Members of the CCSA were in attendance at the Partnership in Injury Reduction (PIR) luncheon in Edmonton May 1, 2013, to recognize the successes of Alberta employers in their efforts to provide safe workplaces for employees through the PIR program. The total PIR refund for 2012 is forecasted to be $87 million. Great job Alberta!

Opening remarks were made by Dieter Brunsch, Vice President, Customer Service and Risk Management of Alberta Workers’ Compensation Board. He then introduced guest speakers, Frank Oberle, Associate Minister of Alberta Human Services and Guy Kerr, President and CEO of Alberta Workers’ Compensation Board. Following this and a wonderful lunch, presentations were made to 2012 PIR refund recipients including one of our own members, Capital Care Group. Anne Forge and Aileen Belke were on hand to receive their certificate and check. Congratulations Capital Care!

CCSA PIR participating members will be receiving an overall refund of $1,957,312, an increase of $636,730 from 2011. As a certifying partner, our members on average return, rank third in Alberta as having the highest refunds.

December 6, 2012
Bethany Care Society

In 1985, The United Nations selected December 5th as International Volunteer Day. Organizations in countries around the world were invited to participate and recognize the tireless work of their volunteers and the contributions they have made in their communities. This tradition continues today!

Our theme at Bethany this year is "Be a northern light". We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers who brighten the lives of Bethany Care Society residents, tenants, clients and employees.
