Game Day

2015-09-22T08:41:00.001-05:00

My new favorite game day tee thanks to the lovely ladies from Savoir-Faire. I had been off in Ireland for a few weeks and when I returned this was waiting for me! Not only is it the start of fall and football season but this little surprise made me sooo happy! Thanks ladies!

Also, check out the size of that banana tree! It was the size of the small purple plant next to it and that is how much it has grown in just one season.

Grab one online from Savoir-Faire. Click here.

Customized Shower Invitations | Thank You Cards | Party Favor Tags

2015-02-03T13:58:00.002-06:00

My baby sister is expecting a baby this summer! Before even knowing the name or the sex of the baby I started designing baby shower invitations... clearly a little excited. I have decided to add some of these designs to my Etsy shop. You can now order customized baby/wedding shower invitations. All wording can be changed so these can be used for anything. You can either purchase a digital download or a quantity of printed invites. With the digital download I will email you the final design once all wording has been changed and you can print at home! The other option is to have me do it! This option includes the selected quantity of printed customized invitations along with envelopes.

Colorado to Arizona to New Mexico and back home.

This is what I wore on New Years Eve. It was nice. Also, I went to sleep at 10.

Ski lift selfie. I had not been skiing since I was 10 and I was TERRIFIED. I was also wondering why Mitchell was bringing me up to the top of the mountain without trying out a bunny slope first.

To my surprise, it actually went well!

And back to the cabin.... 😊

Heading to Mesa Verde...

To the 4 corners...

And then we found this....

What a treasure!

Grand Canyon bound!!!!!!

And back home to see Kale!!!

A New Painting!

My Statement:

I am interested in abstracted landscapes and patterns. My work normally represents these spaces through a lens of bright, vibrant colors. Initially these patterns I work from are naturally derived and then become abstracted, allowing color to guide the space into an imaginative state. Even if the viewer does not recognize what the image is, I hope that they will see the hidden beauty of the small patterns found within.

Through these images I aim to tell an interesting story of our planet.

The Shed's First Birthday Party

2014-01-14T13:16:00.000-06:00

Donna Smith and I opened The Shed one year ago in Fayetteville, AR. The Shed is a studio and exhibition space. It is a place for artists to show work that comes out in the making process and may have come about after starting a new direction or changes in the process. When beginning any new skill set or work, it is challenging to un-hide it from the studio and put it into a public space. However, we encourage this work, still new, fresh, and vulnerable, to unveil itself at The Shed. The Shed encourages discussion, exchanging of skills and ideas, and the general merriment that occurs when bringing together artists from the region.

Visit The Shed on Facebook by clicking here.

A lot has happened throughout the year including pop-up shops and art shows. We have even hosted a few shows by artists who had never shown before! We look forward to encouraging even more first time shows in 2014! For the birthday party we asked all artists and makers who had participated throughout the year to donate something that we could raffle off. We ended up giving away around 20 fine art prints and products which was very fun. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to do this again next year for the second birthday party! :)

Here are a few pictures of my paintings and the event.

The Buzzle Ball is a new puzzle that will be released this August. I am currently working on this new product launch and decided to bring it to the event to get a few pictures of people trying to solve it. I have solved it twice by the way. Visit the Facebook page by clicking here.

2014 Wall Calendar

2013-11-19T12:18:00.000-06:00

I am feeling very prepared this year. Normally I decide to start working on a new calendar after the new year. I finally made calendars early enough and they are already in my Etsy shop. Now, how early is too early to hang up a 2014 calendar?

My Favorite Way to Start The Day

2013-11-13T16:02:00.000-06:00

Normally, I wake up in a rush. Every week day I wake up and try to get outside as quickly as possible to start burning some of Kale's puppy energy before I leave for work. Whenever we have a rainy morning, there isn't much I can do to play with Kale. So, instead I take a morning for myself. It is really a great way to start the day by opening your hips and stretching your back first thing. I sit in an office all day so this start really helps keep me feeling better throughout the day. If only I could wake up early enough to take Kale outside for a jog AND have a morning yoga flow before work.

As you can see, the second my mat hits the floor Kale is on it. I should start laying out two mats, one for each of us. :)

Even when she was a small puppy:

Hello Fall!

2013-11-07T15:50:00.000-06:00

The colors created by the changing of leaves always makes me want to get outside and practice a little landscape painting. I recently realized I am a bit rusty, I mean really rusty. Oh well, Fall is ending soon and I better squeeze in as much pumpkin flavored food and drinks as possible. :)

Me and My New Puppy!!

2013-06-04T15:44:00.000-05:00

Meet my new puppy, Kale Bowen.

I recently rescued this little gem and I couldn't be happier! Spring Street Portraits took our mommy daughter photos, and they look great! Yes, I am a puppy mom instead of a pet owner. ;) This is my very first puppy ever, and I am still very excited!

The Shed's Grand Opening

2013-01-22T19:05:00.004-06:00

The Shed is a studio and exhibition space in downtown Fayetteville, AR. Run by Donna Smith and Angelina Bowen, The Shed encourages discussion, exchanging of skills and ideas, and the general merriment that occurs when bringing together artists from the region.

In the future, we hope to host talks, workshops, and small events that encourage collaboration between other creative endeavours in downtown Fayetteville.
