What happened to Sept?? Time flies.. the older I get the faster time goes !!! I made a quick video of how to make a slider card... these are so much fun and the possibilities are endless. Here are a few that we made in club !

I needed a card for my Brother In Law's birthday party today. He is in a band so I dug out my retired stamps and paper... I wish I could get more of this dsp!!! I also wanted to try this new book binding gate fold. It was really easy . This is my proto-type, so when I make a few more I will post them with the directions. I think it is fun to make cards and let the Designer Series Paper be the Star! I did not get the stamp set that went with this paper... To be honest I only got the paper to see what it was like! I cut the crab out of the paper.. and used the Hello Friend from the Charming Duck Pond stamp set.( which is now on the last chance list at a reduced price) This DSP is also on the Last Chance List.. so when it is gone, it is gone! Wasn't sure what to call this fold... so I named it a Slim Z fold... little hint here... when you put your Z part on your card base, use your envelope as your guide, so your card will fit!

On Page 22 of the Annual catalog , at the bottom, there are 22 layout ideas.

I made a mock up of each of them. I used my retired card stock and made myself a visual. Then I made a card using that mock up.

Elegant Tag Topper Punch

I saw what Connie Stewart did and had to try this! Here is another way to use your Elegant tag Topper Punch! I love using punches, don't you? They add so much to your cards, and this card was so easy to do! I haven't made a video in quite some time, and some of the new technology has me stumped.. but I am getting there!

Good snowy morning from Michigan! The small amount of snow that we got looks pretty, and I am happy to see it, for a day! Now we can jump ahead to warm sping days!

I have been busy in my "Ink Pad" making messes, only to clean them up and "re-mess" it up again!

I have been having good time playing with the new Bee My Valentine Bundle from the Jan to April Mini catalog!

Merry Christmas Everyone! And a very Happy New Year! I have not been very attentive to my blog and I sure hope to improve! My husband will FIANALLY be retiring at the end of the year and we will be off this crazy Swing shift he has been working! Finally some continuity in sleeping patterns should make life a little less crazy... but I know that Life will continue to throw us curve balls. Hopefully we will cope with them as they are thrown!

Wow! Can't believe I have neglected my blog for such a long time!

Time moves so fast, I really can't say what I have been doing that has taken up all of my time, I just know it feels like I have been busy every minute!

This is one of my favorite folds! Its called a book binding fold!

You start with a piece of cardstock 4 1/4 x 11 and score it at 4 1/4 and again at 5 1/2 . I could not find the right piece of dsp for the background on my pale papaya card stock, so I took one of my Texture chic Memories and More Cards and envelopes ( page 136 in the anual catalog ) and cut it to 4 x 4 and 1 x 4 .

The stamp set is from the July-Dec catalog, I combined 2 sets, Hello Harvest on page 50 and Kindest Gnomes on page 43. The ribbon is Early Expresso Faux Suede trim on page 145, and the open leaf trinket can be found on page 83 of the July - Dec catalog. I colored the cute little gnome with my blends, and had a good time doing so!

Here are a few more of the "stretch gate fold" I showed you the other day! I would be happy to show you how and share the directions, just let me know! I used the Rustic Harvest Suite for the first card. It can be found on page 48-50 of the July to Dec catalog. ( I CASED) this card from France Martin. She is so talented!

For this card I used the Bewitching Bundle and the Best wishes stamp set found on pg 55 and pg 57 of the same catalog. The designer Series paper is from the Gingham Cottage Suite on pgs 58-59 in that catalog.

I got out my Merry Merlot cardstock and ink, which hasn't been used in a while! I also played with a new corner punch. The stamp set I used was Lovely and Lasting, from the anual catalog.

I used my Merry Merlot stamp n write marker and my shaded spruce marker to "color the stamp" and then stamped the image.

The punch is Very Best Trio punch. It is on page 68 of the July -Dec catalog.

I think this is called a double gate fold! France Martin and other Stampin Up! Demos have had them on their blogs, so I gave it try. They are relatively easy an I sure have enjoyed making them. If you would like the directions leave me a comment and I will share them with you.

I made this one for my family in Upstate Western NY, I 'm sure they will like it! I made some fall ones, a Halloween one and I have idea for some for Christmas.

Here are a couple of cards I did for a challenge. They were pieces I had laying around on my messy desk. I don't think my desk is ever not messy.... except for when I HAVE to clean if off for classes! Are you a messy creator , or are you organized? Not me, it seems my best cards come from Kaos! Greetings my Friends!

Do you have a pet that likes to help you?

This little sweetheart has been keeping me on my toes! She is such a helper...(.NOT!) I can't tell the number of messes she has made, while trying to be my best helper!

Its a good thing she is cute!

Here are a few cards I did manage to make while avoiding the "Beast" as my hubby calls her!

This was a challenge card for my upline Julie ... I don't usually do the challenges but I had these pieces on my desk and they just "fell" into place!

These are note cards and a sweet box to hold them! I think it would make a great hostess gift at Thanksgiving time! Thank You Mary Knabe for the ideas and directions!

And last but not least Its halloween time again, time for the "cutesy" Halloween as I am not big into spooky things!

Lilo Kitten is sleeping so I will now go clean up "our" mess, so she can help me again later!

back to basics

My attempt at making a back to basics video. Please ignore the speech pattern in the beginning. I knew what I wanted to say I just couldn't make the words come out. But here we go. I hope this helps some of you just starting out. The next video will talk more about adding layers and adding stamps. But today was just about how to get your cardstock started.
