The Collect:
Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things: Graft in our hearts the love of your Name; increase in us true religion; nourish us with all goodness; and bring forth in us the fruit of good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

International Prayers:
We pray for the initial peace process discussions between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the M23 rebels. Bring your peace and protect those who are innocent.

Road Work Near the Cathedral:
The eastbound lanes on Washington St. between Orange and Magnolia are closed. The westbound lane will remain open until the final paving scheduled for October (the new asphalt work should take approximately 3 days). Please plan your travel accordingly!

This Wednesday night series, we will read through and study the book of Jonah as it was understood by the Church Fathers and early Christians, and how the account of this old testament prophet points us to Christ.
Caring Assertiveness with Deacon Gordon Sims
Learn how to communicate directly, honestly, and respectfully while balancing compassionate care with healthy personal boundaries. Based on the Stephen Ministry book Caring Assertiveness, this discussion group will explore practical, faith-rooted approaches to communicating with greater clarity, grace, and confidence in our relationships, workplaces, and ministries. Participants will read assigned chapters in preparation for each week’s conversation. Books will be available for $8 cash.

"All That Jazz" Centennial Gala Dinner
Friday, October 16, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in the Great Hall
Save the date for an adults-only evening as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the completion of construction of the Cathedral with All That Jazz, a Roaring ’20s–themed night hosted by the Celebrations Committee. Come dressed in your best 1920s-inspired attire and enjoy a catered dinner, immersive décor, an engaging presentation on Orlando in the 1920s, and a night designed for connection and fun. Tickets will be $50 per person (21+), and you can go ahead and start planning your look now. Ticket sales begin online and in the breezeway on Sunday, September 6.

Altar Flower Dedications
To provide fresh flowers for worship each Sunday, the Cathedral Flower Guild needs a minimum of $50 in weekly flower donations. If you'd like to sponsor the altar flowers in thanksgiving, celebration, or remembrance, your dedication will be printed in the Sunday bulletin. The Collect:
Grant, O merciful God, that your Church, being gathered together in unity by your Holy Spirit, may show forth your power among all peoples, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

International Prayers:
We pray for the elections in Guinea-Bissau this past week as they decide how to move forward with the current military junta. We ask for just leaders that will work for the common good of the country.

We pray for the ongoing violence in Haiti. We ask for your intervention to disrupt cycles of violence and poverty.

Almighty God, you have given your only Son to be for us a sacrifice for sin, and also an example of godly life: Give us grace to receive thankfully the fruits of his redeeming work, and to follow daily in the blessed steps of his most holy life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

International Prayers:
We pray for the ongoing Ebola crisis in the DRC and ask for a reduction in the number of those who catch the disease and for their suffering to be comforted.

We pray for the long running civil unrest in Myanmar and pray for wise and just leaders who will care for their people.

The Collect:
Let your continual mercy, O Lord, cleanse and defend your Church; and, because it cannot continue in safety without your help, protect and govern it always by your goodness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

International Prayers:
We pray for all children impacted by war and disease. We pray for protection and comfort for all children displaced by war, for those who have lost parents and siblings, and for those without regular food. Look upon these innocent ones you love and pour out your mercy.

The Collect:
O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

International Prayers:
We pray for those around the world suffering from extreme heat. We pray for relief and for renewed care for God's creation.

We pray for the wars in the Middle East that those in power would feel motivated to act for the good of their people and would take decisive steps to end the violence.

An Update on the Search for Our Next Dean

The search for our next Dean continues to move forward. While much of the work has taken place behind the scenes, meaningful progress has been made in recent weeks.

The Chapter has completed final reference checks for the three candidates recommended by the Search Committee and invited each finalist to continue in the discernment process. Since then, one candidate has accepted a call to serve another parish, leaving two finalists who will move forward.

The Chapter is now coordinating multi-day visitation with each finalist. Due to previously scheduled commitments involving the candidates, their families, and Chapter members, these visits are being planned for early to mid-August.

We know that many in our Cathedral family are eager to learn who God is calling to serve as our next Dean. We share that sense of anticipation and remain committed to a process that is thoughtful, prayerful, and thorough, trusting that careful discernment will serve our congregation well.

Thank you for your continued patience, grace, and faithful prayers as we seek God's guidance for the future leadership of our Cathedral. We will continue to keep you informed as the search progresses.

A Prayer for the Dean Search Process:

Lord Jesus,

We give thanks for the work of the Search Committee and now lift up the members of our Chapter as they discern our next Dean. Grant them Your divine guidance and deep wisdom. Bless their meetings with unity, clarity, and peace. Give them the insight to recognize the shepherd You have chosen for our Cathedral family.

We pray also for the person whom You are calling to be our next Dean. Even now, prepare their heart for this ministry and guide their steps according to Your will.

Strengthen our congregation during this season of transition. Fill us with patience, hope, and trust in Your leading. Draw us closer together as a community of faith, and prepare us to welcome the leader You are raising up for us.

May all our work bring glory to Your name and further the mission of Your Church. Amen.

Summer Local Mission
July 13–17
Our middle and high school students are invited to Summer Local Mission, a five-day diocesan mission experience at Holy Apostles in Satellite Beach. Students will serve local organizations, worship together, build friendships, and grow in faith alongside youth from across the Diocese of Central Florida. Participants will be commissioned on Sunday, July 12, during the 10:15 a.m. service. Please keep our teens and chaperones in your prayers as they prepare for this week of service and formation.
