Our New Office in Caldwell Texas!

Things are moving fast here, in more ways than one. A couple of days ago, I leased an office in Caldwell Texas, and have been working like a fiend to get it ready. Why would I rent an office you may wonder? Well, the main reason is to get a better Internet Service Provider (ISP), so that I can better serve you, my old ISP, Wildblue Satellite, was not a bad thing for the normal everyday type of user, but the bandwidth restrictions for someone like me, were terrible, and keep me from doing my work!

Where I live, in the sticks, between Somerville and Caldwell Texas, you have only two options, dial-up, or satellite, the latter being the better choice, but, their “Fairness Policy” limits the bandwidth you can use, and the speed is slow, by today’s standards 1.5MB down, about 200K up, when the weather is good, But, they say that these bandwidth limits only effect about 3% of their customers, funny, I maxed out twice a month!

Anyway, BustinLooseMedia.com now has Verizon DSL 5MB down and 768K up. which means that BustinLooseHosting.com has it as well, so now, I can get my work done more than twice as fast as before! This also means that our local clients can come to the office and visit me!

Actually, I believe that this will help BustinLooseMedia.com grow, which is the parent company, that owns many other websites as well as BustinLooseHosting.com, and will bring me closer to the local businesses that I am here to serve.

As you can tell from the pictures below, the office is still a work in progress, but once it is finished, stop on by, and have a cup of coffee. The new Information is:

Confused, Wondering what to do next? How long will it take?

View your site the way it is supposed to be seen, use Firefox!

Many people are still using Internet Explorer for their web browser, after all, it comes installed on your computer, and that is not a bad thing, if it is a current version, but an old IE6 or something is, and if you are using an old version, click this link to go there and upgrade, if you are sure that you want to use Internet Explorer, but, if you want to view the web the way it was intended to be seen, then make sure that you download Mozilla Firefox here, or by clicking the image to the left, yes, it will automatically add all of your BookMarks or Favorites or whatever IE calls it, if you tell it to, or you can start fresh and add new ones, it is up to you.

The whole point to this is simple, there are many things web designers do, that you cannot even see if you are using an old outdated browser, so, we suggest using Firefox

First, lets see where you signed up. Unfortunately, there is more than one database involved with this site, and yes, to use the various features, you must sign up for them separately. The Blog section and the Forum uses the same database, but the Hosting Portal is separate, so let’s make sure that you have registered in the right place.

To keep Spammers away, the Blog and Forum require you to have a Hosting account, and each registration to the Blog/Forum, will require admin approval to verify that you are a Hosting account holder. This is for your protection, and keeps the junk out, so that you won’t get any misleading information or links to sites that you really don’t want to see. We welcome our members to post links to sites that they find useful and might like to share with others, but, please, no SPAM.

Ok, lets see what you have done.

Did you register at the Hosting Portal?
Did you Contact Us about your Hosting Needs?
Did you select a Hosting Plan?
Did you need to register a NEW domain name? Or Search for one here?
Did you select to Transfer an existing Domain?
Did you select to update your existing nameservers?
Have you put a budget together for theme customization?
Did you Confirm your order, making sure everything is correct?
Did you read the Terms of Service (TOS) and agree to them?
Did you Complete your order and Check Out with PayPal?

If you have done all of that, you will be getting a series of emails that let you know the status of your order along with a welcome email containing your cPanel login information.

At this point, assuming that you have been in contact with us, we will install WordPress for you, then, depending on what you have decided about customization, we will begin the work installing and modifying your theme, during this time, visitors to your site will see an “Under Construction” page, but you will see what is going on, the good the bad and the ugly, it is a bit like making sausage, it is not always pretty, since changes to code can make alignments and such move around, you may not want to watch the outside of your new site going through these changes, but, the inside will be just fine and you may start adding content if you wish, but you can wait, we will let you know when the site is ready.

Depending on the source of your theme, and whether it is a FREE theme though WordPress.org or an outside developer, the code may not be written in a manner that is “suitable” for us to customize, yes, they may purposely do this to make modifications as difficult as possible so that you pay them to do it, but, the core WordPress code stays the same, it is just the theme code that would be the issue.

Who is BustinLooseMedia and why is that on my invoice?

Just to keep everything in the open and to eliminate confusion, this needs to be better clarified. BustinLooseMedia.com is the parent company, the one that collects payments and pays our bills, this keeps the books simple. The theme customization is done by WildWebDesigner.com, another division of BustinLooseMedia.com, but payments for that are also done through the same billing department here, this is so that you have only one place to go to take care of all of your website, domain and hosting needs. Don’t let that confuse you, yes, we do domain name registrations, and you may transfer it to us, but, if you have purchased your domain name elsewhere, you may keep it there if you are happy with them, just point your nameservers to us, and your site will be online, and remember, if you currently have a site hosted elsewhere, and we build you a new one here, from the time you change the nameservers, it can take some time for the change to propagate throughout the internet, sometimes it only takes a couple of hours, sometimes it takes longer, so just be patient when you do this, and you will find more details in the knowledge base.

Other than that, we try to keep everything as simple as possible, that is what we are all about, we remove the hassles and take care of it for you. Once you have registered, selected a domain name, hosting plan, and theme customization options, we will register your new domain and get your site up and running as fast as possible. We will of course need your input as to what you want your site to look like, but once we are finished, all you have to do is add content! Just like this article, it is as simple as sending an email.

The way things are done here, are definitely different from most any other Web hosting site, it is not that we are slow, it is not complicated, but we are thorough, we want to first make sure that BustinLooseHosting.com is the right choice for you and that we can deliver what you want and need, we ARE NOT just trying to sell you space on a server, we are here to offer a complete service package, including set-up, and design of your website, email addresses, and many other needed tools.

First things first, contact us before you do anything! We need to ask you some questions to make sure that we are the right choice for you. Questions like, have you registered a Domain name? If not, that is ok, if you have, is there an existing site? What are your goals? Are you familiar with WordPress? How much traffic do you expect? Do you have an existing “Brick and Mortar” business?

These things are important and we need to ask them to make sure we cover all of your needs and that WordPress will actually work for you, as you can see, BustinLooseHosting.com is a WordPress site, but other scripts are used for the billing etc.

As of now, there is but one website designer, me, David. CarpetGuy is my nickname, and building websites using WordPress and customizing themes for it is my passion. You can see some of my work, and many of the theme demos that I use at WildWebDesigner.com. You will also see a page with various rates and such there, but much of that website will be changing, so as always, contact me before you do anything.
