Most people probably don’t look at it this way but I’ve heard a few people say that they consider lottery tickets to be an investment. When I tell them that most people think of buying lottery tickets as being the exact opposite, a total waste of money. I suppose it all depends on your point of view. If you look at buying lottery tickets as a form of entertainment then I suppose it’s not a total waste of time but looking at it as an investment opportunity I reckon is stretching things a little far, that is of course unless you’re one of the lucky ones who happens to win a prize.

Naturally, to win a prize you have to go out and buy a ticket and then if you do that there is always a chance that once you’ve won that elusive prize you can’t claim it because you’ve gone and lost the ticket. Now that would be a tragedy. It does happen too, I even wrote a post about it called Can You Afford To Lose Your Lottery Ticket?, which gives an idea of how many people actually lose their lottery tickets. It’s one of the many reasons why I buy my lottery tickets online. Even as recent as the last Oz Lotto $70M the Victorian winner has still failed to front up to collect their winnings. Well, it looks like I lucked out again although there were three winners who share in the $70 Million dollars. But before we get into that I know you want to check out the winning numbers and the dividends so that you can see how much you won, if anything at all.

First I would like to apologise for not posting the results earlier but I’ve had other things on my plate and this is the first chance I’ve had to post on this blog. Anyway there was a single winner who won the $173 million! The lucky winner was from Pennsylvania, so if you’re from there and you bought a ticket in that draw then I suggest you go check your ticket to see if that lucky person was you. What Is Power Play In Powerball?

I’m glad you asked I didn’t know myself and so I did a bit of a search and found out that by using Power Play players have are able to increase their Powerball prizes. Purchasing the Power Play option allows winning players to boost their Powerball prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times the original prize amount. Oh, and before you get too excited, Power Play does not work on the Jackpot, but then that would be greedy wouldn’t it?

OK, this post is in response to all those emails I’ve been getting about helping you guys to pick the winning lottery numbers. And guess what I wasn’t one of them But you know what, I don’t really care because at least I know I gave it a shot. Yep, I gave it a shot and lost but even though there were millions who also took a chance there were many more millions that didn’t and they will never know whether or not they could have been millionaires right now.

There were actually three winners in Draw # 2012/26 who will collect $213 million each before taxes. There were also three other winners who instantly became millionaires. Damn, I used a quick pick as well but lucked out this time around, but what the heck, there is always next time. At least I didn’t have to line up with the multitudes, fight the crowds being jostled by those smelling of perspiration who didn’t shower that day. Nope I got my tickets from the comfort of my home because I bought it online using theLotter.com. OK, now to see if I won the Aussie Lotto, sure it was only worth $21 million but even that is something worth winning .
