He’s not a racist or a xenophobe… he does have some ideas which would seem odd to most young agnostic/atheist liberals… he’s a bit old fashioned and an evangelical, his faith guides him more than anything else, and he believes that the UK is a protestant nation, and believes in monarchs being annointed by God, and all that stuff… he’s a traditionalist, a conservative, and he believes in the rule of law because, for him, the roots of law come from scripture. This mindset informs his views with regard to the legitimacy, or illegitimacy, of Blair’s actions with regard to migrants. Denis believes that Blair allowed hundreds of thousands of Eastern European Catholics to come into the UK because it would enable a quick and easy conversion as well as give him support from religous and political figures in Europe for any potential presidential bid.
