Examples are

Manufacturing Process

Sales Process

Management Process

Rather than putting an effort to define each process type to understand the word "Process" it is best to understand the components that make up a Process.

A Process is Made of three components

The triggering event

The activities

The Results

The Triggering Event

The triggering event is what causes a person or machine to start performing the activities to obtain the required Result. There are three types of events
1. Action events
2. Temporal or time events
3. Rule or Conditional events.

The Activities

Activity does not include any decision making, is converts the input to the desired result.

The Results

Is the outcome of a single execution of a process and have the following characteristics
1. The result is discrete and Identifiable
2. The result is countable
3. The result is essential.

Now What is a Process

A Process is a set of linked activities that is performed in response to a event to produce a result. Within the process decision could be made to choose between activities to produce the desired result. Thus a single process could generate multiple results.
