<summary>I had yet to use some of my Buzz and Bloom stash on a card and since it seems to be the time of year of graduations, weddings and babies I decided having an extra one on hand would be a good idea! I have been getting lots of handpicked bouquets by one certain 4 year old so I thought using the CB Fancy Pansy was the perfect fit. I misted the chipboard using a metallic orange color to compliment the colors in the patterned paper and layered some of the elements on top of one another for a dimensional effect. Now I have a pretty handmade card all set to deliver! Use some Buzz and Bloom chipboard on a card and share your results! Have a beautiful day! Lexi</summary>

<p>The main fabric is a white cotton scrap piece.<br />I transfered a quote: "If you love someone, put their name in a circle; because hearts can be broken, but circles never end" this way: 1. print it backwards on a transparency 2. apply medium gel on the fabric and on the text 3. Put the text on the fabric and press with your fingers, as you do it for a rub-on 4. remove the transparency and the text should be on your fabric 5. let it dry.</p>
<p><a href="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0120a70c8fd4970b-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Love-detail2" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341cc77b53ef0120a70c8fd4970b " src="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0120a70c8fd4970b-320wi" /></a></p>
<p><br />I used some light glimmery pink paint spray to color the white fabric, which brought a distressed look to the text part too. <br />Than I sewed the other fabric pieces over with my sewing machine. I mostly chose pink<strong> <a href="http://www.buzzandbloom.com/cor-pw-tg.htm" target="_blank">Cord :: Patchwork: The George</a></strong><br />The flowers were machine stitched too, and I added the buttons afterwards.</p>
<p><a href="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0128760f3c6f970c-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Love-detail3" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341cc77b53ef0128760f3c6f970c " src="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0128760f3c6f970c-320wi" /></a></p>
<p>To finish, I embossed the alphabet chipboards in white and sticked them on the fabric with glue. <br /><strong><a href="http://www.buzzandbloom.com/cb-abc-sh.htm" target="_blank">Chipboard :: Shelby Alphabet</a></strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0128760f3d19970c-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Love-detail1" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341cc77b53ef0128760f3d19970c " src="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0128760f3d19970c-320wi" /></a> <br /> </span> <br /> I also wanted to add pictures of the family, so I cut some index pictures and sticked them round the edge.</p>
<p>Happy sewing to you all :)</p>

<p> <br />That started originally as a beanie but as it would have it, decided that it looked better of as a flower. =) Instead of believing that the product of my time and effort belongs to the bin, I decided to team it with a crochet yellow flower, <strong><a href="http://buzzandbloom.net.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=flypage.tpl&amp;product_id=428&amp;category_id=96&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=178" target="_blank">DEN Up the Garden Path Multi - Emerald</a></strong> and <a href="http://buzzandbloom.net.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=flypage.tpl&amp;product_id=292&amp;category_id=88&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=168" target="_blank"><strong>COR Borderline: Heart Throb - Black</strong></a> to create a flower brooch. </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0134804f1630970c-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Flower Brooch Close Up Small" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341cc77b53ef0134804f1630970c " src="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0134804f1630970c-120wi" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">To create the centre of this brooch using Borderline, all I did was to run a loose stitch through the entire length of the border before tugging at my sewing thread to scrunch up <a href="http://buzzandbloom.net.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=flypage.tpl&amp;product_id=292&amp;category_id=88&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=168" target="_blank"><strong>COR Borderline: Heart Throb - Black</strong></a>. The end result is a beautiful flower, which served as the base to rest the bloom I cut off <strong><a href="http://buzzandbloom.net.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=flypage.tpl&amp;product_id=428&amp;category_id=96&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=178" target="_blank">DEN Up the Garden Path Multi - Emerald</a></strong>. A simple rhinestone was sewn right the heart of the brooch to give this creation a little sparkle. Attach a brooch clip to the back and taadah! My very own flower brooch, created from a project that found a new direction!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">So I hope you see new hope in projects that might seem to be heading in a different direction from your original intent. You never know what you might really end up with! Have fun!</p>

<content type="xhtml" xml:lang="en-US" xml:base="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/buzzandbloom/"><div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>For this project I went way off the page and created this mini mobile using <strong><a href="http://buzzandbloom.net.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=flypage.tpl&amp;product_id=598&amp;category_id=79&amp;keyword=bird&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=161" target="_blank">CB Fly Away Peter - large</a>.  <a href="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef01348131ffbf970c-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Fly free bird" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341cc77b53ef01348131ffbf970c " src="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef01348131ffbf970c-500wi" /></a> </strong></p>
<p>I first traced the birds onto patterned paper.  Here I used October Afternoon's "Fly A Kite" line.  Before adhering the patterned paper cut outs, I used my sewing machine to stitch around the perimeter of the paper.  I then used a liquid adhesive to glue the patterned paper down.  Using a file I sanded the edges for a smooth finish.  A little distress inking and the bird was all set.</p>
<p><a href="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0133ee01406c970b-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Fly free bird detail 3" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341cc77b53ef0133ee01406c970b " src="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef0133ee01406c970b-500wi" /></a> <br />For the title work, I used <strong><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;rd=1&amp;item=140462446907&amp;ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT" target="_blank" title="CB Shelby Alphabet Lower Case">CB Shelby Alphabet - lowercase</a></strong>.  I painted the letters yellow and topped them with yellow Stickles. </p>
<p>To create the banner pieces, I drew a banner using Microsoft Word.  I cut the shape out of printer paper and traced it onto some thin chipboard, the kind that comes at the back of a paper pack.  I repeated the process to get two banner shaped pieces of chipboard and then onto patterned paper to get two banner shaped pieces of patterned paper. </p>
<p>Using my scoring tool, I scored the chipboard so that the banner would fold in on itself at each end and thus have a little more dimension.  I adhered the patterned paper to each chipboard banner piece and then glued the folds of the banner in on themselves.  You have to adhere the patterned paper before folding and adhering the scored banner together.</p>
<p>I cut two small rectangular shaped pieces of patterned paper, stitched around the edges of those, adhered them to the folded banner pieces, then adhered the painted and Stickled alphas.</p>
<p>Here is a closeup of both sides of the banner pieces.</p>
<p><a href="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef013481329782970c-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Fly free bird detail 2" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341cc77b53ef013481329782970c " src="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef013481329782970c-320wi" /></a> <br /><a href="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef013481329da7970c-popup" onclick="window.open( this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0' ); return false" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Fly free bird detail" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00d8341cc77b53ef013481329da7970c " src="http://buzzandbloom.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cc77b53ef013481329da7970c-320wi" /></a></p>
<p>I then took a bright yellow gem I had lying around and threaded it onto some fishing line along with a couple other beads.  I tied a knot at the top of the beads and then ran the fishing line up opposing sides of the three dimensional bird and up into the banner pieces.  I hot glued the ends of the fishing line to the inside of one of the banner pieces.  The pink ribbon was then hot glued on each end to the inside of each of the banner pieces before I hot glued each of the banner pieces to one another. </p>
<p>This little birdie hangs by the window in my scrap room.  Had I had one on hand a prism would have been a great ornament to hang from the bottom of the bird to catch some light and throw some rainbows around the room.  I think this would be really cute in a baby's room with the baby's name maybe on the banner pieces or "sweet dreams" would be cute too.  If you have any questions on the construction of this little mobile feel free to ask!</p>
<p>Thanks for letting me share!</p>
