Thanks for doing our curated prayer time.This edition of our UPRISING Update will include a note from one of our groups that have formed to meet & prayer regularly.

What a perfect season for us to include an action to love our city at one of our services this Christmas.
“Love Calgary” has emerged as an initiative from these prayer times. Thank you for your focus of prayer for Gods heart for our city & our response to reach it.
We know these are strategic times in the future of our church and city.

Sunday December 29 service will be a look back on 2019. Great time to reflect and be thankful for what the Lord has done. THEN with clean hands and pure heart we approach 2020.

The year of Renewed Sight.

When Ps Lorne asked the church to get together with someone to pray for our city, we chose to get together as a group once a month.
We have only gotten together a couple of times and during those meetings God has brought some very interesting things to our attention. We were seeking wisdom from God of the atmosphere and the culture in our city Calgary.
These were some of the things that have come to our attention:
People desire a quick fix, have a limited attention span and seek to be entertained.
People find it difficult to be vulnerable and are unable to give genuine contact, many have a lack of respect for those around them.
When help is needed the internet is becoming the one to give the answers.
Fear is dominating people’s lives.
Our prayer was for: God’s presence to expel the FEAR. In His presence fear
cannot exist. We repented for fear that holds us back, negativity, strongholds, and being distracted in many other ways.
God’s heart is that no one would perish but all would experience the “Light” Him.
We are the light, we carry Christ.
Scriptures:
John 8:12 (NIV) Jesus said: I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life.
Matt 5:14-16 (NIV)
You are the light of the world, a city built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on it’s stand & it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light so shine before others that they may see your good deed & glorify your
Father in heaven.
It is such a privilege to join together and seek our Father’s heart for our City Calgary.

Thank you to everyone who is finding regular time to pray together for our City, God’s heart for our city and our response to God’s heart for our city.
At Monday night prayer we had someone bring a map of our city to prayer over. That was SO helpful. We laid hands on the map. We then lifted the areas of government, spiritual leaders/pastors & their family’s in our city and Kingdom Come.
We asked the LORD how he wants us specifically to “LOVE OUR CITY” …December we will do something with a charity downtown. Which one LORD?
For me I have found an incredible new awakened sense of “Delight in Prayer” …REALLY deep for me.
That the solutions for our city and our nation are found in prayer. Since prayer is the primary means by which we maintain our relationship is established and maintained with the Lord. We could likely say that our relationship with the Lord may only be as strong as our intimacy with Him in prayer. Or Our relationship with the Lord, is as good as our prayer life.
Samuel makes a profound statement in 1 Sam.12:23 “As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you”. One version “Ceasing to pray for you”
Truth is our spiritual life can only ever rise to the level of our prayer life. It would be the same with our Church corporately as well.
The term “prayerlessness” strikes me this season. We could likely define that as “Praying less that the Father desires or less than required”.
Prayerlessness restricts the purposes of God. Prayer is irreplaceable . NOTHING can take the place of personal prayer in our world. Prayer is the arena of the over-comer.
Prayer is a delight to the Father. Pr. 15:8 “The prayer of the upright is HIS delight”. I am finding this is my delight as well.
Oswald Chambers says “Prayer does not fit us for the greater works; prayer is the greater work”
Thank you for subscribing to support our 6 months of unified prayer.
“Curated Prayer” is new for me and our church. It is intentional intercession that is interactive on a corporate level with all subscribed. Your agreement matters. Your intercession counts. Together we will make an impact in our city.

A few things are standing out to me…
>> Why are more Global ministries not visiting Calgary, had 2 day prayer retreat with a C3 minister from Edmonton and thought of the ministries that meet there but NOT in Calgary. Why not? Let’s believe God for people and ministries from around the world to gather here in our city!
>> Love Calgary is being birthed in the heart of C3. Partnership with local ministries that LOVE our city. Homelessness, domestic violence, women’s shelters….
LORD let us connect with like minded Christ-centered individuals that are the hands and heart of Jesus in our city. C3 is looking to partner with them.
>> Our heart for ministry to Rural Alberta is rising. A strategy for a discipleship/ leadership institute is being stirred in our hearts!
