Back by popular demand, Danny Marona will be the keynote speaker at the 2009 Buy Idaho annual meeting and vendor show.

Buy Idaho members, come Celebrate, Network, have Lunch, and enjoy the entertainment and motivation of Danny Marona, named "Entertainer of the Year" 10 years in a row; and "Comedian of the Year" 9 times by Nevada Magazine. Danny was such a hit at the 2008 annual meeting and vendor show we asked him to be our keynote speaker again this year.

Governor's 2008 Business Opportunity Conference a Success

The 20th Annual Governor's Business Opportunity Conference in Pocatello was a great success!

Over 160 business people gathered for the networking opportunity to sell Idaho products and services. At the Buy Idaho booth, over 200 Buy Idaho membership directories were distributed to business and industry leaders, as a quick reference to buy from Buy Idaho members.

New members joined Buy Idaho, current members met and networked new business opportunities with others in attendance.

Thanks to Governor Butch Otter, and the staff of the Idaho Department of Commerce for an excellent conference to promote Idaho business and Buy Idaho specifically.

Roger Jones is this Week's Buy Idaho Member of the Week at KIDO 580 AM

This week's guest on KIDO Radio is Roger Jones, owner of Carmela Vinyards in Glenns Ferry.

Located in Glenns Ferry, less than an hour away from Boise Valley or Twin Falls, Carmela Vinyards is owned and operated by Roger Jones and is one of Idaho's most complete wineries. Varieties of wine made include Chardonnay, Semillon, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir.

Thirty acres of vineyards surround the winery on a slope overlooking the Snake River. Carmela has a 60,000 gallon capacity in it's growing wine cellar, and is complete with lab and bottling room, gift shop, restaurant, and a 9 hole 34 par golf course that winds through the vineyards. Banquet facilities are available for weddings, family and class reunions, conferences and other special events.

Every second and fourth Wednesday at 8:55 a.m. KIDO Radio hosts Dave Burnett and Bryon Norton interview a Buy Idaho member about their business. If the 1.5 million people in Idaho, all spent just $100 more with Idaho companies this year, instead of an out of state company:That would be $150,000,000 more spent into the Idaho economy this year.

Imagine the effect of another $150,000,000 in new jobs, capitol improvement, re-investment in Idaho families and new equipment to build Idaho business, industry, education and agriculture.

Sales tax at 6% would be $9,000,000 increased funding for education, health & welfare, parks, transportation, law enforcement, and the many services that make Idaho a better place to live and raise families.

Plus, the taxes Idaho companies pay on the $150,000,000 in additional sales; the wages they pay people, the workers compensation, health care, added jobs and the individual taxes the employees will pay into the Idaho economy. With additional income, families will enjoy a higher standard of living.
