This family was one of the first I photographed. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them for 7 sessions, and each time seems more wonderful than the last! Little miss is full of personality. I just couldn’t take it when she crossed her arms and huffed when we stuck her on the blanket by the grass. We had a few off and on moments, she’s such a beauty even smiling through her tears. She wasn’t all that interested in her cake, but big brother was!

Bohuslav Family {Denton County Family Photographer}

Not to long ago I ventured back to South Texas for a busy weekend of sessions. This family was a blast! The setting was on their family property, it was amazing! There were tire swings, beautiful oak trees, a wonderful ramshackle barn, and a old house with a porch swing. There was tree climbing, swinging, and fence climbing. Country sessions are so much fun!

A Glimpse: Our Snow Day {Flower Mound Texas Family Photographer}

Days like to day make me overjoyed to be a Photographer! Our family moved to South Texas from Iowa three years ago. Ever since then, everytime there is a chill in the air Jayden and Trevor would beg for it to snow. When we moved to Flower Mound they knew it was likely to happen sometime. And a chill in the air today is an understatement! They were beyond excited this morning to look out the window and see the beauty of a winter wonderland! They were antsy to go out and play in the “snow.” Cameron even came chasing me out the door barefoot. He turned back around mighty quick! No amount of explaining that it was ice and not snow would convince Jayden and Trevor otherwise. They were ready to have a snowball fight, build snowmen, and make snow angels. Since it’s pretty much impossible to make a snowman out of ice, they will have to keep that wish for another day. But we did have a whole lot of fun and stayed out until our fingers and noses could take no more. I missed Iowa winters for a very brief moment while we were playing. Very briefly! I’ll will take these occasional winter storms and cross my fingers that it gets warm again next week! It definitely feels a lot more like Christmas with a little white stuff on the ground!

Mackenzie – 2013 {Hallettsville Texas Senior Photographer}

When I first started planning Mackenzie’s session I was excited to find out that she lived on a horse ranch and wanted photos with her horse. I was equally excited when she told me she also wanted some images in her prom dress. Love that dress! It was very full and perfect for twirling! Photographing Mackenzie was a breeze! She very naturally fell into poses and didn’t need much direction. It was a beautiful day even though it was pretty chilly and windy. I think she was pretty happy when we shot the last few images with her letter jacket.

Cloudy Day Confessions {Victoria Texas Photographer}

I have a confession, well actually a few…

I am completely obsessed with the sky, especially the clouds in the sky. I always have been. If you are in the car with me and I see a beautiful sky be prepared to pull over, because I will want to stop and take a picture of it. When I was a kid I was always looking to find shapes in the sky.
I still look at the sky and see shapes of things the clouds form. The other day I saw a hippo, a dinosaur, and cross.
It makes my day when my almost 3 year old points out a pretty sunset or pretty clouds.
I see beauty in everyone and everything around me.
I have to look really hard sometimes to see the beauty in myself. I’m working on that though. I’m my own worst critic.
My hope for everyone, especially the people I photograph, is that they see the beauty in themselves that I do.

So take a moment today to relax and look up at the sky and imagine what you can accomplish if you could put your fears and self doubt aside. Then take action!

Hawkins Family {Cuero Texas Family Photographer}

The evening of the Hawkin’s family session was beautiful! The session was photographed on their amazing ranch property. I was so excited when I found out they wanted to include a bottle calf in the photographs. What a great memory for this family! We had lots of fun, the boys seemed to enjoy being boys and climbing trees and fences. And kiddos in cowboy boots… Love it!
