1. <b> It has to be in B&W </b> (sepias and light monochromatics included but no partial colors and No HDR)
2. <b> It has to be artistic in some way</b>
Notes:
3.<b> No promotion of violence, shovinism, tobacco, drugs, prostitution, alcohol </b>(unless it is done with an artistic message and not a propagandistic one). We want to keep our group rich and clean, hence the rule.
4. Nudity <b>IS</b> allowed ( I mean, imagine Michelangelo's David with his clothes on! It would be a joke, :) ). If nudity is against your beliefs, please <b>leave</b> this group and live in peace.
5. <b>No favoritisms of your friends and no deletion of your enemies when accepting a new member or deleting someone's picture. </b> Our sense of fine art should be our only guidance. If you have enemies, your weapon to fight them here is pictures, better then theirs.

Rules for removal (applies to Admins and Art Jurors)
If you think it is not "art", remove it!
<b>a) Do not remove the most recent twelve photos in the pool
b) Do not remove pictures before viewing in large format.
c) Do not remove pictures if we are down to one page in the pool
d) Do not remove picture of the day OR week (leave it for tomorrow or next week...)
e) You do not need to remove any picture at all! Maybe you like them all, :) </b>
Condition for becoming an Art Juror:
Have your picture in the pool for over 10 days. If we forget to promote you ask for it (in discussions or PM).

<b>Purpose and guidance</b>
How do we determine what is art and what not? I, myself do not consider myself an artist, but I can recognize it when I see it. I think I am qualified enough, after all I am a human being, and art is created for them, :)
We have many admins/moderators here. Becoming an admin is subject to approval by other admins and the condition that at least one of your pictures stayed in the pool for 10 days. Becoming an Art Juror gives you the power to remove pictures from the pool if you think they are not art.
If an admin decides for him/her self that your picture is not art, it will be removed from the group without any warning. Don't worry, you can re-submitt the same picture again, or a better one next time. Most of us are not great photographers, but we could have great pictures in our portfolio.
As an admin, you are able to a) invite other people's photographs to the pool and b)promote applicants (members) to Art jurors or Admins and c)remove pictures from the pool. PLEASE DO THAT, help me in administration as I do not have all the time in the world, :)
As an admin, you have the moral obligation to participate in the administration of the group (e.g. promote the group, invite images and invite your contacts to join). If you can not do this, please go to administration-members and demote yourself to Art juror. We want to have active admins only.
As an Art Juror you have the role of a moderator, which means you can b)promote PostingOnlyMembers to Art jurors and b)remove pictures from the pool
Our view: Interesting is another way of saying <b> unenjoyable </b>. This is no place for interestingness. We want to <b>fully enjoy</b> our pool.
Our purpose: <b>This group is an ongoing contest</b>. Let the best become ever-grey.
about <b>tagging </b>
tagging is optional and it can be of benefit to you only. When posting you can tag with
BWART
and in order to track how long the picture has stayed in the pool you tag with BWART+The date+Time when posted. e.g. for today (now) it would be

and later when you see that the picture has stayed for a number of days you tag with
