use for your business is article marketing. People differ on their views, but I find writing articles to be the most effective method of promoting my business. Write one article, submit it to several article sites, and soon you could easily have hundreds of links to your product or service! And it doesn't cost a dime - even better.

A great way to generate tons of traffic is by using viral marketing. This is another one of my favorite marketing strategies. You can accomplish this by creating special reports and ebooks and inserting your links to other related and complimentary products. Give your report or ebook away and you can easily have thousands of people, your FREE ebook in hand, filled with all of the links to your money making products. Allow people to give your free ebook away or sell it, and it spreads even more. This is viral! Another one of the great marketing strategies you should really put into place.

Posting in forums is a very good way to market your business as well. Visit topic related forums, read other members posts and respond when your answer will benefit other readers. Don't spam the forums by posting your ads and leaving. Other members are much more likely to click on your signature links if you show that you are helpful and knowledgeable. They will also gain trust in you, and come to see you as an expert in your field. Forums are another one of the great marketing strategies you should be using.

As I mentioned earlier, there are simply endless methods that can be used to market and promote your business successfully, and most are free! Be creative and you can come up with many of your own unique marketing strategies.

about the author

Find out how to market your business at no cost! Since anyone can publish on the internet, you have a mixed bag of good information followed with much more bad information.

The mysticism of internet marketing is created largely by this glut of some good and mostly bad information. It makes the whole topic SEEM like rocket science when, in fact, much of what was true about internet marketing years ago is true today.

Most people think that since search engine marketing changes every five minutes, that ALL internet marketing tactics must have changed as much in the same amount of time. Not true.

The basics, like trading links, article syndication, testimonials, forum signatures, joint ventures, affiliate programs - most work as well today as they did years ago. That is, if you know how to value the work above for what it will truly do for your website traffic.

Funny thing is, no one places much value on the above tactics anymore because there is always some "new" tactic around the corner that claims the death of everything that came before it. And most people blindly follow that advice as if it were true.

Most of the time, this is to the detriment of their internet marketing efforts. The basics are what work all the time and what have always worked on the internet.

You can always experiment with new things, as long as you have not forgotten to do the basics. The basics proven to drive traffic, page rank, link popularity, and branding to your business.

    Conservative, relevant reciprocal linking
Article syndication
Participation in your field and among your market (forums)

Blogging
Offline advertising
Non-reciprocal linking tactics
Press releases
...and many other proven methods.

Everything else is just a big experiment until proven to work over time. "Over time" being the operative words. Lots of flash in the pan crack pot schemes work for awhile. But most never stand the test of time.

Links from a widely syndicated article will never fade away, yet I see people chasing down fly-by-night linking pyramid schemes as if they truly believe something like that is a smart thing to base their internet business on!

Tens of thousands have walked away from their dreams, gone back to their depressing, predictable, slave-labor jobs never knowing how close they were to actually succeeding.

Good people have left this business proclaiming it an utter lie that any average person can make it with an internet business and an internet marketing plan.

I guess there is truth in that statement. Average people do in fact quit this business before they ever get started because average people fall for tricks and schemes that above average people avoid on their way to success.

If you have read this far, you are probably in the above average category. Why? Because average people would have taken one look at the list of things I mentioned that are the bread and butter of internet marketing and saw nothing but hard work. And they'd be right!

Above average people don't shy away from work though. I don't know a single soul (and my rolodex has some of the biggest names in internet marketing in it) who got where they are today without a lot of hard work.

You can succeed in internet marketing if you are not afraid to work, and not constantly tempted by those who say you can succeed without it!

Focus on the basics of internet marketing and stay with them as you try new strategies. We all experiment. But successful internet marketers never leave their bread and butter tactics behind unless they cease to be effective.

by Jivinder Sabherwal

Making Your Money Work For You

Do you ever get frustrated of living paycheck to paycheck? Do you want to get a nice little egg nest going for your future and your kids future? Do you ever ask yourself how you can become more financially secure? How you will be able to afford a family vacation?
We asked ourselves those very same questions, went through those same thoughts, getting more and more frustrated. Sure, we were making enough to pay our bills, and buy food and provide for our two little kids, but we barely had any money left over by the time those needs were taken care of for anything for ourselves, and we did not have much money set aside for any emergencies that may have arisen. We were so frustrated for months, not knowing what to do to get ahead in life. We got caught up in one of the "get rich quick" scams, and lost a little money, which left us even more frustrated. We came to the conclusion that we needed to make our money work for us, and that in turn, we would get more money and more financially secure as the time goes on.

How do we get our money working for us. We need to invest any spare amount that we have. There are many ways to invest your money now days, that you can invest anywhere from a couple hundred to several thousand. You can invest in real estate and get up to a 15-20% return, you can invest your money in the stock market and get up to 7 to 10% return on your income, or you can invest in an online business and can get up to 30 or 40% return, You will need to make sure that you research whatever avenue you decide very thoroughly so you know what to expect. You will end up get more money on your return and you can either keep turning that around and get more and more of a nest egg built up for your and your family's future, or just cash out, whatever you decide.

A couple years ago, we decided to invest in some real estate. We bought a repossessed house, spent three months fixing it up by painting it, changing the floor, redoing the roof, fixing up the landscaping, putting new cabinets and new appliances and new lighting. We sold it a few weeks after we had put it on the market and walked away with a $20,000 check when it was all said and done. Not to bad for three months of work!

Whether you decide on where to exactly invest your money, do plenty of research. If you invest in real estate, research the current housing market in your area, research the location of the property you are looking at, research different prices for all the things you will buy, and so forth. If you decide to invest in the stock market, do research on what stocks are doing the best, their points, and what kind of return you can expect to get and in what time period. If you decide to invest in a new business, online or not, research what type of business it is, the interest of that particular business and your competition.

There are many other types of investments, you can do. I can not stress enough how important it is to research. You cannot research too much. The more the better, and it will help you out more in the long run. Let's get your money working for you so you can stop living paycheck to paycheck!

by Ben L

Internet Marketing Plan - 6 Simple Steps To Internet Marketing Profits!

Internet marketing all boils down to finding a market, and giving to people what they want. There is a right and wrong way to do this. If you understand how it works, it will be much easier to make money.

In fact, people are going to thank you for selling them what they want. Pay careful attention to the following because it could be the beginning of the end of your day job.

1. Finding the demand

You need to find people with a common problem or frustration. There are thousands upon thousands of problems that people face on a daily basis.

Just give them the solution and show them how to relieve the pain they are experiencing.

2. Creating a product

Creating a product is becoming easier and easier. You can write a short report and turn it into a pdf or even record your screen with camtasia video and create your product in less than one hour. Audio is also a good option.

4. Build a website

Building a website is also pretty easy. If it's a challenge for you, you can outsource website creation for a few hundred bucks.

5. Create a sales page

This is what is going to make you money, so be sure to spend a lot of time on this.

6. You
2. Your market
3. Your people

What does this mean in plain English?

1. You

You need to take care of yourself because the business will never achieve its full potential if you don't.

Let me explain this to you. Many entrepreneurs work more than twelve hours a day and barely sleep because they want their business to become successful.

There's nothing wrong with that except that you will not be able to be effective every single day of the week for twelve hours.

2. Your Market

If you chose the right market in the first place, your marketing will be really easy. In fact, your products will sell without your intervention.

All that you will be doing is thinking about how you can make more money while your competition is struggling.

Remember, if you chose the right market, you already won half of the battle.

3. Your people

Like we saw in point number one, you can't be effective all day long and you shouldn't run your business alone.

Hire other people to do the work for you while you are 'recharging' your batteries. You need to learn how to let it go and outsource the work to others.

Don't think that outsourcing will cost you money. In fact, the opposite will happen and you will earn more as a result.

If you want to boost your website traffic and sales, download the amazing FREE clickbank case study ebook today at: http://www.mynetmarketingland.com/affiliateprograms/tools/

Franck Silvestre is an Affiliate Marketing Expert and earns thousands of dollars with the best affiliate marketing tools.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Franck_Silvestre

What is a paradigm shift?

Paradigm shift?
Ironically, the biggest challenge most people face when
implementing some of the very best in investment and business ideas is NOT in executing the actual steps (that's often the easy part), but rather in generating enough courage and faith to believe that some of the things theyre advised to do are actually possible.

I know that you have the desire to get to the next level financially. You wouldn't be reading this if you didn't. But desire and belief are two different things. To truly get to the next level in your business and finances, you must first make a leap of faith in your thinking. This lead of faith in thinking is called a paradigm shift.

A paradigm is a model or a pattern; its a way of seeing and
understanding things, of interpreting the world around us. It is your understanding of the world, and of the way things are done.

Your paradigm is formed over the years by all of your thoughts and past experiences: the way you were raised, your mind-set, what you were taught, everything you believe in, how you were trained, etc. That is your paradigm, and as such your paradigm is very important.

Extremely important.

Unbelievably important.

It determines what you believe is possible and impossible.

Most people never question their paradigm. They never change their perspective. Instead, they allow it to build artificial walls around them, let it define what is possible and impossible without their ever being aware of it. It is completely out of most peoples awareness. This limits their possibilities and opportunities.

In short, their paradigm tells them what to do.

If you are ambitious (as you and I know you are), and you let your paradigm imprison you in this manner, you inevitably hit the glass ceiling, or hit the wall, or hit a level of stress and frustration that I can tell you from first-hand experience is debilitating.

Maddening.

Paralyzing.

When this occurs, one of three things happen. You either:
1. give it all up and try something else
(i.e. you get sucked back in to your old paradigm)

OR you

2. keep charging and ramming your head against the wall, hoping and praying and even logically rationalizing that if you just work hard enough things are bound to get better
(i.e. you accept, and are conditioned to have your actions limited by your paradigm)

OR you

3. find a better way to do things to achieve better results
(i.e. you change your paradigm)

I have chosen the latter route - i.e. I change my paradigm.

I refuse to accept that life has to be so hard.

That there is any wall I cant bust through. Climb over. Tunnel under.

Luckily, you too are an entrepreneur.

As a real estate investor, you DO think outside the box. You DO ask the tough questions of yourself. You DO question why things work and dont work. You DO examine your paradigm.

You DO these things because once its in your awareness that your major limitation in life is the six inches between your ears

Sometimes you can get a little obsessed with changing what goes into and whats stored in that infinitely dense space you call your mind.

But still, our paradigm is there.

Thats why we go to one more seminar. Thats why we read one more book. Thats why we hear one more success story. Thats why we join one more networking group. Thats why we order one more audiotape set. Each one of these steps further enlarges our scope of what is possible, and every new idea is an excitement.

Oliver Wendell Holmes said that the mind, once expanded, cannot return to its original dimensions.

I want my paradigm to be one in which I am infinitely resourceful. Where I have all the tools and materials I need. Where I have all the support and allies I could want. Where I have motivation and encouragement surrounding me. Where every idea I have can become real.

What about you?

First, I want you to understand that there's very little special about
me. I'm not terribly different than you. I havent had any secret real
estate training. I have a high IQ but so little common sense that Im pretty normal.

Theres nothing too special about my market either. My market goes through cycles just like any other, and as such over time will be pretty average, with average prices, standard competition, usual problems.

The reason I say these things is because I know its easy to fall into the that person can but I cant disease. Don't wimp out. Don't give yourself the excuse that others have some kind of advantage that you don't. That's simply untrue.

False.

If you want to know the truth, most people who make it come from pretty humble beginnings. I certainly havent been an overnight success. Like most success-striving people, the things Ive done and am doing are a lot of work. Toil. Sweat. Sacrifice.

9 to 5 jobs might give you a lot of free time, but very few dollars with which to enjoy this free time.

Many who put gruelingly long hours and hard work when first getting into real estate completely reverse this equation. They then have money to spend, but no free time to enjoy it in.

I was stuck in the same situation that most people find themselves
in - the same rut. My old paradigm said that I had to trade my
time for money. In other words, if I wanted more money, I had to
trade more of my time to get it.

And that's exactly what I did - that was my strategy. I traded my
time - my life - for money, and quickly realized that the problem
with this strategy was that eventually you hit a glass ceiling.
There comes a point when you have no more time to give.
This, too, I refuse to let happen to me. Its why I chose NOT to become a real estate agent. I saw it as just one more way to trade my time for money. Uh hunh. Not having it.

In a word, I got obsessed. When I hit that glass ceiling or wall
or whatever you want to call it, I absolutely refused to admit
defeat. I refused to believe that there was no way to get to the
other side.

When I feel defeat, I look for ways to take action. I get myself around success-minded people. I call my family who loves me. I talk with my accountability partner. I talk to the people who look up to me.

I refused to let the feelings of defeat hold me.

Has it been easy? No.

Have I been able to do it alone? Heck no!

Is it an ongoing process? You better believe it!

Thats the thing about paradigms. They dont stand still. They change, so why allow your paradigm to BE changed when you can BE the one who changes it?

Think about it.
Danny Welsh is the editor of investing newsletter The Good Steward' with Investing Do's, Don'ts and Deals! It also doesn't matter how much of an industry expert you are. It doesn't even matter how great your mother thinks you are. The only thing that really matters to be successful in selling is your ability to shut-up and listen.

On numerous occasions, everyone in sales has heard how important it is to get the customer talking, so it's imperative that they have an arsenal of great questions to ask. Despite trying to follow this guideline, every salesperson seems to overstate the amount of time they believe they allow the customer to talk. The many interviews I've conducted over the years with customers and salespeople alike confirm this reality. Therefore, salespeople need to take a step back and consider their sales presentation.

To talk less means you have to ask questions that truly engage the customer. However, this doesn't mean you need to develop complex questions. Instead, the best tactic is to ask shorter ones. Long questions tend to result in short answers, while short questions will generally result in long answers. An example of a great short question is, "Why?" In my opinion, there isn't a better follow-up question you can ask after the customer has shared with you some information. Consider how your customers would respond to other short examples like, "Can you elaborate on that?" and "Could you explain more?" These shorter questions elicit detailed responses and that's just what you want. On the other hand, asking complex questions often tends to perplex customers. Because they are not sure what you are looking for, they respond with the universal answer representing total confusion, "What did you say?" Questions should not be your means of showing your customers that you are an expert. Save that for your statements.

When preparing your sales presentation, a guideline I subscribe to is to limit yourself from talking for more than 20 seconds at a time without asking a question. The question you ask should be one directed at the comments you just made. By doing so, you're checking with the customer to see if they understood what you just shared with them. Again, this is something many salespeople overlook. They get caught up in sharing with the customer their expertise and the features of their product or service and forget all about what the customer is thinking. Even if your product or service requires a complex presentation, you should still follow this rule. Whether you're selling software, high value medical equipment, or technical tools, it's essential to check your clients understanding by asking a question every 20 seconds.

Your goal on any sales call is to talk only 20% of the time. To help ensure that this takes place, you have to plan ahead. Before you start developing your sales presentation, create your list of questions. This is contrary to the pattern of most salespeople who often spend a substantial portion of their time developing their presentation and, at the last minute, develop their list of questions. Consider that if you're expecting to have a 20 minute presentation, you should have 40 questions (2 questions per minute). Even though you may not use all 40, you'll definitely be more prepared. In addition, you'll be able to pick and choose which ones you want to ask. If you're following the rule of asking short questions, you'll ensure that the customer is doing most of the talking. You'll learn valuable information that will help you better understand the customer's needs.

If you want to move your questioning process to the next level, make half of the questions you ask be ones that help the customer see and feel the pain they have. By doing so, they will be much more open to receiving your solution. For example, if you're selling computer back-up systems, you might ask, "Can you explain to me what happens when data is lost?" This short, concise question is designed to get the customer thinking about the risks they face. Furthermore, the beauty of this type of question is that no matter what the customer's response is, some good follow-up questions will naturally arise.

By adhering to these guidelines, you will be able to see dramatic results in the number of sales you are able to close. As simple as it sounds, the more you shut up, the more you'll sell. And, the easiest way to achieve this goal is by asking more, short questions. So, shut up and sell!

Mark Hunter, "The Sales Hunter", is a sales expert who speaks to thousands each year on how to increase their sales profitability. You can have the classiest looking website on the internet and the best product on the plant but if no one knows about it you're not likely to be making a profit anytime soon.

So what is the king of advertising? TRAFFIC... You need lots of eye balls looking at your site and I mean lots of them. Not everyone window shopping your site will buy, but the odds go up when you have tons of people walking by that a percentage of them are interested in what you're selling.

How to Generate Traffic

Know your target market

The first thing any savvy internet marketers need to understand is his/her market. Are you selling to a younger or older group of people? This is important when you choose your method of marketing. The younger crowd is fascinated with gadgets. The older crowd....not so much. They might prefer email over podcasting. The delivery method is important in attracting their attention.

Social media sites like MySpace and Facebook are a great place today to capture events or your x-boyfriends love life. There is serious marketing adverting going on in these arenas. So don't overlook these platforms.

Keyword Generation

Once you understand your target market you need to develop a set of keywords to use that will draw those customers to your site. Utilization of those unique keywords in your website, online ads, blog posts and article publishing is the magic that combines you and the right customer.

You can never have too many or too few keywords. The key here is balance. If you have too few you risk not reaching your target market. If you have too many you risk being considered a spammer by the search engine web crawlers. If you write like you talk you will naturally meet that balance.

The Ad

When placing the ad you should give some real thought to your audience and location. A flashing banner ad might be great on blog site but not well received on your MySpace or Facebook profile page.

When using text ads like classifieds, emails and AdWords, your headline and keyword usages is important. Your headline should be attention grabbing and should use one or more of your keywords or keyword phrases. The body should give them just enough information to entice them to want to know more by clicking on your link.

I have found it beneficial to give your customers multiply ways of contacting you. Providing your name, a website url, email address, and phone number gives them options and legitimacy to you and your product.

Know Your Budget

Your advertising budget is a part of your overall business plan. It does not matter if your budget is zero or $2,000 per month, you can advertise and get your name out there. This is important to drive traffic to your site and important to your business.

Ideally you will have some funds allotted to advertising. You will need some budget to move your business forward. You might want to use your advertising money on placing ads and banners while using your time to post to your blogs, write articles and build your relationships on the social networking sites.

The key here is to spend your money wisely. Do your research on the sites you want to place ads and direct them to the proper target group. This little bit of effort will pay huge dividends in the end.

Advertising is like a puzzle; it can be difficult or it can be easy. By following these few tips you have all the pieces to the puzzle. With the proper time and effort given to each aspect you now have the knowledge to create campaigns that drive traffic to your website.

Cindy Floyd
Colorado Creative Solutions
303-429-6333
Ask me how you can earn huge commission weekly and have fun doing it.
http://www.ThingsLookGreatIn2008.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Cindy_Floyd

Newbie Affiliate Marketers Must Maintain Focus If They Want To Be Successful

One of the biggest obstacles the Newbie Affiliate Marketer must overcome is not being focused. This may sound funny at first but as you read along you will begin to understand why it is absolutely critical that you remain focused on the task at hand or you will never succeed as an affiliate marketer.

Believe me when I say this will not be as easy as it sounds. I am not just saying this as I am talking from experience. When I first started out trying to make money online as an affiliate marketer I had a very difficult time staying focused. Sometimes I would sit down at my computer and just stare at the screen because I had so many things I wanted to accomplish but I didn't know where to start. This same thing is going to happen to you if you don't have a plan and stick to it.

The problem staying focused is a result of a lot of things. Depending where you are in your new business the distractions will be different. Let's just say you're pretty new at it and I'll walk you through what I think could be a typical day or night for you.

You sit down at your computer with good intentions of designing an opt-in page so you can get your list going. But before you get started you decide to read your emails from all the lists you have subscribed to. You go through the first few quickly deleting them but now there's one that has an interesting offer. You go to the sales page and it's one of those giveaway sites that are offering a ton of ebooks and software for free. You figure you're going to need something to give away on your opt-in page to entice people to give up their name and email address so you sign up for it.

Now you are trapped in the abyss of this giveaway site. You thought you were going to just go in and download a bunch of items and leave but this is not the case. You see an ebook that you really want that will help you on designing your opt-in page so you click on the download link and to your surprise you have to subscribe to a list in order to receive it. In fact you'll find out that you will have to do this for every item you want to download.

Next you find yourself going back to your email to confirm opting in. You click on the confirmation link and now staring you in the face is a one-time offer. It's a nice offer but you decide you don't want it so you click on No Thanks. If you're lucky you don't get sent to another offer for a little less money. Now you've just finished reading a very long salesletter and you still don't have your ebook. You must go back to open another email that has the download link to get your free item.

Well now you have your ebook that you wanted but the whole process to get it took 15 minutes. There were a few more ebooks you wanted so you go through the process again but you've smartened up and go through it quickly just to get them and get out. Now you head back to reading the rest of your emails and there's another great one telling you to go watch a video for free on how to start building your list. You can't pass this up so off you go.

Yep you guessed it, another opt-in form. You watch this excellent video but it was 20 minutes long and you finally realize you're not getting anything done. You head back to your email and your best friend just sent you this message telling you to go watch this really funny video on YouTube so you do. After watching it you reply to your friend telling them how funny it was. Now you've waisted another 10 minutes.

You see how easy it is to get off course from where you started. About an hour ago you sat down to design an opt-in page and you haven't even started it yet. Believe me there are going to be a few more detours before the night is over and if you only have two hours a night alloted to your affiliate marketing business you're not going to get far.

Before you start your next night of work you need to sit down and lay out a plan and stick to it. I can just hear all the experienced affiliate marketers out there laughing out loud because they have all been in your shoes, whether they want to admit it or not is another story.

Focus, Focus, Focus.

Make Money On Autopilot with this fantastic plug-and-play system.
by Jeff Sargent http://www.TheAutopilotIncomeSystem.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jeff_Sargent

How Do I Get My Business On The Internet?

by: Ivana Katz (http://www.articlecity.com/)

This is one of the most frequently asked questions by small business owners. They are feeling the pressure from their customers and competitors, yet for many business people it is a daunting task, as they don't understand the whole process.

In fact, many people are even asking the question whether they should have a website. Whether you are a consultant, florist, designer, builder, architect or a doctor, consider the many advantages a website provides:

1. Make money - Set up an on-line store or get paid for advertising from other companies

2. Save money on advertising - Instead of paying for large ads, simply advertise your website

3. Be flexible in your message - Change the content as your business changes. No need to re-print expensive brochures.

4. Exposure to new customers - You will reach more local clients as well as interstate and global markets

5. Having more professional image - Keep up with the times and your competitors

6. Save time - Don’t spend hours on the phone, direct customers to your website

7. Keep your business open 24/7 - Provide customers information when THEY need it. If you don’t, someone else will.

So what does it really take to get your website set up?

Step 1 - Register your domain name OR not.

The big question is whether you need to register a domain name or not. The simple answer is NO, but a better answer is YES it is a good idea.

What is a domain name?

The purpose of a domain name is similar to that of a street address or telephone number. The domain name directs customers to you on the Internet. The domain by itself is not your email or web address. The domain does form the base from which these addresses are derived.

For example: Company Name: QikPhone Domain Name: qikphone.com.au Web Address: www.qikphone.com.au Email Address: sales@qikphone.com

Do I need to register a domain name to have a website?

NO, you don't need to have your own domain name. Your website can be created and hosted without it. Your website address will look something like this: www.web4business.com.au/JBCleaning OR www.ozemail.com.au/~JBCleaning

The only advantage of not registering a domain name is that you will save yourself a few dollars.

The disadvantages of NOT having your domain name include:

1. If you decide to change your Webhosting company or if that company goes out of business, you will lose your website address. Your website can be transferred to a new company, but your address will change. And that means re-printing stationery and re-doing all your advertising, notifying all your customers etc.

2. Website addresses that contain information other than your company name are long and hard to remember and do not appear as professional. Compare these two and see which one you are more likely to remember: www.ozemail.com.au/~JBCleaning OR www.JBCleaning.com.au

So it is a good idea to register a domain name, even if it is just to protect yourself for the future. Say for example, your business name is JB Cleaning and you decide not to register your domain name for now. Along comes Joe Bloggs who opens his own cleaning business and registers JBCleaning.com.au domain name. After a year you decide you want to have your own domain name, but since Joe Bloggs already owns it, you won't be able to register it. Not to mention your customers who know your business as JB Cleaning may visit his website, thinking it's your web address and instead hire Joe Bloggs Cleaning.

Step 2 - Plan your website.

Planning your website is a two part process:

(a) Decide on the website design (colour schemes, buttons, special effects etc). This is your website designer's job. However, you may have a preference for a certain colour or look. To help you choose a design, you may wish to check out other people's websites or work with your web designer's pre-set templates.

(b) The content. There are many items you may wish to include on your website. The most common ones include:

1 Product/Service Details
2. Contact Information
3. Pricing
4. Testimonials
5. Frequently Asked Questions
6. Response Form, such as "Join Mailing List"
7. On-line Magazine or Newsletter
8. Resources & Articles
9. Guarantee
10. Survey
11. Events Calender
12. Useful Links
19. Media Information
20. On-line store
21. News
22. Directions to Your Bricks & Mortar Premises

Step 3 - Choose a Web Hosting Company.

What is a Web hosting Company?

A webhost is a company that provides server space for your website. You can think of a web host as a commercial building. The web host provides space for your website just as a commercial building provides space for your shop or office. You can build your own building and you can host your own website, but because of the cost and expertise required it is easier to rent the space.

Which Company Should I Choose?

Webhosting companies are not created equal so you need to take a number of things into account when selecting one. A proven track record, experience and reliability form the foundation of any successful business partnership.

Some of the issues you should consider when choosing a webhosting company include:

1. Support - Does it provide comprehensive Technical Support - 24 hours a day, seven days a week?

2. Reliability - Does it have multiple large-scale links to the internet to provide a fail-safe path to your customers from anywhere in the world?

3. Security - Does it have a robust security system that minimises risk of web site intrusion?

4. State-of-the-art - Does the company utilises leading edge technology and is supported by a large-scale uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system.

5. Scalability - Does the product range and services offered allow your business to grow without impediment by making it easy to upgrade and add components to existing product levels.

Step 4 - Getting people to your site.

The marketing of your website is important if you want to draw visitors to your site. If you don't promote your website no-one will ever see it. There are a number of different ways of advertising your website. The best strategy is one, which integrates your existing promotion methods with your website.

1. Office Stationery - Including your web address and email address on your stationery is probably the easiest way to draw attention to your site. It's cost effective and gets your Internet presence out there in the market place.

2. Business Cards - When printing business cards you should include the individual's email address and main address of your website.

3. Radio Advertising - Radio Advertising should include your web address. Don't include the http://, try "Visit us on the internet at w-w-w-dot-qikphone-dot-com-dot-au". If your budget is limited, you may wish to consider community radios.

4. Email and Mail-Outs - Let your current customers know the details of your website. You can either send them an email or a letter/postcard. Keep your website's content up-to-date and they will keep coming back!

5. Print Media - Print advertising should include a generic email address for the company and include your website address. Normally positioned at the bottom right or bottom centre of your advertisement.

6. Search Engines & Directories - People looking for your website who don't know the URL are most likely to use an on-line search engine to look for your organisation or the kind of products and services you offer. There are over 300 major search engines and directories, but you should concentrate on the larger, more commonly used ones. These include: Google, Yahoo, Altavista, Anzwers, Inktomi, Infoseek, Lycos, Excite, HotBot, MSN, Dogpile, AllTheWeb etc.

7. Links from other websites - A good way to attract visitors to your site is through the use of hyperlinks placed on other sites. If you know of another site which has a list of links and you think your website would be a good addition, let the website owner know. You might also offer to provide a link from your site back to the other site. This will encourage the webmaster to include your site. You should also seek out partners for trading links including vendors, suppliers and providers of complimentary products.

8. Link Exchange - Another way to getting a link is through a system called Link Exchange, a free public service designed to help websites advertise each other. With Link Exchange, you agree to display advertising banners for other Link Exchange members and they agree to display banners for you. The System is automatic, you simply add a piece of HTML code to your web page and Link Exchange will display an advertisement for another website. The disadvantage with Link Exchange is that you don't get any control as to where your banner ad appears or the type of banner ads that will appear on your website. It is not possible to guarantee that a competitor of yours may have their banner ad displayed on your site.

9. Paid Banner Advertising/Affiliate Marketing Programs - Various sites give you the opportunity to purchase banner advertising on their site. Some sites will charge you a flat monthly fee while other sites will charge you based on the number of people who see your ad.

For more information about marketing your website read "30 ways to promote your website on a shoestring budget"
http://www.websites4smallbusiness.com.au/ArticlesIK30waystopromote.htm

Step 5 - Monitor your site's statistics

Your website's statistics should show who visits your website, where in the world they come from, how they are finding your site and what pages are being viewed. Knowing your customers is the first step in effective marketing. Most webhosting companies will provide access to this information free of charge.

Step 6 - Maintaining your website

It is important to update your website regularly to keep your customers interested. One of the great advantages of having a website is that you can change its content virtually overnight at minimal cost (unlike re-printing brochures and flyers).

This is just a brief overview of the process involved in getting your website up and running. In future articles we will cover each step in more detail.

For more information about getting your business on the internet you may also wish to check out:

Frequently Asked Questions About Websites
http://www.websites4smallbusiness.com.au/ArticlesIKFAQsreWebsites.htm

10 Tips for Planning an Outstanding Website
http://www.websites4smallbusiness.com.au/ArticlesIK10TipsforPlanning.htm

8 Tips for Designing a Great Website
http://www.websites4smallbusiness.com.au/ArticlesIK8TipsforDesigning.htm

8 Strategies for Achieving SMART goals

8 Strategies for Achieving SMART goals

1. Setting goals is easy but achieving them isnt. Thats why setting SMART goals Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely is the first step in making your goal a reality.

Make your goal as Specific as possible and express it in positive terms. Do you want to stop losing money or do you want to start making money? How much money do you want to make?

How do you Measure success? Youll need a way to evaluate your progress and determine if youre moving towards your goal. For example, if you want to improve your finances, then you should have a way of keeping track of income and expenses.

Is your goal Achievable? Consider whether you have the resources necessary to achieve your goal. If not, you need to determine if you can assemble everything required to streamline your process. Remove any obstacles before you get started!

Realistic goals are achievable goals, unrealistic goals are just dreams. Its not necessary to be negative but take time to honestly evaluate whether youre being realistic. Losing 30 pounds in 2 weeks is not impossible but its not very likely and certainly not healthy.

Make your goal Timely by stating a due date for your goal AND the action steps involved in achieving it.

2. Align your goals with your values. If your goal doesnt reflect your beliefs and character then youll have difficulty achieving it. And even if you do manage to get what you want, you wont be very happy. Set a goal which is meaningful to you and be clear about the consequences of your outcome.

3. Share your goals with three to five key people. Not everyone needs this strategy with every goal but almost everyone can benefit from it at some point. Finding supportive, positive people is key because you certainly dont need anyone sabotaging your progress..

4. Assemble everything you need before you need it. This prep work is vital in eliminating the frustrating and time consuming running around which can derail your progress later on.

5. Minimize potential challenges. There are 3 key ways to prevent overconfidence and poor planning from creating obstacles down the line:

Create a complete, measurable, action plan which includes all the steps necessary to achieve your goal. Dont forget due dates for each step.
Incorporate all your actions into your schedule. Add them to your calendar with anywhere from 10-20% flextime to help you control any unexpected delays.
Regularly evaluate your progress. You may need to make changes or adjustments as your project takes shape. Anticipate them so you wont get blind-sided.

6. Complete at least one action per day. Consistent actions will propel you towards your goal. Even choosing a small task will make a dent in your to-do list and may motivate you to do even more.

7. Establish a support system. Who or what can provide you with encouragement, advice, healthy feedback or a willing ear?

8. Reward Yourself. Dont wait until you achieve your goal, especially if its a long-term one. Reward yourself as you reach certain milestones. Something as simple as scheduling time for yourself or perhaps a special treat that youve felt guilty about indulging in can keep you motivated to keep going.

Written by Merlyn Sanchez
http://www.valuablecontent.com/

How I Earned That Much ! I Can't Believe It

You know the feeling when things are not going well at life.
I was just feeling bad and emotionally injured after a broke up.
There was more to come, I have lost my job after some time.

Some of those days, I got an e-mail message was saying
you can make money online without investing a penny. It is a
classic junk message scheme they usually say that kind things
and we all receive some sort of messages. It was offering
a sign up for a paid to click site.

Click the link view the advertisers web page then after
some time is spent you get some cents instantly.
Sounded ok, there was nothing to lose. I though give a try,
at the and, at least they would not eat me.

I have noticed on that site, advertisers were offering
home based business opportunities, get rich quick messages payment
proofs etc. All were similar designed pages to sell some e book
or sort of information for some dollars. I though myself if they
know a certain thing and if there are definitions to work out,
why they give out for a small amount, why they need to do so ?

They should have beaten up the cash already.
I discovered, all the e books, information and things actually
comes out from people like anyone into online business and
offering something with fancy words to sell it to make money.
Do not believe them ! Do not spend money to e books or information
if you are planning to start an online business.

First thing get the idea what you can offer or sell or serve as
an affiliate for publishers. Think what are you good about at.
If you have better computer skills then average get the appropriate
domain name and hosting package, or just sign up for a blog.

On the topic chosen, offer valuable and detailed information to
people insert some ads to your site and love your place like your
baby. As much you give it, you will get back, patience is the key.
Do not expect too much on start, just take it as a hobby but time
and effort you spend on it will come back to you as earnings.

Give people what they need, be specific put your personality.
Do not care much the money, care about people and how you can
make impact on their life with the information you give or
product you offer.

I do not want people to spend for some sort of information
written for starters and make them spend much at the beginning.
That is why I write this article.

How I earned that much ? That is the title sentence to get you
here to read. Maybe we have been told a lot about success stories.
Honestly, I have earned by not spending much at the beginning,
because more you spend on start, expectations will grow and
patience will drop. It is just time issue starting to make money.

by gokhan pehlivan

http://www.valuablecontent.com/

Riches in Niches: Why I Became A Nichepreneur

It's safe to say that I was good at my job. It showed, too -- my clients were pleased, my supervisors was pleased, and I was pleased with the work I did.

For ten years, that was enough. I spent a decade in the industry -- ten years that gave me all kinds of skills, valuable industry insights, heaps of practical experience, and a vast network of contacts.

How much of this helped when the economy took a downturn and my employers were forced to downsize? None. Not one little teeny-weeny bit. I was out on the street with many of my contemporaries.

Believe it or not, the same thing happened at the next job.

And the next.

Why was this happening?

It was happening because I'd made the classic professional mistake. I'd become invisible.

I don't mean that I'd become transparent. Physically, of course, nothing had changed. But in a marketplace filled with a glut of public relations professionals, nothing made me stand out from the crowd. I was one of a million -- the proverbial tree in the forest. Then, when it came time to thin that forest, I was one of the first to go.

Does this sound familiar? Chances are it might. Some of you may well recognize my situation since it certainly was not unusual, nor unique to the public relations arena. Accountants, attorneys, financial advisors, marketing directors, advertising professionals, you name it -- service professionals of every stripe face the same issue. The marketplace is overflowing with highly skilled professionals who offer top quality services, yet the consumer would be hard pressed to recognize one provider from the next.

Nothing differentiates one advisor from the next. Can your clients tell which of a dozen advertising executives has the insight to handle their account? There's a real problem of sameness. The public not only views the services offered as commodities, but the service providers are also well on the way to destruction - becoming commodities as well.

I don't know about you, but personally, the thought of becoming a commodity doesn't appeal. I don't view myself in those terms. I don't believe my expertise and my passion can be interchanged for that of any of my colleagues and no one would be the wiser. I especially didn't want the label "commodity" when it meant my livelihood was subject to the whims of the financial marketplace.

More importantly, I didn't want my personal success to be contingent on the success of the people I worked for. Change was definitely necessary and it was time for me to take charge of my own destiny.

I made a promise to myself: If my ship was going to sink, it was going to sink with me standing at the helm. If no one was looking out for my best interests, it was up to me to do so.

At this point, I decided to take a good hard look at the people who were successful -- industry leaders, gurus, speakers, teachers and masters in their professions. These highly visible, very successful entrepreneurs had three traits in common:

- They were all considered experts in their fields.
- They all made substantial and on-going efforts to promote their expert identity.
- They all achieved their position through hard work and smart marketing.

I quickly realized that none of them was born an expert. Experts aren't born, they're made. Analyzing the process of how some professionals achieve high profile success revealed some surprising secrets: there are seven integral steps service professionals can take to position themselves as the Expert.

Being the Expert is the most lucrative, prominent place in any niche market. Having realized that, I had to find my own niche. If these other professionals could position themselves as Experts, so could I.

But in what niche? I looked at my career. I focused my attention on what areas my experience gave me the most pleasure. I had spent countless hours helping exhibitors be more effective at tradeshows. Much of this work included training and coaching staff members who worked the show on behalf of their company. I felt confident advising clients about what did and didn't work on the trade show floor.

The path was clear: For the past twenty years, I've enjoyed a very comfortable existence as the Trade Show Coach. It's been wonderful: world wide travel, lucrative speaking engagements, work I enjoy. Who could ask for more?

Combining my professional skills with my personal passions led to the career of my dreams: one in which my success wasn't dependent on anyone else. Being a Nichepreneur worked for me, and it can work for you!

Written by Susan A. They all want to capture attendee interest, and lure them into the booth with the new, the exciting, the irresistible. They're all facing similar challenges: short attention spans, myriad shows, and increased competition from every corner of the globe.

However, there's one extra special way that savvy exhibitors can differentiate themselves from their competitors. The company that has the best understanding of their target audience -- their wants, needs, problems, and challenges -- has the ultimate advantage in the exhibiting forum. It is these companies that take the time to learn about their customers -- and more importantly, their customer's customers -- that succeed on the show floor and beyond.

Since the marketplace changes so rapidly, this is crucial. For the first time in recent memory, there are four active generations engaged in the commercial sphere. This is a radical change which means a lot to your customers -- and of course, to you.

In previous years, buying power was concentrated within a narrow range of years: the vast majority of commercial behavior took place within a forty year span, beginning as one graduated high school and grinding to a halt upon entering retirement. In this environment, a mass market, one-size-fits-all visibility strategy worked fairly effectively.

Those days are gone. Today's consumer can be a member of one of at least four generations, beginning with the pre-pubescent teens and extending right up to the infamous baby boomers. Companies are targeting themselves to six year olds and seventy six year olds: obviously each requires a different approach from them, and ultimately, from you.

It's important to remember that not only are end customers member of these generations, but that attendees are divided among these four generations. If your marketing prowess has you experienced in marketing to one given group, it's critical to take a step back and reassess your strategies. Techniques and strategies that will appeal to one group will quickly turn another group off. It's essential that you know both who you're trying to reach and what the best way is to connect with them.

Here's a snapshot of each of the four groups and what you need to know to position yourself appropriately:

1. Millenials:

The youngest attendees on the show floor, Millenials were born after 1977. Incredibly media savvy and skeptical, Millenials take almost nothing on faith. You have to prove yourself to them -- and you need to do it quickly. More than any other generation, Millenials expect an environment of instant, verifiable information.

This group responds well to short, focused presentations, heavy on the benefits, short on the sales fluff. Educational presentations, seminars, and speakers who offer real value will draw Millenials.

At the same time, brand loyalty is almost unheard of among this group. If you want to create a lasting relationship, it will be one where you constantly have to bring your game to the table. Proving and reproving yourself as the best choice for any given transaction is the name of the game.

2. Generation X:

Gen Xers were born between 1965 and 1976. After a lifetime of being disappointed by media stars, public figures, and personal heros, Gen Xers have learned to rely on no one but themselves. They expect to work hard for what they have -- and they expect you to work hard for them.

Expect to spend more time developing a relationship with Gen Xers. You're encountering a mindset that initially distrusts most things, but is willing to work with you to reach mutually agreeable points.

Personal connection is important to Gen Xers. They like to be recognized as individuals, and place great emphasis on forming connections with colleagues and peers. This is where your individual staffers really have to shine: if they don't click' with the Gen X attendee, you're going to lose the sale.

3. Baby Boomers:

What hasn't already been written about the Baby Boomers? This self-obsessed generation has examined itself ad infinitum, and in the end declared itself pretty darn good. Idealistic and self-motivated, Boomers have a strong passion for career and individual advancement.

Appeal to Boomers with benefits-focused presentations that frame the material in terms of how it will improve individual lives. Boomers like to view things in context -- where do your products and services fit into the larger picture? Present the Boomer with the answer to that question, and you'll carry the day.

4. Traditionals:

Traditionals are slowly disappearing from the tradeshow floor. Many have entered retirement, or are seriously contemplating doing so. Born before the end of WWII, Traditionals value the success of the team over the individual. Self-sacrificing and hard working, Traditionals respond well to authoritarian figures who explain "The Best Way" or "The Ideal Solution" to any challenge.

One more generation has a definite presence on the show floor, even though you're unlikely to see them wondering the aisles, just yet. They're too busy enjoying recess and studying for fourth grade exams.

This is the burgeoning "Tween" market. Defined loosely as the years between 8-12, Tweens command incredible spending power in the nation. If you're marketing your products/services to attendees who serve this market, it would be very smart to make yourself familiar with this dynamic, ever-changing segment. Keep in mind that while Tweens have a great deal of disposable income, at the end of the day it's their parent's money paying for the purchases. Close contact to your customers and by extension, their customers, will help you walk that fine line that can ultimately lead to profitability.

The wide range of ages and viewpoints in the marketplace today is unlike anything previously experienced. Savvy exhibitors make themselves familiar with the generations most interested in their products and services and do everything possible to present themselves appropriately.

Are you ready? Let's hope so: none of the four generations outlined above, much less the Tween market, are known for their patience!

Written by Susan A. It could be just as a kind of social club, volunteer etc. Then you can do the same thing though your social networking site which could become the base for your social network marketing. First it needs to be done physically. It is required to actually meet with the people and develop relationships with them. Third you show them that you are involved in a community and that is often important to investors. All this will give you the platform to start planning for marketing a social networking website.

Marketing a social networking site depends on the target market and budget and without knowing exactly about these, it is difficult to go in to much depth. Getting thousands of people on your website is fine but if they do not sign up then it would be considered as waste effort.

For Marketing and promotion it becomes easy when you have solid demographic data and you are placed in a location where you can legally have a contest and it is within the prescribed limits of your budget. In this case the contest prize should be unique and of equal value.

The other option is buying customers. Generally it becomes tricky specially when you dont have solid numbers related and you are not sure about what the real cost of new acquisition is.

If you plan big and you have short and recognizable url then you could plan your advertising program in a unique way depending on your target market.

You should be prepared for everyone that you try to sell a marketing solution which is the greatest thing ever. You can also write press releases for your website. It helps to gain alexa rank as quickly as possible. There have been some social networking sites that went from bottom to the top one lac alexa rank within a week only due to the content of the press release. Most entities fail to work with press release properly and are not able to derive the correct benefit.

by Rajeev Guglani (http://www.valuablecontent.com/)
