<p>The AT&amp;T Williams team today confirmed that its drivers for 2010 will be Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenberg.</p>
<p>Frank Williams, Team Principal, said, &#8220;Rubens needs no introduction. He is not only the most experienced driver in Formula One, but a passionate and talented driver who fought hard for the Drivers&#8217; Championship this year. Nico Hulkenberg won the GP2 Championship this season as a rookie and has previously won the F3 Euroseries, Formula Masters, A1 GP and Formula BMW Germany.&#8221;</p>

<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Tokyo &#8211; TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announces it plans to withdraw from the FIA Formula One World Championship (F1) at the end of the 2009 season.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">TMC, which had viewed its participation in F1 as contributing to the prosperity of automotive culture, remained dedicated to competing at the pinnacle of motor sports, even in the face of the abrupt economic changes that started last year. However, when considering TMC&#8217;s motor-sports activities next year and beyond from a comprehensive midterm viewpoint reflecting the current severe economic realities, TMC decided to withdraw from F1.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">TMC leaves F1 having compiled 13 podium and 87 point finishes over eight challenging seasons since 2002 with Panasonic Toyota Racing, a full-constructor team. It views its time in F1 &#8211; in which teams put forth their best efforts to fiercely compete at racing&#8217;s highest level &#8211; as an irreplaceable experience that provided an opportunity to develop both human resources and its R&amp;D operations. TMC expresses its deepest appreciation to its F1 fans and others for their warm support.</span></em></p>

<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">We have convened this conference to make an important announcement about Toyota&#8217;s participation in Formula One competition.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Toyota has engaged in F1 racing for eight seasons, starting in two thousand two. But we will conclude our participation in F1 competition with this season.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Our board of directors reached that decision after debating the issue thoroughly. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has supported our F1 program over the past eight years.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">That includes the fans who cheered for our team, the companies that sponsored our racing program, the journalists who covered our activities, and the drivers and all the other team members, who shared the excitement of automobiles with people worldwide through F1 racing.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">I attended the Japanese Grand Prix last month at the Suzuka Circuit. The passion of the fans was infectious. All I can hope is that people will understand that this painful decision was unavoidable in view of the present business environment and the medium- and long-range outlook. <p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">The Toyota F1 team has competed in one hundred forty F1 races over the past eight years. It has tackled each race with intensity and has honed its competitiveness continuously.</span></em></p>

I have called for Toyota to concentrate on serving customers one at a time with flavorful vehicles that make them happy.</span></em></p>

<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Economic and market conditions remain extremely trying. But adversity only heightens the importance of rethinking our proper legacy for the next generation.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">A commitment to contributing to society through the manufacture of automobiles has steered all activity at Toyota since the company&#8217;s beginning. Today, we are undertaking several initiatives to promote the development of automotive culture on a new and higher plane.</span></em></p>

<p>Lexus markası altında bir süper spor otomobil geliştirme projesi de 2005 yılında Ocak ayında sergilenen LF-A konsepti ile ortaya çıktı. Geçen 4 yıl içinde sergilene konsept araçta tasarım güncellemeleri yapıldı ama projenin hayata geçişi hep ertelendi. 2009&#8242;a geldiğimizde otomotiv endüstrisini ciddi şekilde vuran, Honda&#8217;nın F1&#8242;den çekilmesine, markaların el değiştirmesine yol açan küresel finans krizi patlamış ve Toyota gibi markalar da asıl yatırımlarının büyük bir kısmını hibrit ve elektrikli modellere aktarmaya başlamışlardı. Tam bu dönemde Toyota uzun bir dönem süren hızlı büyümesinin ardından ilk defa küçülme ile karşılaşınca şirket CEO&#8217;su istifasını vermiş ve onyıllar sonra Toyota&#8217;nın başına markanın kurucusu olan Toyoda ailesinden bir üye geçmişti. Akio Toyoda&#8217;nın motor sporlarına ve performansa olan tutkusu, belki de rafa kaldırılmasına kesin gözüyle bakılabilecek LFA projesinin hayata geçmesindeki en önemli unsurdu.</p>

Aracın 4.8 litrelik V10 motoru 552hp güç üretiyor ve bu güç 6 ileri sequential bir vites kutusuyla arka tekerleklere aktarılıyor.. Karbon-fiber gövdeye sahip LFA 354lb-ft torku ve 9.000dd motor devriyle 0-100km hızlanmasını 3,7 saniyede gerçekleştirebiliyor. Aracın son hızı da 202mph (325km/s). Bu değerler neredeyse <a href="http://www.carluvr.com/index.php/2009/07/28/savulun-karsimizda-ferrari-458-italia/">Ferrari 458 Italia</a> ile aynı. Ferrari 458 Italia&#8217;nın yerini alacağı F430 modelinin ABD fiyatı 170 bin dolardan başlarken Lexus&#8217;un yaklaşık 375.000 dolara satılması biraz anlamsız olacak gibi. Fakat üretilecek model sayısı 500 ile sınırlı olacağı için bu parayı verecek olanlar mutlaka çıkacaktır. Bu arada astronomik fiyatına rağmen Lexus&#8217;un satılacak her bir LFA üzerinden zarar edeceği tahmin ediliyor. Zaten üreticinin bu modelden asıl beklentisi imaj ve yepyeni performans üretim teknikleri.</p>

<p>Bu BMW&#8217;leri Borusan temin etmiş. 74 bin Euro liste fiyatlı araçlar IMF toplantıları bitince bayilerden 53 bin Euro&#8217;ya satılmış. Toplam 154 adet aracı bu şekilde kısa sürede satmışlar. Çok az kullanılmış BMW 520&#8242;yi 0km fiyatından %28 gibi bir indirimle satınca araçlar telefonla satılmış.</p>
<p>Araçların IMF&#8217;e tahsisi bila bedel mi yapılmış, yoksa Borusan oradan da bir gelir elde etmiş mi, bu detay haberde yer almıyor.</p>
