The Principal Statistician provides analytical and statistical skills and resources to the Engineering organization and will report to the Manager of Engineering Infrastructure.andnbsp; Engineering Infrastructure is a technical support organization within Engineering Business Services that provides resources and expertise to the rest of the Engineering organization.

Responsibilities include:andnbsp; Statistical support for multi-disciplinary engineering functions in a design, development and manufacturing environment.andnbsp; The statistician will be responsible for leading projects to improve process and product performance as well as analyzing failure analysis data to predict yield.andnbsp; This position will be responsible for implementing projects to improve business performance.andnbsp; Examples may include reduced inspection and better process control methodologies.andnbsp; Cost savings and avoidance is an expected business result.andnbsp; Direct interface and communication with multiple levels of management and other design and manufacturing facilities will be required.andnbsp; Credibility will need to be established with external and internal stakeholders.andnbsp; Exemplary representation of the KCP to external customers and Design Agencies is expected.

- Utilizes statistical analysis tools to lead diverse teams to improve product and process quality.
- Champions initiatives to use statistical methodologies to reduce product inspection.
- Works with minimal input from supervision and actively seeks out process and product improvement opportunities.
- Responds to requests from Engineering and Management.
- Develops and recommends statistical methods and measures to assess process control, process capability, and process monitors for continuous improvement.
- Communicates effectively to all levels of KCP management, staff, design agency partners, and customers.
- Encourages and facilitates external and internal teamwork to achieve customer expectations.
- Prepares reports and summarizes statistical analyses.
- Advises quality, engineering, inspection, manufacturing, and other functional organizations on statistical methods and solutions for assessing process variability.
- Interfaces directly with designers and engineers within the enterprise.
- Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established HSandamp;E requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment.
