Forget the bookmarks--mark the whole book!

I purchased Hungry Girl 1-2-3 book a month ago on Amazon and have been anxiously awaiting its debut. Since it came in the mail today I have not been able to put it down. I want to make everything in it! I started marking pages with strips of paper I ripped off the packing slip but quickly ran out of paper. Then I moved on to bending corners... pretty soon I realized there was few pages left unmarked so I gave up! I think I could make any of these recipes for my husband and he wouldn't even realize I made a low fat and healthy version of his favorite food. That is the true test--if a non-dieter can enjoy and even ask for dishes made from a guilt-free recipe book! I have used my 200 under 200 recipe book at least 5 times a week since I got it for Christmas and can't wait to begin trying all these tasty new dishes. We are hooked on Hungry Girl!

A must-have and a great gift!

I love the HG emails and products, and this book is great- in my opinion, the best Hungry Girl 1-2-3 book so far. I just started flipping through it and already have tons of pages marked as things I want to make later! I have a couple friends with birthdays coming up and I think this will make a great gift. Since it's so inexpensive you could pair it with a cute pink spatula or pot holder for a really fun complete present! The only thing I noticed after going through it for a while.... no pictures. That's a downside in my book, but it still works.

Best way to eat good!

My wife and I have been changing how we eat since August of 2009. Together since then we have lost over 117 pounds! Hungry Girl 1-2-3 book has been helping us to eat healthier but not miss any of the taste! LOVE HUNGRY GIRL! We try recipes almost daily. This is the shooting script for the movie "Serenity," but it only starts there. It's also a long interview with creator Joss Whedon on the show "Firefly," what roles he originally envisioned for the characters and how the actors embodied them, all the different elements that went into creating a TV show like few others, and all the great insider stuff that fans burn to know. Then there are the extras... The definitive (since it's from Joss) history of how the 'Verse got that way. How the government is set up. How the war for Unification began with the best of good intentions. And how a young man named Malcolm Reynolds volunteered. Star maps. Tons of photos from both sides of the camera. Production drawings of weapons, ships, costumes (including some beautifully drawn samples of Inara that I'd like to see available as prints), and every major set. The FFXIII Encyclopedia (PS3 and Xbox 360) This is the first and apparently complete guide on Final Fantasy XIII. For your money, you get over 270 glossy, 8.5x11", full color, beautifully illustrated pages that, as far as I can tell cover EVERYTHING that you'd ever want to know about the game except for most of spoilers - the assumption is that you do NOT want to see spoilers. The book is divided into six main section and an Index:

- QUICKSTART - things you need to know as you start the game and for the first few hours of play.

- WALKTHROUGH - the bulk of the book (over 120 pages). It has all the maps, all the scripted encounters - and much of FFXIII is tightly scripted. It's a good thing to have whenever you get stuck and discouraged. The authors promise that spoilers were kept to a minimum.

- STRATEGY AND ANALYSIS - here you get hints on tactics and strategy, hidden games mechanics are covered, everything there is to know about the Crystarium and Paradigm features. It's page after page after page of illustrated data that help you get insights on how to develop your character and how your team is likely to perform under various paradigms. I can't say that I understand all the graphs and charts at this time but I expect to visit the chapter more and more as I advance deeper into the story.

- INVENTORY - every item you equip affects the outcome of the battle and this chapter has it all, complete with tips and with the mind-boggling charts where dozens if not hundreds of items are analyzed and evaluated. In addition, each character's weapons are analyzed separately.

- BESTIARY - If you didn't know, it turns out that there are 240 monsters you are likely to meet and here you can see exactly what they look like and what their strengths and vulnerabilities are.

- EXTRAS - it's a checklist of side and optional quests. There are also a few pages on trophies but, most interestingly you get the actual story of the 13 FFXIII days, all followed by a few more pages dedicated to 'analysis and speculation'. And, if you are someone who bothers to actually read 'the signs', you get a Cocoon-to-English alphabet decoder.

I am VERY pleased with this book. It's unlikely that I will ever read everything but I will definitely read the first and last chapters, refer to the Walkthrough section when in trouble, read 'strategy and analysis' maybe minus most of the stats, check the monster listings and and the inventory section when curious about enemies or items.

Funny, perceptive and highly entertaining!! This is a great book. A real surprise. What a treat. On the one hand, this is a tale of reinvention. It's a story about having (or having had) everything you wanted - and then still wanting to call a do-over. On the other hand, it is hysterical. Sometimes it's hysterical in a laugh-out-loud sort of a way. Sometimes in a sneak-up-on-you-the-next-day-in-the-shower sort of a way. It is a biting, insightful look at pop culture through the lens of a one-time A-list Hollywood leading man who sees the opportunity to make himself relevant again - to himself and to the world, by dying. Sort of. From the writer's bio it seems that he has written a number of books with celebrities. And that inside feel really comes across when you read this book. You have the feeling of getting into the mind and culture of someone who has lived his life under the watchful eye of the media and his adoring public. There's a kind of Being John Malkovich thing going here - as the writer brings you into the head of a Jack Nicholson kind of guy, and he's got the street cred and the chops to really pull it off. On the other side of the story is this kind of hapless, deadbeat newspaper obit writer - and the vivid accounts of his life and perspective, to often bitingly hilarious result. I highly recommend this book. Extremely entertaining, Paisner is consistently good. Whether he is writing one of his numerous celebrity biographies or a novel, his style and story keep you interested from page one. The characters in Mourning Wood are so innovative and interesting; they are a breath of fresh air from your standard pop culture fare. I believe this is the second novel of Paisner's and I can only hope that he turns more of his attention to fiction as both of these have been treats. are you serious "mourning wood". surly this guy realizes the joke. make sure to get the HARDcover version.

You will be mad as Hell (when you read this book)!! Dr. Starr returns to the essence of medicine: Listening to what the patient has to say and looking at the patient and finding evidence to make the diagnosis. He pays great homage to the early pioneers in thyroidology, referencing their publications and insights, and provides photographs clearly showing the physical consequences when thyroid hormones, despite "normal" laboratory tests, are not working. At last, someone has stepped up to the plate and decried the medical profession's reliance, no, blind faith, in third-party medicine (blood, spit, urine lab tests). Skepticism helped medicine leap forward centuries ago. Dr. Staar's excellent book brings it on. After reading this book, you will know, you, or someone dear to you, will have some expression of hypothyroidism type 2 (thyroid hormone resistance syndrome). His book will empower you to seek, no, insist, on getting the proper treatment. Dr. Staar's assessment that this is an epidemic is true. This is a must-read for all healthcare professionals. I have traveled from Florida to see Dr. Starr and will continue to
do so because he is right on target with my diagnosis and treatment.
His book shows how this problem is an epidemic and is being totally
ignored. When blood tests actually do show a problem it is being
ineffectively treated, which I can attest to. Now that I understand the
issues I can better deal with my health problems that grow less and
less each day. I've sent my mother and my sister to see Dr. Starr. His
claim that this disease runs in families is true in my case as well.
I'm the fourth generation with thyroid problems. I finally feel as if I
have found a health practitioner that truly understands my problems.

Very motivating and refreshingI've pre-ordered the book and received it yesterday, March 08, just a day before it officially started selling. Initially I was going just to read few chapters, but ended up reading the whole book in under 2 hours. It doesn't contain any secret techniques, doesn't use fancy "business" terms, in fact it mocks most of these things, and does it pretty good. You can tell that authors do enjoy their work, and especially the flexibility of their business, that's why the book criticizes such things as boring meetings, complicated business plans etc. Even if you don't agree with everything they say, there's still that nice feeling when you realize that authors have built very successful business having these concepts in mind. Also, "Re-Work" has very small chapters, which I find a real advantage, as every time you turn the page, you read something new. Overall, my best recommendations.

The Complete Hardcover Twilight Saga This set includes all the books from the Twilight Saga, which includes; Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and lastly Breaking Dawn. The books themselves are exactly likes the ones you find at any bookstore, in hardcover. The case it comes in has all the book covers displayed on each side minus the names of each book. What is included that you couldn't normally get by buying each one individually elsewhere are 4 5x7-ish cards that have the cover picture on one side, then quotes from the corresponding book written on the other. for example: one 5x7 has a picture of the twilight cover, hands holding a red apple, then the other side it says, "About three things i was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him--and i didn't know how dominant that part of him might be--that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him." (I included some pictures so you can get a better idea of what they are) I would recommend this set to those who do not already own the twilight collection(like me) and would like to own all the books(i borrowed them all from a friend). Or of course obsessed twilight fans. There's nothing truly remarkable about the set so i wouldn't go buying this if you already own all the books. I am very happy with my purchase nonetheless. This saga is one of my favorites. Gorgeous keepsake collection of all four books in the Twilight series!
This is a value buy for those who are contemplating sinking their
teeth [pun intended] into Stephenie Meyers' Twilight series as it not
only offers all four books, i.e. Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and
Breaking Dawn for a great price, they all come housed in a gorgeous
keepsake box. I have all four of the books in hardcover, but I purchased
them individually as they were released, and am seriously contemplating
getting this boxed set which I can keep as a souvenir, and then use the
other books as my reading copies.

Well, for those who are new to the series, the books are in the
following order:

Twilight - Bella Swan moves to a small town near Seattle called
Forks and meets Edward Cullen, an enigmatic student at her high school
who turns out to be a vampire and lives with his clan in a magnificent
mansion. As the romance between Bella and Edward blossom, they have to
face obstacles such as the physical 'constraints' of being in a
mortal-vampire relationship, facing objections from their respective
families, and threats from other more vicious vampires.

New Moon - Edward and Bella are parted and Bella is so heartbroken
that her life becomes empty and without direction. Enter Jacob Black,
the tall, dark and handsome friend from the reservation, La Push who
provides Bella with not only friendship but someone she can trust and
rely on during a desperate time. Of course, nothing in Bella Swan's life
is ever quite so simple and complications crop up once again.

Eclipse - Edward and Bella are back together, much to the
disappointment and disgust of Jacob Black, himself now an other-worldly
being. Will he convince Bella that he is more worthy of her love or will
Edward prevail?

Breaking Dawn - the final instalment in the series. Edward, Bella
and Jacob feature prominently here, with the most pivotal question -
will Bella sacrifice her mortality for an immortal life with Edward? If
so, what are the repercussions?

All in all, the Twilight series makes for an interesting and fun reading experience and this beautiful boxed set for the price offered here on Amazon is definitely a keepsake for fans and new readers alike!

Wow this is one huge book and it contains all of the Lee/Ditko goodness that there ever was or will be. Beautiful book, I had some reprints of this material when I was a little kid and after I got older I always wanted a collection of only Lee/Ditko material and lo and behold three Spider-man movies later Marvel unveils this mammoth book of the first 38 issues as well as other early appearances of the Webhead. Amazon's price is very nice and certainly cheaper than what will be found in a comic book store, not that folks shouldn't support their local comic book stores but a deal is a deal. The book does is titled as Volume 1 so just as there has been a volume 2 of the Fantastic Four, there very well may be a Volume 2 of The Amazing Spider-man within a few years.
