5-Star designation in annual guide identifies the IT channel’s most elite vendor partner programs

Duluth, Georgia, March 25, 2013 – 3CX today announced it has been named to CRN’s 2013 Partner Program Guide, and awarded a 5-Star Partner rating. The CRN Partner Program Guide is the definitive listing of manufacturers and software publishers that service solution providers or provide products to the IT Channel. The guide recognizes those vendors who have channel programs and derive a portion of their sales through the indirect IT Channel. The 5-Star Partner Program rating recognizes an elite subset of Partner Program Guide vendors who give solution providers the best partnering elements in their channel programs.

The list methodology is based on objective criteria that takes into account each vendor’s investments in program offerings, partner profitability, partner training, education and support, marketing programs and resources, sales support and communication. Vendors are assessed using information provided in their completed applications.

3CX Phone System has drawn praise for being an award-winning open standard, Windows-based IP PBX that provides superior features and flexibility at a far lower cost. It’s easier to manage and connects to any SIP soft or hardware phones and it increases mobility as users can also connect their iPhones or Android smartphones as extensions, making their mobile devices complete desktop phone replacements that allow them to take their office extension anywhere. Companies make additional savings as 3CX Phone System is an IP-based PBX, meaning there’s no need for separate wiring as all phones use the existing computer network.

3CX Phone System includes a Windows, iPhone and Android client that makes call control, conferencing and other unified communications features a breeze. Users can manage their extension and their calls with just a few mouse clicks. They can log in to 3CX from any computer or smartphone to see the presence and status of your colleagues within the office and any bridged offices around the world.

The 3CX Channel Program gives a great opportunity for resellers to leverage their Windows skills and tap into a completely new market, and is open to all IT and telecoms solutions providers. 3CX Partners generate profitable recurring income by reselling 3CX products with their own services to existing customers, whilst also targeting new customers. Benefits of the 3CX Partner Program include access to free products and technology. Free partner training events are held worldwide each year and direct access to the 3CX Support Team assists 3CX Partners so that they can, in turn, assist their customers.

“The companies listed in CRN’s 2013 Partner Program Guide represent a comprehensive list of the best channel programs in the market today,” said Kelley Damore, Senior Vice President and Editorial Director, for UBM Tech Channel’s CRN. “The 5-star award is reserved for vendors that understand that a successful partnership does not rely solely on the technology. By offering their partners tools, education and regular updates, vendors on this list go above and beyond traditional support to ensure a mutually beneficial partnership.”

“We are proud to have been recognized once again by CRN as a leading channel company. 3CX Phone System continues to set the bar for software-based PBXs and is fast replacing traditional hardware PBXs as the go-to solution,” said Nick Galea, 3CX CEO. “Being a 100% channel company, 3CX provides all the tools for partners to be successful when reselling 3CX Phone System and bundling in hardware and their consultancy services. We have built the 3CX Channel Program to deliver first-class value to all 3CX Partners by providing quality leads that give our partners real opportunities to expand their revenue. There has never been a more ripe market for IT resellers to capitalize on — and 3CX is here to help them in every way possible.”

The 2013 Partner Program Guide will be featured on CRN.com and the 5-Star Partners listing will be highlighted in the March 2013 issue of CRN.

To integrate Outlook with 3CX, you will need to use 3CX MyPhone, which comes bundled with 3CX Phone System 10.

This article demonstrates how to integrate Outlook using 3CX MyPhone, how to launch calls, what in-bound call pop-ups are and how to view all calls via Outlook’s journal.

The Benefits of Integrating Microsoft Outlook with 3CX Phone System

Integrating 3CX with Outlook provides the following features:

Click-To-Call

To call a customer within Outlook, simply click on the customer contact. There’s no need to input the customer’s number into your phone, which saves you and your employees time.

Call Pop-ups

In-bound calls will pop-up on your screen, letting you know which customer is calling. This saves your company time, as your customer’s details are instantly brought up on the screen. If you do not have the customer’s details stored within Outlook, you can create a new contact record.

Call Journals

All in-bound, out-bound and missed calls are stored in the customer’s contact journal, allowing you to track the calls that were made to that customer.

System Requirements

The following are requirements in order to get 3CX MyPhone and Outlook integration:

Supported Outlook versions 2003, 2007, 2010 ONLY

Preferred OS is Windows 7 which must have latest service packs and updates installed. (Can work on XP SP3. Vista not recommended)

3CX MyPhone and Microsoft Outlook should be installed on the same computer, both open and running

3CX MyPhone should be installed locally so added features are enabled. Click here to Install 3CX MyPhone Locally

You will need the latest version of 3CX Desktop Components installed.

Before you can integrate 3CX Phone System 10 with Microsoft Outlook, you must configure 3CX MyPhone. Here are the simple steps:

1. Make sure you have Microsoft Outlook opened. Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 are supported for integration with 3CX Phone System 10.

2. Open 3CX MyPhone and select the Settings and Preferences tabs

3CX is fast approaching the commercial release of 3CX Mobile Device Manager, which is scheduled to be released in Q1 2013. The solution allows you to add Android and iOS devices, configure and update device settings from an online dashboard, enforce security policies, secure access to sensitive corporate data, manage apps, and remotely lock and wipe connected devices.

3CX Mobile Device Manager provides an excellent sales opportunity to 3CX Partners as our MDM solution allows businesses to go mobile safely and securely. It’s easy to sell, simple to install and creates a new revenue stream for your company.

With 3CX MDM you can:

find and track devices

secure data

manage and deploy apps

monitor usage

block rogue apps

enforce password policies

lock and wipe devices remotely

push WiFi hotspot passwords to connected devices

The 3CX Mobile Device Manager online dashboard lets you track and monitor all of your connected devices in real time. You can audit and monitor user activity, including which apps have been installed or removed. 3CX MDM has also been optimized to reduce impact on battery life of connected devices.

One of the key issues mobile enterprises face is how to protect their data. 3CX Mobile Device Manager makes it so you can ensure all of your devices adhere to your company’s security policies. You can enforce a strong password from the online dashboard on all of your Android and iOS devices – with iPhones, you can set minimum password length, time lapse before the iPhone auto-locks and the maximum number of failed password attempts before the iPhone wipes its data.

The latest feature we have added to 3CX MDM enables you to push a WiFi hotspot password to connected devices, to a single device or to a group of devices. Once the WiFi hotspot is in range, the devices automatically connect to the hotspot.

Lost and stolen mobile devices are a fact of modern life, so 3CX Mobile Device Manager allows you to remote lock your devices. If you can’t recover an employee’s device, use 3CX Mobile Device Manager to restore the device to its factory settings and wipe the device entirely of data, both data stored on the device itself and on any SD or SIM cards.

Another key 3CX Mobile Device Manager feature is app management – you can use the service to install an app remotely to any number of connected devices from the online dashboard. You can remove rogue or suspicious apps before they damage a device or compromise your company’s data, and you can purge devices of games and any other unnecessary apps, all from the online dashboard.

3CX Delivers a Low-Cost, Feature-Rich Phone System for All Hotels
LONDON, 3 January 2013 – 3CX, developer of the award winning Windows VoIP PBX 3CX Phone System, announced today that MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCRS), the world’s leading developer of enterprise applications for hotels, has officially confirmed the compatibility of 3CX Phone System with three MICROS-FidelioProperty Management System suites, allowing hotel owners and managers to leverage the industry’s most feature-rich and cost-effective IP PBX for their hotels. The official approval of 3CX Phone System by MICROS means it is now fully-supported by MICROS.

3CX Phone System Helps Hotels Compete in a Challenging Economy
Standard hotel PBX‘s provide limited features and are very expensive to purchase and maintain, and phone systems approved by MICROS-Fidelio are even more expensive. 3CX Phone System requires far less initial investment than other hotel phone systems and reduces maintenance fees. Lowering both the purchase price and phone bills drives down overall costs, which is crucial to hotels looking to leverage any opportunity to remain competitive in a challenging economic environment. 3CX Phone System also includes more features than many MICROS-Fidelio approved PBX‘s.

3CX Phone System works hand in hand with MICROS-Fidelio, and we’re pleased to be officially confirmed compatible with three MICROS-Fidelio Property Management Systems,” said Nick Galea, CEO of 3CX. “Our technology integrates perfectly with MICROS-Fidelio solutions. The hotel and hospitality space is a tremendous opportunity for us, and the backing of MICROS, the leading hotel PMS vendor, brings us to the doorstep of thousands of the world’s finest hotels and some of its premier chains.

3CX Phone System Unified Communications Features Integrated within the MICROS-Fidelio PMS Interface
3CX Phone System provides users with core hotel telephony functions from within the MICROS-Fidelio property management system interface, such as guest name display, wake up calls, DND, check-in and checkout.

Advanced Unified Communications features allow front-desk, management, and sales staff to work more efficiently, whilst still using the hotel’s existing analog phones.

Prestigious Hotels Worldwide are Leveraging 3CX’s 5 Star Hotel PBX Features
A number of the world’s finest hotels currently use 3CX Phone System, including Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados, the Maierl-Alm in Austria, the Castelnou Aparthotel in Belgium, Intercontinental Hotels in Oman, the Best Western Gouda, Netherlands, and Holiday Inn Express hotels in the Netherlands.

3CX is pleased to announce the release of Service Pack 3, build 28392.820 for 3CX Phone System 11.

In Service Pack 3, we’ve focused a great deal on making it easier for system administrators to manage and configure multiple extensions and their forwarding rules.

To download this update, simply login to the 3CX Windows Management Console from Start > All Programs > 3CX Phone System > Windows Management Console and navigate to the 3CX Phone System Updates node > 3CX Service Packs / Updates.

New Features and Changes

New

You can now edit the forwarding rules of multiple extensions simultaneously.

We’ve added a new Ukrainian System prompt set.

When a new extension is created, details can now be copied to the clipboard.

A new security policy check will be carried out when an extension is granted rights to access the 3CX Management Console. The PIN number must be at least 5 digits long.

Added SSL/TLS to Email server for Voicemail, system notifications, conference meetings, and Fax over email attachments. (If your certificate is not issued by a trusted certificate of authority, you will need to install the certificate on the 3CX Phone System server).

Added SSL/TLS options to 3CX Wizard so that new 3CX Phone System installations can be configured with Email SSL/TLS immediately.

Introduced new provisioning template for the latest firmwares of Yealink T2X (FW: X.70.0.103) and T3X (FW 3X.70.0.105) IP Phone models.

Fax email can now be customized from %allusersprofile%\3CX\Data\Http\Templates\FAXTemplate.txt

Removed automatic profile change when an extension is set to Available 2 or Out of office 2. To be used when a user is sick/business trip.

Updates

The Russian strings file has been updated.

Added NI2 protocol for Patton 4940/4970 single PRI T1 templates (US).

Added security blocking for SIP tool “sipcli”.

Extensions that have different forwarding rules will no longer show forwarding rules configuration when they are multiple edited, but settings applied outside of the forwarding rules page will be saved.

Multiple extensions using PIN Protect option is now allowed.

Multiple editing of extensions to allow them access to the 3CX Management Console is not allowed. 3CX Management Console access must be given individually.

When editing multiple extensions with different BLF configurations, you now have the option to keep the current settings of each configured BLF.
