Electric cars are back. Nissan LEAF, Chevrolet Volt, Tesla Roadster and soon, Tesla Model S, along with a slew of new vehicles from big and small companies, are shaping the way for the automotive future. That’s what Chris Paine, the director of the award-winning Who Killed The Electric Car is proposing you to discover in his new documentary Revenge of the Electric Car. The movie was released last week in LA and will be shown in fine theaters around the country in the coming weeks. Here at Cars + Movies, we’re quite fond of Adam Carolla’s “The Car Show” on Speed TV. Fun cast, cool cars and overall pretty well done. It’s not Top Gear, but they’re finding a good pace and tone. In episode 8, they pitched Magnum PI’s 308 GTS Ferrari against… a V6 Toyota Camry and the Back To The Future DMC Delorean against a, oh man… a Toyota Sienna. So… a Ferrari against the most vanilla car on the road today and an 80’s icon with gull-wing doors against a minivan. Ahem… Sounds like the Toyotas stand no chance, right? Well, think again. Or if, like us, you’re not that much into thinking, you can just watch the video after the jump.

The good guys from SubaruWRXFan have caught another shoot from Dark Knight Rises. In this one, you can see the Batpod really well, along with a Tumbler and some army big rig. Anne Hataway’s stunt double will surely make her look good in the movie… Kudos too her for handling such an unusual vehicle. It does not look comfy. Not one bit.

The last close up might be unnecessary, but I’m sure most of you won’t complain…

The beautiful Anne Hathaway will be playing Selina Kyle in the next Batman movie, and she gets to ride the Batpod for that. Now, that basically means that she’s the next Catwoman, except that the production has been avoided calling her character by that name. Her role will be less raunchy than the previous versions, and more oriented towards action and badass-ness. So less shiny vynil skin-tight outfits and kitty ears, more techie goggles and tactical suits. We like. How about you?

The third episode of the rebooted Batman franchise, The Dark Night Rises, is in the works, and two video bloggers have caught the batmobile roaming the streets of Pittsburgh. Thanks to DoctaM3 and SubaruWRXFan for being at the right time in the right place.

From signature Michael Jackson stageworn costumes, a collection from Star Wars to iconic props and costumes from Apocalypse Now, Batman, Titanic, Close Encounters, Indiana Jones and so much more”. One of the highlights is a character from Michael Bay’s Transformers 2, the bike Chromia. It’s a modified Suzuki with a gigantic tailpipe and all kinds of customs elements. Here’s the description:

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) – This is the original “Chromia” Arcee Motorcycle from Michael Bay’s film. This motorcycle, named “Chromia”, is based on the toy and comic book character. Created by Retro Superbike from a 2008 Suzuki B-King, it was used on set in the opening sequence of the movie and in the introduction of the new Autobot. It was called “F@cking Awesome” by Michael Bay when he first saw it. The paint scheme, as dictated by Bay and crew, depicts the Glyphs seen throughout the movie. Also includes a damaged fairing piece and the original studio rendering used for design approval. This item is oversized and will require additional shipping charges. This car was used during filming of scenes of Tony arriving or leaving signature Sopranos locations like The Bada Bing Strip Club, Satriale’s Pork Store, Sopranos crew members’ houses, meetings with members of the New York families, and the Sopranos home driveway. This car was also utilized during the filming of action sequences such as the infamous car chase in which Tony drives Phil Leotardo off the road and into the back of a parked car.
