It's been ages since I last blogged and I think I can no longer keep silent. It's the era of online information and I (alongside many others) think that governments should stop persecuting whistle blowers on "legal grounds" of sedition or seditious content.

It is high time we acknowledge that there will be a revolution among the people and it won't be small.

Our time has come and our voices have to echo in unison. We cannot keep silent against the evils and the continuous shit (if I may) that all our governments have spewed at us. We can see through the evils of the puppeteers and the marionettes should be exposed so as to topple the ones at the top of the art. It is an art if you may. A ~~fucking~~ fine one.

It is high time, people. It is high time we all stop being so ignorant, so superficial and shallow. Enough of so-called "reality tv". You want reality?? Take a fucking look outside your windows.

Hello from me, it's been awhile :)

Progeria or also known as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome is a genetic disorder or condition that is typically characterized by the dramatic and rapid appearance of significant aging that starts during the patients’ early childhood. Children with progeria grow more slowly than other children their age normally would and do not gain much weight at the normal rate which is one of the signs of failure to thrive although children with progeria usually look normal when they are born and also, during early stages of infancy.

The prominent signs in progeria can be seen from their features; protruding ears that may look like that of pixies; they have small chins, thin noses that resemble birds’ beaks, thin lips, and very prominent eyes. This genetic disorder also causes aged-looking skin, baldness due to hair loss or in scientific terms, alopecia, a loss of fat and adipose tissues under their skin (subcutaneous fat) and also, joint abnormalities. The development of motor movement or skills of children affected with this genetic disorder are however, not affected as they are able to stand, walk, sit and do things on a daily basis well. Progeria also does not interfere with children’s intellectual development and children with progeria are known to have bright and cheerful personalities and sharp minds.

Progeria is derived from ‘geras’ which means old age in Greek. It is assumed to typically affect one in four million newborns around the world. As progeria is extremely rare, not much has been hear about it before and society is usually not aware that this genetic disease or genetic disorder even exists. Doctor Jonathan Hutchinson first described and logged down this disease in the year 1886 and then in the year 1904, Doctor Hastings Gilford also did the same. The disease is named after the two of them as they were the ones who first mentioned about it and left an impact in the medical society. Coming back to the signs of progeria; within the short period of a year, children with progeria have slower growth rates and soon become shorter than most children their age.

Children with progeria are also known to be sufferers of symptoms old people usually suffer from which include hips dislocations, severe progressive cardiovascular diseases and also stiffness in their joints. Thankfully, children that have progeria are not known to have osteoporosis or cataracts which are symptoms atypical of that of an old person. In attempts to help with the life threatening cardiovascular complications that are caused by progressive atherosclerosis, some children affected with progeria have to undergo coronary artery bypass surgery and/or angioplasty. Death comes morbidly early for progeria sufferers as most die at an average of 13 years normally from strokes or heart attacks.

What are the causes of progeria? NHGRI researchers combined their knowledge with researchers at the Progeria Research Foundation in the New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities and also, with the University of Michigan in 2003 and thus, discovered that progeria is caused by a minute point mutation in a singular gene called the lamin A or LMNA. The genetic mutation appears in nearly all the cases to occur in sperm right before conception. The substitution of only one base pair among the estimated 25 000 DNA base pairs that form the LMNA gene is found to arise in almost all the cases of recorded progeria sufferers and is amazing. This gene codes for two proteins which are the lamin A and the lamin C; both which are known to play significant parts in stabilizing the inner membrane of the cell nucleus. Researchers found that the mutation responsible for progeria causes the LMNA gene to create an abnormal kind of the lamin A proteins; in laboratory tests involving cells extracted from progeria patients. That single abnormal protein may destabilize the cell’s nuclear membrane that might be injurious to the tissues that are subjected to aggressive physical force on a routine basis like the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems.

However, at least half a dozen other genetic disorders which include two not so common forms of muscular dystrophy have been shown to share the same common mutations in the LMNA gene. Most scientists that are involved in aging in the genetics department usually use the research on the underlying genetics of the progeria prototype in order to discover how the aging process works. Sufferers of Hutchinson-Gilford progeria have a very severe hardening of the arteries or rather severe arteriosclerosis that starts right from childhood. The condition increases terribly, the probabilities of experiencing heart attacks or even strokes at very young ages. These conditions may become life-threatening for certain individuals with this type of syndrome.

Progeria thankfully is very rare and only 1 in 4 million newborns worldwide have been known to suffer from it. Only slightly over 130 cases have been reported and recorded in scientific journals since the first time the genetic disorder was first described in 1886. People with progeria inherit this disorder by one copy of the altered gene in each cell which is small enough to cause the disorder. If a person wants to know if he/she has Hutchinson-Gilford progeria, they have to be diagnosed since before the age of one as progeria is a significantly noticeable disorder and children with progeria do not develop normally and have an average lifespan of only 13 years old, sadly.

How should society deal with these disorders? According to Ashley Hegi (deceased); the society should not judge people who suffer from progeria and they should not stare as people with progeria are no different from others, except that they have very aged looks for their age and bald heads. Societies should also be more aware of this genetic disorder although it is rare for their knowledge so they would know how to handle it and also how to treat a person with progeria. As people with progeria do not have lower intellects than a normal human being, they like to be talked to normally and lead normal lives although sometimes it may be painful to do so. They need a lot of positivity in their lives to encourage them to continue going on despite their disorder and all of its setbacks. As progeria sufferers are known for their bright and sunny dispositions, the people around them should be supportive too and their families should be trained and well learned on how to handle them with care and how to provide good and stable emotional support for them.

What should researchers and society do to help progeria sufferers? They should continue researching for cures for this disorder as little to no drugs can help with this disorder especially that it is such a rare genetic condition. Research should be done on the LMNA gene and also on the protein Lamin A as these two might be clues as to how the aging process happens so rapidly in progeria sufferers. Geneticists should pay more attention to this particular disorder as aforementioned; might be a key to the aging process and all its setbacks including links to cardiovascular diseases and so on. Progeria albeit rare should not be overlooked.

Why I support halal/kosher slaughter as an animal activist.

First things first, let me get some things straight. I am not a Muslim, neither am I a Jew. But I do support kosher/halal slaughter instead of normal inhumane ways.

Denmark has just issued a ban on the methods of kosher/halal slaughter. So, killing a perfectly healthy baby giraffe (Marius) in public is permissible but a perfectly healthy method of slaughtering animals isn't. Look at the bigotry oozing out there. I can feel it seeping out of their pores.

Despite resistance from RSPCA (a respectable animal welfare organisation) and many other groups, the ban has been called for. It really is anti-Semitic isn't it; anti-Muslim as well. Where is the freedom of speech, and religion that Europe boasts about so much?? So they only allow freedom AS LONG as it means religion is NOT involved?? There is no extremism/barbarism here, really. Only from the side of the ministers who have been involved in the banning of the production of these kinds of meat (kosher/halal).

Now, to be unbiased so as not rock the same boat as these idiots, I will show you the kosher/halal methods of slaughter and then the normal way of slaughter.

The Halal method

With the halal method of slaughter, there was not change in the EEG graph for the first three seconds after the incision was made, indicating that the animal did not feel any pain from the cut itself. This is not surprising. Often, if we cut ourselves with a sharp implement, we do not notice until some time later. The following three seconds were characterised by a condition of deep sleep-like unconciousness brought about by the draining of large quantities of blood from the body. Thereafter the EEG recorded a zero reading, indicating no pain at all, yet at that time the heart was still beating and the body convulsing vigorously as a reflex reaction of the spinal cord. It is this phase which is most unpleasant to onlookers who are falsely convinced that the animal suffers whilst its brain does actually no longer record any sensual messages.

The Western method

Using the Western method, the animals were apparently unconscious after stunning, and this method of dispatch would appear to be much more peaceful for the onlooker. However, the EEG readings indicated severe pain immediately after stunning. Whereas in the first example, the animal ceases to feel pain due to the brain starvation of blood and oxygen – a brain death, to put it in laymen’s terms – the second example first causes a stoppage of the heart whilst the animal still feels pain. However, there are no unsightly convulsions, which not only means that there is more blood retention in the meat, but also that this method lends itself much more conveniently to the efficiency demands of modern mass slaughter procedures. It is so much easier to dispatch an animal on the conveyor belt, if it does not move.

A friend did a documentary on slaughterhouses in the early 90's. He saw cows on an electric grid recieve a jolt. Workers then went through with hammers to bash in the skulls of those not dead. He instantly became a vegetarian. Kosher methods were created with the best interests of the animals in mind. (Taking as a given that man's status at the top of the food chain does not impart the right to cause extra suffering.) The knife must be free of nicks so that the blade moves as fast and cleanly as possible. There may be more humane ways to kill a cow or chicken, but I doubt they are cost effective from a mass-production standpoint. Kosher meat is double or triple the price of non-kosher. Perhaps you could find a rancher who would be willing to let you kill a cow as gently as possible (wait til it's asleep? or give a gentle sedative?). But from a practical standpoint, an animal slaughtered kosher is likely to have suffered less than the non-kosher one.

I can't speak for Halal slaughter, but I do know about Kosher slaughter of animals. The "Shochet" - slaughterer - uses a special knife which has to be incredibly sharp and completely smooth (any nicks in the blade might tear the animal's flesh on the way down and cause pain). The knife should be able to cut smoothly and cleanly through the neck. The cut is made in a specific place in the neck, and although death isn't instantaneous (no method of slaughter is), the animal loses consciousness immediately due to the sudden drop of blood pressure in the head. Complete death results shortly after. As a comparison, let's look at some other methods of slaughter which are used. The "Captive Bolt Gun". Imagine a normal gun, but the bullet has a string attached to it so it flies out of the barrel, but can be reset and re-loaded again leaving nothing behind. Now take an animal, press this up against its skull and fire. Bolt goes into skull and pulled out again. Requires 4-5 shots normally to cause complete death, during which animal is in agony. Electrocution. Let's compare this with human executions in the electric chair. There have been cases where people being killed in the chair have caught fire and had smoke coming from their heads while still showing signs of life. Witnesses have been sick from the stench of burning flesh. Some researchers have said that being killed by electrocution would kill you by oxygen starvation (you couldn't breathe due to paralysis from the electricity), while at the same time being burnt alive. So much for a painless death! As long as people wish to eat animals (don't get me wrong, I'm a steak lover), we have to kill them first. And I truly believe that "Shechitah" - the method of slaughter for Kosher food - is the least painful for the animal concerned.

Studies have been conducted in which monitors were placed on the brain of a cow being slaughtered using shechitah (kosher slaughter) and it turns out that it is actually 100% painless. another interesting note is that 2500 years ago, when the rules of kosher were made, it was said that the animal must have split hooves and chew it's cud. interestingly, now 2500 years later we know a great deal of biology and it turns out that the only species of animals that have split hooves and chew their cud, also just happen to have a certain artery that goes directly to their brain, as opposed to their heart as in all other animals (including humans). when this vein is cut it will be a painless death, because the animal will be instantly unconscious, whereas if you tried to slaughter any other animal in this method it would cause a lot of suffering. so, to answer that question "would YOU like to be shot in the head or have your throat cut?" well, i being human would prefer a shot in the head for the least painless death, but if i was a cow, or any other animal with split hooves and a cud, i'd be all for the throat slitting for the painless death. also, to clear up the misconception about the animal still being alive while bleeding to death with shechitah - this is true that the animal may still be living, but with the brain entirely unconscious it still does not experience any of the pain of death. the food industry will do whatever necessary to reduce cost, but if you truly care about the well being of living things, buy kosher.

I'll let these points speak for me. I'm not alone. Many other rational activists believe that kosher/halal meat is better than normally-slaughtered meat. For Denmark to have banned the more humane ways of slaughtering animals without further research shows how "shallow" the people there are (those who called for the ban). Also, Britain should really do more in-depth research regarding this topic instead of being all dumb about it and banning it because of what some irrational activist groups are saying.

I agree that there are certain kosher/halal slaughterhouses that do not use proper equipment. Shut them down instead of banning them in whole. There is no point in making a huge controversy out of this. I understand that we all want these animals to die in the least painful ways possible. Therefore, research should be done first using scientific methods (EEGs etc.) before causing ruckuses about it.

All our news feeds have been littered with Teresa Kok's funny video and then, not long after, news of it being slanderous.

It's strange isn't it, how our country's leaders find fault in such minute details like a video that was meant to be purely satirical and not just realize the motives behind stuff like that??

Firstly, Malaysians need to get a funny bone. Secondly, to attack one's person is a great fallacy, dear UMNO cronies. If you want to attack Teresa Kok for her video, do so but with a little more dignity please. It's an ad hominem to start attacking her for her name.

I have been so appalled by the state of the country that blogging seemed like a hugely, strangely, overwhelming task. They want to condemn Teresa for her satirical video which actually rang with truth but they allow the state of the country to worsen. They keep thinking that us Malaysians are stupid enough to have wool pulled over our eyes time and time again.

The police are now asked to investigate the "Onederful Malaysia" video. The police are so free to conduct such investigations and lose track of what they really are supposed to do; protecting citizens and ensuring peace in the country. My bag got snatched from me in 2012 and until today, NOTHING can be recovered and the snatch thieves weren't caught. It was such a traumatic experience and I wouldn't even wish it upon the people I despise the most. Why can't the police deal with issues like these?? Why can't they deal with issues like abuse and more important things?? When people report abuse, it's automatically domestic and has to go to a different office altogether.

Some Malays of this country also have to stop being so butthurt and claiming that every single tom, dick (ooh I said a bad word, immolate me, right??) and harry are out to get them and their religion. They'd rather vote for people like Felixia Yeap and her wrapped up self because she is "oh so sweet" and vixen-like. And UMNO, you don't represent all the Malays in Malaysia because most of them are extremely intelligent and see past your nonsensical acts.

Another thing I'd like to mention is 'Anwar'. Look, we're not stupid alright?? We know HE was the one who truly started playing racial politics all those years ago. But fuck us right?? We have no leader now and are desperate for a change. It's not like we can find anyone better anyway. We're in such desperation that anyone proposing a change for the betterment of Malaysia would do. I mean, if anyone proposes such huge changes for the country, of course, we'd jump at the idea of it immediately. We used to be a picky lot. Badawi was too cowardly and calm. Mahathir was too tyrannical. But now that we've seen THE ultimate WORST, I guess all we can do is hope for a better one. It's no longer a war of who's going to make a better prime minister. It's more like a war of survival for us other than the Bumiputeras in Malaysia, thanks to the cronyism of the current government who BLATANTLY promote racial politics and play it down to the core.

If you're planning a Malaysian genocide, consider it done. Just DO NOT complain about a brain drain after that and all the other things you complain about. If we're that bad a bunch as non-Bumis, we'd rather take off than listen to you telling us how bad we are and how we're "stealing your economy" and shit like that.

I'm going to rant a lot in this post, so if you don't enjoy rants, it's best you leave now.

I came across this shamefully, unbelievably trashy article on the the "Elite Daily" site and I was appalled at the brashness of the woman who wrote it. I have nothing against other people's differing moral values; I'm no moral police after all BUT when you use YOUR words as a representation of something in whole, and you actually are writing about a general demographic population, it is most certainly not right. This woman who goes by the pseudonym of JLin or 'Trophy Wife' thinks she represents the women of Y-generation.

I want to strongly oppose that. I think she thinks of herself as a feminist, fighting for equal rights, a unicorn and also a woman who is "bold" enough to speak out what other women are ashamed off.

Firstly, Trophy Wife, you are NOT a unicorn. Unicorn women I think do not sleep with their dates on the first date. What on earth are you advocating for???? Equal rights between the sexes??

If she TRULY is fighting for equal rights, WHY on earth does she want to be a trophy wife who is focused on marrying a rich man just so she does not have to work?? WOW. It's no wonder men don't respect us as women sometimes. Women like her just seriously tarnish our gender.

I know I may be over-berating but I got SO ANNOYED at her articles and I don't understand how someone like her can be published. I am in NO way jealous of her success or anything of that sort. But she claims to write what women think but do not have the "balls to say", apparently. Below is her little sachet of words underneath her published articles.

The COP problem. (Malaysia)

Before I start my long rant, meet Sheeva. She'll make you smile. She's my baby iguana. Named after the Mortal Kombat character.

What our Malaysian police really are, are bullies. Big fat PB and J doughnut-eating ones.

I have reasons aplenty as to why I say this.

Why I'd say our Malaysian cops are not doing their jobs right.

1. The N case. My friend, N (an international student) was around the KLCC area one fine day. He just so happened to park in a wrong spot. To his dismay, the police came to "talk to him". They told him to get rid of the Malay friends he had with him. So, as soon as the Malay friends were out of earshot distance, they asked him, "how much??". And his response was, "I'm sorry, I don't understand". Why of course, in this poor lad's eyes, he had done no wrong. So they set the ball rolling and in the end, arrested N for no apparent reason just because he simply didn't want to bribe them for something he had not done. His reason was, "I am Muslim. Bribery is frowned upon in Islam" and trust me, that line angered the police to hell and back. (The policemen were Muslims themselves.) To cut a terribly long story short, the police locked him up for 2 weeks and he lost a total of more than 10 kilos in that short span of time and his mum had to fly in to "beg and grovel for mercy"; they were horridly rude to her though. He lost a total of 10 000 Malaysian Ringgit and more than 10 kilos of body mass. He was traumatized. I can go on and on about basic human rights which N was completely and utterly denied of but that would be rather time-consuming.

2. The police are usually not allowed into private property without warrants. I was also raised up by very intelligent people who told me about 'human rights'.

This happened 4 years ago when we were having a jolly good hangout with friends and music. (No international students involved here.) The police came around 2 am and started yelling at us from the gate. My friend handled the crisis pretty well and told all of us to stay in. She went out to talk to him. He told her that he got complains from our neighbours (our neighbours had not bee around for more than 2 weeks, it was a student community and we were almost the only ones left there, it was a ghost town, practically) stating that we were making too much noise.

He radioed for backup (cowardly, of course) and almost instantly, a few more cops appeared. They raided our house, demanding for our ICs and every other documentation we had on us.

Human right number one. The police cannot barge into a private house WITHOUT a warrant.

Human right number two. The police cannot simply confiscate OR demand for our ICs without warrants AS we are in a private house.

Human right number three. Women are not allowed to follow male officers back to ANY police station before 6 am. Women are not to be arrested unless there is a female officer present at the time of arrest.

This stupid cop just said, "Ikut saya. Jangan buat hal. Saya kata awak ikut, ikut. Jangan nak buat kecoh."

Translation: Follow me. Don't cause a scene. I tell you to follow me, just follow me. Don't create trouble.

And the majority of us in the house were girls. With our ICs confiscated. For no reason. I requested for a female officer to be present. He told me, "we don't have one at the moment. Not our problem."

Such attitude. They only stopped harassing us when one of my friend's boyfriends came and helped us out by making a call. (To a person of higher authority I presume.) That was a rather traumatizing incident too. The policemen looked bored and very horny (if I may say); most of us were girls. You can be the judge of it.

3. I have been stopped various times at roadblocks especially around the Kuala Dipang and Kampar areas. I think the police there have very shallow mentalities and are oftentimes bored and think with their little heads down there. I produce my IC along with everything else necessary and THEY STILL STOP ME FOR A LITTLE CHAT. I usually don't get down from the car and they hover around, asking me questions that are not job-related and also rather too personal. I loathe their existence. I always felt a little or rather very disturbed by that particular group of policemen around the Kuala Dipang, Kampar area.

4. Another foreign friend of mine got beaten up mighty bad on National Day. He was with his Malaysian friends when that happened and they couldn't help him. They were overpowered. They took him to the nearest police station to make a police report however but they told him it was his fault. "Itu masalah kamu bukan kitorang punya pasal." The Malaysian mentality.

You see, I'm not saying ALL coppers are bad per se. It's just that the majority of them really give ALL of them a bad name here. It's too bad, really.

I have severe trust issues when it comes to cops. And these are my reasons. I have many more but these could sum everything up in a nutshell.

The beauties of corruption have hit them hard and to rid THAT problem, we need an "ethnic cleansing" sort of, if I may say.

Anyhow, back to the story line. I digress too much. Why is the world shattering in all its glory?? The world, believe it or not, is controlled by ONE group. A certain group whose identities are never and can never be blown. An elite group of elitists who are really the puppeteers steering their way in the world's highways through marionettes.

I'm pretty sure you've heard it all. Freemasonry, the Illuminati, Reptilians, etc. But if those are just wickedly cool conspiracy theories, then WHAT is the real truth?? Truth be said, the real terrorists aren't really the people from the Middle East. Or the Muslims. Who infiltrates other nations with such veto powered mindsets and force?? Who controls the whole of the global economy (without their own national banking system) and tells others WHAT terrorism is?? Who controls most of the mass media (thank goodness for the Internet and freedom of speech) and creates subliminal messages in every dimension possible??

Let's start with Syria. Since the end of World War II, the Americans have tried VERY hard to overthrow more than 50 governments. They have built their reigns in quite a few populist nations now. What with all that ~~bullshit~~ about Kony and "military intervention" in Uganda and stuff like that. Like Sonia Blade from Mortal Kombat says, "If I need backup, I will radio for it." You think those "poor besotted" countries need janitors or nannies to clear their messes and wipe off sour milk with clean bibs?? Nobody really likes their dirty lined washed in public. The mass media portrays Muslims as terrorists and such. S is from Pakistan. The Taliban movement is pretty rampant there and bombs are quite "the norm" there, these days. The U.S apparently asked Korea for nuke help and they rescinded, but of course. With all their nosy military interventions in the past century, more civilians have died than the targeted groups. You really think Syria needs the Americans' 'military intervention'?? "Go home U.S, you're drunk" would be the perfect phrase for a witty meme. I have to go slow on my thoughts. The analyses of all these happenings are like one big clump of neurotic mass ready to implode on itself {more like a nuclear fusion than a nuclear fission} to Brian (my brain if you still don't know who he is) and he is currently still handling it rather well.

The U.S is actually handling genocide in a very polite manner. They always assure their people that "civilians will be taken care of". Why of course, they are taken care of alright. Trust me on this, the U.S use a 'divide and conquer tactic' every single time. How do they do it?? Rebels versus the good side. When the rebels strike, the U.S then rushes in with all their niceness and try to defend the people of the country, while apparently trying to minimize civilian deaths and preserve the civilian infrastructure. What they really do is play good cop, bad cop. Really, it's not that difficult to gauge their steps. (If a girl like ME could anticipate their moves, anyone can. It's like a game of chess.) Like my dad says all the time, anticipate. If you're skeptical about what I'm saying, watch a tonne of American movies/series. Rest assured, you'd understand their good cop, bad cop strategies. They play the turn friend into foe game. They play the divide and conquer game all too well.

Step one: Deploy forces, impregnate the target country with troops.

Step two: Divide the country into friend and foe, pick a side.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. So, these are the tactics the U.S military uses with orders from their uppers.

Why Mortal Kombat in my title?? Analysing game plans would help anyone with understanding military strategies. Also, the Mortal Kombat movies were super fantastic. How could I have missed them :/ I missed sheer awesomeness, awesomeness since 1995. I swear, watch them, you won't regret. Three issues that have been on my noggin'; acid attacks on women, Harlequin Ichthyosis and rude Chinese people.

There was a huge debate on Harlequin Ichthyosis and whether it is a result of uranium-depletion. Or depleted uranium as the scientists call it, DU. A few rather assertive articles have come up on it, the best one written by Dave Lindorff. Lindorff claims that DU DOES cause the Harlequin-type-Ichthyosis in fetuses, like what Agent Orange did.

What is Harlequin Ichthyosis, you may wonder?? Let me stimulate your senses with these pictures. They are TRAGIC and you might not be able to finish your meal (if you're reading this while eating) so be forewarned.

These are not alien spawn, just very unfortunate babies. So, coming back to the point, the BIG debate, is Harlequin Ichthyosis caused or heightened by DU?? Does DU really play such an imminent role in altering human genes (the ABCA12 gene which, if mutated, causes several health conditions including Harlequin Ichthyosis) and is it really that great a catalyst??

The other big question that pops up again and again; does the United States really care about the well being of other countries?? Military assistance in Uganda, the Americans trying to catch and defame Phony Kony, being all sympathetic with war-struck countries but really, do they care?? We live in a world where everything is warped and although we have the Internet as a medium of information transfer, the information we can obtain is still highly questionable. However, with this being said, the rise in Harlequin Ichthyosis has been spotted more in Iraq and Afghanistan of recent than in any other country.

Harlequin Ichthyosis is a type of skin disease in which the skin of the sufferer hardens because of the thickening of the keratin layer in fetal human skin. The skin of a sufferer would have large diamond-shaped scales and would tend to have a red hue. These sufferers are more prone to infections and bleed at birth. They rarely survive. This is caused by a mutation in the ABCA12 gene in humans. To Biology freaks, the ABCA 12 gene is located on the long arm of the 2nd chromosome.

So, apparently, the Pentagon is sending out flame-agents or flamers (the Internet slang for harsh-trolling if I may) to flame on articles which write about how DU causes Harlequin Ichthyosis. They call themselves misinformation operatives. But of course. Who'd wanna look like the bad guy, right?? These Pentagon cyber 'warriors' often use ad hominems or red herrings to draw attention away from facts, using character assassination etc.

DU is used heavily in weaponry and consists of U-236 and U-238 and has been capitalized by the Pentagon. DU is used in warheads because they make ideal penetrators that can pierce thick armory and dense concrete bunkers.

"Accordingly it has found its way into 30 mm machine gun ammunition, especially that used by the A-10 Warthog ground-attack fighter planes used extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan (as well as Kosovo). It is also the warhead of choice for Abrams tanks and is also reportedly used in GBU-28 and the later GBU-37 bunker buster bombs, each of which can have 1-2 tons of the stuff in its warhead.

DU is also used as ballast in cruise missiles, and this burns up when a missile detonates its conventional explosive. Some cruise missiles are also designed to hit hardened targets and reportedly feature DU warheads, as does the AGM-130 air-to-ground missile, which carries a one-ton penetrating warhead. In addition, depleted uranium is used in large quantities in the armor of tanks and other equipment. Why of course, the Pentagon argues that the usage of DU really doesn't have any hazards. Why should the innocent Afghan and Iraqi children have to suffer because of the Americans' callous ways of dealing with things?? By the way, most of these cases were reported in Fallujah. So once again, who are the real perpetrators here??

DU causes many health conditions including Harlequin Ichthyosis. The definite rise in the number of cases of this health condition DEFINITELY points to something. Think about it. Scaruffi says that a scientist supporting the motion to this great debate (Gunther)'s work is sloppy. But really, HI is not genetic as these babies are being born into families that have ZERO medical history of HI. I could go on and on, but being a bore is not what I was cut out to be.

Seriously. Don't believe me?? Think again. That rat is more cunning and conniving than a mongoose trying to trap a snake or a rodent.

That man knows exactly what he's doing, where he's headed to and he has an ultimate goal, an ultimate target to which he is working towards. And we all don't know what he has in store for us. Let's call him, He Who Shall Not Be Named. HWSNBN in short.

The cops play the blame game. It's the best time to sit back and watch this melodrama with a huge bag of popcorn.

The cops are blaming the repeal of the EO (Emergency Ordinance) for the crazy increase in gun violence in Malaysia. When was the law repealed?? In 2011, by HWSNBN himself!! I think HWSNBN will blame the people for the repeal of the EO. He would say, "Oh the rakyat wanted the EO abolished" and so on and so forth. He loves to play word games doesn't he now.

According to the associate professor of Criminology of the Malaysian Science University (USM), HWSNBN had indeed taken the public's words out of context, to his own convenience. What the professor said was, "We advised the government to repeal the Restricted Residences Act but to revise the EO."

"We should have a similar law to the EO but it must come with stringent checks and balances so that there is no abuse," he added.

See?? Repeal the what?? The Restricted Residences Act and REVISE the EO. Not repeal the EO completely. According to sources who must not be mentioned, when those criminals were freed without trial two years ago, they were released on one condition. They had to vote for HWSNBN in the upcoming elections as a sort of pay-off if I may say?? Well, these are only rumours but I must say, HWSNBN is quite capable of doing that.

You don't think HWSNBN wouldn't do ANYTHING at all for money?? After AMMB Holdings founder, Bahrain-born Hussain Ahmad Najadi was shot dead just last week, HWSNBN pledged to boost resources for fighting crime. The keyword here, boost resources. Where on earth does the money really go to?? He just puts it down in the ledger book, "this sum of money for so and so" and what he really does is pocket a large amount of it. Just like any of the other BN members. For instance, scandalous Ng Yen Yen and her 1.8 million MR spent on creating that Facebook page.

LOL. With all the ministers speaking out one by one now, I really want to see where all this is heading to. We have Zaid Ibrahim, Pak Lah himself and the ex chief of police on the 'dark side' now. Let's see who else the opposition can recruit.

Malaysia is becoming a warzone. A democratic nation?? My buttcrack. It is a monarchy, a dictator-peasant authoritarian government-ruled state. Where religion and law have integrated so badly that the police are more focused on pouncing on people who they think or "interpret as" going against the Malaysian Islamic law. Why emphasize the Malaysian Islamic Law?? Because these people who possess power use religion as an attack ground for the public. Missiles are fired wrongly, religion misinterpreted sorely and they're really distorting it through their Nazi-coloured glasses (forgive the blatant pun.)

Malaysia, a country so beautiful. Well-known for traffic jams, KL twin towers, good food, night life, tourist spots, beautiful people and..

CORRUPTION.

Bam!! I said it. Yup. Corrupt, narcissistic politicians who are demi-Hitlers if I may say?? Or wannabe Karl Marxes??

Malaysia is so renown now for all the flak our leaders have drawn for us. Leaders who care more about lining their pockets than caring about the welfare of the people. Leaders who blindside people, contorting the beautiful religion of Islam along the way, just to draw followers into their thick juicy webs of lies. Utterly shameful.

Leaders like Mahathir who actually is beginning to resemble Hosni Mubarak; leaders like our very own dear prime minister who fancies himself a (cream pie) winner on "Who wants to be a millionaire??".

With police like ours who care more about arresting an innocent Malay woman who was defamed on the Internet just because of her love for dogs. Just in the last week, so many shootings have been taking place and Malaysia is not a gun-encouraging country so THAT is rather boggling. But really, those cases are not as important as Maznah's case. Just because she loves dogs and her video was sorely misinterpreted by religious zealots and "pious" people.

Malaysia is just getting more and more warped with all these juicy fancy twists and turns in the plots. We have Anwar on one side accused of so many crimes, Najib on the other side who COMMITS them but gets away, with all the whistle-blowers being tracked down one by one. (Olivier Metzner anyone??)

We suffer severe brain drains and our years of built, muscular, multicultural relationships are becoming sour although the recent 1Malaysia campaign has been ongoing. I personally think Mahathir's 2020 vision for Malaysia was a better ambitious target. Although he wrote about the "Malay Dilemma" when it was convenient, and now, the "Chinese Dilemma" in a very convenient time too. Words like "Chinese Tsunami", "pariahs" and "immigrants" can be thrown around fairly well and just blaspheme the name of Najib the "Almighty" and get your suicide row the next day. Any justice in our systems??

Aristotle would be turning in his grave. Over and over again. Moderation in actions, desires and emotions. What our leaders sorely lack.

We are turning into a country of extremists. Extreme sides everywhere. The spectrum is beginning to fray. No longer existing in a long thread but discarded in shards, where only the extreme pieces aren't blown away. Rhetoric, by the way.

Damn this spillage of thoughts. All this pent up swirling of words that just come out in a euphoria of mass typing on a Vaio.

Normalcy. A funny word. Normalcy. What is it really?? Who sets the benchmark for it??

Alcohol. A happy substance. I'm a fan. It really gives you the boost you need.

Home-cooked food. I've been obsessed with home-cooked food for ~~quite a while now~~. Okay, not a while. More like a week or two?? Like all my other half-hearted subservient passions, I hope this one won't dwindle as fast. I mean seriously, cooking at home is so much healthier and it does actually taste better than outside food too. I've had this crazy chef-streak going on. I can actually cook meat now!! Meat is something I really don't like handling. I hate the stench of raw meat. The sight of it is nauseating too. But I guess compact meat pates aren't so bad. It is really an obsession. I'll post a few pictures of my 'food creations' if you guys want to see what I've been experimenting with in the kitchen.

Motivation. Something I need. Really badly. I've been a bum. I confess. A downright bum who has zero motivation whatsoever to do anything but to indulge in happy things which do not include studying. Yes, I really have to focus on my subjects this semester.

Horror. Something that keeps this adrenaline junkie happy??

Asperger's. I don't know why it sounds like ass-burgers. But it's a condition I have. It's so mild it sucks being in the middle. It's like having your right foot in a vortex and your left in the current world.

Of buggers, burgers and Ambiga.

Hello readers!! :D Didn't know what picture to put so I put one of myself. Ahem, excuses for vanity. ANYWAY.

Who opens up a burger stall in front of someone else's home and violates their privacy to 'punish' them??

UMNO/BN rookies of course.

There were multiple reports on various sites talking about IKHLAS opening up a burger stall in front of Datuk Ambiga's house. These petty traders complain of unrealistically HUGE losses they suffered because of the Bersih- 'the clean and fair elections protest' on the 28th of April. The traders gathered outside Datuk Ambiga's house (some dressed in Barisan National uniforms) for the burger protest. They even offered Ambiga some burgers although they know she is vegetarian. They also hung a burger on her gate, which was later removed by her bodyguard.

Is it even reasonable in the first place?? They say that because of the Bersih rally, they had to shut down their stalls for A DAY. The amount they want to claim back for compensation?? 200, 000 Malaysian dollars.

They say that their losses in A SINGLE DAY amounted up to 200 000 dollars?? They've got to be kidding. The best part of all this, is that our dear Malaysian police that fired tear gas and pepper-laced water from high pressured water cannons into the Bersih rally-goers are not doing anything about this pandemonium outside Datuk Ambiga's house.

Is that even fair??

1. How offensive!! The traders obviously knew that Datuk Ambiga is a vegetarian. Do they want to provoke the very staunch members of PETA who are vegetarians as well?? :)

2. Who on earth is THAT stupid to close down food stalls on a day that is going to be exploding with a multitude of people?? They either are (a) plain stupid or (b) government cronies who are obviously idiots as well or (c) just too stupid to not understand how a business works. Don't we all know that, when an opportunity arises, grab it?? I mean, the Bersih rally was a GOLDEN opportunity. The streets were filled with throngs of people. And people obviously get hungry AND thirsty after walking, sweating etc.

3. The location of the protest. This is absolute irrelevance. They held the 'burger protest' directly outside Datuk Ambiga's house. That is a blatant invasion of one's privacy. It can also be viewed as a security threat as Datuk Ambiga cannot leave her house without any harassment. She's a lawyer. I bet she could sue all of them in the blink of an eye for violation, distress, criminal/malicious intent and of course, damage to property, and criminal threat. These people should understand that Datuk Ambiga has a family and to cause her THAT amount of distress is just not a very reasonable thing to do, especially when donning government uniforms.

4. They are angry and rioting over the fact that Datuk Ambiga has international backup, BECAUSE she is a lawyer. I think their basis of argument is very invalid and in a debate, it is considered a clash or an overlapping of points where one side does not see the other side's point of view (pov).

Datuk Ambiga's point of hosting Bersih was for clean, fair and reformed elections. These petty traders who are obviously government cronies (let's call them GC*), obviously do not see her point and now they want to dive into this already blown up pandemonium with a DIFFERENT DIMENSION altogether and say that because of Bersih, they incurred a huge loss. Now that doesn't make sense. As I stated in number 2 above. What does Ambiga's international backup have to do with a loss they've incurred?? You see?? Any reasonable sense in the matter??

Another basis of their argument is that Ambiga's rally was illegal. Aren't they doing the EXACT same thing, except that it's worse?? Bersih did not invade any privacy. In this burger protest, the residents of Jalan Setiakasih are affected as there are a throng of people there, reporters too of course. Unwanted attention. The president of IKHLAS has been recorded stating that he hopes she feels the effect of their protest if ever the residents face any difficulties/emergencies. Isn't that malicious intent?? Aren't the law enforcers supposed to be doing something about it??

The president of IKHLAS (a stupid, confused brain damaged idiot who lacks intellect) said that he and his GC*s wouldn't hesitate to block the whole street with their stalls in order to get back the money they lost on the 28th of May. Isn't that a threat in itself?? They're blackmailing Ambiga to compensate the loss that isn't even in existence. He argues and tells the media that all traders should not vote for the opposition in the upcoming elections!! GC* much?? Bersih lasted for a day and these idiots plan to block the whole of Ambiga's residential area for up to 2 weeks if she does not pay back the sum of the loss they incurred.

It's just plain nonsense. Illogical and unreasonable. And the law enforcers should do something about it. Not just sit back and enjoy the whole commotion.

Dogs and murder.

This is my beautiful mini Spitz (or so I think), Jem :) She's in her "hey, I want some pets please" position. She's 5 this year :)

The above two pictures are also of Jem but after she got into a fight with my neighbor's Rottweiller. She practically got mauled, Jem's a pretty tiny dog.

This is Apple (weird name for a huge dog I know), my neighbor's adorable big dog.

Contrary to popular belief, all dogs have aggressive instincts in them. I personally believe that there is no such thing as certain breeds of dogs being more prone to snaps than others. Size and sinew do matter of course. As they say; it's a dog eat dog world.

Anyway, the incident that happened where my dog got into a brawl with my neighbor's dog was so uncalled for. (Warning: It's lengthy.) It happened like this: The chronology of unfortunate events-

1. My mother who loves dogs happened to see a little (or big) black tail bobbing on one side of my gate. Her heart sank. Her first thought was, "Please don't let it be Apple." (Apple-my neighbor's Rottweiller has been attacking some of my neighborhood dogs. I live in a society where dogs make our worlds go round. LOL.)

2. She checked my neighbor's and saw that the outer gate was open.

3. She called my younger cousin, C to go out with her on a wild goose chase in an attempt to chase Apple back into her house.

4. Mum went to the other gate (we have 2 gates to my house) and opened it with the remote. (She didn't see Apple on this side of the gate.)

5. Apple rushed in and attacked Jem.

6. Mum screamed bloody murder and began hitting Apple with a broom (she managed to break it) and started looking for more weapons to hit poor Apple with. The whole time, Jem's head was in Apple's massive jaws mind you. Her head believe it or not can be fitted into Apple's jaws all the way to her neck. I hope you follow.

7. I woke up in time to hear the screaming and commotion. I rushed downstairs in my boxers just to see the gruesome scene. C (my younger cousin) just stood there in all his manly cowardliness, gee.

8. I yelled at my mum to stop hitting poor Apple :( I tried coaxing Apple and she let go of poor Jem for awhile, then she grabbed Jem by her derriere. (My dog was tied to the gate by the way if you're wondering why she didn't make her escape.)

9. Mum started crying and my heart sank. Then I saw the hose, grabbed it and turned it on. Just my luck; the water pressure at that point was pretty low. I sprayed Apple anyway, talking to her the whole time. My mum had reached a point of hysteria already .

10. Apple turned around and walked towards me. I took that opportunity to grab hold of her head. And hug her. LOL In a bear hug. Thankfully, she played along. (She's like one of our pets by the way. Except that she lives a wall away. LOL.) Okay so, mum managed to loosen Jem by that time.

11. Jem ran loose and Apple heard and Jem actually wanted to attack Apple :/ Really bitchy dogs. I ran toward Jem, carried her and screamed at my house helper to open up the wooden door. I threw Jem in on time and managed to leash Apple. I tied her to the gate.

12. Mum kept apologizing and petting Apple for freaking out and hitting her with a broom :/

13. Waited for my neighbor to come collect Apple.

14. After everything, I calmed mum down and rushed Jem to the vet after giving her some sugar water for consumption.

Moral of this long story is: Negligent pet owners should be banned. Every kind of animal that is going to be a pet needs love and care. Dog owners especially need to be extra responsible for their pets.

That brings us to the next story, Mister Yip. He was a 74 year-old Subang resident; mauled to death by a pit bull. The absolute best part of the story is that, the dog's owner can't even identify her pet's breed. In some interviews, she mentions that it is a pit bull; however, SPCA has mentioned that the dog was not actually a pit bull but a bull terrier. In this case, the cause of it all happening is obviously the owner's negligence.

This is Woffle (she's 4 now) :) Dropping by to say a shy hello. She doesn't like her pictures to be taken :P

Dogs like humans too have feelings and temperaments. To every case of a dog gone bad, is a negligent, irresponsible human behind it. Why do you think Apple managed to get out of her house and maul my dog?? Her owner forgot to close the gate properly. As simple as that. Us humans like to have fun too. Imagine being cooped up all the time. I can just imagine the exhilaration Apple felt when she bounded out of her house compound. I think the endorphins drove her to such wild deeds. LOL. She was a very depressed dog though. My neighbor used to give us the keys to her house and we went in to play with Apple. She's really a darling.

Same goes to the little Bull terrier that mauled the old man to death. It must've been trained to attack OR the owner simply didn't train it well enough. It might have been as depressed as Apple OR something might have triggered a reaction as big as a murder instinct in it. It might have not gotten enough exercise and was cooped up thus, when it escaped became an aggressive creature. Any living thing if cooped up for too long would eventually become wild and unrestrained when released. Why should the dog suffer the consequence?? I personally think the owner should be tried in court under Section 304 (a) for the penal code for causing death by negligence. Why make the dog suffer; why euthanize it when it can be rehabilitated?? It just isn't fair innit. Help this little dog by voicing out your opinions to any media in Malaysia. Don't allow it to suffer because of its owner's irresponsibility.

In conclusion: Dogs like humans HAVE emotions. They require a lot of TLC, and of course, exercise and lots and lots of cuddles and walks. Negligence turns dogs into monsters (like humans). They have mood swings and tempers too. Oh and of course, they love to be talked to. NEVER EVER neglect your dog, all dog owners out there. They love you more than they love themselves :)

I'm really tempted to use all kinds of profanities to express my disdain towards the current government but of course. Who'd be taken seriously after that?? :)

I've been sorely tempted to write earlier on the Bersih issue. So many other issues cropped up and sort of threatened to steal the limelight away from Bersih, no?? I think what many people confuse are the fine lines separating the parliament, constitution and of course, the government. So Patrick Henry says, "The constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people. It is an instrument for the people to restrain the government." Wise words, I must say. Who is Patrick Henry, you might ask?? He was (yes was, he died a long time ago. Existed in the time of the "ruins", somewhere between the 17th-18th century) a politician from Virginia, known for his boldness and his courage in leading people towards the light, he promoted human rights along with independence. His other most famous quote was, "give me liberty, or give me death." American students would know him for his "righteous" acts in leading the rebels (opposition) against the government in the Stamp Act along with famous Thomas Paine and of course, Samuel Adams. My American History lecturer would be so "proud" of me :/ I didn't waste her precious breath. LOL.

So anyway, what does Patrick Henry's quotes have to do with a tiny country like Malaysia who has just started taking baby steps toward a revolution/enlightenment??

If you ask me, I'd say we are well on our way to establishing a very rigid dictated authoritarian regime-led government. Egypt and Libya have started with the overthrowing of their leaders. Most people would say, "aahh ungrateful rats." But after all, don't we just strive for a few things in common, transparency, happiness and a less dictated life where we don't have to live in constant fear of the ISA (in Malaysia) or the race card games being thrown against us?? I think the Bersih rally was eye-opening and of course, it puts our current government in fear of an overthrowing. The leaders of UMNO have been quoted, saying, "The opposition has already gotten a few of the states. What more do they want??" I don't think they REALLY get the point of it all. Or maybe they're just good at being the evasive finks they are.

The Bersih rally was never aimed at overthrowing the current government. All the people want is a good, clean, less corrupt round of elections. The whole point of it was to lobby for fair elections. Tell me, is that really wrong?? Why do you think such a huge number of people went for the rally?? It wasn't a fun rave, people were sprayed with tear gas and fired with strong gushes of water from water cannons. The police were being humongous bullies too. Isn't that eye-opening enough?? When such a huge dissatisfaction comes out in the open, isn't that enough to make a statement?? It isn't that the people are being all ratty and whining about the way things are today. It is BECAUSE our leaders have broken our trust in them. They often stray and digress away from all things true.

What they should know is that, when such a huge group of people come together to voice their dissatisfaction, it isn't an anarchy. It isn't a threat to overthrow (it might be but why the paranoia when the government claims in all its self-righteousness that it has done nothing wrong and that everything can be validated??), it isn't an act of the prodigal characteristic in each and every one of us and it certainly isn't an act of rebelliousness.

What the leaders should know that every action has a consequence. They should understand that the severe rippling of dissatisfaction among the general public is in fact a consequence, a butterfly effect of the stones they have been skimming across the water. Lastly, they should reread Newton's second and third laws which are VERY MUCH applicable in a case such as this.

Newton's second and third laws state that:

The acceleration a of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force F and inversely proportional to the mass m, i.e., F = ma.: AND

The mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal, opposite and co linear.

People these days just blow everything out of proportion. The number one issue we constantly hear idiots ramble on and on about is the issue of religion. I was just reading RPK's site. Firstly, congratulations to you, RPK for your 39th year of marriage to Marina. And of course, your posts about religion and how idiots blow it all out of proportion are simply delightful.

The first major issue that is taking place in Malaysia: The battle of religions. Does it really matter; Muslims or Christians??

Another issue was the protests of scholars in the Dataran Merdeka recently that drew a lot of flak from people. And with that, very malicious vicious comments by people who do NOT know what they talk about because they seem to not have any form of defense or backup when questioned.

Dear Jovi,

It was a huge shock when I found out you left us on Tuesday. Lynn was the one who informed me and I was away hence, I couldn't attend your funeral.
I know you are in a better place now where you do not need dialysis and transfusions anymore.
I miss all those grasshopper moments and all those times we had fun with Lynn, Nicole, Doreen; driving Mrs A up and down the walls.
I remember the snail you gave me; it ate up some of my math book. I had a good laugh and we got a caning after that for bringing animals to class.
I know that all of us will miss your funny jokes and your stupid faces; you cracked us up all the time.
I remember the time you worked in McDonald's and my mum said, "WOW a Chinese working here" as a joke. We all had fond memories with you.
You left too suddenly. Lynn and I thought you'd grow up with us. It's horrible losing one of us.
I remember the Stitch moments; do you know that Lynn is still called Stitch to this very day??

I miss those times where we fought to sit with each other in Mrs A's classes. I remember how we lost contact for a few years when we hit high school.
And then you got my number again after that, somehow. And you used to cheer me up. Invite me over when you baked your sugar-free cakes.
I can't imagine how you lived such a disciplined life without sugar and you're one of my best sugar-loving friends.
Chico is going to miss you. It's funny though that you gave your snakes away before this. You were so attached to them. Now I understand that maybe you had your reasons :)
I remember how you used to make jokes about how puberty took longer to hit you. Your voice never really did crack properly did it now.
You tried almost everything before you left. Your secrets are safe with me. I remember asking you how this and that felt when we were younger.

I hope that you're looking at us now and smiling and thinking what fools we are to mourn over our loss. Selfish fools because you have gone to a better place. It's crazy how you were the only one who didn't see me as such a freak and weirdo. You fed my weirdness with all those funny animals you gave me.
I will never forget the times you got me in trouble because you asked me for help; you used to have a crush on Lynn :) And she found you obnoxious for that. She still loves you though; you've always been our dear friend.

Yup, rape. This is a slight rant-ish, informative post.

Oftentimes when we hear of rape, we think, "Oh the girl deserved it. She must have been skimpily dressed." Or, "She must have been promiscuous-looking." In actual fact, rape is a very serious issue. It is a blatant violation (a sexual assault) of one's body that can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime; regardless of race, gender, age, or physical attractiveness. All a rapist looks for is OPPORTUNITY. Don't be like the masses who always assume that rape "must have happened because the victim deserved it." Yes, statistics show that even an alarming number of males get raped. Rape is NOT a crime of passion; it is more an act of lust,anger, the fetish of controlling and violence. It is an act of utter derogatory humiliation in which the attacker thinks that he/she has the upper hand. It is disgusting.

Myths to be busted when it comes to rape.

1. Men cannot be raped. (This comes first in my rape myth list simply because men are usually less aware of it than women. It is a gender stereotype.)

According to the 'Bureau of Justice statistics', there were approximately 20, 000 sexual assaults of males aged 12 and above in the United States alone in 1991. And the statistics rise annually. I personally know of one or two male rape victims who have been assaulted sexually by someone they know; usually a male family member. One of my male friends was raped by his own cousin when he was very young. It especially happens in Arab/African countries where the males dominate more (I know this because I have friends from there who enlighten me.) Also, there are quite a number of cases now, where mothers rape their own sons out of sexual frustration and anger.

2. You can't tell a rapist from the way he looks.

Anyone you know could be a rapist. Your father, grandfather, mother, brother, ANYONE. A rapist could be a doctor, lawyer, judge, policeman, teacher, etc. Rapists are almost usually married, with children. They usually also are friendly, normal and non-threatening.

3. Women usually fantasize about being raped.

This is where YOU come in wrongly. Yes, there are women who enjoy being bound, and all the S&M, BDSM types and styles BUT they are always willing. No woman/man ever fantasizes about being sexually assaulted to the point of being mentally traumatized or shaken up that she/he cannot go about his/her daily life.

4. A man cannot rape his wife.

So what if a man is legally bound to his wife?? That does not make her his slave or his animal that he can just violate her body. Also, vice versa for men since women have become very dominant in certain parts now; to the point of abusing their husbands.

5. Sexual assault usually occurs between strangers.

Estimation has shown that over 70 % of rape victims know their attackers. The rapists are usually friends, family members, co-workers etc.

6. Rape only happens to attractive/ "sexy young women".

Rape can happen to anyone, regardless. (As aforementioned.) It is never usually because of the way the victim is dressed; it is more towards the vulnerability and the opportunities available. Age, social class, ethnic groups, have no bearings on how the victims are chosen. It is usually how much the victim can be coerced or intimidated.

7. Only women and gay men get raped.

The majority of rapists as well as the victims are heterosexual. Straight. Male rape is not homosexual rape. Rapists are oftentimes not driven by lust. They are driven by their disgusting need to feel in control of the other person. They are driven by the desire to have the upper hand over the victim. This turns them on, stimulates them more than actual lustful passions. There are many more male victims who do not report these assaults for fear of humiliation.

8. Women ASK for it because of the way they dress.

How then do you explain male rape?? The way they dress?? A woman can be clad in a full purdah or a full body covering including a head scarf and still be a rape victim. As mentioned again and again in this post, rapists do not look at how "pretty" or sexy the victim is, but more of how vulnerable they are.

9. Women incite men to rape.

Rapes are almost always planned. A rapist is usually not an impulsive person, he/she acts really carefully and plots many devious ways on how to go about it.

10. Victims should "just get over it".

It isn't that simple. The phobia and the fear of it happening again; flashbacks, they are all very disturbing.

In conclusion, rape can happen to both the sexes, sexy women are not the targets of rape, rapists pick victims based on vulnerability, and rape is a very serious offence.

Nik Aziz should stop saying that "WOMEN DESERVE TO BE RAPED." It is a very disgusting statement. He should educate himself, along with all the other closed-minded politicians who are such derogatory imbeciles. Facts are, women and men are the victims, in near equal amounts. These imbeciles should stop blaming their raging hormones on women alone and dismiss rape as a minor little crime. It happens to ANYONE. Nuff' said.

Greetings bloggerleprechauns :) A face shot since I hardly ever take any, or so I've been told.

Patience is truly, seriously a virtue. Especially when it boils down to handling someone as ass-headed as me. Yup, stubbornness is really my thing. I'm so good at it I won't budge for a mean million dollars.

Anyway, today's post- A BBC news reporter has written about signs of ageing (research by Doctors James Kirkland and Jan Van Deursen) being halted in the lab. Of course, no one ever wants to get old.

The answer is-Maybe. Perhaps. Perhaps one fine day, all the old people in the world would be oozing 'pulchritudinous'. Oh and the weather is SUDORIFIC. Phew* Father Sun must enjoy beaming down. Okay, digressions.

Retired cells accumulate naturally with age. Old age causes a human to start look like a shriveled prune with white gonad eyes (okay, maybe gonad wasn't the word) and a chimp-looking face.
However, the onset of wrinkles, muscle wasting and cataract has been delayed and even eliminated in mice, so American researchers say. How is it done?? It's done by flushing out retired cells that have stopped dividing. The target cells in this particular experiment were the 'senescent cells' which are, cells that have stopped dividing after usually about 50 times of division. These cells are usually cleared out by the immune system but they accumulate in the body over time. So what scientists did with the lab mice was to feed them 'the drug' and they would miraculously stop ageing so rapidly. Ageing in the lab mice was dramatically delayed. This could actually be a new revolution for mankind; if the process of old age could be slowed down. The drug (name unknown for now) works like an anti-ageing (not lifespan prolonging mind you) magical elixir. There also was muscle improvement in the mice that were fed the drug.

Doctor James Kirkland and Doctor Jan Van Deursen told the BBC when interviewed that they were very surprised by the effects of the drug. However, this drug is not lifespan prolonging (although it might improve the quality of life), it just is a pre-study of what could really turn about in the future IF we continue to play with phenotypes and drugs altering them.

On a sad note, the Science world mourns 2 deaths this year; the death of Steven Rawlings-an astrophysicist and professor at Oxford uni, and Ahmadi-Roshan, a nuclear scientist; whose people (Iranians) believe that he was targeted and shot by members of the CIA.

Sigh, conspiracy theories.

On a lighter note, I got to eat my noodles :) With a healthy dollop of Bovril and oats. Yummy.

Everybody seems to be going up but me. No matter how hard I try.

2 options for me. Whine, cry and pine over it.
Or, try harder and get a grip.

I think I choose the latter. I'll try harder. Although getting a grip is hard. When no matter how hard I try, nobody seems to understand. Build my fortresses higher. My new aim: Become indispensable.

When everything else seems impermanent.

When everything else seems to fade, I shall remain as who I am. Stronger, wiser, more patient.
All it needs I guess, is patience. And perseverance.

What does it tell you when a huge country's main banking system is actually the World Bank itself?? Government paychecks etc in the US come directly from the IMF. I didn't know that until now. Maybe I'm oblivious but I doubt many Americans would know this too. LOL.

I think all debt slaves running in the puny little rat races we sometimes call life, should actually know these facts; documented with proof.

So many questions running through my head. Where would the Secretary of the US treasury's (currently, Timothy Geithner) loyalties lie?? Also, a lot of worrying stuff circulating in the masses innit. Portugal is debt-riddled to levels that are rather perturbing. Just as expected, Greece took a massive tumble downhill. Just last November, it was stated that "nobody" is running the country (referring to Greece.)

Two countries blackmailed Athens, on the 3rd of November last year (just a month or so back) into abandoning a referendum for fear of it bringing down the single currency. Germany And France. We all go about our daily lives and all these minute little things could actually cause eruptions in the food chains that we live in. Amazing innit. We'd all somehow be indirectly affected by it sooner or later. Are we living in a facade?? :)

Also, think about it. If all US government paychecks come from the IMF, there aren't really any American employees innit. Since none of them actually owe it to the United States itself, they rely on UN for their living.

Oh and if you thought the CIA or the FBI were part of the US government, nuh uh; it ain't true. The US government merely held stocks in them.

Something to read, the Greek Crisis; which of course, eventually will have a toll on the rest of us small beings. Europe is crumbling slowly, the US, just a facade. Wooters.

Yeah, I had a Minaj moment which I regretted the moment I looked at the bangs I cut for myself. LOL.

Midnight, my Brachypelma Boehmei tarantula grew more.

My first ever time on a road trip, to Port Dickson with friends. Meet Karmen (in pink) and Veshinu the guy on the left and Adrian, behind me.

I had my wisdom teeth operated out. I sorta got addicted to the pain of extracting my teeth since I had a lot extracted (small mouth, too many teeth) from the time I had my braces done.

The four pictures above are of really really delicious food my gammy cooked for my relatives from the UK when they came here. She's a Nyonya which explains the curries and spicy looking dish of chicken (in the last picture). The vegetable dish is a mesh of turnips, long beans and carrots. Absolutely mouth-watering. Gammy's the best cook I swear.

And of course, a special outing with my busy bestie of 9 years. Yup, emphasis on the years of bestfriendship. LOL.

And I got this awesome read from Singapore. His latest; one of his most awesome books so far.

Accomplishments of 2012.

Yeah, surprise surprise, I baked a good batch of cookies!! Which is something somewhat new to me, and kind of pleasant. HAHA I never knew how to bake.

Why, you may ask?? Firstly, I am a major klutz. So burning myself comes along with baking. Secondly, I am a little afraid of the huge roaring oven (I used my mum's old mini oven this time). Thirdly, I always somehow manage to put in a little too much butter.

My cookies turned out well this time though. And I didn't even have any help from my dad or Lil (my sister) and WHEE!! Here's a picture, feast on the drool worthiness of my lovingly baked cookies. LOL. The green and red stuff are little preserved cherries and of course, I put in some almonds although I'm not a fan of nuts. (I'm a nut myself.)

So, so?? The verdict?? :P They were rated a 6/10 which is not THAT bad since it's my first ever time baking like this. Well, not really first but the last two times were with Lil and dad and dad is just a bad cookie supervisor so I technically wouldn't count those 'experiences' in as my previous batches were umm, manhandled. LOL.

Another accomplishment, I toned up a little. Yay!! And I recently discovered my undying love for vintage styles again.

If I could rewrite my life, I'd be counting the stars with Lennon. And YOU of course. With my bestie too, and her boyfriend. That would be pure subliminal bliss.
