Engagement Photography In Dovedale, Derbyshire

As a wedding photographer in the UK the weather is always going to challenge you to deliver great images in the cold, wet, windy, snowy months and it’s spring after all. The key is to have fun and enjoy yourselves.

When I meet with Erin and Pete last year and they decided to book me for their 2012 summer wedding I was delighted to be involved. I captured their engagement shoot a few weeks ago the day after the hard snow fall. We headed to Dovedale in Derbyshire and walked along the stepping stones, the mountains were covered in snow however the ground was clear with some nice sunshine yet freezing cold water. This did not stop Erin and Peter taking a dip in the water and having a splash, mainly splashing in the direction of Pete.

The action did not stop there Pete tried to climb every hill top with various degrees of success but in between the fun you can see the love they both share for each other and the special day I feel glad to be part of. Roll on their wedding day at Shottle Hall

Nottingham Engagement Photography

I’m very delighted to share with you the Nottingham engagement photography shoot of Abi and Paul. Back in early 2011, Abi and Paul won the Save the Date Magazine wedding event with a difference competition. This fabulous prize included, wedding reception styling and co-ordination, a wedding car and cake, music, gift credit towards a beautiful wedding dress and a photography package from us.

We met at Wollaton Hall and enjoyed what now seems to have been our summertime in the courtyard catching up on their wedding plans over a latte, then we strolled around the sunny gardens getting to know each other better and capturing their romance!

Abi & Paul, marry at the beautiful Southwell Minster, it’s been on my list as a ‘place I’d like to shoot at some day’ ….. there’s quite a few on this list!! I’m very much looking forward to Abi & Paul’s wedding day they’re a fabulous couple, with some of Nottingham’s finest wedding suppliers involved in their day – it’s going to be fun.

Colwick Hall Nottingham Wedding photographers

We met Alison and Andrew early last year when they chose us as their Nottingham wedding photographers to capture their wedding in Papplewick Nottingham and then at the beautiful Colwick Hall. Local to Newstead Abbey where they’d enjoyed their engagement shoot I joined Ali for the bridal preparations whilst Neil joined the guys over at the Nottingham Belfry, whilst they finished getting ready and learning the art of tieing a cravat.

With a home full of ladies getting ready Alison’s dad kept us entertained with his little tunes, the girls were extremely organised, relaxed and running well to time. Even the younger ones helped each other with hair and dressing. Alison’s flowers arrived, by the fabulous Tineke Floral Designs and the ladies all looked in admiration at them as the lay on the dining room table.

Alison and Andrew married at a small church in Papplewick, the drive down the daffodil lined lane was a pretty one and once inside the busy church was full of guests both up and down stairs. After a beautiful service it was outside into the cool Spring sunshine, armed with wellies Ali and the bridesmaids made the short walk through the woods to Papplewick Hall where drinks were waiting for guests to enjoy before boarding the coach to Colwick Hall.

Once we all arrived at Colwick Hall we captured the group photographs and strolled the grounds. It was then time for dinner and the all important speeches, it’s always a best man gets the groom moment when the head goes into the hands!

The evening then started with a beautiful first dance, the footsteps of a beautiful new journey together.

Andrew and Ali, we loved capturing your day for you, having spent this time with you we can see what a match you are, how your love is such a strong and perfect one for each other. We wish you all the very very happiness. Neil & Becky xx

A Newstead Abbey Engagement

A little while back I captured the Newstead Abbey engagement session of Chris and Stacey. It’s a special place for me, as this is where I proposed to Becky back in 1999 (some of you may have heard this many many times before!). So I really enjoyed taking Chris and Stacey’s engagement photographs here.

We made full use of exploring the grounds, it was on a week day during school hours which is just a wonderful time as it’s so peaceful, and as we strolled we chatted about their plans for their Summer wedding at Donington Park Farmhouse in Derbyshire.

Tell us a little about yourself and your company?

My name is Sarah Glennie and my passion is WEDDINGS!!! I come from a Sales and Marketing background thrown in with as some might say an obsession with all things pretty, colour tones, papers adding to that loving to organise and that touch of creativity thrown in for good measure that’s me….

What made you start your business & how long?

Tillyboo has been running for 7 years now! I started due to both my obsession for weddings and having also worked in America. (No one does weddings quite like the Americans)

What services does your business offer?

Tillyboo Events is Wedding Coordination, Every Venue Styling Element from On the Tables, Lantern and Lighting to Stationery!

Giving me endless ideas of keeping up with the latest trends and inspirations stationery a having coordinated and venue styled for lots of wonderful couples who I would consider are friends more than clients. The personal touch is always the way forward!

What words best describe you?

Eeeeek Just the one……. PASSION!!!!

What words best describe your company?

Oh So Innovative!!!!! Amazing Weddings for Affordable Prices.

What your favourite/classic package?

Oh So Chic ……. Gives a mini coordination package that does not break the bank, and gives Bride and Grooms that friendly helping hand along the way and more importantly peace of mind.

What’s going to be popular for 2012 / 2013?

Contrasting Pallete Tones, Country Chic ….. Rustic with Style …. Lighting …….!!!!!!

What inspires your designs? I really do not know, I visit a bride and blurb starts coming from my mouth – lots of ideas and then I just buzz ….. I just love creativity!!!! And helping create that spark and se Bride and Grooms get excited about their big day!

What’s your favourite part of your job?

Design, Vision, planning, coordinating …. Oh the whole lot!

What’s the hardest part of your job?

Watching the ceremony and first dance – i’m always a mushy mess!!!! You just get so involved …. Very personable and friendly!

On average per year how many weddings are you commissioned for?

Various in different aspects.

How far in advance should clients book you to avoid disappointment or recommend placing an order/booking? 6 – 12 months

What has been the most unusual request you’ve had? Pink Flamingos but they were sourced!

How do you relax after a busy day? PJ’s, bottle of Pinot Noir and snuggles with The Fonz by Boxer dog!

Do you have any exciting projects coming up? Yay!!!!!!!! Relaunch of new stationery, new stock and new ideas very excited!
